“Did it feel good for you?  Tell me how it was.”  He rained kisses across my shoulder as I turned my head toward him.  He looked concerned, hesitant even.

“Honestly, I didn’t know if I would like it, and it took some time to get used to it…but it was good.  Really good.”  I smiled at him and he beamed.

He grabbed me and pulled me on top of him, kissing my lips softly.  “Good, Smiles.  It makes me happy that you liked it.”

I smiled at him and teased, “I don’t guess I need to ask whether you liked it or not?”

“Fuck no.  I came so hard I thought I would die.”  Grin.  Big grin with creases and all.

Epilogue:  Five Years Later

Thad came into the house in his softball uniform after playing a game with the guys at the park.  I couldn’t help but stare as he slid off his cleats at the door and entered the house.  He still looked the same as the day I met him, but with a few more graying hairs on his head.  Those only served to make him hotter – more like a distinguished sex god.  I continued to stare at him as he walked into the kitchen.  He went to open the fridge and I noticed how his ball pants were tight across his ass.  As he grabbed a carton of juice and began to drink from it (eye roll), I watched his chiseled arms underneath his uniform shirt.  We’d been married five years and I still got hot just looking at him do mundane, everyday things.

We are still imperfectly perfect together.  We have our moments.  I married a passionate man.  His emotions are extreme in everything he does – romantically, sexually, angrily.  I actually look forward to angry, rough sex with him now, though.  It’s hot.  He’s learned to control his rage and neither of us drink all that much anymore.  I’m no saint, either.  I blurt out what I think without consequences.  I tend to avoid things, though I don’t let myself run away anymore.  I’ve learned to face my problems with him, together.  Loving someone means accepting their worst qualities and loving them anyway.  We are imperfectly perfect together
because
of
our flaws.

We never heard from Gina again.  Thad heard through someone that she’d met and married some rich guy.  She’d finally found her ultimate catch, I guess.  Good luck to him.

I know what you’re thinking, though.  You wanted some sort of classic revenge scene, just like in the movies, didn’t you?  A scene where I confront her and do something to finally “one-up” her?  A scene where she finally gets what’s coming to her?  Yeah, I love those scenes, too.

That’s not how it works in real life, though.  You know what the best revenge is in real life?  The best revenge is realizing you no longer even think of that person anymore – that they are so insignificant to you that the very thought of them never crosses your mind.  You know that saying that the best revenge is living well?  It’s true.  In real life, the best revenge is just realizing that you’re
happy
.  Your enemy’s or your ex’s actions or life or existence – they don’t matter to you anymore because all that matters is that
you
are happy.  You have a great life.  You’ve moved on.  You’ve found love.  You’ve found happiness.…..There is nothing that person could ever do again that could damage that love or happiness.  Nothing.

That’s the best revenge there is.

***************

I continued to stare at this man god husband of mine as he put up the juice and shut the refrigerator door.  He turned, surprised to see me sitting there ogling him.

“Oh, hey, Smiles.  I didn’t see you there.  Ummm….what’re you doing?”

“What’s it look like?” I teased.  “I’m staring at you.”

He grinned.  His creases were even more pronounced now and I loved it.  “You see something you like?”

“Yes.  In fact, I’m watching you in that uniform and thinking about a little role play.  You look like a baseball player…..I have a weakness for baseball players, you know.”

His eyebrows shot up and he smirked.  “Baseball player and obsessed fan?........Baseball player and female coach?........ Baseball player and professor?  Baseball….”

I laughed, cutting him off.  “How about female sports reporter interviewing professional baseball player in the locker room?”

His blue eyes went wide as he mulled the scenario over.  “I like it.  I can work with that….”  Earth-shattering grin.  Then, he paused and looked around, “Wait, where’s my angel?”

“At your mom’s for the night…..”  I smiled at him seductively.  He grabbed my hand and we literally ran to the bedroom.

***************

“Sit on the bed for a minute while I get my outfit on.”

His eyebrows arched, “Outfit?”

“Yeah.  I’m a reporter.  I need a skirt.”

He grinned and threw himself back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling, “Oh god.  I’m already hard thinking about it.”

