“I thought we had better things to do than wash up afterwards.”  He said as he indicated for Victoria to pick the first piece of pizza, then followed by taking a slice for himself.

“What, no maid service.”  She asked.

“Okay so I do have a cleaner, and someone to keep the fridges and cupboards fully stocked, but that’s about it.  They come in a couple of times a week, but I don’t need someone to clean up after me all the time.”

Victoria smiled, she liked Jake, he was so unpretentious for a multimillionaire.

Victoria sat on her chair across the table from Jake eating her pizza and slowly drinking her beer, “So why did you want to eat here tonight?

“Why, do you mind us not going out?  I would happily take you to any restaurant of your choice, it’s just that I wanted to get to know you a bit more when it is just the two of us, and usually there’s always someone I know when I’m out and I don’t want to get interrupted, or overheard and quoted in the papers tomorrow.”

Victoria nodded her head, she could imagine that being true.

“So tell me something I don’t know about you from your profile in the papers.”

He laughed, “Thankfully there’s a lot people don’t know about me.”

“You grew up in New York?”

“He nodded.

“So how did you come to be in Miami?”

“My Mother’s Puerto Rican and she lived in Miami.  She met my Dad when she was studying in New York and they lived there after they got married.  But my Mum’s side of the family still live here in Miami and we always came to visit.  I prefer the Miami way of life, it’s so much more laid back, and besides you can’t beat the weather here.”

“I agree with that, unless it’s torrential rain or a hurricane!”

Jake laughed, “Thankfully we don’t get too many hurricanes and nothing that’s been too bad.  As for the rain, well I guess we just get used to that and work our way around it.  At least it is still hot, I don’t do cold and wet.”  He took a swig of his beer and helped himself to another slice of pizza.

“So how did that go down with your parents, you moving out here?”

His smiled faded a bit.  “Like a ton of bricks.  Mum was okay, she was probably relieved and happy to have me out here.  Besides it gives her even more of an excuse to come out here to visit having me here.  But Dad, well let’s just say he didn’t take the news too well when I told him.”

“Why was that?  Are you close?”  Victoria knew she was digging where it was none of her business but she wasn’t getting any signs from Jake that he wanted her to stop so she suspected he wanted to share this more private part of him with her.

Jake took another swig of his beer and put his bottle back down on the table looking at it seriously, deep in thought, then he turned his attention back to Victoria.  “No we aren’t close.  Dad just always assumed as the oldest son that I would take over his business one day, but that’s not for me.  I didn’t want to do that and he wasn’t too happy about that, and still isn’t.  But it wasn’t like he didn’t have anyone else, my younger brother Michael works with my father and he will take it all over one day.”

“What type of business does your father have?”

“Old fashioned investments, real estate, hotel groups around the world, that sort of thing.”  He looked at Victoria and smiled tightly, “Between you and me Vicky, the extent of my father’s businesses and investments make me look like small-fry.  He is a very clever businessman and I would be very rich one day if I went into business with him and took it all over, but that’s not for me.  I don’t want to do that.”

“Oh like you’re not rich now?”

“Not like my father, he is very rich, a real multi-billionaire and a very powerful man.  You obviously haven’t done your homework on him.”

Victoria shook her head, she didn’t remember reading anything about Jake’s father in his bios and news cuttings.  She made a mental note to have a check up on him later just so she knew who he was.

“So anyway, I told Dad I was moving out here and starting up my own business, and he told me that I was being an idiot and I would fall flat on my face and amount to nothing.”

“What?”  Victoria couldn’t believe that someone could say or think that, especially his own father.

“Yeah, he didn’t think I would make a success of it, and by his standards I haven’t managed to mass the fortune he has, but I’m getting there.”

“Jake you are an incredible businessman and you have already made more money than most businesses will do in a lifetime.  You don’t need to compete with your father you know.”

“I know that, but when someone tells me that I am no good and I’m going to fail then I want to prove them wrong.”

Victoria saw the sadness in Jake’s eyes and she realised that no one could ever tell from the outside of a person what was going on the inside.  Jake looked like he had it all - the amazing life, the money, the cars, beautiful women, but he didn’t have the support of his father and probably always felt like he had something to prove, in a big way.

“I can understand that Jake but how long have you had your business and what have you achieved in that time?”

“It’s been about eight years since I started Creative Technology Holdings.  Then in addition to that I have two other smaller companies which have been open a couple of years.  One for real estate - I own properties and lease them out, that kind of thing, and the other is for premium alcohol – we have a few smaller vineyards who supply us with wines under our own label and we have our own brand of Vodka and Barcardi coming out later this year, which I am very excited about.”

“Wow Jake that is incredible!”

“So what about your mum, I bet she is really proud of you.”

“Yes she is.”  Jake smiled broadly, his mother was an incredible woman and he suspected it was his father’s stubbornness which had caused their divorce. “My parents divorced when I was in my early twenties and she remarried.  Her husband’s a nice guy, we should go out to dinner with them sometime, you’ll like my mother.”

Victoria nearly fell off her chair and quickly took a sip of her water this time.  Had she just heard Jake right?  Did he just suggest she meet his mother and they should all go out for dinner one night?

“Mmm that would be nice.”  She said letting it slip by thinking it probably was a throw-away invite and not really a serious one.  “And what about your brother Michael?”

“Yes Michael, he’s cool.  We get on very well and I see him as much as our diaries will allow.  He’s married with kids, a trophy wife and lives the New York high-life so we’re very different.  He’s pretty much given Dad everything he wants and I haven’t, but that doesn’t matter.  Michael and I get on great.”

“Is there anyone else in your immediate family?

