We make our way through the front lobby to the elevators. The doors open and as we step inside, I pray no one joins us. I let out a thankful sigh when the doors close leaving us alone inside. Jax grabs me by the waist, slamming me against the mirrored wall. His lips are on my neck, breath hot, teeth biting my delicate skin.
His hand roughly pulls down the strap of my tank top, revealing my right breast. His hot mouth latched onto my swollen bud, tongue swiping, teeth nipping. I let out a hungered cry as he grinds his rock hard cock against me.
I love it when he gets riled up like this. He's like a ravenous beast who leaves me in a breathless pool begging for more.
The elevator dings and Jax pulls his mouth away and slides my strap back up then grabs my hand, leading us down the long hallway to my apartment. As I grab my keys out of my purse, Jax's hands slip under my arms, groping at my breasts while he trails kisses up my neck.
The door barely creaks open before Jax is kicking it wider with his boot. He sweeps me off my feet and carries me over the threshold, the door slamming shut behind us. He drops me on the couch, and I land face down against the cushions. He wastes no time with pulling my pants down, instead just rips open the seam of my yoga pants. A deep growl escapes his chest when he sees that I’m not wearing panties.
Before I get a chance to push up on my hands, Jax’s face is buried in my ass, forcing me to stay pressed against the cushions. He spreads me open, licking from my clit to my ass, tracing my tight ring with the tip of his tongue before diving back into pussy. The mix of the licking and his afternoon stubble tickling my skin has me ready to explode. Just as I start to feel my pussy pulsating, Jax moves his mouth away, replacing it with his fingers. He rubs them between my wet pussy lips then uses my wetness to lube up my tight hole. When he has it good and wet, he pushes his thumb inside, gently stroking it in and out. Holy fuck, it feels so good.
My body purrs when I hear the clink of Jax’s belt opening behind me. Without warning, he fills me to the hilt in one giant thrust, making me cry out. I manage to get up on my hands and knees, pushing back my ass against Jax, forcing his cock and thumb deeper inside me and it feels exquisite.
“This is what you wanted, huh Kitten? You wanted me buried inside this tight pussy of yours, taking what’s mine. That’s why you so easily sent me that picture, teasing me with this hot body of yours, knowing I wouldn’t be able to resist,” he growls.
“Yes,” I cry out. Truth be told, I was going to wear the lingerie under my chef’s coat and send pictures to him throughout the night to tease him.
“Harder,” I demand. Feeling the animal inside me coming to life. He’s the only one who knows how to bring out the wild side in me. My hips thrust back, meeting his every thrust. My body is on fire.
“That’s my good little Kitten, make yourself come all over my fucking cock.” His gruff tone makes my pussy clench around him even tighter. He’s got me so worked up it’s not going to take much before I’m coming.
He reaches his free hand around under me. Finding my clit, he puts pressure on my throbbing bud, messaging it in rough tight circles. His hips buck wildly, and it only takes two more hard thrusts and I'm coming hard, screaming out his name. As the waves of my orgasm rock my body, my pussy squeezes every last inch of Jax’s length, milking him to come along with me. He grunts and moans his release, filling me with his hot cum.
His arms snake around me and we fall back against the couch. My body goes limp against his chest, and I feel completely sated. Jax holds me in his arms, softly kissing down my neck, soothing the trail of bite marks he left in his wake. A smile pulls at my lips when I feel a hand slipping inside what’s left of my yoga pants. Fingers lazily stroking my clit.
“Feeling better now, baby?”
“Almost, but first I'm gonna need you to come at least three more times before I let you out of my sight.”
Pacing back and forth in front of the old abandoned phone book factory just three blocks away from my building, I wonder why Lexi asked me to meet her here before dinner.
I check the time on my phone, Lexi is running ten minutes late. Just as I stuff the phone back in my pocket, a black Range Rover with black tinted windows rolls up to the factory. The driver’s side door opens and a pair of long lean golden tanned legs come sliding out. The very legs that were wrapped around me this morning.
My heart skips a beat when Lexi comes into view. She looks like an angel dressed in a white long sleeved dress that stops mid-thigh, showing off her gorgeous legs. Her long blonde hair cascading down her back in loose curls. My hands twitching to feel those soft silken locks wrapped around my fingers. Even in the dark I can see her emerald green eyes sparkling.
The click of her heels echoes down the quiet street as she sashays over to me. As she steps under the streetlight, I catch a glimpse of her full lips, I'm already aching to kiss them.
“Sorry I’m late, baby.” Her hand slides around the back of my neck, our lips meet in a soft warm kiss as her fingers dance in my hair. My hand glides down the curve of her ass, giving her plump cheek a hard squeeze, pulling her closer.
