It seemed things were settled, or nearly so.
“I’ve nothing with me. No clothes and nothing else.”

“Adonis, go with her and help her get
whatever she needs,” Hercules ordered.

So he was to be her watchdog now. How
exciting could that be? Should she test his mettle? He followed her
out of the hotel and to her car. He whistled his appreciation.

“You have a beautiful car, Lucy,” he
exclaimed with feeling. He ran his hands over the exterior. “Can I
drive?” he asked hopefully.

“Are you kidding? My car I drive. You have to
earn the privilege,” she said and she had never had anyone earn
that right.

He hopped in the passenger seat and clicked
his seat belt. Smart guy, he was about to get a helluva ride. She
started the car and and it roared like a lion. She backed out of
the parking lot smoothly. Once she was headed for home she
accelerated fast and Adonis slammed back in his seat. He didn’t
look scared but she would run him around the block and see if she
could change that.

Tires squealed as she took the turn hard and
sharp, but Adonis showed no signs of fear. Were these gods
indestructible? Was that why he wasn’t scared? She hated being so
hard on her precious but she tried one more time taking the next
turn just as fast. She then turned into her parking space and
slammed on the brakes at the last minute. Adonis turned to her, his
eyes shining bright and a smile on his face.

“Can we do that again?”

Just her luck, he was an adrenaline junky!
“No, that was a one time thing. It’s too hard on precious. Come on,
let’s get it and go,” she snapped at him. He looked confused.

They walked up the side walk to her building
and she wondered what he thought of it. It was a nice building with
medium security. There was a fenced in area accessible only with a
key, camera’s alarms, and on site security, but no doorman. Her
previous apartment had been a dump, but she’d been alone and hadn’t
needed anything fancy. She’d been saving her money so she would
have enough to support her baby and send her to college. Lucy was a
very organized girl and she wanted to do everything exactly
right.

She pulled her keycard and they accessed the
building. He followed her up one flight of stairs and to the second
apartment on the right. She opened the door and as he followed her
in, he looked around with interest. Her place fell squarely in mid
range in just about everything. It was not cheap nor was it lavish.
She had a nice leather couch and two matching recliners. She had
mid size TV, wood coffee and end tables, she had splurged a bit on
the wood dining room table and chairs. The kitchen was nice with
stainless steel appliances not they were by no means the nicest
available. She went back to her bedroom and was a little annoyed
that Adonis followed her.

Her bedroom was her private sanctuary and she
rarely let anyone in. Even her parents had never expected the tour
of her new apartment to include her private master suite. He
confidently followed her so sure she would let him in that he hit
the door as she closed it.

“Hey, I’m suppose to stick with you,” Adonis
grouched.

“My bedroom is my private domain. Live with
it!”

She grabbed her bag, she had been expecting
to travel once she got her baby back. She would be three months old
now and Lucy needed to get a birth certificate and other things in
place so she could prove the baby was hers. She hoped the gods
might help her since the baby was one of them. The ease with which
she’d been impregnated, the very first attempt, she felt sure the
gods had been hiding their reproductive capacity.

It made her wonder why, but she didn’t really
care. She knew how to keep her mouth shut and she fully intended
to. She’d owe them a solid if she got her baby girl back. She still
called her baby or little girl because she was afraid if she named
her it would jinx her chances of ever getting her back. She picked
up the bag, slung it over her shoulder, unlocked the door, and
headed back to Adonis. He was relaxing on her couch watching TV. At
least he hadn’t stood there banging on the door.

“I’m ready now,” she said.

He turned the TV off and stood up. Standing
so close facing her, he seemed to tower over her five foot seven
inches. She still didn’t find him intimidating, she was tough
enough and well trained enough to use his size against him. She
snorted at him and turned and marched out the door where he came to
join her. It locked automatically so she turned and led the way
down the stairs and to the car.

“How bout letting me drive now since it’s the
way back?” he asked clearly eager to get a chance at the wheel.

“You don’t understand no very well, do
ya?”

He looked sheepish. “You can’t blame a guy
for trying.”

