“Shit,” he moans. “Is this what you want?” He knocks against me without letting up. “Is your clit so swollen that my cock rubbing you like this feels good?”

I grab onto his neck, then hair, meeting his relentless pounding, and my underwear is so wet that he’s almost sliding between my pussy lips.

“It’s so good!” I breathe. “You feel so good!”

He moves his chest back as I flatten my back against the wall, the only part of us now meeting are our hips, hammering together.

“I don’t want to come yet,” he slows down. “I don’t want it to end.” He presses his chest against mine as our eyes meet, and for a second, I think we’re actually going to kiss this time, but it’s only the heat of his lips I feel as he speaks. “If you don’t want me to kiss your lips you’re going to have to stop kissing me with your eyes.”

I smile, closing my eyes while I let out a moan, melting from his words. I wrap my legs around him even tighter, too obsessed with how he feels. “I want you so badly,” he whispers, and his lips are so soft that I’m not sure if they really even touched me or if it was just the air.

“Josh!” I moan as the familiar shudder of my body rapidly approaches. I work my hips, quickening our pace again.

“Luci,” he moans a warning. “You’re going to make me come.”

“Keep rubbing against me! Like that!” I pant, feeling his rod so stiff against my aching clit has me falling over the edge. “I’m going to come again!” I practically bite down on his ear.

“Oh god,” he grunts, just as my legs extend out, shaking. “I’m coming!”

He’s now meeting my thrusts with power, no longer gently pushing against me. His cock slams into me as my body is shoved into the stone, over and over again.

“Take it!” I hear him whisper through my orgasm as each extension of his cock coincides with a low grunt. I feel the wetness as it soaks through both our clothing.

“Keep coming!” I order him. “I need to feel you keep coming!”

“Uhhhh!” He grunts again as his cock thrashes wildly against me. “Fuck, it’s good! Yeah! Keep rubbing your cunt against me. Uh!”

“Ah!” I bite down on his shoulder to keep from wailing.

“That’s it! Uh!” His speed is unrelenting. “Come again for me, Luci! Come on! I’m gonna make that pussy come again!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah!” I thrust my hips as we both rub out another orgasm.

“Ohhhhh I feel another load coming!” His hand grabs my hair. “You want more of my come?” I nod, and he gives one final thrust, holding me tightly, pushing me into the wall. “There we go,” he groans, as more of his liquid oozes through his pants, mixing our juices together. “There we go,” he repeats quietly.

When his throbbing finally subsides, he lets out a small laugh.

“By the way, happy early Valentine’s Day,” he whispers.

“Yeah, you too.” I pant.

“What’s with you always making me come in my pants?” He shakes his head while setting me back down on the ground.

“I don’t know,” I hesitate, realizing what we just did.

“I’m sorry,” his hands cradle my face. “Please don’t regret this.”

I offer him a half smile, because as much as I want to, I don’t.

He backs away, and I give myself over, smoothing out the fabric of my dress. While it’s a little wrinkled, it isn’t stained or ruined, but Josh’s apparel is another story.

“I have other pants upstairs,” he says. “Do you want to come?”

“Yeah, okay,” I sigh, following him as we make our way back to the other side of the building. “This place has an upstairs?”

“Yeah, there are hotel rooms here.” We round the corner and he holds the door open for me as we step inside. “This place is absurd.”

“Wow,” I follow him into the stately building, through the ornately decorated lobby, and towards the large curved staircase.

“Luci?” I turn around mid-step, coming face to face with my old English teacher. I turn back to Josh, who is still facing the other way, three steps up, unable to turn around because of his stain.

“Sorry,” he whispers.

“What’s she going to say to me?” I ask, and he just shakes his head.

I descend the stairs, going back to the lobby, while Josh continues up.

“Hi, Ms. Harrington,” I offer a small smile. “Congratulations!”

“You can call me Deb now,” she smiles kindly. “We’re not in school anymore.”

“Right…” I laugh.

“Is there something going on between you and my brother?” She’s blunt, but not in an unfriendly way.

“No,” I attempt to hide my lie. “We’re actually,” I laugh. “We’re sort of friends now, I guess?”

“Friends?” It’s obvious she doesn’t believe me.

“Yeah,” I nod, believing the lie. “He helped me get a student teaching position at the school. I start the week after next.”

There we go, not a total lie.

“Babe?” A male voice booms.

“In here!” Deb responds, just as a tall, handsome man walks in. “Luci, this is my fiancé Matt. Matt, this is one of my past students, Luci.”

“Hi,” I reach out and shake his hand. “Congratulations.”

“Is she not the best teacher?” He smiles, his white teeth looking almost too perfect.

