I packed my dresses carefully in the new dress bags. Michael
dropped me at the coach. Gramps was on a day trip with his Manx
friends, he’d woken me before he went to say goodbye. I hated
leaving them, Grams bless her was on her merry way to bingo,
kissing me goodbye at the ferry.

“Tell Laura to come to Blackpool for the weekend and go and
see her, tell Grams you’re going overnight fishing, but remember to
buy the fish before you get back.” He smiled.

“I have those very plans a foot. I forgot about the fish
though you devious little witch, thanks and please be careful with
this Sam bloke Michelle, please? I will see you in summer, if they
haven’t sold up, well at least for a week. I’m here all summer
working at the docks, so hoping they don’t…”

The week was shit and the only highlights were the hours, yes
hours I spent on the phone with Michelle, pulling her leg about
things on her list she now knows I have seen and I have promised to
do them all, but we’re agreed the sex on the beach is a no go! What
with visits to the hospital and worrying about mum, this week has
been crap. She'd had surgery and all went well. The scans and
x-rays however spotted several old breaks, which had healed. She
had at some stage had a bleed on her brain. I knew when that
happened. It was the last time dad hit me badly hurting me too,
that was the time she went funny, she has these lost days and
apparently, these are down to that.

I had talked in confidence to a social worker, explaining our
predicament, but unless mum pressed charges, they too were
powerless to act. She maintained a fall from the stairs in a
momentary blackout had caused the fall. Being, as I was fed up of
having to explain why mum wouldn’t leave him, I told all problems
to the hospital social worker. They offered us counselling, and the
offer of protection from him was made by the police, but she was
adamant she’d just fell down the stairs in the dark. They saw what
she was like and they too were fighting a losing battle. What would
snap her out of this? Would she ever change?

I had a free afternoon so I went shopping. I checked out the
jewellers in town and saw a nice ring, not a flashy engagement
ring, a Claddagh ring. They luckily had them in all types and
styles, I remembered her saying she loved silver, but it made her
itch. I chose a nice one with a platinum band, nearly silver right?
It was really pretty too and had a heart shaped sapphire in the
grips of the two hands! I read the meaning of the word Claddagh
even that was perfect. A friendship and promise ring.

I had to guess her ring size though. I figured if it fit on
my little finger it should fit on hers, my logic made no sense, but
I was the same in the lingerie shop! If it fit in my hand, the cup,
it would fit her boobs in and not buying the stuff made me look
like a pervert! I need her sizes they are really confusing. I’m
getting her some fancy frilly things, when I sneak a look at the
sexy stuff she had on before!

I made my way to the Frog, I ordered a drink then sat and
people watched. Michelle was having that effect on me. I smiled
just at the thought of her. Andy came in and joined me and we sat
in silence just drinking. We ended up as drunk as a pair of
proverbial skunks, Andy and I were legless, as we walked home and
to our amazement dad was in the front room, watching
television.

We sat and watched him but he ignored us. Not once did he say
anything to us, or ask how mum was, not even holding his hand out
for money. Not so big with us two are you, you mean little bastard?
I got up and went to bed, Andy followed. Oh, my head was killing
me. I haven’t been this bad since New Year and I then remember the
girl from Heaven. She was the fumble on the market stall. Poor cow,
I smiled Michelle wouldn’t entertain the market stall, nor would I
take her there. She is home tomorrow and I missed her. Hell, I
didn’t phone her! She would be mad, I will explain when I see her,
and then I sleep.

I had a bath shaved and changed and went to meet her, the
coach had arrived, shit she was here already! She was already off,
bags in hands she smiled and dropped the bags and jumped into my
arms. Now this I’d missed, I breathed in her scent, she smelt so
nice, as I kissed her and put her down, grabbing her
bags.

“How’s your Mum?” Not the first thing I would have said to
her, she’s worried about mum?

