He silently regarded me. It irritated me that he could unnerve me with just one look.
“I’m just calling it like I see it, Mr. McKay. I will not use my business for anything illegal.”
He scowled. “Many years ago, I might have used you for that…and more. But now I’m a legitimate businessman.”
My stomach twisted into knots. I was between a rock and a hard place, and legally, there was nothing I could do.
“What else do you want, McKay?” I asked.
I anxiously licked my bottom lip at the strange surges of energy rolling off him in waves.
His eyes traveled from my face to my body and then back again. “Oh, darling, I can’t begin to tell you all the things I want from you. They would send your gorgeous ass running from this room.” He puffed on his cigar. “But the question is, what do you want, Ms. Michaels?”
Is he out of his damn mind?
As hot as he was, I wouldn’t fuck him even if his cock were made of solid gold.
“I want you to let me out of this fucking deal,” I snapped.
McKay laughed coldly. “Not going to happen. Next.” He all but sneered.
“If you wanted to, you could,” I responded.
He didn’t reveal anything in his expression. “I’m in the business of making money, not losing it. The deal remains.” There was a tight note in his voice.
Lifting my chin, I continued to hold his stare. For several minutes, I didn’t say anything as he continued to watch me.
“This is fucking ridiculous,” I snapped. “It might be illegal, too.”
“Even you don’t really believe that shit.” The hardness of his voice sent chills down my spine.
I bit back the expletive hovering on my tongue. I knew I would be tied to him forever. Judging by his focused gaze, that was exactly what he wanted.
“And how long is this business arrangement going to last?”
“Until I determine the debt has been paid in full,” he bit out, letting his words sink in for a few seconds.
My blood froze in my veins. “Fuck you! You might own the company, but you don’t own me.”
His hands clenched and unclenched before he caught me by the arm and pressed me against the wall. In one swift move, he pinned my arms above my head. His tongue swept into my mouth while his other hand grabbed the back of my head with unleashed fury.
The last shreds of my ironclad control disintegrated as his mouth devoured and stroked me with a controlled sensuality that made my cunt clench from emptiness. My mouth widened, and I pushed my tongue into his. I groaned, tasting the hint of coffee and cigar. My head spun out of control as I kissed him back with all the pent-up anger, passion, and the most damning attraction that I had been denying. Shamefully, I wanted him like no other. My stomach plummeted with the sudden realization that this man would be my undoing.
As if he could read my mind, he abruptly broke off the kiss and stared at me with knowing, hard eyes. “I might not own you now, but I will,” he responded with a steely voice before stepping back from me.
I stood there against the wall, trembling like a fool, as I watched him turn around and stride over to his wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
“Now you may go, Ms. Michaels,” he hissed, effectively dismissing me.
For several minutes, I just stared at his wide back in shock. Finally, I gathered what was left of my pride and walked out of the room. On shaky legs, I stepped into the elevator and pressed my head against the wall as my mind clouded over with confusion. I swallowed hard as the door slid closed.
Just when I’d thought that I made peace with the universe and success was within my reach, fate had thrown me the ultimate middle finger. Tears rolled down my cheeks as regret and dread washed over me.
I just made a deal with the fucking devil.
A shudder ran down my spine at the thought.
“Damn it!”

BREAKING THE STORM
(Book One of the Credence Curse Series)
AVAILABLE NOW!
My love for him would kill him. I wanted him, anyway.
I never wanted a man like I wanted Knox. He cast a spell on me with his music, and I was ready to sacrifice my body on the altar of his love. I had to have him, even if it drove me mad, even if it drove him to an early grave.
As an empath, I lost everyone I’d ever loved. Would I love Knox to death?
EXCERPT FROM BREAKING THE STORM
I instantly recognized the heavy, sensuous beat of the music as it thumped and echoed throughout the room. Damn those two. They picked Knox’s hit single for me to dance to. I blew out anxiously, feeling like I was about to throw up. Damn, maybe I should just concede victory to Knox and go home with my tail between my legs. That’s when I saw Knox with his wide muscular back deliberately turned away from me, in what I knew was an intentional you’re not even worth paying attention to slap in the face. Okay, Mr. Gunner, it’s time to wipe that fucking disdain from your face.
