Chapter 32

The Secret Revealed

Joshua had wanted to keep quiet about the miracle child of Lillian and Markus. He wasn’t sure who he could trust and was unclear as to what was actually going to happen. After the confession at the meeting, though, and the destruction of the portal, he needed the help of several allies to come up with a solution to the ascension of the mystics and transfer of this special child.

Many in the group stayed close to the University, waiting for some answers. Marti and several others surveyed the damage to the portal building. It had been totally destroyed. Property destruction of this type was a rarity; acts such as these were no longer part of their culture. Yet someone had seen the need to stop what they were doing with the portal. It was obvious to everyone that they had something important to say. No one was quite sure what had happened at the portal until they received a communication through the net. This was shared publically.

We are called the “Earth Way.” The destruction of the portal was meant to prevent Earth people from reaching out to the other dimensions unnaturally. We feel that we on Earth can handle our own issues and do not want the mixed energy of the mystics to interfere. We believe in our own destiny as it stands. We welcome the mystics on Earth to assist in the growth of our society, but we are not ready to risk all that we have built on this planet.

“What do they want?” Jasmine asked as Talis and several others were waiting near the Council chambers.

“They want us to fulfill our own destiny,” Tythia explained.

“And is that what you believe?”

“I’m not sure anymore,” Tythia said as she looked out at the burned-out shell of the portal. “I certainly believe that we create our own destiny by our belief and by the efforts we make, but I also have strong kinship with the spirit world. I believe in peace and balance. And now the child; never before have we had such an issue.”

“And do you think we can reach out to the Earth Way?” Joshua inquired.

“Do we have time?” Talis asked.

Tythia turned to the group. “It is my turn to help now. I believe I can reach out and will attempt to talk with them. I have an idea that just might work. I shall return as soon as I can.” She left the group hurriedly as she knew there was little time.

Helena walked into the room where the group was gathered. During her quiet time, she had heard the conversation.

“Friends, this is a time to believe in the sincerity of the mystics. As Elders, we will have time to find peace with the people that oppose our connection with Lillian. But my intuition is we need to assist with the ascension and bring this divine child to Earth.”

Layia raised the question. “And how will we do this without the portal? We can enter our trance state to communicate, but this transfer will take a more powerful connection.”

The group was hushed as they humbly placed their faith in finding a solution. Many were trying to connect with spirit and intuition to find an answer. The silent inner time helped them connect.

Jasmine moved close to Talis, laying her hands on his shoulder. “Why don’t you go lie down, my love. We will tell you if we come up with anything.”

“Yes, okay,” he said as he got up. He gave her a small kiss and walked out into the chamber hallway. Talis found a comfortable coach, lay down and went deep within. He was exhausted.

“Talis, my son, is that you?”

Talis tried to wake up and open his eyes. He was in a different place.

“Where am I?” He looked around and recognized his childhood home. His grandfather was in the yard under the big oak tree that he remembered.

“Grandfather, is that you?” he shyly mumbled as he walked over to him.

“Talis, it is so good to see you.” He sat up and gave Talis a big hug.

“Am I seeing you in the spirit world through my dreams?

“Something like that, my dear boy. Come sit with me.”

Talis sat down beside his grandfather. It was a cool spring day. The flowers blooming, blossom fragrance in the air. It was peaceful and he sat back and relaxed.

“I guess you know what’s happening on Earth?” Talis inquired.

“Ah, Earth. Yes, I know. And I have a child soon returning to Earth!” Grandfather exclaimed.

“And the secret you wanted me to find out was your actions the night the mystics disappeared?”

“And that of the child,” Grandfather added matter-of-factly.

“What do you mean, the child? I thought you didn’t know?” Talis was confused.

Grandfather leaned his chair in close to Talis like he was going to tell him a secret.

“What are you saying, Grandfather? Please don’t speak in riddles; my life has been full of them recently.” Talis sat close, trying to listen.

Grandfather laughed. He was full of joy. Although he had always been affectionate toward Talis, his outward laughter was rare. “My boy, the spirit world works in mysterious ways. It is best to let go and just accept it.”

“How can I accept it if I don’t understand?” Talis asked.

“I was told that Lillian had moved to the other realm, although I still thought I had failed her.”

“So you knew she was in the other realm with the child?”

“I knew she was safe and that she had a gift for us in time. I was initially devastated by the loss of her. I missed her so much. I still felt a deep connection to her. Then when I learned of her survival, I was anxious to have her return, but knew that it would take much time before we were ready.”

“And who told you that she was with child?” Talis asked, becoming a bit weary of incomplete information.

“I was told by Jelina, before she joined Lillian and the others.”

“And what did you do?” Talis asked.

“I was even more confused at first. Not only had I let go of the woman I loved, but my child was also gone as well.”

“Did Jelina give you any hope?”

“She told me to be patient, trust in the larger vision, and in the future. That all things had a time of unfolding and that the child would eventually return to Earth. She eventually went to them to help us all.”

“And you trusted her with this?” Talis continued his questions.

“My boy, Jelina was the visionary mystic that brought us all together. Without her strength, you would not be in the world you now know. Her wisdom and dedication to the revolution was never questioned.”

