“Baby I know the car where they had to cut the people out of had a young man and a young lady in it. The car that hit them I was told was driven by an older white gentlemen. I can go to the back and see if he has a tattoo on his neck and come back and tell you.” The middle aged nurse got up from her desk and disappeared between the double doors.

Gigi sat back down and started to bite on her nails. Her nerves were shot. Concrete came back in through the emergency entrance and sat down next to her.

“Tell me what happened.”

“Nard called and told me to turn on the news. He said that it was a really bad accident and he thought it was
Killa
because the rims on the car looked like his. So I turned on the television and we were looking at the news and while they are extracting the victims from the car, they zoomed in on it and you couldn’t tell what kind of car it is because it is fucked up so bad, but we
seen
the rims and it is his car. Honesty started crying and shaking, then she just hit the floor.”

Coach rushed through the doors of the emergency room. His eyes were flushed. He had a wild look in his eye. “Where are my babies? Where are my kids?” He shouted.

Gigi got up and walked over to him, before the security guard got to him. She didn’t want him to go off on the security guard because his temper was vicious.

“They just took Honesty to the back. Her breathing had started to become normal but she is still unconscious. The nurse is gone to check for me to see if that was
Killa
, I gave her a description of him.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the seats where her and Concrete were waiting.

Coach was sick to his stomach; He was not feeling like himself. It was something missing and that feeling alone told him without a doubt that it was his son in the car accident. He sat in the chair and rocked back and forth with his eyes closed and prayed to Allah. If he lost his son he wouldn’t be fit for life.

The nurse came back up front and summoned Gigi over to the desk and Coach got up and joined her. “The young man does fit the description that you gave me. Can you get in contact with the next of kin because he is about to be rushed into surgery. He has lost a lot of blood and one of his limbs is severely damaged.”

“Ma’am, I am his father and the next of kin. Can I see him?” Khalil was shaking as tears ran down his face.

“I’m sorry sir, you can’t see him yet. But I do have some papers that you need to sign. They are prepping him for surgery.” The nurse handed Khalil a clipboard.

“What about my daughter, the other young lady? Khalil asked before he went to sit down and fill out the paperwork.

“The doctor will be out in a minute to talk to you about her.” The nurse sat back down and shook her head to herself. This is the one thing that she hated about her job. The young lady probably wasn’t going to make it through the night. Her injuries had been so severe; all of her internal organs were damaged beyond repair.

“What did she say about Honesty?” Gigi asked as soon as Coach sat back down.

“She said that the doctor will be out to talk to me in a few minutes about her. Killian is about to go to surgery.”

Khalil sat there and tried to fill out the paperwork as best as he could. His hands were shaking and the tears pooled in his eyes. As much good as he has done in the recent years, it could never replace all the bad that he has done over the years. This was his punishment.

“I think we need to call the girls. Everybody should be here.” Gigi said as she rubbed Khalil’s back.

“Yes, can you do that for me? Loyalty is in Florida, but she needs to be on the next flight here. Her and Killian have the closest DNA match besides me and him. He has lost a lot of blood and might need her as a donor. Reality is somewhere with that boy D.J. If you can’t get in touch with her, call him.”

Chapter 24: Four hundred degrees

Reality lay on the bed naked, smoking a blunt.
Jaimes
had just gotten up to take a shower. They had been in bed since last night. Both of them were hungry because they had only been feasting on each other. He had told her that he would take her out where ever she wanted to go to get something to eat. Reality had turned her phone off after she texted her dad. She wanted to make sure that he knew that she wasn’t coming back home that night. She played back everything that had happened last night between her and
Jaimes
. He couldn’t believe that she was a virgin. She had been holding onto that for someone special. She reminded him that she was only twenty years old.
Jaimes
told her that finding a twenty year old virgin was like finding a needle in the haystack.

“What are you sitting there smiling like a Cheshire cat for?” D.J. said as he walked into the bedroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Boy you better hurry up and put on some clothes before I attack you again.” Reality put the blunt out in the ashtray on the nightstand.

“You don’t have any clothes on either; you must want to go for another round. I swear I can go on all day with you Bae.”
Jaimes
cell phone was ringing, but he couldn’t find it.

Reality felt the phone vibrating on her leg; she reached under the cover and picked up the phone. She saw Gigi’s name on the screen and threw the phone full force at
Jaimes
’ midsection.

“What’s up Ma? Yeah she right here with me. Is everything cool? Wait a minute, hold on.”
Jaimes
hurled the cell phone back toward Reality. She left the phone where it landed near her thigh. “Quit acting like a baby. Pick up the phone, she called for you.”

“Hello, hello. Are you sure? Which hospital are you guys at? We are on the way.” Reality hopped up out the bed as she put the phone down and began running around like a chicken with her head cut off as she looked for something to put on.

D.J. watched her run around in circles. “Baby, what’s wrong? Who is in the hospital?” He didn’t get an answer so he just went into his closet and grabbed some jeans and slipped them on, he grabbed her bag and carried it back into the bedroom and tossed it on the bed.

