Chapter Sixteen

Rick and Regan arrived at the popular Mexican restaurant a few minutes after Cap and Megan and found them seated at a quiet corner table.  Regan’s face was bright red and she was sending her husband laser sharp glares with her pretty blue eyes.  She hugged her sister and both men waited patiently to assist their wives into their chairs.

“What’s wrong, honey?  You look flushed.”  Megan pressed a hand to Regan’s forehead, her maternal instincts in full gear since she found out she was pregnant.  Regan shook her head, mortified.  She just knew the Rossi crew was replaying the surveillance video.  It would go viral on YouTube with a titillating title like “Bimbo Blows in Bakery.”  She buried her face in her hands and groaned.

“I want that tape erased.”

“Regan honey, please stop worrying.  The guys are instructed to turn off the cameras when a Dom’s in the room.”  Rick looked to Tony for support.  There was no help in that corner as Meg and Tony looked at each. They didn’t have to be told what happened and remembered a similar argument about cameras early in their own relationship.  They tried to hold it in but failed miserably and burst into loud gales of
laughter, which drew the attention of the other diners.

“You’re not helping.”  Rick glared at them but felt his mouth twitch uncontrollably.  Regrettably, Regan noticed.

“I’m glad you three are entertained by my humiliation.  I won’t ever be able to show my face at the Rossi offices again.”

“Honey, all the guys have seen us both at The Club.  A private moment at the bakery is not going to shock them.”  He could tell this didn’t help soothe her at all.  It was bad, and then Megan had to make it worse.

“Tell me you weren’t in the kitchen, Reg.  The health department will shut us down if they find out.”

“I don’t think they’ll find out unless someone decides to post it on YouTube.”

“The dining room then, surely not in front of all those windows.” This came from a still laughing Tony.

“Ha
ha ha, Cap.  You are just too funny.  You should do Leno.”

They couldn’t contain their laughter.  All three of them thought she was adorable in her embarrassment.

Regan folded her arms on the table and buried her face in horror.  They heard a muffled voice say “I just remembered something else.”

“What babe?”

Face still buried, she whispered and they all leaned in to hear. “Cap paddled me in that office.”

Tony and Rick snickered, the camera caught all sorts of intimate moments but the guys they had monitoring their feeds were older men with high integrity. They took their jobs seriously and Tony and Rick knew for certain they were discreet.

“My office?  Really?  You guys were, uh getting’ busy in my office?  I’ll be thinking about that every time I meet with a customer to plan a baby shower or child’s birthday party. Eww.”

Three pairs of eyes looked at Megan.  Rick and Regan were surprised that upset her. Tony was smiling, proud of her for skipping a perfect opportunity to drop the F-bomb where in the past she would have launched it with flair.  He patted her thigh lovingly.

Regan, still mortified didn’t let it slide.  “Seriously? That’s what ticks you off?  Thanks for your support Megan.  Next time we’ll be sure to do it someplace else, like on the prep table between the rolling pins and the pastry bags.  Would that be better? ”

Rick and Tony laughed so hard then that an older lady at the next tabled shushed them.  Megan frowned at her sarcasm and decided a subject change was due. “So, how is the medication working, Reg.”

Regan growled in frustration.  Her sister, the supposed nicer of the pair, was getting to be as nosy and bossy as their husbands.  Before she lost it and said something she’d really regret, Tony stepped in.

“Angel, let the woman order her food before you start the third degree.”

“It’s a simple yes or no question, Captain, hardly the third degree.  Regan, do you have any idea how worried I was about you?  I thought I was having a heart attack the night you disappeared but it was only a panic attack.”  Megan’s voice quivered as she remember her fear and anxiety that night, her intense gaze was unwavering as she waited for an answer.  Regan flushed and fiddled with the napkin in her lap.

This time Rick came to her rescue. “Megan, she’s apologized to both of you for that night several times.  Plus she is paying nightly for that offense.  You need to forgive her and we all need to move on.

Megan acknowledged his gentle rebuke, “Yes, Sir.  Maybe if I spanked her it would make me a little more gracious in accepting her apology.”  She winked at her sister to let her know she was kidding.  The women missed the look the men shared as they considered the potential benefits of that idea.  At The Club, the offended party often participated in the punishment.  It cleared the air for both parties and minimized lingering resentment.  The tension between the two sisters was placing a strain on their relationship.  The idea certainly warranted further consideration.

