He
chuckled as I walked past him.
“Hey
wait.” He stopped. His hand touched my shoulder and sent shivers
through me. “What is your name?”
“Penny.”
I said.
“Penny,
I’m Jeremy.” His hand took mine. The warmth of his skin upon mine
was like a rush of desires burning through me.
“Jeremy.” I nodded.
“I feel
so awful that you didn’t get your drink, so why don’t you let me
take you out tonight for a drink.” His words were so smooth like
fine silk, and usually I would take that as a sign that he was too
well with the ladies, but there was something different about him.
There was something about the look in his eyes, the touch of his
hand, and the beauty of his smile that made me want to know him
more.
“A
drink?” I said as I put my hands on my hips. “But you are a
stranger. Stranger danger.”
“Sometimes you have to step out into the danger to find what
is worth risking it all for.”
His
words sounded like smooth silk again, but I needed a little danger
in my life, and it had been way too long since I had a
date.
“Okay
fine.” I took a step toward the danger.
“Really,
cool.” He ran his hand through his coal black hair. “There is this
bar down the street, it’s called Stars and Studs, and we can meet
there at eight.”
“Alright, but just be warned I carry mace and I pack a hell
of a right hook.” I winked.
“Noted.”
His blue eyes were looking deep into mine again and for the first
time in years I blushed.
“See you
later stranger.” I told him as I walked away.
