“That’s my chair,” he told Stone, not noticing his chair had been moved.

“Shut up.  Yours is over there but you can stand,” Rocky said.  Bobby ignored him but when Big Mike stood up and blocked Bobby’s path, my ex decided to stand.  “Explain,” Rocky demanded sternly.  Bobby stayed silent.  Rocky looked at Dusty and then Enrique.  Dusty finally spoke up.

“All the guns weren’t in there,” he admitted.

“What?” Rocky asked, his fingers digging into the leather of his chair.

“Bobby kept a few for himself,” Dusty explained.

“You fucking snitch,” Bobby said.

“But you’re not denying it,” Stone observed.

“Who the fuck do you think you are?  Fuck off,” Bobby told Stone.

“He’s my VP.  Anyone that has a problem with that can get the fuck out.  Well, not you,” Rocky said, referring to Bobby.  No one moved.  “Good.  Now is what Dusty said true?” Rocky grilled Bobby.

“Yeah, it’s true.  There was like fifty AK-47’s in there.  Like they’d miss a few.  I didn’t think they’d inspect the crate,” Bobby said.

“Are you fucking stupid?” Rocky asked and then thought that over.  “Of course, you're fucking stupid,” he added.

“Don’t forget, Rocky, Dusty drove off with the guns and Bobby grabbed the money,” Stone said.

“Hey, Bobby told me if they wanted to look at the guns, I should get the fuck out of there. I didn’t know he was going to take the money,” Dusty defended himself.

“You’re both fucking morons.  The Jamaicans will come here.  They’ll want those guns or their money...or both.  You’ve made marks of all of us,” Rocky said.  I wasn’t sure that had occurred to everyone.  You could almost feel the discomfort as that sank in.  The news hit Bobby especially hard.

“Rock, I...I didn’t...fuck,” Bobby said, unable to form any kind of defense.  He thought he could skim a few guns off the top.  He actually thought the Jamaicans would let him keep the money and the guns.  What did I ever see in Bobby?

“How did you arrange the meeting?” Stone asked.  Bobby glared at him but answered the question.

“There’s a middle man,” he told us.

“You got a phone number?” Rocky asked.  Bobby nodded.  “Well, give it to me,” Rocky pressed him.

“Oh...yeah,” Bobby said, pulled out his wallet and retrieved a slip of paper.  He handed it to Rocky.  Stone pulled his phone out and Rocky read him the number.  After Stone tapped it in, he handed the phone to Rocky.

“What’s his name?” Rocky asked Bobby as he put the phone on speaker.

“Her name is Rayne,” he replied.  Rocky shook his head.  Was she a stripper or a hooker?

“Yeah?” a female voice greeted us.

“This is Rocky, President of the Knights.  I need to get in contact with the Jamaicans,” Rocky told her.

“They’re going to kill all of you,” she said, almost gleefully.

“Yeah, yeah.  How do I contact them?” Rocky asked.

“You don’t.  I do,” she said.  Rocky considered what to say.  Bobby began to speak but Rocky put a finger up and stared at him with a hard look.  Bobby shut up.  He was an arrogant bastard but he was at least smart enough to know when he was in over his head.

“Tell them we want a meeting.  We want to make this right.  We’ve got all their guns and we mean to correct the stupid error on the part of one of our members.  Let them know that the Knights will make this right.  We don’t want a war,” Rocky said.

“I’ll tell them.  I’ll call you back and let you know if they agree,” she said and hung up.  Rocky handed the phone back to Stone.

“What are you going to do to make it right?” Stone asked.

“I’m going to give them the guns and the money.  I didn’t want it anyway.  We’re going to hope they want the guns and money more than they want revenge,” he said.  Dusty grumbled but it was Bobby that complained the most.

“I earned that money.  I deserve it,” he argued.

“You stole it, dipshit.  It’s club money and I say it goes back,” Rocky said.

“I agree.  Free guns will quench their anger,” Stone said.

“That’s bullshit.  It’s club money, I say we vote,” Bobby replied, sure he’d win.  It was a lot of money from what I gathered.

“Fine, who wants to give the money back?” Rocky asked the members.  He raised his hand along with Stone and both Mikes.  I even put my hand in the air.  “That’s four,” Rocky said and then noticed me.  “Five...you lose,” he added.

“She’s not even a member.  She’s just my ex-old lady,” Bobby complained.  I almost responded but Rocky cut in.

“And she’s better for this club than you are,” Rocky said.  Bobby exhaled, not happy with how this was going.

“And I’m Stone’s old lady, not your ex, asshole,” I added.  Stone held up his hand and I high-fived him.

“I told you he wasn’t that smart,” Stone said.

“You were right, as usual,” I said playfully.

“Fuck both of you,” Bobby said.  I laughed.  Seriously, what did I ever see in him?  Nothing actually.  I was with him because the alternative was worse.  I had a better alternative now.  Suddenly, the phone rang.  Stone handed it to Rocky.

“Rocky here,” he answered.  Rocky listened, hung up and handed the phone back to Stone.

“So?” Stone asked.

“Tomorrow night at midnight.  They want to meet at the reservoir,” Rocky said.

“So there won’t be any witnesses when they kill us,” Dusty joked.

“Yeah, thanks to you morons,” Rocky replied.  Dusty looked down at his feet.  “I’ll go with Bobby and Dusty.  No need for the rest of you to get involved,” Rocky told the club.  There was a general sigh of relief from the members that didn’t have to go but Ginger and Stone weren’t satisfied.