“Is she taking her meds this time?”  Megan’s question interrupted the men’s silent communication for the time being.

“Absolutely, Meg.  She’ll be following all doctors’ orders to the letter this time.  Right, sweetness?”

“Yes, Sir.”  She answered sweetly but then turned to Megan.  “He makes me open my mouth and stick out my tongue after each dose Meg.  Just like in a prison infirmary, or so I hear.  I know I’ve been a pain lately little sister, but it’d be nice if you remembered that I’m sitting right here, can understand polysyllabic words and can actually speak in complete sentences.”

“That will be enough, Regan.”  Rick squeezed her hand in warning and looked at the couple across from them.  Tony had a warning hand at the nape of Megan’s neck.  “The sarcasm and sass are getting pretty thick in here.  Let’s change the subject shall we, before you sweet, loving sisters come to blows right here at the table, yeah?  So, Cap how is the baby?  Do you know the sex yet?

Cap smiled and welcomed the change to one of his favorite topics.  He slipped his arm around his wife’s shoulders and squeezed.  “Everything’s fine with my sons, right Angel?”

“Yes our daughters are just perfect.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful Tony if we had one of each and got it all over with at once?”  She looked at Rick and Regan who were looking at her in surprise. “It’s twins.”

Distracted, Megan launched into a laundry list of details from how they had to double up on all the baby supplies and equipment to the shower their mother was planning.  Diverted by her favorite topic, she monopolized the conversation for the next hour and before they knew it they had finished a good meal without any more drama or embarrassment for Regan.  No one seemed to notice that Regan hadn’t said more than two words since their stunning announcement.  Twins.  How unfair was life?  Her sister got two beautiful babies at once and she couldn’t even have one.  She decided that fate had just decided to piss on her life this year.  What else could happen?

As the men settled the bill, Regan leaned against Rick and whispered into his ear. “Thank you, Bear.”

“For what, honey?”

“For distracting Megan.  I know she loves me but she is smothering sometimes.”

He pressed a gentle kiss against her temple as he pocketed his billfold. “Think nothing of it.”

The sisters hugged as a sign of their truce then the couples parted ways, walking hand in hand in opposite directions.  Heads turned as they strolled down the busy street.  Each tall, handsome man paired with an equally attractive woman snuggled closely against their side in the midwinter evening chill.

Rick handed Regan into the Venom murmuring that they needed to hurry or they’d be late for their appointment and ignored her groan of protest. As he steered the vehicle through the
dinnertime traffic, he frowned as wife continued to complaints.

“This is important, Regan.  I can’t think of anything more important than working on our relationship right now.”

“It’s not that, Bear.  It’s just that I’m so tired.  It was a hectic day at the bakery and now that my stomach is full I was looking forward to cuddling up with you in front of a cozy fire.”

“Cuddling can come after our session.”

Chapter Seventeen

Before Regan knew it she was seated next to Rick on Dr. Windham’s plush couch discussing their unconventional relationship.  Her office was warm and inviting, not at all what she pictured a shrink’s office to be like.  She wondered why she felt slightly cheated by the lack of the famous leather psychiatry couch.

“Ok, you two.  Tell me a little about the rules in your relationship.  Rick you start.”

“Well, we have been together for about ten years and in a committed D/s relationship for the last seven.  When we married three years ago we entered into a consensual DD relationship as well.”

“What about the BDSM?  How does that fit in?  Regan?”

“Well, the BDSM is mostly in the bedroom because I’m a sexual submissive.  We don’t do Master/slave usually unless in role-play.  Well, we have more recently during some discipline but it just seemed to come naturally then.  I guess the BDSM sometimes bleeds over into the DD part of our life.  Sometimes the lines are blurred.”

“How do you keep them straight then, Regan?”

“Um...” she looked at Rick for help, but he nodded for her to continue. “The BDSM is safe, sane and consensual.  I have a safeword and we stop if I feel uncomfortable about something.  DD is different.  Rick is the HoH, the Head of Household, so he is in charge and in control of the relationship but he still encourages my independence and individuality in our public life.  We believe that mutual respect and trust will strengthen our relationship.”

“What is the difference between the two?”

“Well…” she again looked to Rick for help.

“No Regan, I want you to tell me without any help from Rick.”

Her color heightened as she felt their eyes on her, these were two very dominant personalities. “Um, the BDSM is for play, but the DD is for real.”

