Chapter One

Arabella had left everything behind, her home containing all the memories of her previous life, the Lord that threatened everything, all of her worldly possessions. The quivering bulge that protruded from her abdomen was a reminder that none of it mattered.

Rayzier’s heavy wings commanded the air around him, lifting them both higher as she rode on his long scaly back towards what looked to be the highest mountaintop within sight. The cold air lashed at her face causing freezing tears to whip across her face as she tried to make out where it was they were going.

A few feet below them, clouds were clumped together, Rayzier’s long claws grazing the white fluff as they passed above them in the night. Arabella did her best to grip the spines along his back, adjusting her position whenever she felt it was safe to do so.

“How long until we arrive?” she shouted, hoping that Rayzier could hear her through the air that was rushing at her face.

He lifted his huge reptilian head, opened his strong jaws, long teeth parting and roared into the darkness. Arabella didn’t know what that meant but assumed it was a good sign. Moments later, Rayzier changed directions and began to circle into a descent. Before long it became clear to Arabella where they were going.

The highest mountaintop looked as if its peak had been flattened. Instead of a snowy white point there was a city made of the mountains own stone. Large cavernous buildings, winding roads, but she could see no trace of a living creature amongst the place.

As they got closer, Arabella’s cold stiff body began to warm. As Rayzier got all four feet on level ground and his wings stooped and curled at his sides, Arabella lurched forward with the motion and nearly fell off.

She was able to correct herself and slide off the dragon’s back, which as soon as it saw that she was standing upright, breathed a hot sigh of relief and transformed back into a man. Rayzier stood for a moment and stretched his arms.

“This is nothing of what I expected. Why is it so warm here when there is snow along the other mountaintops?” Arabella asked curiously, looking out into the distant darkness.

“There is an active volcano below us. We of the dragonkin could not survive very long here without the warmth to rejuvenate us” Rayzier answered, a sense of pride in his voice.

The cobbled streets that led away from the landing ledge looked like any stone walk way she had seen before, although she could feel a slight heat radiated from them as it mingled with the chill of the cold night air. Footsteps echoed out against the buildings in front of them, a lone barefooted figure shrouded in a black cloak came forward towards them.

“Mobian!” Rayzier shouted and then turned to meet the figure.

“Ah, Rayzier. I was wondering who’d be coming back so early from hunting. We have missed you these last few days. Your Uncle Vyandun told us a strange tale.”

The smile faded from Rayzier’s face. Mobian hadn’t bothered to look over at Arabella. She noticed that the barefooted man was old, but the rough voice that he used sounded as if he were ancient. Along his cheek a puckered scar ran across his face and one eye was white and without sight.

“What has he told you?”

“That you were dead.” Mobian answered quickly.

Rayzier looked over to Arabella and reached for her hand, pulling her closer.

“His tale was false. Instead I have bred. This is Arabella.”

Mobian’s eyes still didn’t meet her eyes; instead they cast down and stopped at her swollen belly.

“Come, let me prepare the birthing room and sound the horn. The others should know of this occasion. Vyandun hasn’t led them far.”

Arabella looked to Rayzier for answers as Mobian stepped away from them and back down the cobblestoned walk way. He shook his head and pulled her hand while following the robed figure.

The silence in the city was unsettling. It looked as if were any other large populated area, which normally would mean noise, even during the night. Animals and drunkards coupled with the calls of whores searching for lonely men, but here there were none. All that fell on Arabella’s ears was the soft padding of their footsteps and a slight breeze that only heightened the silence.

None of the small cottages or store fronts were made of wood. Everything was stone. And as the trio passed the buildings, Arabella began to notice what really set the city apart, many of the homes were much larger and instead of front doors were just large open archways.

She realized that some of the inhabitants must prefer keeping their dragon form over their human one. Making a mental note to ask later, Mobian directed them up a set of stairs around the side of a large fortress that rested in the heart of Istian.

“Rayzier, please show your female through there. If she isn’t comfortable with the amenities we have I can have something else arranged.”

Rayzier nodded his head and opened a heavy metal door that squeaked as he pushed it open. Mobian stood behind them and suddenly, without anyone moving forward, all of the lanterns in the room were lit with a deep blue flame.

