He sat up and I swear his smile could brighten the earth

 

if the damn sun were to ever lose power. “It’s fine, really.

 

Don’t worry about it.”

 

I watched him carefully as he stood, revealing his

 

bottom-half completely covered by the lounge pants he

 

was wearing. My lips frowned at the sight of the pants. I

 

couldn’t help but feel hopeful in seeing his perfectly

 

sculpted form in a pair of boxers.
He casually bit his lip and I waited for him to ask me

 

what was wrong. “Does my intruder by any chance have

 

a name?”

 

“It’s Emilia. Technically, you are the intruder. This is my

 

parents’ place.” I informed him, folding my arms over

 

my chest.

 

It was apparently now his turn to stare at me in shock.

 

His eyes skimmed my body from head to toe. If I had

 

been self-conscious, I would be begging for a rock to

 

hide under as he undressed me with his pupils.

 

“Wow. You are Collin’s daughter?” He finally spoke.

 

I nodded. “That’s what the test results say in my family’s

 

photo album.”

 

A line between his eyebrows formed as he gazed at me in

 

confusion. “Seriously?”
“We’re the Utley’s…we never joke around about

 

paternity tests.” I smiled a little, making my way over to

 

my boxes in the corner of the room. “I will just get my

 

stuff out of here and be on my way.”

 

The room fell silent and I felt him standing closer to me.

 

My heart started to thump wildly against my rib cage as

 

his musky scent hit my nostrils.

 

“Allow me to help you with those.” He scooped up my

 

boxes and the muscles flexing in his arms made me want

 

to burst at the seams.

 

I had no idea what was going on, but I felt extremely

 

attracted to this stranger. He was rough around the

 

edges and soft on the eyes. My libido sparked at the

 

mere thought of being in between those sheets with him.

 

“Um…thank you.” Shaking my head, attempting to rattle

 

the sexual thoughts.
He carried my belongings out into the living room area.

 

“Since I’m playing the gentleman card here. Will you let

 

me cook you dinner tonight?”

 

“Sure. Sounds great.” My lips blurted before my brain

 

could fully process his question.

 

He could’ve asked me for sex for all I knew. I would’ve

 

still said yes just so I could be in the presence of this

 

man for a while longer. Thankfully though it was only

 

dinner. Jack won’t be too thrilled, but honestly, what

 

bad can come of having dinner?

 

I would simply tell Jackson I was having dinner with my

 

parents for safe measures.

Drake…the ridiculously attractive man who offered to

 

cook me dinner…was such an awesome guy. We chatted
while he cooked us without a doubt the best meal I’ve

 

ever had.

 

His mom taught him how to cook for a lady. She passed

 

away a few years ago and he’s still coping with the loss.

 

He knew how much she loved him, but felt like he

 

disappointed her by being unable to provide her

 

grandchildren seeing as how he never felt the need to

 

settle down with a woman.

 

He’s a playboy! Now my sexual attraction to him made
perfect sense!

 

He also confessed that if he had a beautiful woman like

 

me in his life, he would never want to let me out of his

 

arms. I didn’t think much of it since he was on his third

 

glass of wine.

 

In a world of complete normalcy and decency, we would

 

have parted ways after dinner. He would play another

 

gentleman card and escorted me to my car…opening my
door for me, possibly steal a soft kiss on the cheek...a

 

perfect departure from an amazing night.

 

“I didn’t hurt you, did I?” His husky voice asked,

 

wrapping his massive arms around my naked frame and

 

holding me tight.

 

Yep…in a perfect world, I would not have slept with this

 

sexy man who had been a stranger only a few hours ago.

 

Let’s face it, I am who I am and my family has no idea

 

what a normal life is!

 

My fingertips trailed up and down his arm. “No, you

 

didn’t hurt me.” Snuggling into his toasty-warm chest

 

and breathing in his familiar scent.

 

I smiled a little at the thought of how content and

 

relaxed I felt buried in his arms. His masculine arms

 

protected me from the outside world. Being here with

 

him felt right.
