Chapter 21

Dear Diary,

Why does the one thing that feels so right have to be so wrong? There’s a tough decision I have to make soon. I wish you were here to tell me which path to take…

Sunlight pours over my face as I open my eyes.

I nearly jump out of my skin to see Eric standing in front of me with a questioning look as his eyes move over my shoulder.

I groan lightly as Liam moves behind me.

He hadn’t left.

“What the hell, Eve?” Eric whispers sternly before throwing his hands into the air. “You know what, don’t answer that. I don’t want to know, I’m just glad you two still seem to have all of your clothes on.”

I don’t get the chance to say anything because Liam springs up next to me wide awake before jumping out of the bed when he spots Eric.

“Crap, I’m sorry.” He stumbles for an apology.

Eric holds his hand up to stop Liam as he places his attention fully on me. “Just tell me that you’re not cheating on Jayce, Eve. Tell me that this was just a comforting thing and nothing more.”

“I wouldn’t cheat on Jayce. I just needed comfort that’s all.” I reply.

“She needed me and I couldn’t say no, Sir.” Liam chimes in.

Eric nods once before glancing off as we all hear the front door open downstairs and then close.

My eyes go wide.

Jayce was on his way up and if he walked in on all of us like this it would look really bad.

“Crap, get into the bathroom or get out the window now, Liam. I’m going to stall Jayce for as long as I can but you need to figure out what you’re doing, Eve.” Eric groans before rushing out of my room.

Liam runs into the bathroom and hops into the shower.

I rush in behind him and pull the curtain closed so no one could see him.

Moving back out of the bathroom I shut the door slightly and then rush to get back into bed.

Before I make it there though the door to my room opens and Jayce walks in.

“Hey, Babe, how are you feeling?” He asks as he folds me into his arms.

“I feel better but I need to get a shower. Do you mind waiting for me?” I reply with a grin and a quick kiss.

“Don’t you want me to join you?” He questions with a raised brow.

“I’d rather get one alone. I have to shave my legs and I doubt you want to deal with that.” I lie.

Jayce nods. “Alright, then I can wait out here for you.”

He then moves away from me and then lies back on the bed.

Sighing quietly I turn and move into the bathroom before shutting the door behind myself. I refrain from locking it since it would immediately alert Jayce.

I had never locked the door while he was here.

Liam peeks out of the curtain with wide eyes. “What are you thinking?” He whispers.

I throw my hands up. “I don’t know. You need to get out of there so I can get a shower though.”

He nods and quietly steps out of the shower before turning the water on for me.

After he tests it he sits down on the edge of the sink.

I hesitate to undress. “Can’t you close your eyes or something?”

Shaking his head he smirks but then closes his eyes for me.

I wave my hand in front of his face for a brief moment before deciding to just take the plunge and undress.

If I didn’t hurry then Jayce would no doubt find his way into the bathroom.

Right now if he came in this whole situation would look far worse than it would have before when it had been Eric finding Liam inside my room.

Moving quickly I strip down and then rush to get into the shower.

I gasp out loudly when the warm water hits my body, it was the perfect temperature.

Without warning Liam peeks inside the shower. “Are you okay? It wasn’t too hot, was it?”

“It was just fine, thanks, Liam.” I clip out and then push him out.

Taking my time I close my eyes and stand under the water as it soaks my hair and warms by body.

After a few minutes I begin the task of washing my hair and then rinsing it before washing my body with a body wash that smelled like strawberries.

Liam peeks in again as I begin to rinse my body off. “That smells amazing right now, and I’m starving.”

I chuckle and shove him out again.

He moves away for a moment before suddenly jumping into the shower, fully clothed, with me.

I’m about to protest but he quickly covers my mouth with his hand as he places a finger over his own lips.

The door to the bathroom opens. “Are you okay in here, Babe? You’re taking a little longer than usual.”

Liam drops his hand so I can answer. “I’m fine, Jayce, I’m just enjoying the water.”

“We could enjoy it together.” Jayce suggests.

He tries to open the shower curtain but I stop him and peek out. “I can’t do this right now, Jayce. I still don’t feel good.”

It was a lie but it was the only way to get him to stop his pursuit.

Jayce’s lips form a thin line as he nods his head once. “Fine, you win, but I’m going to go home. If you want a ride you’re going to have to find one on your own.”

His tone was harsh.

“Jayce, please don’t be like that.” I plead softly.

He shakes his head and then turns to walk out of the bathroom.

I’m about to rush out of the shower after him but Liam stops me by grabbing my bare hips.

Turning around I glare at him. “Let me go.” I demand.

He shakes his head. “I’m not going to let you go after a jerk like him. Just because you said no is no reason to treat you that way. You deserve better, Eve.”

“It’s my life, Liam. Now let me go.” I growl out.

Thankfully he lets me free.

I don’t waste a second to rush after Jayce.

