Chapter 2

Flynn was right, I should have rung Ivy to let her know that I was coming for a visit, but shit, I had wanted to surprise her. Instead, the surprise was on me. When I had arrived at the apartment, it had been to find it empty. Then it had taken nearly another hour before I located Flynn in the building’s gym, which was located in the basement. Where I then had to wait while he finished in the shower. When he had gone on to tell me, that Ivy was on a date with Cayden, I had been unable to hold back the explicit, which had freely left my mouth before I was able to recall it back.

I knew Cayden through Oscar. I was also a fan of Sour Mash, and knew what kind of men they were. It had taken bribes and promises to Flynn, before he would divulge Ivy’s whereabouts. The ride from Comfort Springs has left me tired, and then having spent the last three hours tracking Ivy, only to discover her dressed with half of her assets on show, which wasn’t doing my blood pressure any good.

When it comes to patients, I’m usually the calmest of Devil’s Comfort. Usually nothing fazes me. That is until Ivy Reynolds appears on the scene. As soon as she walks through a door, I have to hold myself back. A few of the brothers have been in contact with my fist, whenever they made a comment about my fiery goddess. It was time to rid myself of this obsession and I have given myself a few days in which to bring the temptress to heel.

“Cayden, Ivy.”

“Dec, what brings you to Vegas.”

“Flynn’s fight, I thought I’d come up and give my support to a brother.”

Although I’m speaking to Cayden, my eyes are on Ivy. An Ivy, who is looking hotter than her usual self. Her red hair was hanging loose and she had curled the ends. The dress was a no no. That is, unless she was wearing it for me. Casually I let my eyes, linger on the soft white skin of her breasts, and counted the freckles. Soon, I’ll be connecting those spots with my tongue. An image of Ivy spread out on my bed, begging for me, sends a jolt of desire straight to my cock. To hide my sudden discomfort, I pull out the chair from the table next to us, and place it besides Ivy, as I sit myself onto the seat.

“Dec, this is a private party.”

It’s no good, I have to give into temptation, and I gently swipe the loose tendril of hair, which is curled against her upper breast. Beneath hooded eyes, I watch Cayden, as he follows the motion of my fingers. Another shaft of desire thrusts through me. Yep, when Ivy’s mine, I’m going to put her on display, and everyone will be aware of who she belongs to. As my fingers stroke her upper breast, Ivy raises her hand and pushes my fingers away, while at the same time, she shuffles her chair away from me. Grateful for the loss of contact, I smile indulgently at Ivy.

“Cayden and I have shared before Ivy.”

A deep rumble vibrates in the back of my throat. I may enjoy having Ivy on display, but there was no way I was sharing her with anyone.

“Bully for you and Cayden. I don’t share and you weren’t invited Dec.”

“Ivy, there’s no need for hostilities. I always thought we were friends.”

“Go away Dec.”

“Sorry baby-girl that just isn’t going to happen.”

If I was going to stake ownership on this girl, I had to do it starting tonight. With an ease I am far from feeling, I returned my attention to Cayden. A Cayden, whose eyes were full of silent laughter as his gazed moved between Ivy and myself.

“How’s the tour going?”

“It’s a sellout. But hey, that’s not a surprise is it.”

From the corner of my eye, I continue to study Ivy, who has crossed her leg, causing the hem of her dress to rise daringly close to her panties. If I was to squint, I bet I’d see her underwear. My hands were itching to touch her pussy, to find out if the flesh there was as soft as the flesh of her breast is.

“Will you still be in town for Flynn’s fight?”

“No, we leave on the morning of the fight, and unfortunately we don’t have time to fit it in.”

Due to the lazy indulgence Cayden is offering me, I chew on my inner lip, and respond with my own lopsided smile. Ivy’s gaze didn't flicker between us. Several times, her mouth has opened, only to close again.

“Cayden?”

“Yes Ivy?”

“Let’s go.”

Oh, no you don’t lady. You’re not getting rid of me that easy.

