His eyes shot up to my face, concerned. “Are you cold?”

“No, I’m just embarrassed.” I turned my head to the side.

The next thing I knew he was lying over me, his weight supported by his arms, on his elbows on either side of my head.

“Jenny look at me.” I reluctantly turned my head to make eye contact with him. He looked serious.

“You lying here like this, your legs spread wide for me…this is the most beautiful sight I can imagine. Even better than I dreamed. And it was pretty terrific as a dream.” He spoke quietly, tenderly, and I relaxed, enjoying his nearness and his words.

He sat back, grabbing a pillow off the floor. “Lift your head,” he instructed, and when I did so he slipped the pillow underneath me gently. “Now don’t look away again.” With that he slid down the bed, his head inches above my body, until his face was positioned right between my thighs. I kept my eyes locked on him, biting my lower lip nervously. He grinned at me and then lowered his face to my core, nuzzling me so that his lip ring scratched me lightly, which made me blush for what must have been the umpteenth time that day. Then he started licking and sucking me energetically. I was already so wet and getting wetter, and the loud slurping sounds were turning me on even more. He slipped his tongue inside me and then pulled out to lick me with a flat tongue like a cat. Every few seconds, his hot eyes would flick up to mine, gauging my reaction and adjusting accordingly. I started panting and the warmth spread through me. My body seemed to have a mind of its own. Callum’s wide shoulders kept my legs spread open, but I wrapped my feet around his back and rubbed against his mouth as I built toward release. His eyes looked amused at my intense reaction to his laving. Soon I was keening, and I grabbed hold of his hair with one hand to help steady myself as I squirmed on the bed. I closed my eyes and Callum suddenly stilled.

My eyes shot open, desperate and needy. “Please Callum …”

“Eyes on me baby.” There was that command again.

I nodded and he resumed his labors, bringing me right to the brink. I could hear myself begging for release and with a nod of assent he granted it to me, sending fireworks shooting through my body as I exploded under his mouth. I bucked my hips higher and kept my eyes on his all the while, calling his name over and over. He kept licking me without stopping until the orgasm was fully over. I lay back, completely drained, and then realizing what I must look like with my legs splayed open, I brought my knees together and rolled to the side. Callum stood up. I didn’t dare look at him.

After a moment he spoke. “Are you feeling shy? Don’t be shy. That was beautiful.” He was speaking softly, as if to a wild animal that might bolt. He didn’t realize I was more afraid I would run toward him than away from him. I felt a rustle and looked over to see him placing my panties and shorts down next to me. Without looking at him I sat up and pulled my pants and shorts back on.

Once I was dressed I glanced toward the foot of the bed where he was standing. He was staring at me with a curious mixture of smugness and pain, and my eyes traveled down to see that his shorts were distended from an enormous erection.

He started to turn away from me but I called out, “Oh no you don’t.” My voice was husky but firm.

He paused, wary. I sat up and scooted down to the edge of the bed, so that I was facing him, and I grabbed hold of the waistband of his shorts. “My turn.”

He sighed, pulling away. “This isn’t a good idea.”

“Oh yes, it’s a very good idea.” I was not taking no for an answer.

Callum looked hesitant, but he wasn’t walking away. I slid to my knees in front of him, and pulled his shorts down. He swallowed loudly. He was going commando and his cock sprang free, throbbing with pressure. I ran my fingers down it, exploring, and Callum groaned. “You don’t have to”-

I cut him off. “Hush now. This is so happening.” I leaned forward to welcome him into my mouth. He gave in then and allowed me to pleasure him, his eyes never leaving my face. At one point his hands found my hair and he grabbed my ponytail, guiding me in and out. I had administered a few blow jobs in my day but never with the care I gave to this one. It helped too that I had learned some good tips at my cousin Stephanie’s bachelorette party last summer, ones I was anxious to try out now. If he wouldn’t let me kiss him I would show him how I felt through this blow job. From the primal grunts and moans he was clearly enjoying it. When he finally came, thrusting into my mouth, I sucked down every drop. His knees gave way and he collapsed on the floor, his shorts pooled around his ankles, his hands covering his eyes.