Talis was beginning to understand the truth. “And you came here in my dream to tell me this?”

“I am telling you this because it is essential that you get the spirit child to Earth to help with the healing and bring the world to the next stage of evolution. You are now ready for this process.”

“And what of the destroyed portal and the Earth Way group?” Talis hoped Grandfather would give him a solution.

“They will see the truth of the matter once the child is born, perhaps sooner if you learn to work together.”

“And how will we get the child to Earth?”

Grandfather smiled and reached out to Talis. “It is already underway. Have trust in my friends and the larger forces at work. Remember, there is the seen and the unseen, and both are working simultaneously. The others did not mean to hide the truth, for they did not know its entirety. What they did was for the benefit of all, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Our world had to evolve to understand. Our cells had to adapt to the new way before we could take the next step.”

Talis was trying to grasp it all. “So the action you took was for the benefit of all? It was part of the larger plan for our transformation?”

“Yes, you could say that. It was painful, agonizing, and I wasn’t even sure about it myself, but I had to believe that it would work out, that we would succeed. It took me years to forgive myself. I never really felt whole, like something was missing. Yet I knew I had to keep faith in our future. Then when I saw Lillian again at my passing, it all made sense. I was at finally at peace.”

Talis was pondering it all, full of so many more questions, but he could tell that his time was ending. He was saddened by the fact that his grandfather was leaving again.

“Fear not my dear Talis. I will always be here with you. The secret has been told. Now I ask you to help me fulfill our vision.”

“Yes, Grandfather. I love you and won’t let you down.”

Grandfather smiled as the dream slowly faded. “And stay close to Jasmine. She is dear to us. I love you.” And with that he was gone.

Talis awoke on the sofa with Jasmine by his side. “Are you all right? You were talking in your sleep.”

Talis looked at her with love and was refreshed. “Yes, I am fine. I have talked with Grandfather. We need to bring the child home. He knew about it all the time.”

“He knew?” Jasmine asked, astonished at what he just said.

“Yes. It was the mystics’ plan all along. We were not ready to know until we had evolved.”

Jasmine smiled. She was beginning to understand also. What a great mystery unfolding.

“I have great news for you, Talis. We have found a place for the ascension, and the Earth Child returning to us. Tythia and Michael have assisted in making it so.”

Talis was ecstatic. “Where will it be done and who will do it?”

“Members of the Earth Way will escort us to the Earth Council in the Steen Mountains. It is here that all have agreed to conduct the transfer.”

“And how is this possible? How did they agree after destroying the portal?

Jasmine explained briefly. “The Earth Council is held in great esteem by the people, including the fringe groups. When they heard that there was a child of the earth conceived between Markus and Lillian, they were more receptive to the idea. Your grandfather was also held in high regard as an integral part of our revolution. If the members of the Earth Council can help the mystics ascend and the child be brought to Earth through the ancient shamanic ways, then they will accept this destiny.”

“And have the shamans agreed to do this?”

“Yes, my love. Of course they have. Although such a transfer has never been done.”

Talis thought about it all. It was really their only option and it seemed to be the right one. They had to believe that it would work.

“We need to prepare and get people ready.” Talis took Jasmine by the hand and raced down the hall to the others. They had much work to do.

Chapter 33

Journey to the Mountains

They had little time to prepare and journey to the Steen Mountains. The newest vactrain route would take them fairly close, after which they had to travel by robotic car. There was a fairly large caravan of travelers, including members of the Earth Way. The shamans at the village deep in the Steens were preparing for this important energy transfer.

Talis saw Tythia as they were preparing to go. He smiled at her and gave her a hug.

“Thank you for helping with this.”

“It was the least I could do after withholding the truth from you. We may have our differences with the mystics, but we have always believed in our vision of the new paradigm. We are not about to lose that. And any child of Markus is certainly welcome back to Earth!”

They both laughed, easing the tension of the last few days.

“Now let me introduce you to Arius and Elena of the Earth Way. They will be the main liaisons for their group.”

Arius and Elena both looked at Talis and bowed in greeting. Talis nodded back in politeness although he wasn’t quite sure how to react. The silence was a bit awkward for everyone standing there. They all knew there would need to be some healing done to rebuild trust. Perhaps on the journey they would have a chance to talk.

“We need to go soon. Pack it up!” Marti said to the others who were gathering for the train ride. The large group gathered their belongings and headed to the University station.

They had secured a special train to get them to the Steens quickly. Lillian, Jelina and the mystics had alerted them that the time was near. The University station was crowded with people to bid them farewell. The group made their way toward the train. The large crowd was full of excitement. A small drum circle and dancers entertained the audience as everyone entered the station.

Many from the Joint Council were there to greet them. This was a special time. In honor of the travelers, many in the Council dressed in their formal ceremonial dress, beautifully hand-woven from hemp and other organic fibers. Everything in these special clothes were made by local people from the bioregion. There was great pride when the crowd saw these outfits, as they were part of this energy. That was the way of their world: connected and unified. That alone would keep the energy stable, and that gave them hope.

