Even though it was right after the holidays, the traffic wasn’t so bad

We drove into a car park near where we were going and

she quickly backed into a parking spot. She didn’t even look back, which I guess meant that she’s used to driving.

‘You’re good at parking aren’t you?’ I said

‘I’m rubbish with other cars’ was her reply.

We left the car park.

There weren’t as many people on the pavement as usual so it was pretty easy for us to walk side by side

after we walked for a bit, she reached for my wrist. I quickly said, ‘It feels kind of strange,’ as I flipped my wrist and grabbed her hand.

She smiled at me and said ‘You’re right, this feels much better.’

I was burnin’ up inside. When I squeezed her hand, she squeezed back.

This really was the best thing ever

We got to the shop. We were holding hands in the shop too but man, it’s kind of embarrassing you know . . .

We went to the laptop corner and I showed her a few of the ones I had my eye on. For a moment, the old me was about to surface but I squashed him down and got over it. She said ‘I think I’ll go with this one’ and picked the one I recommended most.

We picked a modem and also got some leaflets for ISPs. She paid everything in one go on her card. How cool, I mean, how cool is she.

We got the assistant to wrap it up so we could carry it and I took the bag.

‘Oh, I’m sorry . . . ’

‘No, don’t worry. It’s heavy,’ I said, picking up both the PC and modem.

Outside, she grabbed the smaller bag and reached for my hand with her other hand.

I’m gonna take a little break now . . .
But I’m not going to bed

We get back to the car park and put the bags in the boot.

After closing it, she reached for my PC-carrying hand and said ‘I’m sorry. It was heavy, wasn’t it,’ not to me but as if to my hand.

she covered my hand with hers and rubbed the marks from the handle.

hot hot very hot

I also rubbed the hand she used to carry her bag.

When I tried to pay for parking she, of course, said no.

As we headed out of the car park, she said ‘Getting hungy?’ and we decided to head for the place we’d chosen.

And off we drove.