“You don’t mind if I tag along do you Cayden? With Flynn’s training, he’s already called it a night, and it’s a bit on the early side for me.”

“I thought you were tired Dec after the bike ride?”

“Why would you think that Ivy. Twiggy and I had an easy ride up.”

“If you’re here with Twiggy, why don’t you go whoring with him?”

“Oh Ivy, for that comment you’ve just earned yourself a punishment.”

Ivy knows who I am, and what I like and I don’t have to hide it. Also the sooner Ivy accepted my lifestyle, the easier it will be for her.

“Dec, I’m neither your girlfriend nor a whore you’ve picked up for the night. So I haven’t earned any punishment. Besides, I’m not into the scene.”

If the blush, which graced Ivy’s face, or the way she was wrangling her hands, was an indication to go by, my baby-girl was a little riled. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was turned on, it the ridged points of her nipples pressing against the purple material of the dress was any kind of indication to go by.

“We’ll see Ivy.”

“Dec, Ivy’s with me tonight.”

Although Cayden was not a member of Devil’s Comfort, he was a good friend due to Linc being their personal tattoo artist. Again, my gaze drifts reluctantly to Cayden. His smile may be lazy, yet there is a steel strength behind his hooded eyes. A look I am more than willing to match. With another lazy look thrown in Ivy’s direction, I raise my glass off the table, which the waiter had discreetly placed.

Ma had said I needed to tread carefully, if I wanted to win my lady. That, however, is not the way I play. If I want something, I go for it. And if there was one thing I wanted, it was Ivy Reynolds.

“Sorry Cayden, I didn’t mean to step on any toes, but I’m sure you don’t mind if I tag along do you?”

I may have been asking, but I wasn’t going to take no for an answer. A message, which Cayden, appears to understand, as he gave a slight inclination of his head.

“We were just going to a nightclub.”

“Great, Ivy.”

Ivy was already rising from her chair, and Cayden had managed to be by her side by the time I was standing. To distract myself, I mentally added Cay’s behavior on to Ivy’s punishment sheet. Have to say it; baby-girl was going to be punished for Cayden’s behavior.

By the time, we arrived at the nightclub Cay had chosen, the rest of Sour Mash were already here, sealed off in a private area, surrounded by groupies. If this was any other night, and Ivy didn’t have me by the balls, I’d have taken up with one of them. However, I chose to flirt with a couple of the groupies as I watched Ivy and Cay dance.

Unhappy with how close Cay was holding Ivy, I dragged one of the groupies, Sara, I think her name is, on to the dance floor, and soon we are next to the other couple. In two moves, I have a disgruntled Ivy in my arms.

“Relax Ivy.”

“Dec, this isn’t funny.”

“Come on Ivy, it’s just a dance.”

“One dance, Dec, then I’m returning to Cay”

As I flashed my smile at the redhead, her posture began to relax, and Ivy let herself go. Unfortunately, the music playing wasn’t ideal for up close and personal. But for tonight, it was enough. I’d just had my first dance with Ivy. As soon as the dance is over, Ivy moved into Cay’s arms. Although I felt the disappointment at the loss, I still had my minor victory over the dance.

DCMC

As tired as I was when I first arrived in Las Vegas, it had soon dispersed, as I spent the rest of the night in the company of Sour Mash, and Ivy. Each time the opportunity arose that I was able to slip in a touch of Ivy, I took it. The sharper the daggers she threw in my direction, the more intense my play became. At one part of the night, I struck up a conversation with Cayden, effectively placing my body between them both. When Ivy mentioned leaving, I unashamedly tagged along. When the cab pulled up outside Flynn’s apartment, I waited for Ivy to climb out, while waiting for Cay to follow. When he didn’t, I let go of the deep breath I was holding, and climbed out of the cab.

“Damn it Dec, what now.”

“Sorry Ivy, did I forget to mention that I was crashing at Flynn’s.”

“No.”

“He invited me Ivy and it would have been rude to say no.”