“Well, just wait a second.  Don’t perv out the reporter with your hard-on already,” I teased, as I shut the closet door to change.  I stripped down to my red lacy underwear and matching bra.  I found a black skirt that fell just above the knees and a matching suit jacket.  I put on a white button-down shirt underneath the jacket and grabbed some tall black pumps.  Checking myself out in the mirror, I looked the role of a reporter.  I unbuttoned the top two buttons of my shirt and opened the suit jacket so that my cleavage showed through.  There, this will entice him.  I tried to think of a good scenario and then it hit me.  Yes….

I yelled through the door, “Hey, Pickup Grinner.”

“Yeah?”

“You’re a professional baseball player and I’m interviewing you for some local paper while you’re in town.  You’re married, but your wife’s a huge bitch.  You’re trying to resist my charms and I’m doing whatever I can to get into your pants.”

Thad yelled back.  “I’ve got to play a reluctant lay?  Fuck.  How about I try to lay you instead?”

“Nice try, but you’ll enjoy the temptation part.  I promise,” I negotiated back.

“Okay….I’m in.  You’d better make it good.”

“Oh, I will.  I promise.”  I said as I opened the door, revealing my temptress reporter’s outfit.

Thad looked up at me and whistled lowly.  “Holy hell.  I’m supposed to resist that?”  He pointed at me with a look of lust in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes.  “Yeah, you’re married.  That’s the best part about role play.  You can pretend to cheat on your wife – with your wife.  But this pretend wife of yours, she’s a huge bitch to you.  At the same time, you don’t want to cheat on her, either……C’mon.  It’s a good scenario.  Work with me here.”  I grinned seductively.

“Alright.  It’ll be hard to think about a wife who’s a bitch, though…..Mine is pretty sweet.”  He grinned at me.

I stepped toward him and grabbed a brush off the nightstand.  He looked at me puzzled.  “Microphone,” I explained and he nodded, still watching me approach.

***************

Using my high-heel sexy walk, I pranced over to him and said, “Thank you for agreeing to this interview, Mr. Reeding.  We really appreciate you taking the time out to speak to a local paper.”  I looked up at him, batting my eyes, as I continued to draw near.

Putting on his best cocky smirk, Thad nodded once and said, “It’s no problem, Ms....?”  He arched his eyebrow in an effort to show his curiosity at my name.

I smiled seductively and drawled. “Sasha Avery.”

Thad’s smirk returned and he nodded again.  He was playing the cocky, aloof baseball star to my seductress reporter.  I moved in even closer, inches away from his chest and he glanced down at my cleavage begging below.  Then, he brought his eyes up to mine quickly.

“So, uh, Mr. Reeding, how long have you been playing professional baseball?”  I batted my eyes at him again and licked my lips.  I knew that real Thad loved it when I did that.

Thad coughed softly and looked down at the floor, before growling, “About ten years.”  Then, he brought his eyes back up to meet mine, his jaw set and determined, pretending as if he were willing himself to just get this interview over with.

“Ah, yes.  And you’ve been married to your wife for seven years now.  Where did you all meet?”

Thad’s eyes went big at my question, diving right into the heart of our role play scenario.

He smirked and I could see his wheels turning.  “We met at a charity benefit gala in Dallas about nine years ago.  Her father owns Stewart Oil and he introduced us.”

I knew where Thad was going with this – the stuffy rich wife angle was just about the worse thing in the world he could think of.  I played along.

“That’s right.  From what I’ve read, your wife – Sophia, right?” He nodded as I continued.  “Her father owns part of the Dallas team, doesn’t he?”

Thad grinned at my play on the scenario and he quickly went back into character.  “Yeah.  He’s part owner of our team.”  He shrugged, trying to play off the implication that he was married to the boss’ daughter.

I decided to push the issue further.  I leaned over a bit to show my cleavage perfectly to him and watched his eyes dart hungrily to my chest in response.  “So, is it hard to be married to your boss’ daughter?”

Thad met my eyes and glared hard.  “What kind of question is that, Ms. Avery?”

