Chapter Thirteen
Melina

Before I could say anything, Trevor tugged at the tie on my
robe and pushed it open. His breath hissed out as his eyes moved hungrily along
my body.

“You’re gorgeous,” he praised, his words sliding along my
skin like a caress.

With the dampening spell on my condo, I knew neither of our
reactions had anything to do with magic. At the wedding reception, I’d felt our
magic interact, and it had been hard to keep mine in check while Trevor drove
me over the edge. Thankfully, I always kept a few spelled items on my person to
help control my demon magic so I didn’t end up hurting anyone. That wasn’t
necessary in my own condo.

Damn! I suddenly realized that at Trevor’s there would be no
dampening spell. I’d have to be extra careful to keep a spelled item on me at
all times.

“Am I boring you?” Trevor drawled, and I was annoyed to
realize I was blushing.

I licked my lips and shook my head. “My mind wandered for a
second.”

“I guess I’ll have to do more to keep your mind engaged,
won’t I?” The wicked promise in Trevor’s eyes had me wanting to press my thighs
together, which was impossible with Trevor standing between them.

His head dipped toward mine, and my lips parted in
anticipation of his kiss, but his lips merely brushed against mine as he
stepped closer. His hands moved under my robe to settle on my bare hips, and I
shuddered again. When I met his eyes, I saw his desire. I also saw the cocky
confidence Trevor always exuded mixed with something else. Trevor seemed
nervous.

“I’ve waited so long to have you,” he began. “I told myself
I was going to be patient and wait until we got back to my place. I’d planned
our first time to be in my bed, me worshipping your body and making you come
harder than you ever imagined possible.”

I wasn’t sure what I’d do if he insisted on waiting until we
got back to his place. My eyes landed on the condom, and he chuckled.

“You don’t need to explain,” I assured him. “I’m glad you
had the foresight to realize we might not be able to wait.”

“You’re too much temptation,” he murmured, leaning forward
to brush his lips against the sensitive spot near my collar bone. “I need to
taste you again. I’ve been dreaming about it, and I know for a fact I won’t be
able to resist sliding into that tight body of yours after I taste you.”

I moaned when he sucked the pulse on my neck lightly while
one hand teased my thigh. I reached a hand forward to grip him through his
pants, enjoying his guttural sound of pleasure. Allowing my hand to slide up
and down the length of him, I was getting even wetter. The thought of having
Trevor inside of me made my body pulse with need; I wanted to see him, taste
him.

Trevor grabbed my wrist to pull my hand away from his
erection.

“I want to touch you, too,” I insisted.

“Don’t worry, honey. I have every intention of letting you
touch me, but not yet. First, I have big plans for that delectable body of
yours.” His grin turned wicked, and before I could guess his intentions, he
pushed my plate to the side and lifted me off the stool, settling me on the
breakfast bar. Moving the stool to the side, Trevor settled between my legs
again and kissed me. This time, there was no teasing brush of lips, as his
tongue slid into my mouth. One of his hands reached around to grasp the hair at
the back of my head, holding me in place. The other hand slipped between our
bodies to brush against my nipple in a teasing caress at odds with the way his
mouth was devouring mine.

My nails dug into the back of his shirt while my tongue
moved desperately against his. I wanted Trevor more than I could remember
wanting any man. All the months of pretending I could forget him made this even
more intense. When my hands reached for his belt, Trevor caught them, pulling
both behind my back.

“Behave or I’ll use the belt on your robe to tie you up,” he
warned. “In case you’re wondering, I’m hoping you give me an excuse to do it.”

I moaned, and Trevor released my hands, freeing one of his
own to roll my nipple between his fingers. “No more games,” I told Trevor, and
his eyes darkened at my commanding tone. From the looks of it, Trevor liked it
when I was assertive.

Leaning forward, Trevor took one of my nipples into his
mouth and suckled it gently at first, taking his cue from the way I writhed and
moaned as he sucked, licked, and even nipped at my nipples. If he kept going,
my nipples were going to be sore when I put my bra on, and I wasn’t sure I
cared. One of Trevor’s hands slid between my legs, and he pressed the heel of
his hand close to my clit, adding just enough pressure to have me lifting my
hips to rub against his hand. I needed more pressure, more of everything. My
entire body was on fire, aching for his touch.