“You don’t need to go,” Stone said before Ginger had a chance.

“What he said, Rocky.  Make those two go alone,” Ginger added.

“Are you kidding?” Rocky said.  Ginger shrugged.  Letting them go alone wasn’t an option.

“Then I’ll go,” Stone told him.  Now I wasn’t happy.

“It’s not fair for the rest of us to take a risk because of their poor judgement,” I argued.

“I agree.  But we’re all in this now,” Rocky told me.  “It’s my club and I’ll take the risk,” he said, looking at Ginger as if to say he was sorry.

“No, you won’t.  I’ll go.  I’m the VP.  I’ll take care of it.  That’s my job,” Stone said.

“Sorry, I might be biased but he’s right,” Ginger said and then looked at Stone and I as if to say she was sorry for saying it.

“You’re too old for this shit.  You’ve earned the right to let me go in your stead,” Stone said.  I knew Stone was right but I didn’t like it.  Rocky thought that over.

“I knew there was a reason I made you VP.  You’re right.  I’m getting too old for this shit,” Rocky said.

“Then I’m going too,” I said.  Everyone looked at me.  I was sure Stone would argue against it but he didn’t, not exactly.

“There’s nothing I can say, is there?” he asked with the smirk on his face.

“No,” I replied.

“It doesn’t matter.  If we fail to appease the Jamaicans, they’ll come after the club anyway,” Stone said.

“I’ll go too,” Big Mike said.

“Me too,” Little Mike added.

“No. The fewer of us there are, the less threatening.  You can wait nearby...just in case,” Rocky told them.

“You saved my ass earlier.  Just in case,” Stone said.  The Mikes nodded.

“Go home...all of you, get some sleep.  We’re safe for tonight most likely.  They’ll wait to make a move until we meet tomorrow.  Probably,” Rocky said but he wasn’t sure.  That didn’t make me feel very secure but he couldn’t know what the Jamaican’s would do.  But they agreed to meet us so it didn’t make sense for them to come after us now.

The members began to leave.  As Stone and I were leaving, Rocky asked us to stick around for a moment.  “What’s up?” Stone asked.  Rocky faced us with Ginger hanging on his arm.

“Thanks.  Thanks for being stand up,” Rocky said and then added, “both of you.”

“I believe in the club,” Stone said.

“He’s loyal to a fault,” I added.  Stone slapped my ass playfully.

“I’m glad both of you are Knights.  We’ll get through this,” Rocky said.

“I have no doubt,” Stone said.  Ginger hugged Stone and then me.  Rocky shook Stone’s hand and then gave me a big bear hug.

“We’ll see you two tomorrow night,” Rocky said and then led Ginger back into the clubhouse.  Stone and I walked to my car.

“I guess I’m driving,” I said.

“I guess so,” he replied.

“I’m sorry about your bike,” I told him.

“What’s left has probably already been picked over.  I’ll build another one,” he told me.

“I hope so,” I said as we climbed into my car.  We drove home and didn’t say much along the way.  Before going home, we stopped to get some In-N-Out.  Back at home, we ate in silence.  A heavy weight seemed to be sitting atop our shoulders.  I didn’t want to believe that Bobby’s stupidity might cost people their lives.  It seemed surreal but I knew that there were people, people that bought illegal guns, who didn’t think twice about taking a life.

“You’re quiet,” Stone said.

“So are you,” I replied as I ate the last of my fries.

“It’ll be alright.  We’ll give them the guns, all of them, and the money.  That’ll satisfy them.  Then the Knights are out of the gun running business for good,” Stone told me

“Of course,” I said.

“Don’t believe me?” Stone asked.

“It’s not you I’m worried about.  It’s Bobby and that Jamaican gang.  Even you can’t control them,” I told him.

“It’ll be okay.  It’s me,” he said.  I rolled my eyes and chuckled.

“I want to be with you,” I told him.  Stone showed me his smirk, that boyish, mischievous grin.

“Impending doom kind of makes you horny, doesn’t it?” Stone observed.  I laughed again.

“Yeah, it does,” I said.  Suddenly, Stone pushed our sodas and wrappers aside and crawled onto the table between the sofa and recliner.  “What are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m coming to get you,” he said.  He reached across the divide and put a hand on the sofa.  Then the other and he somehow managed to climb on to the sofa...on to me.  He straddled my lap, took my face in his hands and kissed me.

“You smell like grilled onions,” I told him.

“You’ll get over it,” he said and unbuttoned my top.  He squeezed my breasts through my bra as he bent and kissed my neck.

“I’m over it,” I said as I pulled the t-shirt up Stone’s back.  We parted and took turns removing each other’s shirts and then Stone relieved me of my bra.

“Let’s go have last night on earth sex,” he told me.  I frowned.

“Is that supposed to turn me on?” I asked him and then added, “Because it’s working.”  I tugged his beard and then slapped his ass.  “I think I’ll let you eat my pussy tonight,” I said.

“What the fuck are we doing sitting here then?” he asked me.  I pushed him off of my lap and got up, shimmied out of my leggings and shoes and walked to the bedroom.  Stone watched and then followed me.  I lay on the bed, legs spread, waiting for him.  Stone hopped in, trying to remove his jeans and boots as he came to join me.  I giggled as he fell to the floor.