“Yeah, she’s great-”

“I think my brother was Luci’s favorite,” Deb chimes in, and a frown line forms.

“You were both good,” I swallow hard.

“Speak of the devil,” Matt looks towards the stairs just as Josh is coming back down.

“You changed?” She accuses.

“Yeah,” Josh affirms. “Spilled wine all over myself.”

He doesn’t look at me, but I can’t help my fixation with him. He’s broad and powerful - sexy, and a huge part of me can’t get over what I let happen just now. He’s done the worst thing someone could ever do to me - lie - and yet for some stupid reason I still think he’s the best.

“Luci?” His husky voice brings me back to the now.

“Yeah?” I whisper, willing my eyes not to betray me.
I don’t want to want him anymore!

“I was asking what you’re majoring in?” Ms. Harrington seems annoyed.

“Mathematics,” I swallow hard before pausing. I need to go. I shouldn’t be hanging around Josh. Not when he still has such an affect on me. “It was really wonderful seeing you again,” I breathe, “and congrats, but I really should get going.”

They all look at me confused.

“It was great meeting you,” I offer Matt a small wave.

“Luci,” Josh objects.

“You didn’t even eat yet!” Ms. Harrington stares at me, and then at Josh, bewildered.

“It’s a long drive back,” I can feel an anxiety attack coming on.

“We can get you a room here,” Ms. Harrington argues. “Or I’m sure my brother won’t mind sharing his.”

“Um,” I wince. If I was going to change my mind and stay, that did it.

“Deb!” Josh shouts.

“What is going on?” Matt finally speaks.

“I’m sorry, but it’s a little strange that you’re my brothers date tonight,” she admits.

“Whoa,” Matt gasps.

“Deb,” Josh growls.

I offer him a pleading look before walking outside, and I hear his footsteps not far behind as I make my way to the valet.

“I’m sorry,” he yells, catching up.

I wrack my fingers through my hair, my eyes already watering, knowing the right thing for me to do, for my own sanity, is to say goodbye and mean it.

“I’m so sorry, Luci,” he steadies me. “She didn’t mean it. It’ll be okay.”

“It’s not though!” I cry. “I shouldn’t have let that happen!”

“It’s okay,” he soothes.

The valet is giving us both a confused look as he hands my key to another guy to retrieve my car.

“I can just get it myself,” I rudely grab the car key from him, and Josh gives them both an apologetic look before following me.

“I’m confusing myself,” I wipe my eyes.

“Okay…” His voice trails off.

“I want you, okay?” I shove at him. “Is that what you want to hear? I still want you more than anything!”

“Luci,” his eyes grow soft.

“No, but I hate you! I hate what you did to me!” I wipe my eyes again. “You lied! You went years without speaking to me! You don’t know what it’s like! When you’re trying to be with someone else, but the whole time…” my voice croaks. “The whole time I would just wish it were you instead.”

“Lu-”

“You’ve been right all along, okay?” I interrupt. “I’m trouble, and I need you to stay far away from me.”

He lunges at me, his legs squatting so that we’re eye level as he pushes his chest against me and leans in, whispering. “I can’t do that.”

“You have to,” I plead. “I just want to be me again, but I’m still trying to find it, and I can’t do that with you around.”

With that he lets me go.

“How will you get back to school?” He shouts.

“Don’t worry,” I swallow. “I’ll figure it out.”

Chapter 6

-Josh-

Fuck!
I kick a nearby trashcan, watching the taillights as Luci drives away. I run my fingers through my hair, pulling a little too hard as I make my way back inside. There’s no way I’m going back to the party now.

“Did I-” Deb’s sitting in a chair in the corner of the lobby, her voice low and apologetic. I shake my head no, stopping her, as I undo my bowtie and head for the stairs.

“I’m sorry,” she whispers, and I brush her off with a wave of my hand, taking the first few steps.

“Joshua!” I hear my mother’s piercing voice. “Is it true? Oh, Joshua is it true?”

“Is what, Mom?” Deb stands.

“Deborah,” she yells at her. “This is your party! You need to be out there with Matthew socializing!”

“Not tonight, Mother,” I continue up another step.

“Holly just told me the most horrendous thing!” She runs to the bottom step. “Tell me that…
girl
you brought here wasn’t your student?”

“No, Mom,” Deb interjects. “She was mine.”

“Oh thank goodness,” she places her hand over her heart as her other hand grabs Deb. “You’ve done a lot of stupid things, but I couldn’t possibly believe you would do something like-”

“Like what,
Mother
?” I close my eyes, descending a couple of stairs, my anger on the brink of exploding. “Like sleep with her?” I face both of them, throwing my hands up, “I did.”

I watch their jaws drops.

