“Watch and learn, Spirit-fingers.” She remarked at Courtney before throwing herself in to a countless never-ending successive series of cartwheels at an impressive quick pace followed by jumping on to the table that a couple of the cheerleader sat behind, then jumped in to the air whilst flipping her entire body before landing on the point of her toes with her hands up in the air followed by another cartwheel and ended it all with a grand finale of a split. She then jumped up and put her hands on her hips triumphantly and flashed a great gleaming grin. She saw the look of disbelief and amazement on their gaping faces.

Sienna’s heart raced, her entire body felt like it was on fire. She sure as hell should have stretched before doing that but she wasn’t going to let it show. It was all worth it just to see that smug obnoxious smirk wiped off that face. Courtney just looked peeved and looked around rather apprehensively clearly having not expected this.

“That was amazing!” Blondie exclaimed giddily, stood up and began clapping hard. “Stop.” Courtney scolded and pushed her back in to her seat effortlessly as the other claps around the room quickly quieted. “Well, I suppose you’re alright but its not like we can make any rushed decisions. And as for your friend…” Courtney drawled and paused as she stared at Rose blankly.

“Rose?” she offered up her name tentatively.

“Well, she’s not exactly a lightweight, is she? I mean, those feet-“

“That’s it we’re done. We don’t need your stupid squad anyway. No offence to the rest of you girls.” Sienna retorted and snatched her backpack up from the floor.

“Let’s go, Rose!” she called over her shoulder before noting the shocked faces of some of the hopeful potential cheerleaders.

“No wait! Come back! Maybe we were-“ Courtney’s voice faded behind them as they rushed off.

“Oh my God! Sienna, that was amazing!” Rose cried ecstatically as soon as they got out and smacked her arm jovially. “
Ow
, is anybody looking? Oh good lord, do you think it’s possibly to lose your virginity to the floor? I haven’t done the splits since I was thirteen years old!” Sienna grumbled before breaking out in to a hysterical laugh along with her best friend. She couldn’t believe she had just done that.

“I’m sorry if I screwed things up for you. I know how much this cheerleading thing meant to you.” She said somberly.

Rose looked at her as if she were proud of her and not mad at all. Sienna’s heart swelled with love. True friends really were the rarest of the precious gems found on this earth and Sienna had most certainly hit the jackpot with Rose.

“Sienna, you’re my best friend, like I need those-“

“Helloooo! Earth to moron!” the sound of bubblegum thwacking brought Sienna’s mind hurtling back to the present. She saw Courtney standing in front of her with an amused look on her face
. Oh crap, I zoned out again.

“So is it true?” she asked and narrowed her eyes at her curiously. Sienna looked around at the group of girls who had all circled around her, all looking at her with blatant interest.
Um?
Even Rose looked fascinated. Sienna just wished she had a clue what they were talking about.

“I KNEW IT!” Courtney cried ecstatically and clasped her hands in to a fist under her chin. Everybody else just leaned back slightly as if they had just absorbed a key piece of information or worse…gossip.

“What?” Sienna asked alarmed at the manic joy in Courtney’s eyes. That was never good. She was pretty sure that’s what psychopaths looked like when they were strangling puppies or whatever.

“I knew this little innocent catholic girl thing was all an act! Deep down under all that self-righteous nerd act you’re just like us!” she cackled.

“There’s no shame in admitting it.” Blondie added naively. Sienna really needed to learn her name.

“Admitting what, crazy eyes?” she asked sardonically.

“You and Logan?” Rose said hesitantly as if she were insinuating
something
.

“Me and Logan…?” she said slowly as Blondie began jabbing her right index finger in and out (quite forcefully) of the circle shaped gap between her left thumb and index finger.

“Oh God! No! What do you take me for?” Sienna yelled quickly.

“You liar! We all know you’ve had a crush on him for
years
!” Courtney exclaimed.

“Pfft! What? What? WHAT?” she retorted rapidly with each syllable going an octave higher and higher until she sounded like a cartoon mouse, she was pretty sure only dogs could hear her at this point. She felt her cheeks burn scarlet as the girls began exchanging small smiles at each other as if they knew.

