That

s
when she reached for the back of his shirt and started pulling.

Blake,

Maya cried.

Blake
…”

Blake kissed her breast and then
pulled away. He looked at her.

What

s wrong, sweetheart?

I
need you.

I

m right here.

No,
Blake
…”
Maya slid a hand
down his body and cupped between his legs.

I
need you

right now

inside me
…”

*

Maya was afraid to blink because
she knew she

d wake up from
this impossible dream. But she had to blink, and when she did, nothing
happened. It was the same scene. Blake

s
hands and mouth all over her chest, her hands clawing at his shirt, demanding
his shirt off. When Blake finally had his damn shirt off, Maya let out a
whimpering gasp. His chest was more defined than she ever remembered. She
reminded herself that she had seen Blake without a shirt on
how many times?
Hundreds. Most Gone by Autumn shows ended with Blake wearing no shirt, covered
in sweat. He would usually throw his shirt out to the crowd and crazy fans
would fight each other for a sweaty, ripped up shirt from the drummer of Gone
by Autumn.

Right now, Blake was all hers. His
shirt on the floor. Her hands touching his chest, running down to the muscular
ripples of his stomach muscles. Her body pulsed and ached. She reminded herself
she had already came twice, in the same night, a personal record, which was
probably sad and pathetic. But since Blake was the one taking care of
everything
sad and pathetic
, it was well worth it.

Her hands were eager as she kept
going, grabbing at the top of Blake

s
jeans. She had fantasized about doing this for a long time. Her fingers opened
his jeans, her hand sliding down inside them (just like she had done such a
long time ago) and felt the impressive bulge he had to offer.

Blake inched to the side of the bed
and Maya chased him down. Her other hand gripped the top of his boxers and
forced them down. Everything about his body was gorgeous. Cut lines aimed right
down to his thickness. His cock finally popped free and Maya was quick to
stroke him. Root to tip, measuring him up as though she had never touched him
like this before.

But it was so different now. Maya
wasn

t sure how. It was
still Blake. He was just older, richer, a true rockstar. And everything seemed
bigger.

Damn,

Blake groaned as he stood
there, jeans and boxers down to his knees.

Maya couldn

t take her hands off him. Right hand tight around
his shaft, her hand feeling insanely small to his thickness. Her left hand
touched his side, her thumb flirting with his stomach.

Finally, Maya inched back on the
bed and pulled, grinning as she did so, desperate to feel Blake inside her.

Blake moved back on the bed and
hovered right over Maya. That moment left Maya so loved and protected, she felt
she could cry. She

d been
waiting for this moment longer than any person ever should. Years of holding
back, waiting, and leaving memories becoming fantasies.

Blake touched her face and then
kissed her. Their lips flirted for way too long, each second passing leaving
Maya

s heart racing faster
and faster.

When Maya felt his cock touch her,
she groaned and thrust up. She was so ready for him. Blake applied more
pressure, slowly moving into Maya

s
sex. Inch by inch, Maya gasped as she quickly became so full, she started to
lose her breath. She crunched forward, kissing Blake

s chest, groaning as he thrust forward, fully
entering her.

Maya hurried and kissed up Blake

s neck, seeking his mouth. She
kissed him like they would never have this moment again. Sadly, that was
something of a truth because Maya had lived this once before.

As they kissed, Blake thrust in and
out of her. She clung to him, a hand to his hair, a hand at his back,
scratching at him. She kissed hard, fast, trying to overpower Blake

s tongue and take control of the
kiss.

But it was impossible to overpower
Blake. Then again, Maya loved submitting to him. She loved the feeling of his
cock thickening more and more with each through thrust. Their bodies colliding
together in hot passion, Blake growling in between kisses. When he broke the
kiss for good, he cupped a hand over Maya

s
breast and stared down at her. Their eyes locked and the fire and connection
was so relevant it made Maya lose her breath. That and the fact she was ready
to let go again.

Three fucking times in one night

And when it happened, it was as
wild as the first time. A deep heat rushed from within her belly and core. She
dug her heels into the bed and lifted, unable to control what her body was
quickly becoming addicted to. She felt herself tightening and pulling at Blake
as he continued to thrust at her. He let out a long hiss and looked ready to
let go himself, which Maya was desperately ready to feel again.

Blake,
yes,

she groaned and then
bit her bottom lip.

The pressure was more intense than
she ever remembered. Blake filled her like no man had ever done and could
possibly ever do. Because this was beyond having great sex. He filled her body,
her heart, her memories.

Blake started to speed up again,
those powerful drummer legs working harder than ever. Maya had both hands to
the thick muscles of his back, digging and hanging on.

