Denise let the hot water run over her shoulders, easing away the tension she’d been feeling since Friday. She was worn out, exhausted. And yet, she'd never felt more alive.

Because tonight she was going to go to bed with Ansel Philips.

They'd pulled into his house after almost six hours on the road. Six hours of waiting, watching and being watched. Six hours to regret, or second guess her decision. She wasn't sure if it was the warm looks Ansel was giving her, but she hadn't wavered for a minute.

              Not until now.

They'd eaten take out already with the guys. Now everyone had retreated to their bedrooms or the entertainment room on the first floor. There was also a lively game of billiards happening in the game room. But she and Ansel had other things to do.

He hadn't been kidding when he told her that he didn't need the sponsorship money. This was apparently one of four houses he owned, not including the old homestead his grandmother still owned, or the condo he'd given her as a gift.

He'd been a bit sheepish when he explained that he'd never researched where to buy a house, or a car for that matter. He didn't have a stock portfolio. He liked tangible investments, something he could hold in his hand. He just saw something he wanted and went for it. He'd made it clear that he was talking about her as well.

He wanted her. Badly enough to call the client and make sure she'd be at his beck and call during the racing season. Badly enough to buy a new trailer.

Badly enough to let his guard down.

              She wanted him too.

Badly enough to embark on an affair that could destroy her career. But it wouldn't. He wouldn't put her at risk. She knew that now. Ansel might be reckless and wild, but he had a conscience.

              She hoped so anyway.

She was rubbing oil into her skin when she heard the soft knock at the door. She slipped her silk robe over her shoulders and went to answer it.

Ansel stood there in fresh clothes, his hair still damp from his own shower. He looked good enough to eat.

              "Come in."

He stepped inside and shut the door behind him.

              "So what do you think?"

She looked around the room. It was sparsely furnished but huge, with heavy carved wooden furniture. It was masculine in the extreme, with a gas fireplace across the room. He walked over to it and turned it on.

"It's the biggest guest room I've ever seen."

He looked a bit sheepish as he walked back across the room.

              "Actually, this is my room."

              Her mouth dropped open.

              "Oh. So everybody knows…"

              He shrugged.

"They don't know anything. But they can guess all they want. And they will."

He pulled her into his arms.

              "Does that bother you?"

              "I guess not…"

He brushed her hair away from her face.

"Good. I don't want you worrying about anything. Just this…"

He leaned forward and caught her chin, tilting her head back. Denise looked up at him. His bright blue eyes were serious as he stared at her lips. This time when he kissed her there was no teasing, no easing into it. It was game on from the start.

He moaned as she melted against him, his hands sliding all over the silky robe. He grabbed her hips and lifted her so that she straddled him. Then he walked across the room, never stopping the kiss for an instant. The next thing she knew, he was lowering her to the bed.

He leaned back and pulled his shirt up.

"I want you so bad Denise…"

She stared up at him, not wanting to ask, but feeling like she had to.

"Ansel… Is this because I'm black? You're not just… curious, are you?"

Ansel's hand went to his chest and his eyebrows went sky high. He looked as shocked as Denise's Aunt Trudy that Sunday she found out the Pastor was a secret drinker.

              "You're black?!?"

She smacked his shoulder playfully. His blue eyes were smoldering as the smile faded away. He peeled her robe open in the front and let his fingers skim over the tips of her breasts.

But he never took his eyes from hers.

              "It's because you're
you
…"

She gasped at the sensation of his hands on her bare breasts.

              "Beautiful… brilliant… a pain in my ass…"

She laughed and he lowered his head to her breasts. Her fingers ran through his silky hair as he lavished her breasts with attention, licking, sucking, stroking. Her robe had come all the way open and she could feel his hardness through his jeans pressing against her junction.

She was writhing on the bed, wanting more. He seemed to sense it because he shifted back and unbuttoned his worn in jeans. Then he titled his head to the side and looked at her, letting out a low whistle.

              "Not yet."

Then he was between her legs, kissing her there. Denise nearly flew off the bed at the feel of his soft lips against her pussy lips. And his tongue- and his lips- oh!

She was peaking before she knew what was happening. Her body arched off the bed, ripples of pleasure shooting through her entire body.

              "Oh- my- goodness!"

She heard Ansel chuckle above her. And then he was on top of her, naked, skin to skin. His over sized erection pressed into her stomach, making her whimper with need. Then he reached down and guided himself inside her.

Ansel eased himself inside her as slowly as possible. The girl was much tighter than anything he'd ever felt before… sweeter too. He grimaced at the exquisite sensation of her silky walls hugging his cock.

              "Oh my God…"

She was making soft whimpering sounds beneath him. She sounded utterly feminine and completely out of control. He was very close to loosing his thin hold on himself. It was the only thing keeping him from plunging himself deep inside her over and over again.

But he had to go slow and easy… just this once… at least until she got used to him.

Ansel knew he was above average. Most women seemed to appreciate this. But Denise was different. She was already a tiny woman to begin with and she'd told him earlier that she hadn't been with many men. And none for a long time.

The fact that she was letting him inside her was an honor and a privilege. And he did not want to mess this up. Just hold on… a little… while… longer...

              "Unffff…"

Inch by inch, he lowered himself into her sheath. Her plump little lips grasped at him as her sugar walls undulated gently. He'd never felt anything so good in his life.

Time passed slowly as he started to rock, circling his hips. With each rotation he slid in a bit deeper. And then, just like that, he was inside her.

