He remained silent as he unbuttoned the pants, unzipped the zipper, and pulled it (and her panties) down her legs.

“Alex!”

He released her wrists long enough to grab the hem of her shirt and lifted it over her head.

“Al–”

His mouth slammed down to hers, shutting her up as his hand slid down her body and between her legs, cupping her.

She gasped, arching her body up, pressing hers to his.

Then she moaned.

And he did a very thorough job of getting her ready for bed because she had fallen asleep with a smile on her lips.  At the same time she wondered why she tried to leave in the first place.

*******

Sam’s eyes fluttered open as the sun shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sunrays bright and beaming, peaking through the beige curtains.  She rolled to her side and stared at hers and Alex’s clothes scattered all over the floor.  For some strange reason to her, she liked it.

A smile crept up her face as her expression softened.

Maybe this relationship wasn’t so bad after all.

Sam rolled to her back turned to see an empty bed.  Alex wasn’t there.  She got up on her elbows and took a really good look around the condo that she hadn’t been able to do before.

A forty-two inch flat screen TV hung on the wall opposite of the bed with a cubby hole for his DVD player (or was it blu-ray).  On the perpendicular wall, there was a long, slim table with a wide bamboo bowl sitting on top where Sam could see a set of keys, a wallet, and a cell phone in it.  The ceiling was at least twenty feet high with crown molding wrapped around the room.  The floor-to-ceiling windows took up one entire side of the wall and it had a great overview of Meyers Park.

Sam was sitting in a California king-sized bed that sat in the middle of the room, taking up nearly half of the floor space.  It was a four short-post wooden bed where the thick legs were sturdy and covering the bed were black silk bed sheets that felt so wonderful in the summer that anyone could dive in and fall asleep immediately to the touch of its soft coolness.

Other than that, his condo was pretty bare.

One thing for sure and that was Alex was nowhere in sight.

She glanced at the clock on the nightstand to see it was just after seven.  It was still early and she usually stayed in bed until after eight or nine, but she was fully rested.  But because it was daylight savings, the sun made its appearance an hour earlier than usual.

The sheets were up to her waist as she pulled them back, threw her leg off the side of the bed, got up and grabbed Alex’s shirt off the floor, pulling it on as she padded her way out the bedroom door.

The second she opened the door, the smell of coffee, bacon, eggs, and toast filled the air, her stomach grumbled as she remembered having any dinner the night before.

When she made it to the mouth of the hallway, she stopped dead.

It was because there in the kitchen wearing nothing but an apron was Alex cooking breakfast… naked.

Sam took that opportunity to admire the great view in front of her, taking in his finely sculpted backside, from his nice broad shoulders, down to his very, firm ass.

Nothing like a fine piece of ass in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

Sam felt herself growing wet between her legs and a tingle that began to ache.

Sam bit her lip, her eyes slowly roamed up and down his back, and trying so hard to prevent herself from drooling on the hardwood floors.  She must’ve made a noise she didn’t realize she made because Alex jerked his body halfway around with the pan still in his hand and his sexy grin crept up.

“You ruined my surprise, even though you don’t deserve it after what you pulled last night.”

Sam blinked.

Boy.  He even had the sexy morning-rumbled voice that she failed to notice before.

But, last night?  What did she do again last night?  Oh, now she remembered, she tried sneaking out… again.

When Sam found her voice, she croaked, “What?” she cleared her throat.

He smiled bigger.  “I was making you breakfast in bed.  Coffee’s already made.  You hungry?  Hungover?  Headache?”  He paused as his eyes looked her once over, making her shift her legs.  “You look good in my shirt, by the way.  Really good.”

Good lord.

“No hangover or headache.”  But, she was hungry all right.  In fact, she was starving.  But it wasn’t for food.

Sam bit her bottom lip and slowly, oh so slowly, looked down his hard, sexy body.

Suddenly, she noticed that the front of the apron slowly rising.

He was aroused.

Man, he was a sex God.  She couldn’t believe he was aroused again after their bed tousling a few hours ago.

It was amazing that it didn’t take much for Alex to get turned on by.  There was she with no make-up, hair messed-up, and tee shirt wrinkled.  Then again, Alex always did like the
au natural
look, her hair was sex-hair from last night, she was wearing his tee and she was naked underneath.

Hell, she would be turned on by that too.

And to top it off, she smelled.  It was their sex scent mixed together and it was musky.

And it turned her on even more.