Logan Jackson?
I mean, yeah sure I get the appeal, yeah he’s tall dark and handsome but he’s also secretly really dorky.”

“Sienna-“

“He’s got these really big feet, like really creepy lookin’, not hairy like Frodo but more like big foot and has creepy toes and I mean lets face it he’s not the brightest Crayola in the pack.” She snorted.

“Shut up.” Rose hissed but Sienna barely heard her. She was so wrapped up in her denial.

“Do I think he’s handsome?
Sure
! Same way I know my cousin Pedro is handsome! He’s like a brother to me! A really unattractive, urgh put a shirt on, have a shower, smell ya later-“

“Really?” a notably familiar deep voiced boomed. She jumped like a cat with its hair standing on its ends when she saw what looked like half the football team standing behind her all dressed in their uniforms.

“Logan!” Sienna squeaked. Her heart instantly did its usual flip-flopping motion when it recognized him. He looked at her with those devilishly handsome dark eyes and wicked wolfish smile.

“When-How long have you been standing there? And since when were footballers so dainty on their feet?” she asked breathlessly and looked around helplessly. Seriously, not one of them could have knocked something over, coughed or hooted liked an owl? Nothing? Instead they all stood there smiling, smirking and blatantly ogling the girls in their tight revealing sports attire. Sienna suddenly realized she was showing
a lot
more skin than she was used to. Logan appreciated this fact too. It unnerved him how in just a couple of years someone could have changed so quickly.

“Long enough.” He replied with a small amused smile. He didn’t know what it was about Sienna that just couldn’t get him to be mad at her for even a second even whilst she was blatantly affronting him in front of the hottest girls in Haven Falls.

“Yeah, what are you guys even doing here?”

“We had football practice. We just popped by to show our appreciation of the importance of cheerleading tryouts.” Trent, the high school jerk, class clown and overall ridiculously handsome bully said smarmily as he put his arm around Courtney’s shoulders.

“Perverts.” Bethany muttered and shook her head as she came towards the boys, strutting out her chest and maneuvering her hips in a way that seemed to fluster half the room.

“Admirers!” Trent refuted as he openly ogled them all. Honestly, if he wasn’t even half as good looking as he was, those cheerleaders would have ate him alive and kicked his sorry ass out, but he was not. He was the picture of health and Aryan beauty with crystal blue eyes, golden hair, peaches and cream complexion. It also didn’t hurt that he was super fit and took pleasure in making sure everyone knew just how muscular his body was by whipping off his shirt at any given opportunity.

“Hey, Logan.” Bethany purred. He smiled slightly as if he were caught between confusion, amusement and flattery.

“Hey,” he answered back.

Sienna had the sudden urge to stick her foot out and trip Bethany over during her evocatively provocative catwalk. If only there was a staircase nearby wherein she could topple her over, she thought acerbically.

“So football, huh?” Sienna asked Logan bringing his attention away from Haven Falls’ answer to Megan Fox. Yes, she was that hot.
God
, Sienna had no chance. Now that she thought of it, most of the people in this room seemed to have won the Powerball when it came to the genetic department.

“Yup! Looks like we’ve got a new quarterback!” Trent hollered happily and squeezed Logan’s shoulder before coming over and putting his arm over hers. This did not go down well with Courtney although she didn’t say anything.

“I’ve never seen Coach so happy before! With our little secret weapon here, we’re going all the way to state championships, I know it!” he whooped then smiled at Sienna. She tried to edge away from him but he had his huge heavy arm around her locked in place.

“Hey, you new mamacita?” he asked curiously with a flirtatious look in those sparkling ice blue eyes.
Strange
, it did nothing for her.

“Seriously, Trent? I live like five blocks away from you. We’ve been in the same classes since kindergarten.” Sienna said amusedly.

“Oh, right.” He said blankly and moved on to the next pretty little thing his eyes settled on. “Yeah, anyway, let’s go Sienna. We have that…that thing.” Logan said abruptly and looked at her pointedly. She had no idea what he was talking about.