As soon as I get into my room his arms grab a hold of me before pinning my back against the wall while his lips crash into mine.

I moan softly as his hands explore my still wet skin.

He was lighting me on fire and I quickly found myself helpless against him.

“I thought you were really going to leave me.” I whisper as he leans back slightly.

“Honestly, I was going to but I don’t want to fight with you. All I want is to be with you, Babe.” He replies.

He doesn’t even give me a chance to say another word before he lifts me up while kissing my lips again as he walks us over to the bed.

As he lays me down on the bed I catch a glimpse of Liam in the bathroom doorway.

He was soaking wet but he didn’t seem to care.

His eyes were glued onto mine as Jayce continued to hover over me while his lips trailed their way down my neck.

Liam’s eyes couldn’t hide his feelings for me in them as he continues to watch us.

With my free hand I wave him to go.

I didn’t want him to stay around here and watch what was going to happen next. He didn’t need to torture himself like that.

He nods and then slowly begins making his way towards the bedroom door.

My attention turns to Jayce as I keep him from looking anywhere but at me.

It was hard considering he wanted to move quickly.

Sitting up straight Jayce begins pulling off his shirt and Liam freezes before waving his hands wildly to get my attention.

I give him my best questioning look and he thankfully points out what I needed to do in order to keep Jayce from seeing him.

Grabbing Jayce’s shirt I stop him from taking it off of his head, it was just far enough that it covered only his eyes.

I pull him down for a long kiss.

As our tongues tangle together I watch from the corner of my eye as Liam opens the door, causing me to have to moan out to keep the noise to a minimum.

He walks out and I moan again as the door shuts.

After he’s gone I turn my attention fully towards Jayce as I slip his shirt the rest of the way over his head.

He grins mischievously before he quickly pulls his jeans down enough so that he could quickly enter me.

I moan out loudly as I get lost in the feeling of him and his skin against mine.

“Meet me over at my house?” Jayce grunts as he pulls his jeans up and then fastens them before grabbing for his shirt.

I nod. “Yeah, give me ten minutes and I’ll be over.”

Grinning brightly he slips his shirt on before sitting down on the edge of my bed to slip his socks and shoes on.

Once he’s done getting dressed he leans back to give me a kiss.

“I’ll see you soon.” He grins before standing up onto his feet.

Sighing softly I watch as he leaves my room.

Minutes later my door reopens and Liam walks back in with a handful of dry clothing.

“Where did you get those?” I ask curiously.

He remains silent as he tosses the clothing onto my bed and then begins to strip down right in front of me.

“Liam, what are you doing?” I question while sitting up.

Still he doesn’t respond to me in any way. Not until I stand up and then move in front of him not caring one bit that I was naked.

I wanted answers.

“Liam, please talk to me.” I plead softly as I finally catch his attention.

His jaw ticks as he stares directly into my eyes.

“What do you want me to say to you right now, Eve? I just had to sneak out of your room just so you could sleep with that jerk.” He bites out.

“He’s my boyfriend, Liam.” I argue lightly.

My words didn’t sound convincing, even to my ears. It was as if I was trying to convince myself that Jayce was in fact my boyfriend.

It didn’t help that Liam was right about Jayce being a bit of a jerk.

Then again Jayce had been sweet by staying behind just so we wouldn’t fight.

“Who are you trying to convince, Eve? When you opened your window for me last night who did you want in your bed?” Liam questions with a raised brow.

I bow my head as I close my eyes. “I wanted you with me last night.”

It was the truth and it hurt to actually speak the words out loud, I felt as if I had already betrayed Jayce in some way.

And I guess in a way I had.

“You’re going to have to figure this out quickly, Eve. I’m not going to let you toy around with me just because you want to feel better.” Liam insists gently as he picks my chin up.

“I love you, Eve. I always will and I’ll always be here for you but I can’t let you break my heart anymore than you already have.” He adds softly.

“I know you do. I don’t want to break your heart, Liam. I just don’t know what to do. I’m such a mess.” I whimper.

“You’ll figure it all out, Evie.” He replies, using the same pet name that Cole always did.

I smile up at him and then close my eyes for a brief moment. “I like hearing you call me that. I missed hearing someone use that name for me.”

“I know you do.” Liam sighs as he steps back from me and then continues to get dressed.

He pauses for a moment to look at me. “Get dressed, Eve, if you don’t soon I might not be able to control my actions.”

Giving him a mocking face I move over to my dresser and begin to sort through it for the clothing that I needed for the day.

I quickly slip on a matching lace black bra and panty set.

“You’re not making this any easier.” Liam grunts out.

I laugh and then hurry to pull out a pleated denim skirt and a simple white tank top.

After slipping them on I turn towards Liam for his approval.

He only shakes his head as he moves closer to me. “I swear you’re out to get me into trouble.”

Shaking my head in amusement I turn around to move towards my closet but I’m stopped as Liam’s arms surround me as his breath fans over the back of my neck.