She knew she should run for it, but her feet had a late start.  She wasn’t going to make it.  She was about two point five seconds away from moving out of her spot and jumping him in the kitchen with the bacon grease splattered everywhere.

As if reading her mind, Alex set the pan down on the stove, turned it off and prowled towards her, his eyes locked on hers.

She unfroze from her spot and began moving backwards.  She turned around to run back into the bedroom but never made it two steps before she was hauled up and over his shoulders.

“Alex!  Put me down!  I’m hungry,” she semi-lied, only because she knew she had loads of work to do at the office (at least that’s what she was telling herself).

“I’m hungry too so I think I’ll have my breakfast now.”

She went into full spasm.  Her legs shifted.

Knowing what she was thinking, he chuckled.

Gah!

He threw her on the bed and proceeded into having his breakfast.

She didn’t have hers until later, much later.

Brunch, to be exact.

And she was late going into work.

*******

              “Do you cook?”

Sam jerked her head after having checked her emails on her phone and glanced to her side where Alex was driving towards the office.  His eyes were facing the windshield, but when he finished his question, he threw his eyes to hers.

“What?” she asked.

“Do you cook?” he repeated as he turned out of the parking garage.

“Is that a trick question where if I say no, you’ll break up with me, or trick me into signing up for cooking classes and then I end up burning your kitchen down?”

Alex threw his head back and barked out laughing.

She took in the sight and his deep, manly laugh.  She noticed that he had been laughing more often now than he did in the past and she needed to remember to get him to do that more often.

It was great.

“What’s funny?”

When he calmed his laughter, through his huge smile, he replied, “You think I’d make you take cooking classes?”

“Well, I don’t know!  You’re the one asking a bizarre question like that after we just had sex.  What was I to think?”

“I asked because I’ve never seen you cook.  I was curious.  If you didn’t, then I would and you wouldn’t have to worry about that.  But if I cook, you clean.  Same goes the other way around.  I don’t expect you to do it all, like how you ladies like to refer to, the stone-age days.”

Wow.  He was a really modern-day man who believed in equal responsibilities.  He was really serious about this domestic stuff and she didn’t know if it was a good thing or bad thing for her.

Good to know, especially for her, since she would try to “split” the chores as much as she could (by giving him more of them).  She hated doing a lot of the things around her place and she thought maybe she could con her way out of it or sexually coerce him into doing it for her.

Sam had never been much of a domestic anything because she hated doing chores.

Alex parked the car along the curb in front of their office building.  They unfolded out of the car and made their way to the front door when Sam heard someone calling her name.

“Sum, Sum!”

Sam turned around to see Hon run wildly down the sidewalk struggling with a large duffle bag on her shoulders.  The bag that was larger than her body kept falling off her small shoulders, making her progress slower than usual.  But that duffle bag looked familiar.

Very familiar.

Sam’s eyes shot back to Hon’s face and asked, “Hon, what’s wrong?”

Hon stopped in front of Sam and toppled over, breathing heavily trying to catch her breath.

“Are you okay, Hon?”

Hon stood up and nodded but continued to gain control of her breathing.  Finally, she huffed and pointed, “I… I foun bag… in pawk.  Yoo look.”

Alex took the bag from her as Sam unzipped the bag.

Money.

Lots of money.

Sam lifted her head up to look at Alex.  His eyes shifted to hers.

“The money from the fundraiser?” Sam whispered.

“It’s possible.”  Alex turned to Hon and asked, “Can you show us where you found it?”

Hon nodded as she waved her hand for them to follow, “Yah, yah.  Come, come.”

Hon had led them to the west side of Meyers Park where the bushes were thicker and heavier, easy to conceal any activities that might have been going on.  It was the perfect spot for drug dealers, thieves, or any other criminals.  The bad thing about this spot was that it was next to the main street.  But still.  No one would notice anything unless they really paid attention.

Sam called Chuck and asked him to stop by the office because they needed to turn the bag in.  Initially, Sam had asked Hon to stay to tell Chuck what she had told them and where they found the bag but when she heard the word ‘police’, she rapidly shook her head and muttered ‘no’ repeated.

It was easy to say that Hon had some police issues.

Sam wondered what it could be about.

*******

“What are you doing?” Alex asked behind Sam as she walked through the office door and out into the streets.

Chuck had left not long ago after getting their statements about Hon’s discovery in the park.  He initially wanted to speak with Hon herself, but Sam had to explain to him that her English wasn’t great (which wasn’t a lie) and that she wasn’t available (which was a half lie since she had no idea if she would be or not).