An enormous bed was in the center of the room. The bedding looked thick and luxurious and draped over the top of it was a black bear skin. She hadn’t realized how tired she was until the fantastical bed was before her, it was like a craving that could finally be satiated.

“Arabella, will this do?”

She blinked a slow tired blink. “Yes, this is fine.”

Beside her, Mobian had strode forward. “Good, I will go sound the horn. Please make yourself comfortable.”

Her belly twitched. Momentarily forgotten, it seemed to have wanted to remind her why they were there. Arabella placed her hand on the crest of the bump only to be met with the top of Rayzier’s who was looking down at her in wonderment.

Chapter Two

Vyandun was a menacing looking dragon. His scales were a sleek looking black; four great dark horns protruded from his head, and on his tail was a heavy club. He was larger than the other dragons that had landed around him, all coming to answer the long horn blast that had called them to return.

Instantly six of the eleven beasts transformed into human men and women, Vyandun among them. He was just as fearsome in human form. His black hair was swept back and grazed his shoulders, a short black goatee grew from his chin and his eyebrows seemed to be perpetually pointed down.

Without instruction, the others followed him forward, the dragons bumbling behind.

“Mobian! What is the meaning of this?”

Mobian was waiting for them in the center of the cobbled road. A smirk played on his face.

“I’d thought you’d like to be here for the first birth we have been able to witness in nearly a decade.”

The other men and women behind Vyandun began to whisper excitedly. Vyandun expression did not change.

“Who?”

“Rayzier has returned and brought a human woman with him, he has impregnated her and it will not be long. From the look of it, I give her until dawn.”

Again, there were excited whispers. One woman even squealed in delight and then the group of dragonkin passed by Vyandun who was boiling with rage before their very eyes. Mobian did not wait for a reply and joined the excited onlookers towards the fortress where Rayzier lay waiting with Arabella.

* * *

Arabella was propped up on the half a dozen pillows that sat at the head of the bed. Rayzier sat beside her, stroking the tight skin of her exposed belly.

“Do you think it will be a male or a female?” He asked, his eyes open wide with curiosity.

Arabella laughed, “How am I to know? I suppose it won’t be long until we know.”

He looked down again at her stomach where a wave of skin rippled as the child within her moved about. She shifted uncomfortably.

“I have something very important to tell you Arabella, and remember that I could have kept silent and allowed what will happen to take you by surprise.”

She sat up straighter for a moment, her sense of ease gone with the words that spilled from his mouth.

“When my people come to welcome you, they will be friendly in your presence, but when you are not around they will plot. It isn’t because of you, but because of their jealously. A birth is very rare here. Another thing, they do not want to be chosen as the sacrifice.”

“What sacrifice?” Arabella asked worriedly.

Rayzier did not meet her eyes as he launched into his explanation, “One of us dragonkin must give up his flame stone to the new child. It lays inside of us, and can only be ripped out through the stomach. A piece of it must be fed to the newborn in order for it to survive, the rest will crumble away soon after and the sacrificed dragonkin will die with it.”

Arabella did not know what to say, a million questions launched into her mind and seemed to spill out altogether. Rayzier threw up a hand as her jumbled words came out.

“I will choose who is to be sacrificed. As you know, my Uncle wished to do away with me to have his place as King. He will not openly cause you harm, but some night he will take you and the child and neither of you will survive. When the time comes, and I choose him, he will not go down without a fight. You must be vigilant with protecting the child, if I die, Mobian will help you, but he cannot always be by your side.”

The momentary dreams she had of a peaceful new life were crumbling around her. Rayzier hadn’t said it, but she knew even if she fled, Vyandun would track her. The child within her was not the miracle it seemed to be. All the same, she still wrapped her arms around the bump protectively.

With a bang the heavy door burst open, Rayzier jumped to his feet and Arabella lurched in surprise. A group of people marched in. All exclaiming their excitement at seeing Rayzier.

“I knew Vyandun must have been mistaken when he had said you fell,” a muscular balding man proclaimed.

“OH! It’s true! You’ve bred with a human! Look!” a red haired woman screeched elatedly and pointed to the speechless Arabella.