I felt thrilled by his reaction, and touched by his vulnerability lying there. I leaned forward and planted a gentle kiss on his still hard dick before sitting back on my heels. He pulled his hands from his eyes and watched me strangely as I got to my feet.

“See you tomorrow.” I felt awkward and needed to go. He just nodded at me, looking dazed and at a loss for words.

When I walked out he was still lying on the floor where I’d left him, his hands back over his eyes.

Chapter 20

Sunday afternoon I was completely distracted during swim lessons, daydreaming of Callum’s mouth. It was a lucky thing that no kids drowned. It didn’t escape me that nothing about my make-out sessions with Bryce could compare with Callum’s. I facetimed with Tina as soon as she got back from her trip and she was happy for me, but for the first time there was a note of caution in her voice. “What’s with the no kissing thing? Callum sounds a little damaged. And you’ve got to sort out the situation with Bryce.” I brushed her off at the time but deep down I knew she was right.

Monday morning my heart pounded as I got to school, thinking about seeing Callum, not Bryce. I stifled the guilt over my betraying heart and scanned the halls for Callum. But it was Bryce who found me before first period, his arm snaking around my waist as I stuffed books in my locker. “Hey sugar, so when are we going to finish what we started on Saturday?”

He nuzzled into my neck, and I let him. Even if nothing had happened Saturday, I still knew I would need to put out sooner rather than later. “Let’s hang out this weekend,” I suggested.

“Sounds good. If I can wait that long.” He grinned, showing off his dimples to great effect. “See you at lunch babe.”

After first period I spotted Callum with his back to me, talking to Connor outside the Music room. I hurried over to say hi, unable to play it cool. I was just about to call out when I heard my name. Connor was talking.

“So Jenny, huh? You owe me for Saturday bro.” I stood a few feet behind them, my ears alert now. What was he talking about?  I knew I shouldn’t eavesdrop but couldn’t help it.

Connor continued. “I’m not big on cock blocking but Bryce is a tool. And she’s smoking. You tapped that ass yet?”

I could feel myself flushing as I realized what Connor and Theo had done, purposefully triggering that smoke alarm to interrupt Bryce and me.

Before I had a chance to think about that, Callum replied, “No, but I’m working on it.” His voice was so cold it chilled me. I was just a piece of meat? My heart fell.

“You serious about her or is this about fucking with Bryce?” Connor sounded interested. I held my breath, waiting for Callum’s response. When it came out, it was even worse than I thought.

“Nah, I’m not into her. But the whole tutor thing is hot and fucking with Bryce adds to the fun. You know me, I love a challenge.”
Oh hell no
.

I let out a hiss and both boys turned around, Callum’s face turning ashen.

I knew my eyes were blazing as I stared at Callum and spat out, “Don’t ever come near me again, you arrogant jerk.”

As I spun around I heard Connor chuckle and say, “Looks like your challenge just went extreme, dude.”

Callum called out “Jenny, wait!” but I ran down the hall and out the side door, heading toward the football field. I couldn’t leave school because it was a closed campus, but I knew where to go to be on my own. There was no way I could go to Spanish class in this condition. I sat down on the ground under the bleachers, crying my eyes out. My phone had rung while I was driving: Callum. I ignored it. I needed to make sense of this situation. After a few calls, the ringing stopped and the texts started coming in, from Callum. I turned my phone off. I didn’t flatter myself that these showed he cared. Quite the opposite. He just was rising to the new
challenge
. All this time I had thought there was a connection with him, that he had feelings for me, maybe not as strong as mine for him but that there was still something there. Instead he just saw all this as a game. He interfered with me and Bryce. Poor Bryce, I had been betraying him all the time. True we weren’t exclusive and I knew he’d hooked up with other girls in the past couple months but I didn’t doubt that I was first in his heart at least, which was more than he could say about me. How could I have made such a mistake? I was desperate to talk to Tina but I knew she was in class. So I called someone else.

Ben picked up on the third ring. “Hey sis, how goes it?” It was very unusual for me to call him, but if he was surprised, he didn’t let on. “OK.” I said, though from my wavering voice I clearly was not OK.