I shrugged in return and stepped in closer to touch my hand upon his hard chest.  I rubbed my hand lazily across the team name flowing along his muscles.  I went with the innocent act.  “I’m sorry.  It’s just that when I was doing research for this, I just wondered why you never mention her in any of your interviews.  Ever...”

I batted my eyelashes again and smiled sweetly up at him.  He backed away from my hand, reached out and grabbed a chair, and sat it toward me.  He then grabbed another one and sat down in it, facing the one he’d sat out for me.

“Have a seat, Ms. Avery.  You seem a bit antsy.” He emphasized the word “antsy” as he gave me another hard stare.

I shrugged again and said, “Sure, Mr. Reeding.  Whatever you want.”  I walked over to the chair and bent over again to give him a good view of my breasts as I slowly sat down.  There were only a few inches between our knees.  “And I do mean whatever you want,” I whispered as I winked at him.

Thad groaned and tried to keep from grinning.  I could see him starting to get hard.  He pulled up his leg and crossed his foot over his knee, in an effort to hide his growing erection.

I could still go with this, though.  I made an effort to stare at his huge length and again lick my lips.  After an obvious “I’m-checking-out-your-crotch” look, I moved my eyes up to meet his.  His eyes, like a deep sea of blue, were lidded with lust.

“So, is it hard to be away from her when you travel so much?”

Still playing his role, he mumbled, “Who?” as his eyes stayed with mine.

“Your wife...” I reminded him seductively, biting my lower lip.

He shifted in his seat, trying to look obviously uncomfortable with the question.

“Ummmm....sure.”  He nodded for emphasis, but he was doing a great job at not being convincing.

I went for the jugular.  I leaned forward again and pushed my breasts upward with my arms as I spoke slowly, stressing each word.  “So how do you respond to all the tabloid rumors that when you’re together in public, she’s constantly yelling at you and while you’re traveling with the team, she’s cheating on you with other men?”

Thad’s eyebrows shot up with my bold chess move in this game play.  He paused, considering how to respond with his own move.

Returning the smirk with full force, he leaned forward and met my eyes – and grinned.  Huge grin.  My grin.  I almost felt sorry for my reporter.  She was about to be a goner, I knew.

“Ms. Avery.....I really don’t give a fuck what she does.”  The words were spat out in a cold tone, but his grin continued, daring my next move.

Interesting.  I lifted one eyebrow and met his grin with a seductive smile of my own.  “And why don’t you give a fuck, Mr. Reeding?”

“Because I don’t love her and she doesn’t love me.”

Where was he going with this?  This is what I loved about ad-libbing role play with my psychology professor husband.  Half of the fun was seeing how he’d spin it.  I decided to just go along for the ride (no pun intended, of course).

“Then why marry her?”

Thad leaned back now and uncrossed his legs.  He was still obviously hard, but no longer trying to hide it from my reporter.  He smirked as my eyes fell on his erection again.  He finally coughed to bring me out of my daydreams.

“That’s not very professional, Ms. Avery, staring like that.  My face is up here.”  He smirked again and waved his hand across his face.

I glared at him as I realized he was trying to take over the scenario. Typical Thad.  I had to get back in control.  I knew just the thing.  I uncrossed my legs slowly and because we were sitting so close, I knew he’d be able to see my red underwear between my legs if I left them open.  So I did.

His eyes flicked down between my legs and when he saw that I was going to keep them open, obviously teasing him, his jaw flinched noticeably.  He was grinding his teeth now as his eyes returned to my face.  The smirk was gone.  This new look was one of trying to control himself.

Aha!  Yes.  I flashed a winning smile at him and continued.

“So why did you marry your wife then, Mr. Reeding?”  I leaned up again and this time I put my hand on his knee.

Still clinching his jaw tightly, he spat out, “Because I owed her dad money on a contract and he gave me no choice.  She was in love with some English rogue he hated, so he forced us both in the marriage.  I repay my debt to him by keeping his daughter from marrying someone he hates.  Only thing I have to do is keep my name out of the papers – no scandals….”  He moved his hand on mine and slowly removed it from his leg.

Ooh, good one, Thad, I thought.  It explained the reluctance.

“So no scandals means no other women?”  I batted my eyes again.