Slowly he began to ride her, using long slow strokes. He could feel her body quivering all around him. He forced himself to go slow, to keep up the heavy, grinding pace. He didn't want it to be over… not ever…

              "My God Denise… you feel…"

She moaned and he felt her rise up off the bed as she came again. There was nothing more beautiful in the world. Her body clamped down on his, squeezing his cock and sending him over the edge.

He grasped her hips and drove into her again and again.

              "I'm going to cum- I can't-"

He groaned as his seed erupted from his shaft, coating her womb with his essence. Again and again he came, it seemed to go forever. His hips jerked as he thrust wildly out of tempo.

              "Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Oh Jesus!"

He collapsed on top of her, covering her neck with kisses. He'd never cum that hard, or that much, in his life. Not even close. It was as he pulled out and was treated to the delicious sight of his white seed on her dark pink lips that he realized something.

He'd forgotten to put on a condom.

Eleven

Denise rolled over, stretching her body languorously. She felt amazing. Sore, but in a good way.

              A very, very good way.

When she woke up it was to see Ansel sitting in front of the fireplace with a guitar. He was playing softly and humming a tune. Every now and then he'd stop and write something down.

She slipped her robe on and came to stand behind him. He was shirtless and the firelight danced over his chiseled muscles and remarkable physique. She couldn't help but marvel at his masculine beauty. That was the right word to use- he wasn't merely handsome. He was beautiful.

They'd made love all night. He had to race the day after tomorrow- she glanced at the window and saw that the sky was already growing light- no, he had to race the day after
today.

              "Hey."

He turned around, looking like he'd been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

              "Hey beautiful."

She sat down beside him on the throw rug in by the fire.

              "I didn't know you played."

              He looked sheepish.

"Yeah, it's sort of a hobby."

"It sounds like more than a hobby Ansel. It sounds
good
."

"I'm glad you like it. Because I wrote it for you."

Denise's lips opened in sweet surprise.

              "Want to hear it?"

She nodded. Ansel started playing a song with no lyrics. It was sweet and slow, tender. But it built to a fiery crescendo. It was good- as good as half the stuff you heard on the radio, if not better.

              "That's beautiful Ansel. Thank you."

"I'm glad you like it. Because I have to ask you something that might put you in a slightly less congenial mood."

Denise took a deep breath and nodded. She was afraid to wonder what the question might be. She was almost certain that she wasn't going to like it.

              "Alright."

He set down the guitar and took her hand. He squeezed her hand and looked up at her.

              "Denise…"

              "Yes?"

              "Are you on the pill?"

Her shock was complete. This was the last thing she'd been expecting. Her mouth opened and shut a few times before she shook her head.

She was an idiot. How could she have forgotten birth control? Because he'd overwhelmed her, that's why. But it wasn't his fault.

"After the first time I realized I'd forgotten to wear a condom. I should have said something then. But I didn't."

Her mind reeled. They'd made love three- no- four times. Four times. Unprotected.

"Why Ansel? How could you keep that to yourself?"

He grimaced but he didn't look away.

"The first time was an honest mistake. But after that I figured that maybe, just maybe, if I got you pregnant, you'd stay with me."

              Her jaw opened.

"Ansel! That is the wrong way to get a girlfriend. A child is a serious responsibility!"

"I wasn't thinking girlfriend. I was thinking… something more permanent. I'm falling in love with you Denise."

              Now he'd really shocked her.

"I need some time to think about this Ansel. I care about you- a lot- but this is too much to take in."

She stood and grabbed her suitcase, dragging it to the hallway.

              "Denise- wait!"

She turned and shook her head. He looked utterly devastated. And so, so alone.

              "Just- give me some space."

And she shut the door behind her.

Ansel shifted, passing the lead car on the outside. He was struggling today, for the first time since, well, ever. He was still in the lead, but he'd been trading places with another driver all day.

              Donnehy, the bastard.

It was worse than just coming in second, specifically because it
was
Donnehy. The cocksure little jerk had been a thorn in Ansel's side since he came on the scene less than two years ago. And he seemed to have it in for Ansel specifically.

But that's not what had him distracted today. There was one thing on his mind, and one thing only.

Denise.

It had been two days since she'd talked to him. Two days since she'd checked into a hotel. She'd avoided him ever since his confession about the birth control. Ever since he'd told her he loved her.

He felt like he was going to lose his mind if she didn't forgive him.

She had to give him a second chance. She had to.

He felt Donnehy riding his flank and floored it, pushing the car harder than he should. Something felt off a moment before it happened. The world tilted and then exploded in a profusion of sounds and light.

Everything slowed down as he crashed. It wasn't just an accident either. It was a damn pile up. He felt cars bump into him as they rode blindly through the smoke.

Ansel heard the sirens. He felt the hands lifting him from the car. He felt the heat of the fire from Donney's car.

              "Is he ahhhrit?"

              "What's that Ansel?"

Someone was talking to him. They kept saying his name, telling him that he was going to be alright. He tried to nod but he couldn't. Something was holding his neck in place. A brace maybe. He couldn't tell.

The sun was shining in his eyes so he shut them. When he opened them again he could see fluorescent lights. Then the room went out of focus, so he closed them again.

His last thoughts before the darkness overtook him were of Denise. He thought of their night together and the chance she might be pregnant. If he was going to die, he hoped he might leave behind a child with the woman he loved.