“What’s wrong? What is it?” Ben sounded very concerned.

My lip quivered as I reassured him there was no one dead or dying in the family, it was just boy trouble, but that it hurt like a mother anyway. “I could really use some advice, from a guy, because I can’t understand how I was so wrong about him.” I started sobbing at that point, but pulled it together enough to tell him the whole story.

“Jenny I know you’re hurt and pissed and I don’t know exactly what this asshole is thinking but I have to say as a guy I read this situation in a different way. You and this Callum kid are playing this game and you both know that it’s a dangerous one that you have to keep quiet about. But not saying anything is not enough, is it, because you need to tell an alternative story. And that means lying. As a girl you need to tell your friends that you are not attracted to him. That is what you’re telling them, isn’t it?”

“Yes.”

“If you had been honest with Bryce about what you’ve been doing with Callum, the football team would have beaten him to a pulp long since. So you’re telling them you don’t like him at all, aren’t you Jenny?”

“Yup.”

Ben continued. “Callum’s story has to be different though. The guys wouldn’t believe him if he said he wasn’t attracted to you. So he tells them instead that he does want you and is trying at least to seduce you, but that he has no feelings for you. That is what they expect him to say and so they believe him. What you heard was him telling that story.”

I thought about his theory for a moment. “OK I see what you mean,” I finally conceded. “Maybe you’re right. But it’s hard not to take this at face value and feel really hurt.”

Ben laughed. “I know. And it’s always possible that he’s just trying to get laid. He’s a horny 18 year old after all.” His voice grew serious. “You need to talk to him.”

“I’m too mad to do that right now.”

“Fair enough. Cool down and then hear what he has to say. And keep my reading of the situation in mind. Listen, I was in a meeting when you called so I should get back to it”-

“What, I yanked you out of a meeting for this? And here I have been droning on! I’m so sorry!”

“Jenny you never call me, so I figured it was important. And it was.”

“Have I ever told you what an awesome brother you are?”

“No, but I’m happy to hear it now. Call me to tell me what happens.”

After my talk with Ben I felt much better, but now my sadness was channeled into anger at Callum. Ben’s theory was tempting to believe but I wasn’t convinced. We would talk, but in the meantime I would rub it in his face how happy I was with Bryce. I dried my eyes and reapplied make-up, looking in my pocket mirror. I fixed my hair and practiced some smiles. I wanted to go back to class like I wanted an armpit wax, but I had an assignment due in English, and I wouldn’t give Callum the satisfaction of seeing how much he’d hurt me.

I walked back, subdued but resolute about keeping it together. I survived English, although I kept silent in discussion, which was unusual for me. Then it was lunchtime. I found Lacey and Alex by Lacey’s locker, and was thankful to walk into the cafeteria with them. While standing in line, out of the corner of my eye I could see Callum sitting with Theo, Connor and the usual female hangers on, but I didn’t look over. I chatted with Lacey and Alex. I knew Lacey could see I wasn’t my normal self but she didn’t inquire. We got our food, which I had no appetite for, and headed to our usual table. Bryce and the other boys were already seated and eating. I had never been so happy to see Bryce, flashing him my best smile. He seemed slightly dazed, and I realized I hadn’t been sharing that look with him much lately. It took all my will power not to look Callum’s way.

Instead I looked around the table and made an exaggerated pout. “There are no empty chairs left.”

Lacey said, “Bryce, get her one.”

Bryce would have done so but I put my hand on the back of his neck and said, purring, “How about I just sit on your lap instead?”

Kai let out a whistle and the others at the table collectively chuckled. Bryce’s eyes widened with shock and amusement.

“My lap, my face, feel free to sit anywhere babe.” He was wearing his cockiest grin. Kai and Joe snickered. I sat down sideways on his lap and slung my arm around his neck. I leaned down to whisper in his ear, “You feel good.”

“Oh baby I’m feeling great right now and I want us both to feel even better.” He said it quietly but not quietly enough, as the whole table started giggling more.

I swung around and straddled him with my legs, our chests pressed together, and kissed him hard with my hands in his hair.

