. It is in the tradition of
Caitanya
. The movement's principal aim is to lead people, living in this demonic age, the age of
Kaliyuga
, to attain salvation in the form of permanent Krishna-consciousness by the Way of
Bhakti
-yoga, the highest of the three Ways of Knowledge, Works, and Devotion. The Mah
mantra is: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna; Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare; Hare Rama, Hare Rama; Rama, Rama, Hare, Hare. The devotees are vivid and obvious on the streets, in white or saffron robes (for men), and in coloured saris (for women), dancing and singing to traditional instruments.
