Author’s Letter

Dear Reader,

It’s always a bittersweet moment when I finish a book. While I’m happy to have the manuscript ready to send to my editor, at the same time I hate to say good-bye to the characters. Reaching the end of
Tomorrow’s Garden
was particularly poignant, since it’s the final book in the Texas Dreams trilogy, and that meant leaving Ladreville and its inhabitants.

Though it’s time to say farewell to Ladreville, it’s also a time for new beginnings, namely the start of a new trilogy. I invite you to join me for a series set in my home, Wyoming. In what I’ve tentatively named the Wyoming Winds trilogy, three sisters find love, adventure, and deeper faith in a territory on the verge of statehood. Faced with everything from stagecoach robberies to blizzards to murder, they learn that only strong women survive on the windswept prairie. The first book will be available in the spring of 2012.

Meanwhile, if this is your first Texas Dreams book, I hope you’ll read the others.
Paper Roses
, the first of the trilogy, tells the story of Sarah’s arrival in Ladreville and her rocky road to romance. Though you know that she and Clay have a happy ending, I assure you it wasn’t always certain. And, if you were intrigued by Lawrence’s infatuation with Priscilla, don’t miss
Scattered Petals
, the second in the series. In it you’ll learn how they met and how Priscilla, who was looking for adventure, found that love may be the greatest adventure of all. But first she had to surmount almost impossible obstacles.

One of the things I truly enjoy is hearing from readers, and so I encourage you to visit my website (
www.amandacabot.com
). It includes an email link, my snail mail address, and information about my books. It also has discussion guides for readers’ groups. Please let me know what you’ve enjoyed about my stories and what you’d like to see next.

Until we meet again, I send you blessings and remind you of Isaiah 12:2: “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”

Acknowledgments

It takes a team of talented, dedicated professionals to turn an author’s words into a finished book like the one you’re holding. I am blessed to have such a team working on my stories. My publisher’s staff is, without exception, a true delight. If I listed everyone at Revell who’s helped me along the journey to publication, I’d fill several pages and would still run the risk of missing someone. But I do want to single out two women, without whom the Texas Dreams trilogy would not have been possible.

First, my agent, Joyce Hart. Joyce is a consummate professional who’s always provided me with excellent advice. Just as importantly, she believed in these books from the beginning and kept assuring me that she would find the perfect editor for them. She did.

Vicki Crumpton is—at least in my estimation—the perfect editor. Her insights and sense of humor make the dreaded revision process enjoyable, and her confidence in my writing helps me through the inevitable middle-of-the-book slump. She is, quite simply, fabulous.

I am deeply grateful to Joyce, Vicki, and the entire Revell team for their support.

Dreams have always been an important part of
Amanda Cabot’s
life. For almost as long as she can remember, she dreamt of being an author. Fortunately for the world, her grade-school attempts as a playwright were not successful, and she turned her attention to writing novels. Her dream of selling a book before her thirtieth birthday came true, and she’s been spinning tales ever since. She now has more than twenty-five novels to her credit under a variety of pseudonyms.

Amanda is a member of ACFW, a charter member of Romance Writers of America, and an avid traveler. She married her high school sweetheart, who shares her love of travel and who’s driven thousands of miles to help her research her books. A few years ago they fulfilled a longtime dream and are now living in the American West.