My coach came and I kissed and hugged Michael goodbye, and
started the journey back, it seemed to take forever in getting
back. I was tired and fed up when I got to the art gallery. I
collected my bags and turned to walk home… Sam was here, and I
thought he'd forgotten me. I dropped my things and ran into his
arms he swept me up in his arms, a week without kissing my hunk. He
kissed me as if we’d not seen each other in months. He finally put
me down and picked up my bags, I carried my dress bags.

“I missed you, how’s your Mum?” Kissed again, oh I had missed
these.

“She is fine and out of hospital next Monday. I missed you
more, sorry for letting you down and not coming.” He held my hand
juggling the other bags.

“Well my place is empty lets, head there. I need to do some
making up for lost time, and fast. I met your Dad and he knows I’m
meeting you and will get you back in one piece.”

We were out of luck because his dad, for a change was in, and
sat watching the telly. I went straight upstairs and Sam followed.
He put some music on and he lay at the side of me and we just
kissed and hugged, I could have done more, but not with him in the
house, but this was nice. His bed needed to be bigger
too.

“Oh wait I have a present for you.” He laughed his lips red
from the kisses, his cheeks flushed too.

“I have one for you as well.” I got his from my bag and he
went to his drawers and handed me a small box. I opened mine and
laughed. He looked hurt.

“No Sam it’s beautiful really it is so pretty, thank you
angel. Just open yours please.” He smiled and he undid the ribbons
and emptied the contents into his hand.

“Great minds think alike Mi cielo.” We had bought each other
Claddagh rings, his was just a chunky gold one with our initials
interlocked on the heart, and mine was so pretty, the heart in my
ring was a sapphire. It was the brightest blue and
beautiful.

“They’re a promise of love, friendship, and commitment. I’m
shocked we both bought the same thing.” He kissed me as Andy came
bounding in.

“Not disturbing you, am I?”

“No, Sam is just about to take me home, I have work tomorrow.
No worries Andy.” Sam picked up my bags and we headed down the
stairs and out of the door.

“I can’t believe we got matching rings, that’s kismet or
whatever they call it? Mine is a perfect, fit how’s yours.” I
laughed and looked at what finger he had it on, phew right hand
ring finger.

“Perfect, see.” He walked me home and came in for coffee. Mum
was the only one up.

“I’m doing Sam a coffee would you like one?”

“No, Michelle I’m going to bed. Goodnight you two.” I kissed
Sam.

“Still want a drink or what?” He grinned.

“What’s the alternative to the coffee exactly?” I knew what I
wanted, but that wasn’t on the cards.

“I have on one of your favourite sets of underwear Sam.” He
smiled.

“Really Mi cielo, let me see which ones?” He asked me stand in
front of him. What was he up to? His hands were on my legs working
their way to the top of the stockings he rolled them down, I had my
hands in his hair. Next, leg so gently done too. He helped rid me
of my knickers, as I stepped out of them. I wondered what new thing
he had planned. He looked up at me and smiled.

“Are you ready Mi cielo?” I smiled.

“Bring it on…” His head disappeared under my dress, his tongue
moved from the top of my knee to the top of my leg, his tongue
played in my lady garden, Tasha’s words not mine, my head was in a
tizzy as he invaded me. Oh my Lord what was he doing? He had his
hands on my backside and pulled me closer to him. He was tracing
the area with his tongue he slipped it inside me, sheisk. He was in
me with his tongue. This was amazing…

He blew gently along it, causing me to squeal a little and
fist his hair. This turned me into a quivering wreck. He picked, me
up and sat me on the couch, if he’d have waited much longer my legs
would have buckled, I couldn’t cope with all the amazing, things he
was doing to me. He was yet to finish, he was still pleasuring me
with his tongue. He had me lie down and he lay at the side of me,
he was kissing me, my taste on his lips and now his fingers had
taken over.

I undid his pants and slipped my hand down and freed him, I
moved my hand slowly up and down, his kisses muffled my cries, his
moaning deepened, my name was being whispered into my
ear.

