Tears
rolled
down
her
cheek.
Once
again,
she
had
ref

to
listen
to
her
intuition.
St

told
her

to
her
intuition.
Kerrigan…he’d

her
instincts
would protect
her,
if

he

D
rawing
a
shaky
breath,
s
he
tried
to
sit
up
next
to
Padd

Panic
swelled,
frothing,
as
her

refused

She

Paddy
picked
up
her
hand.

It

M

Kerrigan
will
find
us.
I
know
he will.”

“I

and
my

sobbed.
Closing
her

she
wallowed
in
the

got
from
her
friend’s touch.

“Meeka,

“Pad

He

and
then

What
did

Wet
tears
streaked
her
cheeks,
and
Paddy
wiped
them

Male
voices
interrupted
their
conversation.
Meeka
felt
Paddy

“So

think
y

pretend
to

Pad

instructed. Meeka
agreed.
She
was

She
closed

approached.

Paddy
gasped.

Thalius!” “So

he

Padd

and
her
short
nails dug
into Meeka’s
flesh.

Forcing
herself
to
ignore
the
pain,
s
he
listened
to
Padd
y
’s
angry
voice.
“You
evil
beast!
H

dare
y

do
this!”

Oily
and
thick,
the
laughter
spewing
forth
was
noxious,
spiteful.
“H

Perhaps
‘tis
best.
I

sharing!”

Cracking
her

open,
Meeka
stifled
a
shudder
at
the
disfigured
bag
of
bones
staring
at her.

the

of
his

Paddy
shrieked.
He

Jager