While Ivy rode the lift in stony silence, I whistled softly. Although Cay, hadn’t vacated the cab, he had confirmed his date with Ivy for the following night.

“So you’re going to the concert?”

“Yes.”

While I studied Ivy as she stared at the steel doors, I sent a quick text to Oscar, and continued with my whistling. One night down, three to go.

“Dec”

The sound of my name leaving those cherry red lips has me turning my gaze to the redhead.

“It’ll not work.”

“What won’t work?”

“You and me.”

“Come on Ivy, you haven’t even given us a chance yet.”

Once Ivy had the door to the apartment opened, I followed her in and made for the kitchen, returning a couple of minutes later with a coffee each. Ivy was slouched on the sofa, her head thrown back with her eyes close.”

“Ivy?”

Slowly, Ivy raised her brown eyes up to me. Her vision must be blurred as I watched them fill with water.

“Dec I mean it. You and I just will not work.”

“Give it ago.”

“There’s nothing to give. After Flynn’s fight, you’re returning to Comfort Springs.”

“So why can’t you give me what you’re willing to give Cay. He’s only going to be here for a couple of days before he moves on to the next groupie.”

“What makes you think I haven’t made plans to join the tour? I said I wasn’t going back to Comfort Springs. I never made mention of staying in Las Vegas.”

My victory of earlier, was beginning to look hollow. Almost as if Ivy had given me the dance out of pity. Carefully, I placed the coffee cup I was holding, onto the table beside the sofa, and sat back on my heels. In the clear light of the apartment, it was clear to see the shadows under Ivy’s eyes, the weight loss displaying how fine her bones were. The life she was living now, didn’t suit my baby-girl.

“Ivy go to bed. We’ll talk in the morning.”

“Where are you sleeping Dec?”

Ivy was a carer, and we may be at odds, but she was still looking out for me.

“Until you invite me into your bed, I’m sleeping on the sofa.”

Chapter 3

“You know Dec; I don’t remember you being this bullheaded before.”

“What do you mean Ivy? I’m enjoying a well-deserved rest.”

Since turning up four nights ago, Dec has accompanied me on my dates with Cay. He turned up at the concert with Oscar, he’d then attend the after parties with Oscar, and he was never too far from me. If Cay and I, attempted to have some alone time, Dec would turn up destroying whatever may have come between Cay and myself. By the third night, Cay had given up on us, apologizing, before going off with a groupie. Thanks to Dec, my dry spell was still unbroken. If it were possible, I would say that my hating of Dec has now turned to loathing.

“Dec, nothing is going to happen between you and me. You may as well as go back to Comfort Springs.”

Eyes as pale as emeralds, study me as they follow me around the room. With his coffee mug raised to his bow lips, which were twitching at the corner, was not helping me. My equilibrium shot to pieces, and it’s been like this for days. When Dec had walked out of the bathroom, wearing only his low-slung jeans and a twinkle in his eyes. I knew then, my freedom was coming to an end. That soon, I would cave into the raw sexuality of the biker. Slowly over the last few days, Dec has been seducing me. Just because I knew I was going to give into temptation, didn’t mean I wasn’t going to go down without a fight. All I have to do is get through tonight, and Flynn’s fight, then he’ll be gone.

With my new boost of confidence, I pour my coffee and join Dec at the kitchen table, selecting some grapes from the fruit bowl; I begin to pop them one by one into my mouth, biting the grape in half. Dec’s gaze follows my hand as it raised and dropped back to the fruit bowl, his pale eyes, darkening while he licks his lips.

“There’s no more hiding Ivy. I want you. You want me. And we are both over the age of consent.”

“That doesn’t matter Dec. It’s Flynn’s fight tonight, and you go home tomorrow.”

The back of Dec’s chair begins to squeak as he leans against it, swinging the front two legs off the floor, while he balances on the rear legs.

“I made a mistake Ivy. And I only ever make it once.”

“And what was that mistake?”