“Let’s get ready to rumble…New York style,” I mumbled under my breath as I paraded about a bit before strutting my stuff. Releasing all of the tension, my body relaxed, fully taking in the magnitude of the utter power and sexiness of my captive audience. Unleashed dominance pulsed around me. Yep, I could do this. It was Seduction 101, and from the lustful hooded stares of the men that were now sitting up at attention, they were very interested in seeing exactly what I brought to the freaky boardroom.
Licking my lips seductively, I flipped my hair, strutting forward with a deliberate sway to my hips. Chest out. Head up. My gaze swept to every man as a hush filled the room. Knox turned around, giving me a blank stare.
The lights flashed while the music wove a hard rhythm around me. I loosened the tie, running it through my hands seductively, then over my shoulders. A man with sexy black hair peppered with grey at the temple beckoned me over with a nod. Placing one foot directly in front of the other, I strutted over, proud and sexy.
Twirling the tie in my hand a couple of times before leaning forward with my stomach in and ass out, I swung the tie around his neck to draw him close. Gracefully swaying my hips from left to right as his eyes followed my hips in perfect synchrony. Releasing my grip on the tie and with a simple lift of my leg, my heel dug into his wide, muscular shoulder. His eyes dilated, turning a light yellow. A tiger-shifter. Bumping my hips sensually, I glanced at the wide-screen. The bid was at $80,000.
“Absolutely beautiful,” he said with a sexy Texas drawl. He pressed the button, moving the highest bid to $110,000. “You, I definitely want.”
“Tiger, you might be asking for way more trouble than you can handle,” I responded with a wink before digging my heel deliberately farther into his broad shoulder, knowing that the pinch of my heel would give him what he wanted—pain. A growl rumbled deep in his chest, his hands clenching his glass. Just like I thought, the tiger was into pain. He pressed the bid button again.

WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES
(Book Two of the Credence Curse Series)
AVAILABLE NOW!
He’s flawed, but I want him.
When I get him, I can’t get enough. I know he’s bad for me, but being bad never felt so good.
“I would love to see what else your dirty little mouth can do.”
I couldn’t wait to show him.
EXCERPT FROM WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES
In a blink of an eye, before I realized what I was doing, I walked over to him, straddling him and cupping his face.
His sea-green eyes snapped open. “Light? What the hell are you doing?” The deep timber of his voice sent a shiver down my spine. Damn, it was sexy. “I’m spiraling out of control. And when I get like this, I’m dangerous. And nothing can calm my beast except time to cool down.”
I didn’t move. Instead, I ran a finger across the scar on his left eyebrow. Strangely, he leaned his face into my hands tenderly, wrapping his arms around my back. I tried not to blink in shock. Dammit, he was turning out to be exactly the opposite of what I envisioned. Despite his hard, steel demeanor, I felt the passionate streak that ran through his core. He actually cared about his pack and others. This wasn’t what I envisioned him to be as an Alpha from a ruthless bloodline.
I ran my fingers across his well-groomed, dark beard, enjoying the softness. He growled low and sensually. I felt the slight prick of his claws through my shirt, which normally would have sent me sprinting away, but there wasn’t anything normal about this strange connection between us. Slowly, I felt his claws retract and his blunt fingers caress my back.
His full focus was on me, the attention giving me little shivers of awareness as we stared at each other, speechless, faces mere inches apart. Ryker leaned into my body, pressing his lips against mine before he sucked my tongue into his mouth. My tongue slid around the tip of his, then rubbed under it. My body pulsed with need, and every cell was focused on him. His hands slid up to my neck, grabbing the back of my head possessively before kissing my throat gently. The contradiction between the hardness of his grip on my hair and the gentleness of his kiss sent a shiver down my spine, my mind imagining all of the other delicious things his mouth could do.
What would those big hands feel like on my body? My skin quivered at the thought.