She could, but in this case she didn’t. She
kinda liked him not that she’d admit to it or ever want him to know
it. She started the motor, again it roared to life without a
problem. She slammed it in gear and took off like a bat out of
hell. Adonis was smiling all the way there.
Crazy god
! She
pulled into the same spot she’d parked in before between two black
SUVs. The gods probably rented them for the mission. They were a
good choice for their comfort and ability to haul stuff, but they
screamed federal agency. Lucy’s agency avoided them like the plague
for good reason.

She hopped out of her precious and went to
where Adonis waited. He grabbed her bag and she followed him in.
They went to the room and Adonis had a key to let them in. It was
set up as mission control with things posted all over the bulletin
boards in the room and two more gods had joined in the planning
session.

“You did a good job gathering information,”
Hercules praised as his eyes settled on her. “How did you develop
these skills?”

“I’d tell you but I’d have to kill you,” she
explained.

“A joke to deflect my question?”

“No joke,” she said as she gazed at him
seriously. Hercules scowled, it showed he didn’t know what to think
of her and Lucy liked it that way. Always keep them guessing was a
motto of hers.

“This is our plan. We will go to the building
and stay beyond their ability to detect us. You will cause a
distraction while we loop the cameras so they show nothing alarming
and we will disconnect their alarm system. We will then enter
taking out every guard and neutralizing every employee until we are
in control of the facility. Any prisoners or children found will be
flown out and you will be reunited with your daughter. How does the
plan sound to you?” he asked looking at Lucy and Adonis. Adonis
nodded and turned slightly to see Lucy better.

Lucy asked, “How do you intend to get into
the cameras and alarms?”

“You’ve already gotten us into the cameras. I
hoped you could hack the alarms too. We intend to go early in the
morning,” Hercules said.

“Don’t you think they will be concerned when
I show up that early? I’ve gone there several times but always
during business hours. I don’t want them to have me arrested.”

“You’ll have to come up with something
convincing to tell them,” Hercules explained. “We can’t wait much
longer. We were watching the cameras and we caught a conversation.
They are starting to pack up to leave. It’s now or possibly
never.”

“Maybe if I could convince the doctor he’s
been betrayed from within his organization. Nothing like suspecting
everyone you work with to screw up your head,” Lucy decided.

“What will you need to do it?” Adonis
asked.

“We’ll pull off a few pictures of my baby and
I’ll tell him someone sent them to me and said she was in their
facility with other prisoners. That should at least distract
him.”

“That will be a piece of cake!” Hercules
agreed.

“I hope so,” Lucy said unconvinced.

She and Adonis spent the next hour or so
pulling shots of her baby from the surveillance cameras and making
them look like someone had taken the pictures with a camera. Once
they got the photos and a note that she would say came with the
pictures, done, they would turn in and get some sleep. She hoped
she felt more confident in the morning. The plan was sound, but so
much could go wrong and this was just too important to take any
chances.

They finished the photos and the letter so it
was time to go to bed. It was a little awkward although she wasn’t
sure why until he spoke. “We have to share a room but there are two
beds,” Adonis said.

“I’m not shy, let’s get to bed now.” Adonis
turned red, she smiled to herself. It was odd to see the big guy
embarrassed. Lucy worked with many big men and she couldn’t
remember any of them ever blushing like that. She concluded that
her Adonis wasn’t very experienced. Her Adonis? What the hell was
wrong with her? Forming an attachment, especially to a god, was
dangerous especially in her current predicament. “Lead the way,”
she instructed him.

He turned, they went to the hall, and
followed it a few doors down. He had a key card that he used on the
door and he swung it open. Lucy wondered why Hercules had assumed
she would prefer to room with Adonis. It didn’t matter, she could
do anything for a night if she got her baby back in the morning.
He’d been right about the two beds and they were both queen size.
The room was nice, roomy, there was a desk and two chairs. She
could see part of the bathroom from where she stood, so she walked
over to look at it. It was large and had a shower that would hold a
family with multiple shower streams located in several
positions.