Trevor pulled the stool forward and sat on it, using his
fingers to spread my folds open for his inspection. “Fucking gorgeous,” he
praised before dipping his head and running his tongue around my opening. I
reached down, trying to press him closer, needing more. His tongue continued
its leisurely exploration of my pussy as if this were the first time he’d ever
tasted me. His own moans of pleasure vibrated against my sensitive flesh,
making me whimper with need. Two of his long fingers slid inside of me, while
his tongue strummed my swollen clit. He suckled my clit, licked it, and swirled
around it. Trevor pleasured me while keeping my orgasm just out of reach. When
I was ready to beg him for my orgasm, his fingers curled, hitting a spot inside
of me that made me scream. Sucking my clit into his mouth, Trevor’s tongue
relentlessly flicked against the sensitive nub until my orgasm hit so hard I
was thrashing against his face and tugging at his hair.

As my spasms subsided, and my brain started to function,
Trevor lifted me off the breakfast bar and turned quickly to place me on the
granite counter top. I shivered slightly from the cold, watching as he released
his dick from his boxers. My brain short-circuited again at the sight of his
glorious erection. When I looked up at his face, I found his eyes dark with
desire. He was as far gone as I’d been only moments ago, and it was beyond
sexy. My eyes followed his as he opened the condom and rolled it down his cock
before stepping between my legs. Sliding into my body, inch by inch, I felt
more stretched than I ever had. I pulsed around him, welcoming him into me.

“You’re so tight,” Trevor groaned, thrusting the rest of the
way into my body.

All I could manage was a moan as my body clamped down around
his. I was already nearing a second orgasm just from having him slide into me.
When he started to move, it was obvious Trevor was trying for slow controlled
strokes. I knew he wanted to draw this out, make it last, but I wanted hard,
fast, and desperate. No, I
needed
hard, fast, and desperate.

“Faster,” I panted out, and I saw the indecision in Trevor’s
eyes, but he was too far gone to resist my pleas.

He thrust into me over and over again, filling me in a way
no man ever had. My body was tightening around his, and he groaned, mumbling
words of praise I couldn’t quite make out over my own needy whimpers.

I met Trevor’s eyes, and he looked almost like he was in
pain. I knew he was close, knew he was trying to hold back until I came.
Something about his raw need was enough to send me spiraling over the edge, and
I barely heard him call out my name as we both came completely undone.

Chapter Fourteen
Trevor

Nothing had ever come close to what I’d just experienced
with Melina. In the past, I’d always remained in complete control during sex. I
liked being in control. At least, that’s what I’d always believed. As it turned
out, I enjoyed losing control with Melina.

Sliding out of her body was a struggle, but I somehow
managed to pull away from her and dispose of the condom, suddenly wishing I’d
brought more than one.

“That was,” Melina began, before taking a deep breath. “I’m
not even sure there’s a word for what that was.”

This was not the time for one of my self-satisfied smirks,
which is why I found myself literally biting my lip, because I was more than a
little pleased with myself.

“I’d tell you not to act cocky about this, but I have to
admit, you have good reason to feel overly confident,” Melina added, much to my
surprise.

Helping her down off the counter, I retied the belt on her
robe, hoping she’d be less tempting covered up—a foolish thing to hope for. It
didn’t matter what Melina wore; she was always a temptation I didn’t want to
resist.

“Could it be that I’ve actually managed to fuck the
bitchiness out of Melina Blackwood?” I teased, quickly stepping back in case
she made an attempt to unman me.

Rather than trying to stab me with the nearest kitchen
utensil, Melina let out a contented sigh. “It would seem so. I’m not even
considering smacking you for that comment.”

Moving forward, I brushed my lips against hers. “So, all I
have to do is keep you sated if I want you sweet-tempered?”

Her naughty smile had my dick perking up with interest again.
“I definitely think you should test that theory while I’m at your house for the
next couple of weeks.”

My fingers, which had been gently massaging the nape of her
neck, tightened. “A month,” I corrected her. “You agreed to stay a month.”

“I agreed to a month if you aren’t tired of me by then,” she
argued. “In two weeks, when you’re sick of me, you’ll be glad I’m not holding
you to a month, like some needy witches would.”

I reined in my temper, not an easy task when she was clearly
trying to distance herself from me. I wasn’t going to let that happen. My lips
curled into a smile that I hoped conveyed the promise of all the things I
planned to do to her over the next month.

“Oh, yeah. I am definitely going to enjoy proving you
wrong,” I murmured.