“OK.  Rick can you tell me when you feel discipline is appropriate?”

“We follow the four D’s of domestic discipline. We both agree that following these rules makes our marriage stronger.  Any violation of these tenets can result in a punishment.”

“What are the four D’s?  Regan, can you tell me?”

“Disobedience, disrespect, dishonor and danger.”

“Rick, tell me the last time you had to punish Regan for violating these rules and how you did it?”

“That would have been last night.  She receives ten swats per rule she violates.  The implements vary but last night she got thirty with the paddle for being dishonest, disrespectful and putting herself in danger.”

“I see.  Regan, tell me how you violated the rules of dishonesty, disrespect and danger.”

“I’d rather not.”

“That’s ten for disobedience, isn’t it Rick?”

Regan gasped.  Whose side was the good doctor on anyway?

“But Dr. Windham, what happened to confidentiality?”

“This is couples counseling.  Both of you know the rules that were violated now I want you to fill me in.”

“Well,” Regan looked for a stall tactic. “Looks like our time is up, I guess we can finish this up next week.”

“That’s another ten, Regan.” Rick scolded her. “Stalling and evasion count as disobedience.  Just answer the doctor’s question.”

“I feel like you two are ganging up on me.”  She pouted, this wasn’t fun at all.  “I really don’t think it’s any of her business why.” Her tone was sharp and mildly hostile. She resented the doctor placing her in this situation.  Realizing she was on thin ice, she adjusted her tone and appealed to her husband, “It’s a private matter between us, Bear.”

“Tone, Regan.  That’s another ten for disrespect.  Let’s not run the whole gamut of rule violations tonight, hmm, babe?”

Both Doms ignored the frustrated tears rolling down the submissive’s cheeks and waited for a response.  She bowed her head and whispered “I am getting a nightly punishment for lying by omission to my husband, leaving in the middle of a punishment, and running away from The Club without telling anyone and going to stay at a cheap motel.  It’s a violation of dishonesty, disrespect and danger.”

“So, that means tonight will be a doozy.  You get your standing thirty plus the additional thirty you have earned in this session.  I suggest you consider my next question carefully.”

Regan tearfully nodded and muttered a respectful “yes, ma’am.”

“Tell me what you are hiding from your husband.  What is so terrible that you would subject yourself to a punishment of at least thirty swats every night rather than be honest and truthful?  I am assuming this will continue until she comes clean with you, correct Rick?”

“Exactly. Tonight will be session number fifteen.”

“You promised you wouldn’t tell!”  Regan stood up and accused the doctor, angry tears rolling down her cheeks.  “I trusted you.  You lying, manipulative bitch!”

“Regan, stop it right now.  You will not speak to the doctor that way.”  Rick pulled his agitated wife into his arms and lifted her onto his lap.  He bent his head and pressed his mouth to her ear, “Apologize, now.”

“It’s OK Rick.  That’s the first really honest emotion she has shown me in all these weeks of therapy.  Isn’t it Regan?”

She shook her head desperately in protest.  Her well-constructed plan was crumbling thanks to the good doctor.  She looked at the puzzled expression on her husband’s face.

“What are you talking about Doc?”

“She’s not being honest with either of us, Rick.  Just going through the motions and telling us what she thinks we want to hear.  I really see no need in continuing if she is not going to be invested in treatment.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I know her secret, Rick.  It is up to her to clue you in and until she does, we are just spinning our wheels.”

“Tell me what you know.”

“I’m sorry but she told me in confidence and I cannot reveal it without her permission.  I can tell you that her moods have stabilized and will continue to do so if she keeps taking the meds I prescribed.  But a pill won’t fix her self-esteem and trust issues.  That is up to her.  So, I’ll see her back in thirty days for a med check but I see no reason to waste our time with more therapy sessions until she decides to be honest with us and herself.”  With that said, Dr. Windham stood and moved to her desk where she sat and consulted her calendar.  “Is May 30
th
at 2 pm all right with you Regan?”

She didn’t answer, just sat sobbing in Rick’s arms.  He sat frozen with a stunned look on his face.  Now what do I do to get through to her?

Rick finally gathered himself enough to ask the doctor for clarification. “Are you sure this is what needs to happen?”

“I’m sorry Rick, but I can’t help someone that doesn’t want to help herself.”  She shook her head sadly and handed him the appointment card. “If circumstances change before her next appointment, please let me know.”