When Blake reached his own climax,
he thrust hard, deep, and remained there, coming inside her. Each forceful
thrust offered more of his release, leaving Maya crying out with the amazing
feeling of them being as close as two people could possibly be.

Blake kissed her neck as he started
to relax. He trailed down and around to the other side. Maya curled both hands
into his hair and held him there. Blake inched down to her breast, breathing as
heavy as she was.

And they remained there, wrapped up
in each other

s wants,
needs, love, letting the past finally slip away for good because of what the
present offered and what the future could possibly hold.

Blake knew something was wrong
with Maya the night she bolted from the loft.
He tried talking to her about
it a few times but got nothing from it. The only possible thing he could think
of was that her grandfather (good

ol
Ted) had been warned by his doctors to slow down and start taking care of
himself. He was in his sixties but lived like he was twenty. He drank, smoked,
and played hard. But he was a big, tough guy and probably had at least another
thirty years to go before calling it quits on life. Even then, any kind of
medical news could rattle someone.

But Blake knew it wasn

t that.

It was more.

It was deeper.

They hadn

t been together in

well, it was just a few days, but for them and their track record, days equaled
months. And there was a bit of a distance that just didn

t feel right. At all.

Blake wondered if he did something
wrong, but that couldn

t
have been it.

Christ, not with what he had been
planning for a little while now. Something spontaneous and crazy; something
only a rockstar would probably do.

Dropping his bag to the floor,
Blake unzipped the inside pocket and looked at the diamond ring. He honestly
had no idea what the hell he was going to say or actually propose to Maya. Marriage?
Eh. A promise to love her? Hell yeah. A promise to stay faithful on the road?
Fuck yes. There was no one like Maya and there never would be. So he wanted her
to wear a ring. A ring that he bought by selling off an old drumset, a guitar,
and a sweet ride cymbal that he loved to play. Sure, it wasn

t some wild and expensive
diamond, that would come in a few years when the band hit the big time.

Hey,
brother, you ready to roll?

Blake zipped up the pocket and his
bag. He stood and threw the bag over his shoulder and turned to face Ryan.

What

s wrong?

Ryan asked.

Nothing,

Blake said.

I

m
ready.

We
have a wild road ahead of us.

Blake grinned.

Yeah, we do.

Come
on, let

s pack up the van
and then celebrate. We have to be on the road by nine tomorrow morning.

Still
can

t believe all this.

Believe
it,

Ryan said.

Someday we

ll look back at this and just
laugh. Laugh our fucking asses off because of what we did together.

Outside, Tanner, Gabe, and Asher
were packing up the van. There wasn

t
much room for more than the instruments. Blake was pretty sure if they got pulled
over for whatever reason the police wouldn

t
want them driving with five guys crammed in between bags and music equipment.

Blake tossed his bag into the van
and kept it in sight. The second he saw Maya he was just going to go for the
throat on this. Find out what was eating her up and then give her the ring. Put
it in her hand and say something romantic. Drop to one knee? Probably not, but
fuck, if the moment struck the right way, who knew what could happen?

I

m ready for a goddamn drink,

Asher announced.

I
say we go to The Jack,

Tanner said.

One last
night to celebrate with the crazy locals that love us.

Maybe
play a set,

Gabe said with
his eyes lit up.

Or
find some company for the night,

Ryan said.

You
guys go ahead,

Blake said.

I

m going to double check some things.

Sure,

Ryan said with a grin and a
nod.

Blake looked back and saw Maya
getting out of her car. His mouth instantly went dry. His heart pounded in his
chest.

Shit.

Let

s roll,

Asher said.

Give
these two a minute.

That

s all it takes?

Gabe asked.

Damn
…”

Get
out of here,

Blake said.

All of you. Go. Save me a seat
and order me a beer.

The band left as Maya approached.

Looks
packed,

she said with a
forced smile.

Yeah.
I think we

re all set.
Should be interesting.

Blake sat down on the small space the back of the van had to offer.

You

re coming tomorrow night, right?

Wouldn

t miss it for anything,

Maya said.

Awesome.

He put a hand out and Maya took
it. He pulled her in.

I
can

t believe this is
finally happening. Going out on an actual tour. We have a banner. We have some
shirts and stickers and shit. It

s
just
…”

That was the moment.

Blake realized it as Maya stared at
him.

But his damn bag was in the middle
of the van. There was no way he could get to it right now.

Fuck.

Maya,
I need to say something
…”

So
do I,

Maya said.

I have to go first. Please
…”

Yeah,
of course. Talk to me, sweetheart.