“You can go first, if you’d like,” Adonis
offered.

It took Lucy a moment to realize he was
letting her use the bathroom first to get ready for bed. She smiled
at him genuinely. “Thanks, I think I’ll do that right now.”

She went to her bag and pulled out her
nightgown. It was a bit sexy for sleeping with a male roomy but it
wasn’t that bad. She had a robe and he’d never see the nightgown if
she was careful. She grabbed her shampoo, toothbrush, floss,
mouthwash, soap, and face care pack. She really had a lot of things
to make herself clean and pretty. She hurried to the bathroom
before he changed his mind. She took her shower and though her mind
was on Adonis and his sexiness, she hurried and managed to get done
efficiently. She brushed her teeth and then she washed her face.
Her skin was sensitive, sometimes more than others and who knew
why. Maybe it was aggravated by food choices, more sun than usual,
or the phases of the moon. No on had figured it out.

She went through her routine washing her face
with the special cleanser, drying it thoroughly, and then putting
on the moisturizer. She took a good long look in the mirror and
wondered what Adonis thought of her. Thinking of him was a good
distraction from the stress and worry she had felt every minute of
every day since her baby had been taken. She’d stalled long enough.
Her nightgown was covered with her fluffy robe and he wouldn’t see
a thing. She went out to the room to tell him he could go now.

He was relaxed on his bed his long frame
stretched out but relaxed sans shirt. He was watching a show, from
the laughter she heard it must be a comedy. He smiled then looked
up and their gazes caught and held. Her heart beat sped up and heat
raced through her veins. She was burning up and he was the cause.
He stood and walked toward her slowly like a jungle cat stalking
its prey. When he reached her, he stopped so close he almost
touched her. She could feel heat and strength radiate out from him.
She felt need, dark and dangerous swell inside her. She was so
tempted to reach out and stroke his naked chest with her hands.

She held back watching and waiting to see
what he would do next. Slowly, so slowly it was painful, his hand
reached out to stroke her cheek. His hand was warm and it trembled.
She pressed against it hoping it would just stay there for a while.
He moved in closer and now we were touching barely. His hand moved
around to the back of my head and as his lips dropped down toward
mine, his hand pulled me in too. The tingle that shot through me as
our lips met was shocking. Her lips parted and stayed that way as
if expecting to receive something. He gently kissed her and then he
pressed harder and his tongue impaled her mouth. Her tongue reached
out hesitantly touching his and he stroked it. This couldn’t be
real!

It felt like a fantasy come to life and she
must be dreaming. His hands stroked her up under her satiny gown
and she melted into him. Lucy was losing control and she liked it.
His lips and tongue plundered and claimed and suddenly she was
naked and she felt cool air on her. His mouth moved down her neck
and she felt a pinch, his eyes glowed like a vampire in a B flick.
That told her she must be dreaming because no one’s eyes glowed.
Lucy would have heard it on the news if the god’s eyes glowed.
Everyone would be talking about that. This was just an erotic
dream, she thought as he lay her down on her bed. She hadn’t had
sex or a dream about sex in a year, maybe more.

He stripped his clothing as she watched with
interest. What would her dream imagine his body to be like?
Perfect, well-muscled and humongously, if that even a word, hung.
Lucy choked a little at the thought of accepting so much even in a
dream. She decided to buck up, if she dreamed it, she could take
it. At least she hoped she wouldn’t wake up screaming in pain. She
was relaxing, she felt almost drugged she was so relaxed. He joined
her on the bed and he was stretched out on top of her. Lucy was
getting use to the glowing eyes that examined every inch of
her.

He kissed her again but not gently. No, this
time he was like an animal and it awoke that side of her. They
kissed hungrily, tasting each other as though they were starved. He
pulled back and started kissing his way down to her breasts. He
made it to them and sucked in one tasty berry sized nipple then the
next. He moaned in delight and she shivered. He bit down lightly
and her nipple seemed to grow longer. He moved back and forth
between the two, arousing her until she feared she would burst with
need.