Reality felt an attack coming on. She could not control her breathing. She walked over to the bed and opened up her bag and got out a pair of Robbins Jeans and slipped them on with a white
v-neck
t-shirt. “Bae, it’s my brother, come on and put your shirt on so we can go to Atlanta Medical. My dad needs me.” Each word was labored coming out as her breath got shorter. She sat down on the edge of the bed and put her head in between her legs. She couldn’t breathe.

D.J. went back into the closet and grabbed a Polo shirt off of a hanger and slipped it over his head. He put on a pair of All Stars and walked out of the closet. When he walked back into the bedroom, Reality was lying on the floor in front of the bed and she had turned another color. Her breathing was very shallow.

He picked her up and ran out of the door with her thrown over his shoulder. He got on the elevator and when he got to the parking deck, he went to his Audi truck. He opened the passenger door, and let the seat back and put her in. D.J. ran around and got in the driving seat and drove out of the deck at full speed. It seemed like it took forever for the arm to come up and the gate to open in order for him to exit his building.

He kept glancing at her as he drove through downtown. He was thankful that he stayed close to the hospital. He pulled into the emergency entrance and got out and went around to the other side to pick her up. She was conscious but her breathing was scaring him. He carried her into the emergency room.

Gigi looked up and saw D.J. rushing through the door carrying Reality. She jumped up and rushed to his side.

“Oh Lord, what happened?”

Khalil threw down the clipboard with the papers and tried to grab Reality from D.J.’s arms. “What in the hell happened to her?”

“After you called she told me that we had to hurry over to the hospital. I was in my closet putting on my shoes and when I came out she was laying on the floor in front of the bed. I picked her up and rushed over her.” D.J. looked down at Reality and her condition was still the same.

Coach rushed over to the nurse’s desk again. “Ma’am, my other daughter was just brought in by her boyfriend, she is unconscious. She has generalized anxiety disorder. I think that she had an attack. Can you help her?” He ran his hand over his bald head and then rubbed his full beard. There was only so much that a man could take. He was surely being tested.

They brought a gurney out for Reality and D.J. laid her down on it. Gigi was in disbelief. What were the odds of both of the sisters coming in for the same thing? They must have inherited that from their mother. She still hadn’t called Loyalty. D.J. walked out to go and park his truck, Gigi walked out with him.

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you that the same exact thing happen to Honesty and she is in the back too.”

“You got to be kidding me? Did you know that they had this problem?” He said to Gigi as he got into his truck, not waiting for an answer.

Gigi pulled out her phone to call Loyalty. She felt so bad for Uncle K. He was really going through it. He had three of his children in the emergency room and although Honesty and Reality wasn’t serious; they all knew that
Killa’s
condition was very serious.

“Hey this is Gigi. We need you to come back home as soon as possible.
Killa
has been in a very bad car accident. Honesty and Reality are both in the hospital too because they had attacks and passed out. Your dad could really use you here at his side.”

__________

Loyalty was in shock. She had to get back to Atlanta and she needed to be back as soon as possible. She looked down at her watch. K.J had left to go and pick up his dog from the vet. She had been getting ready because they were expected to meet some of his team mates and their wives at a restaurant tonight to celebrate a birthday. She had been having the time of her life in Florida. They had gotten so close. She was happy that she chose to come with him. Every day was a new adventure. It was like they had been together forever. They made love endlessly. She spent the days shopping while he was at practice and the nights were spent in lavish restaurants and sightseeing. Paparazzi was always somewhere snapping pictures of them. At first it made her uncomfortable, but she had gotten used to it.

It was like they couldn’t get enough of each other. She hated that she was about to leave but he would understand because it was a family emergency. She wished that he could come with her, but she promised herself that as soon as everything was back to normal she would return to him in Florida. She was hoping that he would ask her to move down here with him. She didn’t have to live in the same house as he did, but if he asked her to move to the city she would just so that she could be close to him.

“Bae, are you ready?” K.J. walked in dressed in dark brown dress slacks and a tan short sleeve button down. He had on a matching Gucci belt and shoes.

Loyalty looked at him as he walked in with his boxer Young Money on a leash. She reached down and rubbed him on his head. She then looked up at K.J.

“Baby, I just got a call from home. I have to leave immediately. My brother was in a terrible accident.”

K.J. looked at her dressed in a tan wrap dress that he had bought her from the Gucci store. He wasn’t ready for her to leave yet. These had been the best days of his life. His home was no longer quiet and empty when he came home. She filled his home with joy.

“Really? Oh my God. I hate for you to leave but I understand. When do you need to depart?

“As soon as possible. Both of my sisters are in the hospital too.” She said as she wrapped her arms around him.

He looked down at her. “Why are your sisters in the hospital,
were
they in the car too?”

“No, they both suffer from anxiety disorder so they probably just passed out after having an attack. But if they are laid up and Killian is messed up, I really need to be there for my dad. I need to go online and see when I can get a flight out.”

“The owner of the team has a private jet, let me call him and tell him that I have a family emergency and see if he can get his pilot to shoot you up to Atlanta. He is usually understanding like that.”

K.J. took out his cell phone and called the owner and told him what he needed. He agreed to it and told him that the plane and pilot could be ready in thirty minutes. He also informed him that he better not get on the plane because he had to be in practice first thing in the morning. K.J. promised the owner that only his girl would be flying out and that he would be at practice with no problems.