“It’s true. Are you happy?” I face Deb. “That entire year.”

I turn back towards my mother, taking in her horrified expression. “And before you go running off to Holly. She’s scum, okay? She’s a fucking liar, and you know what? I’m no better, because I’m a liar too. Does that make you happy? To know we’re
perfect
for each other because we’re both fucking liars? For goodness sake, she claimed
a
child
was mine when it wasn’t! How do you even welcome her here?”

“Did you get
that girl
pregnant? Mom demands. “Is that why you’re still talking to her?”

Leave it to my mother to not even give a damn.

I laugh coldly.

“That girl,” I spit. “Has a name. Luci. And she was here tonight because I asked her. I like her, okay? I actually like her,” I stare daggers at Deb. “And believe it or not, I’m trying to desperately make up for fucking up big time with her, so thanks for making her feel so welcome. Both of you.”

I don’t give them time to respond before I finish climbing the stairs. I’m too buzzed to drive home, and I’m already counting down the hours until I sober up enough to get behind the wheel.

I nearly punch the wall as soon as I get to my room, and once I register the absurd and stately décor that is the life I left behind, I find myself not wanting to be here at all. Fuck waiting, I grab my clothes and have the valet call me a cab.

Monday after school I moronically drive by Luci’s house, catching Gracie jogging down the street.

“Hey!” I roll down the window.

She waves as she crosses the road. “Luci went back to school,” she offers, shading her eyes from the sun.

“I figured,” I sigh. “Hey, I go running in shorts in the winter too.”

“Weirdo,” Gracie laughs. “So what happened, you guys get into some sort of fight?”

“Yeah, something like that,” I exhale loudly. “I’m a fuck up, you know how it is - and this is not your teacher saying that.”

She laughs. “She’ll come around.”

“I’m not so sure,” I shake my head, gripping onto the steering wheel out of frustration.

“Yeah, your lesson could’ve used some help today. It sort of sucked.”

“Gracie!”

“What?” She shrugs. “You said you’re not my teacher right now.”

She starts tapping her foot against my car, waiting for me to say something. “Hey, so,” I exclaim, pushing aside my hesitation. “Do you think if Luci and I ever dated your parents would be upset?”

“Well,” she pauses. “I don’t think they’d be thrilled with the age difference, or the fact that you met when she was your student, you know?”

I nod. “That seems to be the consensus,” I mummer.

“But,” She cheers up. “If anyone saw you together,” she sighs. “They’d see how wonderful you both are. That you’re meant to be.”

“What, did you get into her books or something?” I joke. “That’s awfully fantastical thinking for you.”

“Well,” she shrugs. “I believe in you guys. I wouldn’t have helped you otherwise.”

“I know, I know,” I roll my eyes, catching a car coming up the street from behind. “I’m forever indebted to you.”

“You are,” she laughs.

“By the way, your dad-”

“I know,” she sighs, rolling her eyes exactly the way Luci does. “I don’t want to talk about it, or think about it, but I will if I need to.”

“Okay.” I figured as much, but wanted to offer anyway. She is Luci’s sister after all.

“See ya tomorrow, teach!” She bangs on the hood of my car before crossing the street and continuing her run.

I head home, taking the stairs up to my apartment two at a time, shaking my head over the fact that I’m
still
looking to Gracie for advice about Luci. I really do owe her my life.

I fumble for my house key, when behold, there’s my own sister, leaning up against the door.

“Really, Deb,” I move around her. “I’m not in the mood.”

“She gave me a card,” Deb follows me inside anyway, plopping herself on my couch.

“Yeah, she didn’t want to come empty handed.” I open the fridge to see what I have to eat. “She said it was the right thing to do or something.” I find leftover pizza and take a bite without heating it up, trying to ignore Deb’s disgusted face. “You’re free to leave.”

“I like her,” Deb states. “She’s really smart-”

“If you couldn’t tell last night,” I interrupt. “I’m not really looking for your approval.”

“I just don’t want this to come back and bite you in the ass,” she sighs. “You can still end up losing your job, especially if she’s going to be student teaching!”

“There are other jobs out there,” I shrug.

“You’re
really
that into her that you’d risk-”

“Yes,” I stop her.

“Wait, do you-” She pauses, and I roll my eyes.

“Yes, I love her.”

She nods, trying hard not to offer more of her opinion. “Well,” she exhales. “I’m sorry I gave you a hard time.”

“When you see her at school, at least be nice, okay?”

“Of course I will!” She insists. “I like her. I just don’t understand the situation, and I question
both
your judgment.”

She watches me, frowning, as I take another bite of my cold food.

“Do you want to come over and I can actually make you dinner? Real food, that is?”