Chapter Fifteen
Trevor

I was filled with an almost primitive sense of satisfaction
as I carried the last of Melina’s bags into my home. There was still plenty at
her condo, but I was determined to have her completely moved in by the end of
the month. If I had my way, I wouldn’t need to use the terms of the bet to
convince her we belonged together.

“How long do you think you’re going to have that smug smile
on your face?” Melina asked me, and my smug grin widened.

“I got my witch in my house,” I began. “This smile is going
to be on my face for a long time.”

“I’m not your witch,” Melina huffed.

“I’ll say it again. I am really looking forward to spending
the next month showing you how wrong you are,” I murmured, leaning in to kiss
her.

Just as my lips were about brush against Melina’s, Mr.
Whiskers raced into the room, sliding across the tiles in my foyer. His wings
began to flap frantically as he tried regaining his balance to avoid running
into the wall. Stepping back from Melina, I quickly mouthed the words to my favorite
binding spell, and my power slipped around his body, holding the condor in
place until he could steady himself.

The poor bird looked stunned, so I scooped him up before
Melina got to him. “You okay, buddy?” I asked. Once Melina agreed to bond her
magic with mine, something I was determined to make happen, I’d be able to
understand Mr. Whiskers. For now, I had to go by his reactions and guess what
he meant.

Mr. Whiskers’ breathing steadied, and he leaned into me,
letting out a sigh. “What have you been eating?” I asked him, nearly gagging
from his breath.

Melina giggled. “He smelled a dead possum in your yard when
we got here, so I let him go out there to find it. Apparently, he found the
dead possum and decided it would make a nice lunch.”

“Damn,” I grumbled when the condor sighed again. “Do you
have any breath mints for him?”

Since Melina was giggling, and the condor was intentionally
opening his mouth in my face, I assumed they were both fucking with me. This
should be disturbing on many levels. Mr. Whiskers’ breath was truly the foulest
thing I’d ever been exposed to. Still, I found myself laughing.

“That’s enough of that,” I warned playfully. “Either Mr.
Whiskers gets a breath mint, or he doesn’t get to see his new room.”

I put Mr. Whiskers down, and he hurried over to Melina who
was still laughing. “Oh, so now you want me to get your breath freshener?” she
asked the condor.

“Stop laughing, witch, or I’ll spank your cute little ass,”
I warned playfully.

Melina snorted. “My ass is neither cute, nor little.”

I almost laughed when Mr. Whiskers moved around behind her
to examine the ass in question before bobbing his head, probably agreeing with
Melina’s assessment of her ass.

“Ah, but it is quite spankable,” I insisted. “Unless you
want me to demonstrate how spankable it is, I suggest you deal with his
breath.”

Melina seemed to consider her options, and I’m not going to
lie; I was hoping she’d refuse to get the breath fresheners because I could
tell she liked the spanking idea. If Mr. Whiskers weren’t in the room, she
might have even pushed me to do it. I made a mental note to test that theory
later.

“Come on, baby,” she crooned at her familiar. “Let’s go see
if we can do something about that breath of yours.”

As she walked out of the room with her condor behind her, I
was guessing she was shaking her ass back and forth to tempt me.

Damn, that witch was hot.

Chapter Sixteen
Melina

Mr. Whiskers was happily exploring his new room. I could not
believe how much effort Trevor had gone through to get him settled in. It was
sweet, and it threw me off balance. Then again, everything Trevor had done so
far today had thrown me off balance, from his nervous texting to our wild sex
in my kitchen. I was never going to be able to look at my kitchen the same way
again. I’d had no idea what to expect when Trevor came to pick me up. While I’d
known he wasn’t going to show up regretting his choice—not after all the effort
he’d put into getting me to give him a chance—I’d wondered if he was going to
waltz into my condo acting like a cocky ass. While he was definitely acting
cocky, it was kind of cute.

“Thank you for going to so much effort to set up a room for
Mr. Whiskers on short notice,” I told him, and Trevor’s smile made me think of
a little boy who’d been praised for doing something good. Trevor was definitely
a good host. That thought made me frown and reminded me of another reason I’d
avoided getting involved with Trevor.

“What did I do wrong?” Trevor asked hesitantly.

“Sorry. It’s not anything you did just now.”

“It’s something I did another time?” he asked.

I let out a sigh, figuring we were going to need to have
this discussion, eventually. “I’m not much of a party person,” I explained.
From what I remembered, Trevor had at least one party a week, and he’d been
known to have two or three.