“You’re looking very handsome tonight.” She takes a step back eyeing me up and down. It's been a year since I've been to a party that required me to wear a tie. There is a reason why I hired on Parker to handle meeting new clients and handle all the in person meetings, I hate wearing ties and I hate kissing people’s asses.... Well except for Lexi’s. I know this dinner is important to her, so I busted out the only tie I own and bought a black suit. I feel like an asshole. The only thing getting me through this is Lexi and what I am going to do to her with this tie later tonight.
“You’re lookin’ good yourself Bennett. So why did you ask me to meet you at this rat infested shithole?”
“Don’t mock the future home of my restaurant,” she scolds.
“This is where you want to build Sweet Temptations? Babe, I love you, but you and Pippa are out of your damn minds. Do you know how much work it’s going to take to get this place just up to code?”
This building has been vacant for as long as I’ve been walking these streets to go to Fenway. The roof is leaking, most of the windows have been smashed out and there is probably a family of rats and raccoons living in the wreckage just to name a few things wrong with this place.
“Just picture it, out front little cafe tables for people to sit and sip on their espressos...” She goes on with her visions for the new restaurant. Her words fade away and all I can focus on is her face and the growing smile that is lighting it up. She is so passionate about this project it’s even getting me excited for it.
“The reason I wanted to show you the building is to see if you think it can be saved.”
“Tell me one thing. Why this building? Out of all the places in Boston you could build your restaurant, why do you want to build it here?” I ask.
“When Pippa and I decided we were going to go into business together, we looked at every neighbourhood and toured through building after building and nothing felt right. Then one day we were walking back to my car after checking out another disappointing location when we took a wrong turn and found ourselves standing right in this very spot, and we both fell in love with the place. There was just something about it that we both couldn’t shake. And now that I know you are just living across the street...” She steps toward me, slipping her hands into mine.
“I love this place even more, because now I will be able to have the two loves of my life all together.” She sweetly smiles.
“Then yes, this place can be saved. It’s going to take a lot of work and money to make it happen but it can be done,” I reassure her.
“Thank you, thank you.” Lexi flings her arms around my neck, hugging me tightly. “Now, can you tell my investors that? They are still on the fence about this whole idea, but I know if you, me, and Pippa can convince them, they will say yes.”
“Just turn on that Lexi charm and you’ll win them over babe. You got this, Kitten.”
I grab another glass of champagne from a passing tray. My third in the last hour. If the knot in my stomach gets any bigger, I may explode. I've never been so nervous about anything in my entire life. I just want the investors to finally say yes to our ideas for the restaurant so I can stop stressing out over it.
I take a big gulp, the bubbles tickling my throat all the way down. Looking up from my glass, I see Jax talking with Brad, our main investor, and Pippa. Brad Connors has his hands in half the successful restaurants in all of Boston. He saw how I was able to take a small idea for southern comfort food and turn it into a successful and profiting restaurant in less than eighteen months and wanted to work with us. The only problem is, he wants to take Bennett’s and just stick it in a new location and add Pippa as the pastry chef just to capitalize on the success I’ve already gained, and that is not what we want. We want Sweet Temptations to be a culmination of the two of us.
I walk over to where Jax is standing. His hand instinctively slides around my waist, pulling me close to his side. With that little gesture, my whole body relaxes. This man has this incredible calming effect on me. He has been absolutely perfect all night. I know this isn't his scene, a night conversing with a bunch of stuffed shirts talking stocks and whose yacht is bigger than whose. And having to dress up in a suit and tie isn’t his idea of fun, even though he looks damn good with his ink peeking out from the sleeves of his jacket. He just smiles and nods, rubs my back when he sees me tensing up and whispers an I love you to make me smile.
“Miss Bennett, just the person we were looking for. I was talking to your man here about his team doing the work on the restaurant. Pippa has been raving about the work he’s done on her brownstone.”
“He is quite the rare talent.” I smile over at Jax.
“Which is why I think he will do a stand up job on the Paramount building.” Just as the words come out of Brad’s mouth, I quickly realize he has no intention of opening Sweet Temptations.
“Brad, we already have a building in mind for Sweet Temptations,” Pippa chimes in.
“Look ladies, your little cafe idea is good, but...” And here it comes, what I have been dreading to hear all day, the brush off. “Bennett’s is already a successful brand. We need to open a second location now while the iron is hot. Maybe later down the line we can discuss your idea again, it's just not the right time to take this risk.”