“No that’s it.  Mum, dad and Michael.  It’s alright though, it’s just Dad who’s the difficult one.”  He said laughing humourlessly and raised his eyebrow as he took a bite of pizza.

Victoria thought it was sad to feel like you always had to match up to someone else’s expectations.  It must be hard to live like that, but as far as she could see Jake didn’t need to live up to anything, he was incredibly successful in his own right and a multi-millionaire already.  She shook her head thinking it was crazy.

After the pizza was finished Jake cut two slices of the lemon cheesecake.

“Let’s go chill-out on the sofa with dessert.”  He said as he carried their plates across and put them on the little coffee table in front of it.

Victoria made her way across the room and sat down on the large sofa pulling her legs up onto the seat next to her and pulled her robe a little tighter around her, fully aware that she was naked underneath and making sure it didn’t reveal too much.  Jake sat down next to her and handed her the plate and spoon.   She took a small spoonful felling conscious that Jake was just a foot away from her now and watching her intently.

“Go ahead, try it.”  he encouraged, this was his favourite dessert and he was sure she hadn’t tried it yet, no one make cheesecake like the Cheesecake Factory.

Victoria put the spoonful of cheesecake into her mouth and her taste buds almost exploded.  “Oh wow that’s delicious.”  She said eyes open wide with surprise at the full extent of the sweet lemony flavour.

“I told you it was good.  I’m glad you like it.”  He smiled feeling a mixture of happiness and smugness.

“I love it.”  Victoria said as she took another bite.

“So what would you like to do later?  It is just after nine o’clock now so we could go for a drink somewhere, or out to a club, or, and I haven’t done this for a long while, we could see what’s on at the cinema?  Whatever you want.”

“What do you want to do?”

For a moment Jake was quiet and he took a bite of his lemon cheese cake whilst he though.  Then finally he said, “I really don’t care, as long as I am with you.”

Victoria put down her plate and looked at Jake.  He had a relaxed smile on his face and he looked genuinely happy.  His dark hair wasn’t as neat as it was in the office and his long soft white towel robe sloped open at the neck revealing his tanned chest with a sprinkling of dark hairs.  Her fingers tingled to touch the hairs and she decided that considering things had already gone way too far already tonight she may as well take the ‘what-the-heck’ approach for the rest of it!  Victoria reached out and traced her forefinger along the opening of Jake’s robe and let her finger feel the heat of his skin.  He was hot even against the air conditioning of his apartment and she felt him draw in a breath.

“Then I don’t know if this is okay with you, but why don’t we stay here?”

Jake closed his eyes as he felt Victoria’s hand move flat against his chest and make its way inside his robe to explore his chest.  She shifted her position onto her knees and leant next to his ear.

“Maybe we can get a movie on this ridiculously big screen of yours here and chill out.  You can show me some of this amazing Miami night view, and we can just carry on talking a little more.  Just you and me.  What do you think?”

Jake’s arms snaked their way around her as he felt Victoria’s breath hot against his ear.  Still with his eyes closed as he relaxed against the sofa enjoying the feel of her hand exploring his chest, teasing his senses he asked, “If you are sure that’s what you want?  No trendy clubs or bar?  No expensive night out?”

“Not tonight, if you still want to take me out then we can do that another night.  But for tonight, no, that’s not what I want.”

Jake opened his eyes as he felt Victoria’s leg slide across his and she settled sitting astride him.  He couldn’t contain himself anymore, he had been a gentleman and had sat across the dinner table from her as she sat in nothing more than his bath robe, excruciatingly aware she was naked underneath, and he hadn’t touched her.  He hadn’t let his hands push the bath robe away from her shoulders like he wanted to, but now Victoria was sitting astride him on the sofa and he knew she wanted him just as much as he wanted her.

Jake’s hands moved to Victoria’s hair and lost themselves in the redness.  He drew her face close to his and took her lips with his own pushing his tongue deep into her mouth and kissed her like there was not tomorrow, even though he planned to kiss her like this tomorrow and the day after and all the days after that!  Victoria responded with hot kisses of her own and pushed away Jake’s robe.  She let her fingers explore the contours of his shoulder muscles and then down his body to his muscular ribcage and his abs.  He drew in a breath - he needed Victoria like he had never needed anyone before.  He pulled her mouth back to his and kissed her hard.  Pulling back he said against her lips, “Hold on a minute.”   Victoria nodded as Jake lifted her off him and he dropped his robe right where he sat and walked across the living room to a drawer and pulled out a little packet.

Victoria couldn’t keep her eyes off Jake, he was pure manly sex as he walked back to her with his desire evidently on display and his blue eyes full of darkness and passion.  It had only taken him a second to slide the thin sheath along himself and he was ready for her.  Swiftly he sat back down on the sofa and pulled Victoria onto his lap again, he loved the feel of the soft skin of the insides of her bare thighs as they pushed up against his.

“Where were we?”  He smiled.

“Right here.”  She said as she brought her lips back to Jake’s and kissed him as her fingers slid into his hair.

Victoria heard Jake groan as one arm slid around her waist holding her firmly and one hand slid between her legs finding what he was looking for.  Jake’s hand cupped Victoria.  She was hot and wet, and he let his fingers explore as she moved rhythmically against him.  He was ready, oh he was so very ready and he could have lowered her down onto his hardness and taken her right there and then, but he held off.  His fingers continued their onslaught as he drank in the sounds Victoria was making as she kissed his lips, his neck and his shoulders.   Jake loved how he was making her crazy with excitement, he loved that he could make her feel this way and held her tightly around the waist as he continued to tease her delicate flesh into abandonment.  As Victoria cried out with pleasure Jake finally lowered her gently down onto himself and felt her pulsate along each and every inch as he slid inside her.