Maya took her hand away and stepped
back a few steps. She started to play with her hands and licked her bottom lip.
Blake knew what that meant. She was either scared, worried, or both.

What
is it?

Blake asked.

This,

Maya said.

Everything. Us. The band. This
tour. I mean, you realize this is the first of a lot of tours for you, right?

Yeah

I mean, that

s the plan. Why?

Where
do you think I

ll be

when it all happens?

With
the band. With me. With all of this. You want this, right?

Of
course I do,

Maya said.

I

I love you, Blake. I love the other guys, too. Not like you though. I

m terrified right now. If I can
just say it.

Okay.
You just said it. You

re
terrified. Why?

Because
of what

s going to happen
out there.

Like
what? You think I

m going
to sleep around? Maya
…”

No,
listen to me,

Maya
snapped.

That

s exactly what rockstars do.
That

s what they

re supposed to do.

That

s not what I

m going to do.

Blake,
just stop. We

re not even

I mean, what are we? Right? We

re not dating. We

re not together. We just

enjoy each other.

That

s what you think it is?

I

m just telling the truth,

Maya said.

You know I

m right. This is what we

re doing right now. We

re fooling around. We love each
other, but in a different way. I don

t
want that ruined. I don

t
want to lose you. The guys. The road. The band. Everything. And that

s what

s going to happen.

Blake watched Maya take another
step back. He moved from the van toward her.

Are
you kidding me?

Think
of the band, Blake. And if things between us ever got

too serious. Or got really bad. It would hurt the
band. You guys need to focus on yourselves. The band. The road. The fans. All
of it. No matter what. Not me. I can

t
be involved like this. Not anymore.

So
if we

re not together, then
why are we having this conversation?

The question left Maya silent. Then
her eyes started to fill with tears.

I
don

t know. I don

t want you to go out on the road
and not enjoy it all. I don

t
want you to constantly be looking over your shoulder and worrying. And

time is going to add up, Blake.

What
the hell does that mean?

You
know what that means. You have too much to drink one night. Someone good
looking is waiting for you. You lose yourself
…”

You
think that

s what I

m going to do?

No,
I don

t know. I

m not going to chance it. You
have so much to do, Blake. You don

t
need me weighing you down.

Weighing
me down? You lift me up, Maya
…”

Maya shook her head and put a hand
out.

Please. You want me
to be happy, right?

That

s all I care about.

Then
this makes me happy. What I

m
saying. I know it hurts now, but it

s

it

s right. We can

t
let time rip us apart. But we can let it test us. Bring us back together.

Blake then stood frozen. He debated
on what to do with the ring. He could give it to her as planned. Or maybe he
could just throw it at her. Like she had just thrown a dagger through his
heart.

Or just let her go. Do what she
said to do. To just stand there and accept it.

And that

s exactly what Blake did. He wanted Maya happy. He
told himself it would work. Someday.

Maya wiped the corners of her eyes
and hugged Blake. He was numb and then he was alone. He watched Maya drive away
and turned around to look at the damn van. Packed with the dreams of five
friends on an impossible quest to become rich and famous.

Blake never thought it would hurt
this much.

A few hours later, at The Jack, he
came off the stage from an impromptu goodbye set for the local fans. Half a
bottle of whiskey later, he was feeling a little in pain. He set his eyes at
the opposite end of the bar at some dark eyed vixen staring at him, playing
with her straw to her red lips.

Blake nodded.

He

d find a way to kill the pain

Blake sat up in the bed and watched
Maya sleep. All he could think about was that damn ring. He still had it. It
was tucked away in a drawer in his apartment. Almost like a deep, dark hidden
secret. Nobody compared to Maya and nobody ever would. Not the years, the road,
the fans, the women, none of it was as good as Maya.

He couldn

t believe it was morning already. The night had
come and gone so fast, but it was so damn good. As hot as it had been before but
somehow better. Like the allure of waiting had made it all feel so much
different.

Even then, Blake had no idea what
it all meant. He couldn

t
stop thinking about that last time they were technically a couple. That day
with the van packed to the brim. The look on Maya

s
face, making such a poignant yet painful decision. And then Blake running off
to a bottle of whiskey and a bed to share.

Typical rockstar

Like he purposely played the card
that Maya had dealt for him. And he played it for a long time, never able to
finally grasp at Maya

s
precious heart.

Climbing out of bed, Blake snuck
from the room without waking Maya. He walked to the kitchen and stood at the
window for a minute to admire the peaceful scenery. A far cry from the road,
and arenas, and tens of thousands of fans. It was a strange feeling though,
almost like he could still hear the fans cheering. Like they were haunting him
or something. But soon enough he

d
back on tour.