“I haven’t had a party in months,” he admitted, surprising
me.

“Really?” I asked, wondering if he was joking.

He turned away. We were in his kitchen, and he started to
rummage through the fridge before setting out a fruit and cheese platter.
“Before you ask, this wasn’t for a party. Dylan’s mom insisted I take leftovers
home from the wedding reception.”

I laughed. “Then it was for a party, just not yours.”

“Smart ass,” he grumbled.

“Are you trying to avoid telling me why you’ve stopped
having parties?” I asked.

“No,” he replied before shrugging. “Maybe a little. After
you laid into me about my parties and acting like a child, I got to thinking
about the way I was living my life.”

“Oh, Trevor,” I began, recalling what a bitch I’d been. While
I’m usually a bitch, I rarely feel guilty about it. “I’m sorry about that. You
shouldn’t have to change your life because of what someone else thinks.”
Actually, I was shocked Trevor would even consider changing his life to please
someone else. That wasn’t his style.

“That’s not why I stopped having parties,” he began, holding
a strawberry out to me. “What you said made me think about what I was doing
with my life. At first, I was pissed that you’d called me juvenile, and I had
no intention of changing, but I suddenly stopped enjoying the parties. It was
like I could hear your voice in the back of my head asking me why I was having
people over when I didn’t like most of them.”

“So, you’re saying I did ruin the parties for you,” I
insisted.

“Not really,” he replied with a shake of his head. “Eat,” he
ordered, pointing to the tray. When one of my eyebrows lifted in question,
Trevor chuckled. “After fucking you in your kitchen, I need to fuck you in my
kitchen, so I figured I’d make sure you eat something first.”

His eyes were locked on mine, waiting to see how I’d react.
It was a struggle not to tell him to fuck me now and forget the food. “The
parties,” I prompted with a sweet smile before grabbing a piece of cheese from
the tray. I knew damn well he was trying to distract me.

Trevor chuckled. “I’m going to have to step up my game. I
was convinced you’d forget what we were talking about.”

“You’ll have to work
harder
to distract me in the
future,” I responded.

“If I get much harder, I might break the zipper on my
pants,” he grumbled.

“The parties,” I pushed.

“Right, the parties. I got to thinking about the reasons I
was having the parties. First, I was lonely,” he admitted, sounding somewhat
embarrassed by that admission. “So, that might have been a good reason to have
the parties if it weren’t for the fact that I’d been avoiding most of my guests
for months. My guests were more like background noise.”

“What were the other reasons for the parties?” I asked.

“Only one other reason came to mind, and it was lamer than
the first reason,” he admitted. “I had this idea that, if I had enough parties,
one day, my perfect witch would walk in the front door.”

“That seems like a good reason to continue having those
parties,” I stated.

Trevor just shook his head.

“So, no more parties?” I asked.

“No more parties,” he confirmed.

“Do you miss it?” I asked. “There must have been more to the
parties.”

He thought for a moment. “I missed it at first. Being alone
is scary. I’d never spent much time living alone, and I had a hard time getting
used to it, but I did. Believing I needed people around to make me happy, meant
spending time with people for the wrong reasons. I was looking for someone to
make me feel good about myself, instead of learning to like my own company.”

It was strange hearing Trevor talk this way. I’d always seen
him as overly confident, but it seemed I’d misread him. “Now, you like your own
company?”

“I do,” he replied without hesitation. “As much as it pissed
me off when you cut me off all those months ago, I needed this time alone.
Without it, I don’t think we would have stood a chance of making this work.”

I still wasn’t sure we could make this work, but I wasn’t
about to argue with Trevor—at least, not now. I’d probably argue with him about
it plenty later, but for now, he’d opened up to me, and I didn’t want to ruin
the moment with a bitchy comment, as I was often known to do. “I’m glad you
like your own company, Trevor. You’re a great guy.”

Trevor prowled around the kitchen island, his hot, hungry
gaze moving along my body. My eyes traveled down his body, and I sucked in a
breath when they landed on the bulge in his pants.

“I keep saying I can’t wait to get you into my bed, and then
I get distracted with all the other places I want to fuck you,” he murmured, sliding
his arms around me and splaying his fingers across my lower back.

My mouth opened to give a sassy reply, but before I could
speak, Trevor’s lips crushed mine. My mouth moved against his. All it took was
one touch from this warlock to have me ready to beg for more of him, making me
wonder if I’d somehow turned into a nympho for Trevor. It had only been a few
hours since I’d had him, and I was already dying to feel him inside of me
again.