Rayzier raised his hands, quieting the small hoard of people. Behind them a dragon’s head was poking through the doorway and was immediately pushed away by another.

“Dragonkin please, calm yourselves. There is much preparation and we do not have much time. Plus Arabella needs these last few hours to be calm. I’m sure meeting everyone can happen later.”

The men and women looked to one another. Mobian strode forth, pushing a curious dragon from the door.

“Dragonkin, we have to prepare for the ceremony. Please let us vacate the premises. I’ll require your help around the pit,” Mobian announced.

The dejected group tromped from the room while Rayzier watched on.

“I have not seen Vyandun. Has he not arrived or is he not excited for this joyous occasion?”

Mobian turned to Rayzier with a jerk, “You know very well that isn’t happy. I assume you’ve picked a sacrifice?”

Rayzier nodded. Their eyes met and then Arabella and Rayzier were alone again.

Chapter Three

Arabella took a while to calm down once they were alone. Rayzier reassured her over and over again, that everything would work out. She was still stunned at their ritualistic killing of one of their own but did not argue the point because it was insisted that it was necessary for the survival of her child.

She then worried that if Rayzier could not defeat Vyandun, what would happen then. With each passing second her belly seemed to be growing slightly. Rayzier had stripped off his shirt was lying next to her during the silence and once again resting his hand on her belly.

And then he leaned close to her, kissing her lips and hoping that the worry that spread across her face would go away. It lessened slightly but didn’t completely fade.

“You don’t mind do you?” he asked gently.

She leaned forward and gave him another kiss in return. “No. Not at all. If anything it’s a nice distraction to have you so close.”

Rayzier could feel the blood rush towards his crotch. He turned to her and when their lips met for the third time there was a need between them. Both of them met the other with a ferocious passion, their tongues clashed together and Arabella grabbed at the back of Rayzier’s head, pulling him close. Then she was pushing him back and lifting her skirts. It didn’t take Rayzier long to figure out what was happening, and the beast in his pants slithered out and perked up at the sight of Arabella’s naked legs.

She quickly positioned herself on top of Rayzier, pushing him deeper into the stuffed mattress as she straddled him, his erection grazing her inner thigh. She kissed him once and then shimmied down onto the floor awkwardly keeping hold of her belly as her knees thudded against the warm stone.

Her hand reached out, grasped his ever growing thick erection and stroked, pulling at the tight skin, her hand came up once and then twice more. Not wanting to wait anymore she bent her head low over his lap, tongue flicking out and over the tip. Drool leaking from the corner of her mouth, dripping down warm rivulets across his dick.

Rayzier moaned as Arabella placed her lips over his cock, sucking the head before taking his whole length into her mouth. Slowly her head bobbed up and down, hand following along and pumping the skin up and down.

Rayzier reached out and grasped at her head, digging his fingers into her hair. His held fell back, eyes closed as he focused on the pleasure that was coursing through his body. Arabella stopped when small bits of his seed began to coat her tongue.

He groaned at the distraction, “No, no, keep going, please.”

He tried to urge her head back down, but she swerved under his palm and stood up.

Rayzier reached out to her as she sunk her knees onto the mattress, crawling over him until she was in position. She straddled him again, his erection pointed high and slick with drool. Arabella slowly lowered herself down, Rayzier’s throbbing cock parting her pink lips like a knife through butter.

She gasped at the fullness she felt, slick wetness immediately began to coat her thighs. Rayzier held tightly to her ass, moving his hands up her back to clutch at the indent in her back. The awkward belly between them was no problem for Arabella, she arched her spine, staring up at the ceiling with her eyes closed as sweat dribbled down her forehead while she continued to ride Rayzier’s cock.

He shuddered beneath her, and groaned again loudly. She felt him shiver as his cock began to recede in girth. One final thrust caused Arabella to become weak kneed and suddenly she collapsed beside him, immediately her hands caressed her belly, reassuring herself that everything was ok with the child.

Rayzier laid with his eyes closed for a moment, “It will help with the birthing process.”

Arabella laughed, “I’m sure that was all about duty.”

He flicked open one eyelid and returned her smile with a grin.
