Alex yawned as he pulled into the hotel parking lot. He left his car with the valet and grabbed his bag. He called Eve as soon as he got into the city limits. She had agreed to meet him in the lobby bar.

He walked into
the bar as the jazz band played a soft, smooth song. He grinned as he spotted her as she waited at the bar for him. She was in a short black dress that wrapped around her waist. Her red high heels stood out as they emphasized her long legs. Her blond hair was pulled up into the sexiest wild bun he ever saw.

She turned and smiled as she spotted him. He walked over to her and put his hand around his waist.

"Hello Gorgeous," he said as he kissed her lightly. "You look absolutely beautiful."

"Thank you. I have tried to keep the swarm of men away until you arrived
."

Alex smirked. "I'm so happy you did. I would hate to have to punch some guy in the throat."

Eve laughed, "My hero."

"How was your tour at the gallery?"

"It was great. It's a lovely place, slightly bigger than your place but it doesn't have the same charm. Kate says that everything is perfect."

"So, we have our evening free then, right?" Alex asked.

Eve nodded. "What do you have planned?"

Alex leaned in and whispered in her ear, "You, me, upstairs, now."

Eve groaned softly. "Lead the way."

They woke up a couple hours later wrapped in each other arms. Alex couldn't help but smile and he realized how perfect that moment was. He didn't want to give her up or leave her. He knew at that mom
ent he needed her in his life.

"Eve?" Alex softly said.

She moved so she could look into his eyes. Her fingertips gently moved over his chest. "What's on your mind? You look so distant right now."

"I want to talk
to you about your offer."

"Sure, what do you want to know?" she asked giving him
her full attention.

"I'm concerned about my gallery and my life in
Buffalo."

Eve n
odded. "Of course you would be. I would be worried if you didn't have those thoughts."

"I can't give up my gallery. It was my dream. I love everything about that place. But, I can't leave you, Eve. You are in my system and I want to see where this can go."

Eve blushed. "I understand those feelings, believe me. Why don't we try it this way for a start? After Pittsburgh, you can head back to Buffalo. I have a month break before my next show. I'm using the time to work on new pieces. You can field any questions or concerns about my upcoming shows from your office. You have an amazing assistant now. Beth can handle the every day business and your sister was willing to step in when she is needed."

Alex traced his fingers across her cheek. "I told you that I can't lose you right now. While I'm in
Buffalo working out our business, where are you going to be?"

"I have a life in
California, Alex. My family is there so I need to go home for a little bit to see them. But if the offer still stands, I would love to come back to Buffalo in a couple of weeks and use your spare room to paint."

Alex smiled warmly at her. "But, where would you stay?"

"I could always get a hotel room but I hope that someone would offer me a room. It would give us a chance to spend more time together. While you were at work, I could paint."

Alex rolled her onto her back and looked down at her. "Let's give it try. I would love to manage your career
."

She smiled one of her million dollar smiles at him. "You won't regret your decision, Mr. Smith."

"I look forward to starting a new chapter in my life and I'm honored that you want to be apart of it, Ms. Matthews."

Alex kissed her lips and sighed. He was nervous
as he tried his hand at another angle of the art world but with Eve by his side, he knew he could handle it.