One of Trevor’s hands slipped under my shirt to stroke my
nipple through the lacy fabric of my bra. I arched into his hand, groaning and
breaking our kiss. His eyes were locked on my face as he pinched my nipple.

“Seeing you in my home is so fucking arousing it’s a miracle
I’ve waited this long to touch you,” he murmured.

I moaned, and Trevor took my mouth again. I was already
close to coming just from having Trevor kiss me and play with my nipples
through my bra. “I need you in me, now,” I insisted.

The buzzing of my phone was not a welcome interruption, and
I decided to ignore it when Trevor pulled my shirt over my head and tossed it
across the room. His hands went to my bra clasp, freeing my breasts to his
hungry mouth. That’s when the phone started buzzing again.

“I need to answer that,” I said on a moan.

“Ignore it,” Trevor commanded, leaning in to take my nipple
between his lips and suck hard.

My lips parted on a whimper, and I was seriously tempted to
listen to him, but I knew I couldn’t do that when my phone started buzzing a
third time.

“I can’t ignore it,” I told him with genuine regret. “There
are rehearsals tonight, and there might be a problem I need to deal with.”

Trevor pulled back and nodded his understanding. While it
was obvious he wasn’t happy about the interruption, he didn’t seem annoyed.

I grabbed my annoying phone before the call went to
voicemail again.

“This is Mel,” I answered gruffly.

“Mel, it’s Leo,” the producer of
Night High
shot back
before letting out a hacking cough.

“What’s up, Leo?” I asked, knowing it could be anything with
him. He’d call me if the restrooms were out of toilet paper because the ass
couldn’t call the janitorial service, or Goddess forbid, go to the supply
closet and get the damn toilet paper himself. Admittedly, I was surprised he
was calling me on a Sunday night since he did his best to avoid the studio on
weekends, and he rarely showed up for rehearsals. Leo preferred to be there
when he thought the press might stop by to ask him about
his
show. Leo
was a total prick.

“We have a serious situation,” he told me. “I need you here
in ten minutes.”

With that, the annoying little troll hung up on me.

“I need to go into the studio,” I explained to Trevor,
looking around to see where he’d tossed my bra and shirt.

“What’s going on?” he asked, his voice a little strained,
which made sense considering the erection still straining the zipper of his
pants. I was seriously going to kill Leo if this wasn’t something that required
my skills as head writer.

“I don’t know,” I admitted. I would have called Leo back,
but now that he’d spoken to me, he wasn’t going to answer his phone. “It could
be some minor bullshit issue. For whatever reason, the asshole producer thinks
I’m the only person who can take care of anything.” I put my shirt back on and
finger-combed my hair.

“I need you to be honest with me, Melina,” Trevor said from
right behind me, and even though he wasn’t touching me, I could feel the heat
of his body, tempting me to lean back into him. “Are you using this as an excuse
to get away from me? We had a serious talk—one I’m sure you weren’t ready
for—so, I can see why you’d want to put some distance between us.”

“No,” I assured him. “I definitely do not want to put
distance between us. I may kill Leo if he interrupted what was about to happen
without a damn good reason.”

“Okay, then I’ll go with you,” he offered.

“No,” I responded quickly. “Fuck! That makes it sound like I
don’t want you around me, and I do. It’s just that I don’t want to deal with
all the questions your presence will bring since they will only keep me at work
longer tonight. I just want to handle whatever issue came up and get out of
there. Would it make you feel better if I offer to let you bring me dinner
tomorrow?”

Trevor nodded, and he seemed relieved. While I’d been
tempted to try to keep the fact that I was seeing Trevor a secret because I
knew it was temporary, I’d quickly dismissed that idea. I was staying at
Trevor’s house, and as part of our bet, I’d agreed to give him a chance. That
meant he’d be seen with me in public.

“I think I’ll change out of my moving clothes and get Mr.
Whiskers ready to go,” I said, knowing he’d probably be annoyed about leaving
his new toys.

“Just leave him,” Trevor told me, and he chuckled at my
skeptical look. “You already know we get along fine, and he’s going to be
living here with you, so he may as well get used to spending time alone with
me.”

“We’re staying here for a month,” I reminded him. “Unless
you get tired of me earlier, and then it could be even less than a month.”

“Keep telling yourself that, honey, and I’ll keep proving
you wrong.”
