It made a strange kind of sense to her. She took in another long breath, talked her body into loosening, bit by bit, even as his fingers surged inside her, tiny movements that nevertheless brought pleasure to new, stinging heights.

“Ah, there you go. Perfect.”

She felt impossibly warm all over, her body lax. She lay back and let him work her, need cresting, making her fly, letting it flood through her body like water.

Finally he said, “It’s time, love. Come.”

She did, pleasure bursting inside her, flowing to her limbs, the water turning to a deep, thundering roar that filled her head.

“Ohhhh…Ohhhh…”

She couldn’t stop moaning, couldn’t stop shivering in long, undulating waves. Sensation was infinite, her body curling into it. And Connor went with her, his fingers inside her, the other hand pulling her into his lap. And still she came, her sex quivering, pleasure seemingly endless.

Eventually his hand slipped from her and he swept the blindfold from her face, covering her with the end of the comforter from the bed. She pressed her face to his chest, reassured by the steady beating of his heart. They sat together on the floor for a long time, and after a while she heard the rain coming down outside again, making her feel safe and warm in his lap.

“Connor…make love to me.”

She had never said those words to any other man.

So many firsts with him.

They slipped together onto the floor and he covered her body with his. He held himself over her, his green eyes dark with desire. Wide with the wonder of love. She felt it in every look, every
touch. And as he entered her she felt it deep inside her body. In her heart.

She hadn’t been looking for this. And yet she’d found him, somehow. And now, knowing Connor, knowing love, she couldn’t imagine how she’d accepted all her life that she would never have this.

She wrapped her arms around him, then her legs, pulling him closer as desire rose once more.

“Don’t ever let me go, Connor,” she whispered against his neck.

“Why would I do such a foolish thing? You’re everything to me, my love. You’re mine.
Mine
.”

His
.

It was all she’d ever wanted. More than she’d known was possible.

She knew, for the first time, the beauty in belonging.