I take in a few quick breaths, finding it hard to breathe as it feels like someone has just sucked all the oxygen out of the room. Everyone around me starts to move in slow motion and time seems to stand still. Everything Pippa and I have worked so hard on has now been pulled out from under us. I never wanted to be the chef that opens the same restaurant over and over again. Every restaurant should leave its stamp on the world as something unique and new. I know it’s a risk, restaurants close every day, but I know this can work, whether Brad believes in it or not. I'm not going to let him keep us from our dream.
I look over at Pippa, as she tries to plead her case, even Jax is throwing in his two cents, but it’s not doing any good. Brad has made up his mind, we either open a second location for Bennett’s or we get nothing.
“You know what Mr. Connors? You and the rest of your rich friends can take your money and shove it up your asses. This little idea as you called it, is going to be a huge success and you will be kicking yourself that you missed the opportunity to get in on it. Jax, Pippa, let’s get the fuck out of here.” I gulp down the last of my champagne slamming down the empty glass on the table. Turning on my heels, I bolt for the door before the tears start to stream down my face.
As soon as the cold night air hits my face, I feel a surge of panic hit me like a ton of bricks. I just told one of the richest men in Boston to shove his money where the sun doesn’t shine. I single handedly destroyed any hopes of getting support from the investment firms in town. I’m so fucking stupid.
Pippa comes flying out the door hot on my heels. She steps in front of me, keeping me from pacing back and forth in the driveway of Brad’s mansion. She grabs me by the shoulders forcing me to look at her.
“Pippa, I am so sorry. I just screwed up everything,” I sob. The tears streaming down my cheeks.
“Are you kidding me? That was amazing. I only wish I had recorded it,” she howls.
“There is no way we are going to get the start up cash we need for the restaurant.” I still don't see the ray of sunshine she is does.
“We will figure something. I can use the money from the sale of my apartment. I have some savings, and I’m sure Grayson will help us with the rest.”
“I can’t ask you to do that. You guys are getting married, and you’re going to start a family. You need that money.” I cover my face in my hands and sob uncontrollably, chanting what are we going to do, over and over again.
“I think I can help.” I look up, wiping the tears from my cheeks to see Jax standing behind Pippa with a big knight in shining armor I'm here to rescue you smile on his face.
“How?” Pippa asks.
“You could ask me for the money,” he suggests.
I step around Pippa, a look of dumbfound etched across my face. “How can you possibly have that kind of money?”
“I still have most of the royalties from the band. It’s more than enough money to cover your startup costs.”
“Jax, I can’t take your money.”
“You were more than willing to take it from a bunch of strangers, so why not me?” he asks, taking a step closer to me.
“Because I don’t want to start off our future together with me owing you.” It’s sweet of him to offer, but there is no way I can take two million dollars from a man I’ve only been dating for a short time.
“Jax, these strangers know all the risks and for them to lose that kind of money is a drop in the bucket compared to their massive wealth. If I take your money and, God forbid this restaurant goes under and I lose all the money you have, that could rip us apart, and I can't risk our relationship for that.” My gaze falls away from Jax. My heart aches at the very thought of losing him. I love him more than anything, and I can't risk losing what we have.
He slides his fingers under my chin, lifting my eyes back up to his. Even in the dark, I can see the love he has for me radiating in his hazel eyes.
“I would sell everything I have, live in the streets, to make your every dream come true, because that is what people do when they love someone. You have done more for me just by loving me than anyone ever has. You are the air in my lungs, the beat in my heart, and the blood that flows through my veins. I love you more than anything in this world, and I am going to do this for you, whether you ask or not. Besides I already messaged Parker to make an offer to the bank to buy your building,” he says the last part matter of factly.
“Jax, I don’t even know what to say.” My voice fades into a whispered breath. I’ve never had anyone love me as intensely as Jax. It’s heartwarming, exciting, and little scary. But I want it more than anything.
“Just answer yes to my next question.” His hand slides around the back of my neck, forehead pressing against mine. “Marry me and be mine forever,” he whispers.
“Are you crazy, we hardly know each other.”
“All I know is that I’m crazy about you. That the night we met, my heart truly started beating. I want to spend the rest of my life arguing with you, making you laugh, making you come, and making babies with you. If that makes me crazy, then lock me up. Now, will you marry me Lexi Bennett?”
The tears start flowing down my face again. A month ago I thought I had it all. A successful career, an amazing apartment, and good friends. It wasn't until I met Jax that I realized I was missing something, that there was a hole in my heart I was trying to fill with all the wrong things. It’s now, as I get ready to utter my response, that I truly feel whole, and I finally have what I really want in this world, and that is Jax.
“Yes, I will marry you.”