A choir of seers sang a special sacred song and prayer. Jasmine led the group as they moved the energy and lifted the spirits of the crowd and the travelers.

Divine Spirit, hear our song. We are here with you.

Blessed be Mother Earth. You are us and we are you. Through the light and through the dark we see the way. We give a prayer, we sing our song.

We lift the energy of the One. We bow to thee.

We are children of the Universe.

Jasmine graciously bowed to all gathered at the station, and with a loving smile on her face boarded the train with the others. The Council and gathered crowd bowed back to the travelers with love.

Helena bid the travelers farewell with words of wisdom. “Go, my friends, and be well. Have faith that all will be fine. We need to remember our individual strength and power, how we affect the larger energy field. Everyone and everything on Earth is part of this field; we are separate, and we are One. We should acknowledge and celebrate that. We should support each other even more in this healing. We should forgive. When we acknowledge our experiences and let them be part of our existence, we grow wiser and become strong. It is up to each one of us to look within and let go of the fear.
Namaste
, my dear friends. We at the Joint Council bow to you in honor. Blessed be.”

The group boarded the train and waved goodbye. They were on their way.

As they left the University station and settled into their seats, a light conversation started among some in the group. They would also have time to rest and prepare for the next day’s events.

Joshua sat next to Talis and Jasmine. Tythia and Marti were close by. Layia and Tara were in the next cabin resting, as were several others. The members of the Earth Way, Arius and Elena, were also nearby. They would soon be going over the Cascades and on their way through the high desert.

“What a strange journey it has been,” Joshua noted lightly. He was glad to be on the train bound for the Earth Council.

Talis looked at him and smiled. “It sure has been, my friend, and it’s not over yet.”

“No, it’s only just begun,” Joshua replied back as he thought of his responsibilities.

Jasmine perked up and added her thoughts. “We are thankful that it all worked out in time. The universe was working with us.”

Joshua spoke louder so the others could hear. “And I am sure thankful the Earth Way decided to help us.”

Arius and Elena looked over and smiled slightly. Then Arius spoke up. “We understand you don’t think highly of what we did to the portal, but please understand that we believe in our society as much as you do.”

“Then why did you destroy the portal and try to sabotage it earlier?” Talis asked calmly. Everyone was listening by now.

Arius tried her best to explain. “We do not believe in violence against a living being. The earlier sabotage was not intended to harm anyone, and we are very sorry for that. The portal itself was not supposed to function before your initial journey. It is only because of that mishap that we elected to destroy the device before it was used a third time.”

Everyone was quiet as she continued. “We did this all because there are many of us that believe in the power of our own faith and the strength of our own actions. We focus on what we have done as a people here on Earth rather than on the heavens above. What we do in our lives here on Earth and how we live is the key. We believe that is what made our revolution succeed: we changed the system and the institutions by our actions. The mystics may have helped, but it is you and I here on Earth that make the difference.”

Jasmine spoke up. “But why do you think the mystics would upset that balance?”

Elena took over to help her friend. “We have nothing against the mystics, but we do not think we are ready to connect with the spirit world in such a direct way. We feel it is unnatural, not of the earth.”

“So you are fearful that it would disrupt our way of life?” Talis asked.

“We are afraid that it would affect the quantum field and the natural flow of energy here on Earth,” Elena said.

Marti was interested in the quantum field comment. “Interesting. Yes, I see the point. Yet you are open to the shamans of the Earth Council to connect with this energy?”

“We are open to it because it is an ancient tradition based on earth energy, on the Earth Mother, and on our own human biology and energy. The shamanic tradition goes back thousands of years and is part of a balanced way of life on Earth. We trust in this grounded energy.”

Jasmine was trying to understand their distrust of the mystics. “Don’t you think we are intended to evolve, and that this change to our consciousness and our DNA will be inevitable anyway? Why can’t the mystics be part of this evolution?”

“If the Earth shamans can connect with the mystics, we have no disagreement with you,” Arius said quickly. “We want our evolution to be controlled by our means, though. It is the way of our society. Our Elders from the uprising taught us this. We are in control of our destiny by both our belief and our actions here on Earth. We believe that we all are empowered to be mystics and shamans in our own way. We do not look to some higher power to solve our issues. Each individual action that we take contributes to the whole. That is what is changing our DNA, not the mystics.”

“And did the Earth Child have anything to do with your decision?” Talis inquired.

Arius and Elena were quiet for a moment.

“We are honored to bring the child of Markus and Lillian to Earth if the shamans can do so,” Elena said quietly. “We are unsure how the child will affect the future, but are prepared to take that chance with you.”

The train quickly passed over the mountains and was well on its way to their destination as the conversation quieted down. Everyone knew that they would need to get some rest. Jasmine and Talis lay close to each other, hand in hand, their legs wrapped around one another.

“I love you, Jasmine,” Talis said in a gentle tone. She kissed him and stroked his head lightly. Talis suddenly heard the echo of his grandfather’s voice repeating what he had said in the dream. “Stay close to Jasmine. She is dear to us.” He pondered what Grandfather meant as he closed his eyes, getting sleepy with her gentle touch.