I sensed that people were watching us and I heard someone in the cafeteria holler, “Get a room!”

He was a good kisser and I was a decent actress and we must have looked pretty intense, because it wasn’t long before a stern “Ahem” pulled us apart. Ms. Dabiski, a math teacher on lunch duty, told us to cut it out. I swung back around as Bryce sighed.

Our table was laughing heartily at us. “Thanks for the show, you two,” Joe said.

Lacey smirked. “One person didn’t enjoy it.”

I looked at her questioningly, waiting for her to say what I wanted to hear.

“Your tutee looked like he would have killed both of you with his bare hands if he could. Theo was trying to bring him down. Then he stormed out of the cafeteria.” Vengeance felt sweet, even though my heart was still shattered.

Bryce laughed humorlessly. “Serves that prick right. He needs to know you’re mine, Jenny.”

We bused our trays. I had eaten exactly nothing of my lunch, but no one had noticed because of my performance with Bryce. As Bryce and I parted outside the cafeteria, he leaned forward to speak low in my ear, “Goddamn it Jenny I’m not going to be able to think straight for the rest of the afternoon, and we have that fucking football trip after school. I cannot wait till this weekend. I have to finish this sooner. I’ll call you later.”

I nodded as he nibbled my ear before heading off down the hall.

I wondered how I would survive Calc, and hoped Callum wouldn’t show up. He wasn’t there when I slid into my seat but a few minutes later he came in. As soon as I saw him I looked down, my eyes on my notes from the previous class. He walked down my aisle and I prayed he would continue past me to his seat but he paused in front of my desk. I didn’t look up.

“Jenny.” He dropped down to a crouch in front of me. I couldn’t ignore him because that would be immediate cause for gossip, so I glanced up at him, willing my eyes to be icy.

“What?” I tried to sound bored. He glared at me.

“I need to talk to you.” His voice was harsh. We both glanced around, noticing that the nearby students were watching our interaction with interest. He added, “About the notes I missed.”

I glared back. “You really fucked up missing those classes. I don’t know if my notes will be enough to help you.”

I heard Drew, who was sitting next to me, mutter, “Wow she’s a hard ass tutor, I’m glad she’s not mine.”

Callum persisted. “I know, but I really need them.”

The boy on the other side of me said, “Geez Jenny, have a heart and loan him the notes.” I shot a death glare at him too, and he threw up his hands in mock surrender.

After a moment of tense silence I relented, rather than come across as a total bitch to the students who were following this exchange. Without looking at Callum, I spat out, “OK, but today’s not good. I’ll see if I can find some time in the next few days.”

“No, I need to get started studying tonight. It has to be today.”

“Fine. Text me later.” I snapped, dismissing him. I wanted to end this conversation and decide later what to do.

But Callum didn’t budge. “No. We’re setting it up now. Your phone doesn’t seem to be working.” He was speaking through gritted teeth.

Seeing he wasn’t going to give up, I said, “OK. Starbucks at 8pm.” There was no way I was meeting him at either my house or his house and risk falling under his spell.

He seemed about to protest but Mr. F called out that class was starting so Callum got to his feet, nodding curtly at me.

I ignored him the rest of class and bolted out of the room when the bell rang. Lacey was waiting at my locker. “Why is your phone off? I’ve been trying to reach you,” she said, slightly exasperated.

“It’s out of juice, sorry.”

“Anyway, I wanted to see if you want to get a mani-pedi with me right now? I’m in desperate need.” She held out her hand as proof, but her nails looked perfect to me.

“Sure! That sounds fun.” Anything for a distraction. We drove in separate cars to the salon and settled into adjacent chairs. The warm water coursing over my feet felt soothing.

As we flipped through some gossip magazines we talked casually while the women worked in efficient silence on our feet and hands. I tried to block out thoughts of Callum, encouraging Lacey to talk about Kai.

Lacey eventually brought up the topic I was expecting. “So you were cute at lunch today. Kind of unexpected, after our chat on Saturday.”

I was prepared for this. “I decided I need to give Bryce a fair shot, and not be so timid. I’m ready for him.”