“Michelle, I want you really Mi cielo. Marry me, love me and
let me have you, all of you?” Oh, my God, I wanted him too. Oh, too
late… He had come, my hand sticky and warm, I had him all over my
hands, and his head was in my chest.

“Shit, what do you do to me?” I kissed his lips. He had asked
me to marry him. I definitely heard that right, or was it just in
the heat of the moment?

“Grab my bag it’s here at the side of the couch.” He searched
for it.

“Found it, what do you want?” I smiled.

“Can you grab me a tee shirt from the top, please?” I wiped
the mess up cleaning him he was still hard and wow he liked the
touch, he smiled and watched as I wiped his length, he
groaned.

“Enjoying the show Sam?” He kissed me. Yet again robbed of the
actual doing it. I ached for him.

“Yes, the show was amazing, answer my question please Mi
cielo.” I shoved the tea shirt and abandoned underwear, in the bag.
I lay down in front of him my back to his front he wrapped his arms
around me. “I said I would ask you again. Not having you with me
last week killed me.” I missed him too but marrying him was such a
massive thing.

“I will someday Sam yes but not yet, I love you so much and
I’m not going anywhere. Really you need to keep asking, I will say
yes someday, just not yet.” I showed him my ring. “I promise
someday but not yet.” He held me tight as I fell asleep in his
arms. I woke up when the front door shut, Dad had left for
work.

“Sam, wake up. Sam” I kissed him and he started to
wake.

“Morning you.” he kissed me back.

“You stayed the night again. I have to be going to work in an
hour.” He hugged me tightly.

“I still have a couple of days off.” I lay and let him hug me,
I had my arms wrapped around his, I didn’t want to go to work I
wanted to stay here with him. He was nuzzling the back of my
neck.

“Sam, stop that I have to go to work.” I got up I needed to
wash and change. I had a quick shower, change of clothes and put on
my uniform. I bundled my clothes up and brought them downstairs,
and threw them in the washer with other stuff from my bag. I put
the kettle on made us a drink. He was fast asleep I put the drink
on the floor and watched him.

“Sam wake up, your drinks ready.” I sipped my tea and watched
as he woke.

“Hello Mi cielo, you’re ready for work already, do you have to
go in?” I looked at him.

“I need to I have had a week off, and I’m covering the others
holidays, so yes Sam, I need to be in work.”

“You’re quiet, are you all right? Michelle, are you okay? The
marriage thing I meant, but yes I will wait until you’re ready
baby, please tell me you’re all right with me?” I was so happy with
him, but I needed him in a way, he wasn’t for giving me.

“I’m just wondering we’re not doing too well on the sex front,
how about we don’t? Marrying you is a nice thought, I missed you
too I’m thinking about it but not yet, I’m not saying no, just give
me time please, you and me are damn perfect for each other, so
don’t change and keep asking me angel.” I wondered if taking the
pressure off him. Would make him want me, as much as I wanted him?
Threatened with my dad’s right hook, isn’t that much of a turn on,
after all. He smiled.

“Really you want to wait?” I shrugged my shoulders.

“Not really, but doing the other stuff, will do until you
think Dad will be all right with us. That conversation you have
here, so I can listen in on it though.” Well, I’d lit the touch
paper see if my counter attack works. Besides, he was good at the
other stuff too. The longer we waited perhaps it would be better
and worth the wait?

Drinks finished, he did a quick toilet visit and walked me to
work. He was going to the hospital to see Emma so I made her some
sandwiches, putting her favourite cakes in a box. He smiled as I
handed them over. A quick kiss and he left, he was going to call in
for lunch. Work went quickly, I was already on my lunch break when
Sam passed the garden were I was sat eating. I blew a wolf whistle
and his head shot round to see me with my fingers in my mouth
whistling, and smiling.

“Michelle, really that’s not very lady like.” He kissed me
then stole my sandwich.

“Cheeky sod, that’s mine this is yours, lady like, me?
Please.” He sat on the wall with me.