“Right.” She said unsurely.

“That thing! How could I forget? Rose, I’ll catch a ride with Logan today.” She said to a notably silent Rose who just nodded.

“You sure you can’t stay?” Bethany purred and literally pawed at him.

“No.” Sienna said briskly and turned on her heel. Apparently it was her turn to be all abrupt and weird. “Wait up!” he yelled as he came after her. The walk to the high school car park was awkward at best. They walked side by side in silence both unsure of what to say.

“So I-“ he began saying just as she barely got her words out.

“Cheerlea-“

“No, you go first.” He said quickly.

“Okay.” She said with a shaky laugh.
‘Seriously? Was this happening
?’ she thought giddily. She had only waited for this moment for all of her sixteen years on earth.
The awkward almost first kiss followed by the next not so typical dissing of the boy followed by the conventional awkward conversation about the almost kiss?

“I was just going to say- wait a minute! Is that your car?” she asked suddenly as they stopped five feet short of the gorgeous specimen of a car that was the old school classic 1969 Ford Mustang convertible that bled red glory. He smiled proudly as he ran his hands over the hood.

“Yeah, she’s a beauty isn’t she?
Ow
!” he squawked as her fist connected with his shoulder blade. In truth it hurt her a lot more than him. She winced and shook her hand.

“You were the asshole who drenched me this morning!” she growled.

“You’re freakishly strong for a scrawny kid!” he chuckled gruffly.

“I mean, for a beautiful delicate slender birdlike girl.” He quickly backtracked as he saw her deadpan expression.

“Don’t you forget it!” she admonished with a cheeky grin.

“Your humble carriage awaits, Milady.” He said before jumping out to the passenger side of the car and opening the door for her.

“When did you get your drivers license?” she asked excitedly, running her hands all over the hood. How time had passed. She must have been the only kid left in town without a car. “She’s a beauty!” Sienna cried happily before he could even answer. The car really was beautiful and most of cost a fortune.

“You rich daddy’s boys love your Mustangs don’t you?” she remarked humorously.

“Well, it was either that or a Porsche.”He sighed dramatically and winked at her, before getting in the car. She got in to the passenger seat smiling then looked at him expectantly. The interior of the car was all smooth black leather and smelt like…like
Logan
.

“Can I drive?” she asked suddenly with wide eyes as he put the keys in to the ignition.

“How long have you had your driver’s license?” he asked hesitantly as he began reversing the convertible. She looked at him beguilingly with a sweet innocent smile. “You haven’t got your license yet?” he remarked hammily as if it were the most outrageous thing he’d ever heard.

“I’ve been busy this summer!” she countered meekly.

“Doing what?
Tutoring
?” he retorted confusedly.

“Some of us aren’t heirs to millions you know!” she retorted pulling the poor girl card. That shut him up. His illustrious dark eyes softened.
Sucker
.

“I just didn’t get around to you know…practicing. I know the basics, come on!”

“Fine! Fine but only when we get on the road. I am not letting you crash my baby in the middle of the parking lot.” He sighed caving in to those big green eyes. She had that puss in boots mopey kitten face down to a t.
His baby?
She thought drolly. Who did he think he was? Dean Winchester?
Great, now even the car has beaten me to it. Is there anyone in town that hasn’t been his baby or his girl?

“And you listen to every command I give.” He said sternly as he drove out on to the empty road.

“Whoa, easy there Mr. Grey.” She kidded.

“I’m serious.” He said trying to put on his grim authorative voice. He didn’t look at her because he knew if he did, he would just break out in to laughter. He pulled the car up to the side.

“Yes, yes, fine! Let’s go!” she cried gleefully as they quickly exchanged seats.

“Seatbelt. Mirrors. Handbrake. First gear-“
“Yes! I know. Trust me.” She said as she did all of those things. In actual honesty, she had only received a few driving lessons and was shaky. This engine roared and was almost too powerful especially for a first time driver. She struggled a little with it but wasn’t about to admit that to Logan.