“No, I’m good, thanks,” I grossly chew my pizza just to annoy her.

“So what did you do to upset her? You said things aren’t going well?”

“Do you really want to know?” I raise my eyebrows. “It’s not going to make you happy.”

“Yeah,” she offers. “Obviously I love and support you, and yes, I want to know, so tell me the whole story.” She pats the cushion, as if I should come over, but I stay safely behind the kitchen island.

“Well,” I hesitate. “You know how I met her,” I sigh. “It was like from the minute I saw her,” I shake my head, pausing. “I know right from wrong, you know I know that.” I look over and she nods. “You don’t even know how hard it was to stay away from her. She was so easy to fall in love with, and so hard to forget, especially these past couple of years. It’s been awful.”

“Well,” she whispers. “I guess that does explain a lot.”

I sense she’s still wary, but just wait until I get to the part where I really fuck up. It’s about time I told someone else about what happened, and I finally do.

“So that’s it.” I cough when she doesn’t respond.

A few seconds pass, and there’s still nothing from her side of the room.

“Um, Deb?”

I’m fully certain I’ve stunned her with my story. She’s staring me down, and I think she may
actually
murder me.

“You’re an ass, you know that, right?” She snaps.

I throw my hands into the air and stand. “Just before you hated her!” I exclaim, unable to keep up.

“I never hated her!” She argues. “But now I emphasize with her. Not to mention, I
really
hate Holly, and I even sort of hate you a little. How could you?”

“I was trying to do the right thing! She’s not supposed to fall in love with her teacher and live happily ever after,” I confide. “You heard the saying, love is to set them free.”

“It’s real life, you idiot, not some fictional book or saying!” Deb shoves at me. “And, p.s., you should’ve ‘set her free’ before you let things get serious!”

She’s shouting, actually shouting, to the point where the lady from the bakery downstairs starts to bang.

“Then you practically ditched her to go back to someone you didn’t even want, and let’s be honest here, I virtually had to kick you out of my house and force you to go to live with Holly! Why didn’t you say something?”

“I-I-”

“You weren’t thinking, that’s what!” She yells, and I sit back down. “You know, all my friends have always talked about what an arrogant jerk you are, and now I finally believe them!”

“That’s not fair!” I jump up again.

“You lead her on and then broke her heart!”

“I know that!” I yell. “And I’m trying to fix it!” I sigh heavily, calming down. “I was wrong. Love is not setting them free, because I've tried that. Love is never letting go. Love is not being able to live without. Love is a fight, because I can't live without her, and I'm willing to try anything in order to get her back!”

“I’m sorry,” she sighs, “but I fear you’re going to have to let it go.”

I pull at my hair. “You don’t know her. Us.” I shake my head. “Luci and I are meant to be together. It’s a pull, unlike anything I’ve ever known before.”

“Well, whatever you want to believe,” she huffs. “But maybe you finally learned your lesson, and in your next relationship, maybe you won’t fuck up so much.”

I look up when I hear my sister drop the F-bomb, because she never curses. Ever.

“There’s not going to be another relationship. Luci is it for me.”

“So she’s
the one
?” Deb looks doubtful.

“It’s more than that,” I tell her, trying to make her understand. “She’s not the one, she’s
the only one
.”

“Not for anything, but maybe you should’ve thought of that before you asked Lisa out on a date and let Luci find out about it,” she laughs. “Because that really screams I’m sorry.”

“I get it,” my voice drones. “I fucked up.”

Multiple
times,” she corrects.

“So now what? Should I text her? Call her?”

I can’t believe I’m now asking Deb for advice, but I’m pretty desperate.

“She asked you to leave her alone,” she shakes her head.

“Yeah, so?”

“So?” She retorts angrily. “Listen to her! For once just listen to her!”

“You’re not being very helpful.” I can’t hide the bitterness in my voice.

“I’m sorry you’re desperately pining, and I’m truly sorry for the way I acted this past weekend, but if you’re asking for my advice, which it sounds like you are,” she jumps before I have the chance to retort. “Leave her alone. Let her come to you. If you’re destined, or whatever illogical term you’re using is true, then it will happen.”

“Look,” I exhale, grabbing the top of my nose. “I appreciate you coming over here, but I have papers to grade.”

“Fine,” she stands. “But some more advice?” She looks up and I nod, begrudgingly.

“Tone down you sparkling blue eyes with others until things with Luci either work out or don’t.” She bats her eyes, which are the same color as mine.

“My
sparkling blue eyes
, I repeat her words, rolling my eyes, “don’t want to look at anyone else but Luci, so that won’t be a problem.”

Two days later, I get a text from Luci.

I’m sorry
, it reads.
Please just give me time.
