Francisco X. Alarcón
was born in Wilmington, California, and was raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is the author of ten books of poetry including

He currently teaches at the University of California, Davis, where he directs the Spanish for Native Speakers Program.

Alfred Arteaga
is Associate Professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of numerous books of poetry and theoretical essays. He is the recipient of a Rockefeller Fellowship (1993), the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship (1995), and the PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award for Literary Excellence for
House with the Blue Bed
(1997). Additional publications include

(2006).

Ron Arias
was born in Los Angeles and has lived in the United States, Germany, Spain, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico. Arias taught literature and journalism at the college level for thirteen years and worked as a magazine journalist for eighteen years. Arias also served two years in the Peace Corps. His short novel
The Road to Tamazunchale
, was nominated for the National Book Award in 1978, and in 2002, it was translated into Spanish by Basarai Bilingual Press. His current project is a novel entitled
Ibarra
, a fictional account of the teenage, mid-16th century explorer of northwest Mexico. Arias is a Correspondent for
People
Magazine, AOL-Time Warner.

Deborah Fernández Badillo
lives in California and has worked with La Calaca Review.

Juan Manuel Bernal
lives and teaches in San Diego, California. He is the author of

Evangeline Blanco
is a native of Puerto Rico. Her current occupation is Payroll Examiner for the state of New York. She currently resides in Queens, New York. Her winning novel

was published by Doubleday Press in 1998.

Wilfredo Q. Castaño
is the author of
Small Stones Cast Upon Tender Earth
(1981). He is active at the Poetry Center at San Francisco State University and has had his work reviewed in the
American Poetry Review, The Greenfield Review, Tin-Tan Cósmico Magazine, Kosmos Anthology

City of San Francisco Magazine

(1984). He teaches writing and photography at the college level.
