He had pulled up outside his house on his driveway. He had just opened the door when Morgan Lee called. He looked at his watch; yep Morgan was impressive to say the least.

“Morgan, what have you got for me?” he asked, as he walked to his front door.

“Rebecca Keane, is now working for a company called ‘Natural Logistics’ based in ‘Bond Street W1’ I’m sending the file to you and other bits and bobs for your perusal Jason”.

”Thanks Morgan” Jason responded finishing the call, as he started to look over the files Morgan Lee had just sent him.

Chapter 21

‘The bitterest Pill (I ever had to swallow)’

Rebecca had been seeing ‘Hunky Harvey’ now for a couple of months when she had her first big overseas assignment. She was travelling to Australia with Mr. Nichol’s; they were leaving next week on the Monday morning.

Lucy was around at Rebecca’s apartment. She was delighted for Rebecca; things were really going good for her, since she had moved here and started with the company. Rebecca’s place was fantastic; it was a fabulously modern furnished serviced apartment.

“Luce me thinks we need a shopping trip I need stuff for travelling. Oh god have you any ideas? I need classic style that I can wear on my down time, have the suits covered as you know” she laughed “any idea’s, otherwise I’m nicking some of your stuff for my trip”.

“Well if you feel like that, we need to go to ‘Muse’ on the Kings Road, it’s a fab boutique they stock a good few of the things from the Lemiena range and they do the most amazing bags as well as they’re wraps that’s where I got my Pellimenina from”.

Rebecca didn’t hesitate with her answer

“We are SOoo going there, come on we can do breakfast when we’re out” as the two girls grabbed their bags and coats.

They had a great time in ‘Muse’ Rebecca and Lucy had been very naughty and spent a small fortune, before heading back to Rebecca’s.

Rebecca was quite organized with her luggage neatly laid out on the floor waiting to be filled. Lucy took her normal position of lying across the bed awaiting the fashion show that was yet to begin. “OMG Lucy I can’t believe you made me buy these. I love them” as she held up her new beloved Lemiena Signature, Orabella Matt Velvet Python Handbag. “And it will fit my notebook and all the other junk I carry”. She held it up in the air as if it was a chalice from the God’s,

“I’m so in love with my bag” she sat there stroking the exterior smooth scales of the Python “And it is the year of the snake, and bloody hell, I LOVE, love my wraps as well. I’ve spent way too much”.

Rebecca grabbed the cashmere black triangolo wrap, throwing it over either shoulder; she picked up the suede camel coloured Pellimenina placing it against her face,

”Ohh Luce, it’s gorgeous just feel it”

Rebecca held the beautiful garment out to Lucy as she humored her, feeling the scrumptious fabric in between her fingers.

“It’s beautiful, it’s such a luxury item, but because it’s classic style it will never date, it’s a perfect key piece in anyone’s wardrobe I’m a huge fan of their range as you know”.

While Lucy was talking, Rebecca had whipped off her jeans and had slipped into her new ‘Andre Sepe’ Mole skin trousers,

“Ohh I’m so loving these as she smoothed her hand over her bottom, caressing the soft velvety material. She turned to Lucy, showing her the trousers as she spun around slowly allowing Lucy to see the trousers over her form,

“Ohh Rebecca, they’re lovely” she cooed her hands gliding over Rebecca’s butt check, “I’m sorry I didn’t get a pair myself she said pulling a sad sulky face,

“And they’re beautiful on you, hmmm ‘Hunky Harvey’ is going to love touching your arse in these” she giggled.

Rebecca stood now in front of the mirror, her hands lightly on her hips as she modeled

“Jackson Harvey loves my arse either way, but yes the feel of these are amazing he’ll like these”. She laughed

“So Bec’s, have you ‘Done the deed with him yet?

Lucy asked as she picked up the brightly coloured Geisha scarf, one eye on Rebecca,

“No, no not yet, but it’s not for the want of him trying, I’ve nearly given in a few times, he just makes my legs turn to jelly, I can’t think straight when is mouth is on mine, He said he’s never wanted someone so much, and believe me when Jackson Harvey is whispering sweet nothing’s in your ear” they both howled with laughter,

“Jackson said he’s happy to wait, one night I came very close to giving in” Rebecca could feel herself blush as she spoke. “He was saying that he would gladly wait, because the prize will be that I will know I won when your eyes are rolling back in your head and you are screaming my name” they howled with laughter again

“Hold on Bec’s WON? What does he mean Won? Who does he think he is? Cheeky fecker” Lucy sniggered.

“I know right” Rebecca slumped down on the bed with Lucy, “that’s why I told him he’s going to have to wait longer now. But Lucy I will say this, that man does make me thump in my pants, and hard”.

The image of Jason flashed in her head; she blinked shaking her head trying to shake him out of it.

“What about you and Christopher Harper? Tell me how big it is really?”

Rebecca was now looking at Lucy’s hands, as she done her anglers pose of ‘the one that got away’.

“Ohh my God, are you serious? She howled as Lucy nodded her head,” and you get that nearly every night?”

Lucy nodded her head again with a dirty little smile on her face while she said

“And all night long, he’s like the Duracell bunny” as they fell about laughing yet again. “So Bec’s what work like?” she sat there and thought a big smile forming across Rebecca’s face….

****

The day after her initial meeting, with Mr. Nichol’s, she went into ‘Natural Logistics’ office. The glazed shop front agency looked lovely, she pushed the door as she went in, and was greeted by a pretty well presented receptionist who looked up from her computer screen as she entered smiling “Hello how may I help you?”,

“Rebecca Keane to see Mr. Nichol’s” she smiled back at the friendly girl, “Please take a seat” she replied her hand extended to the seating area.

Rebecca had a quick look at the faces hard at work at their desks. It was a nice set up, there were a few applicants being interviewed by consultants, it looked like a nice working environment. She was just sitting down when the pretty receptionist spoke again.

”Mr. Nichol’s, will be down in a moment” as she smiled again at Rebecca, this time, checking out her shoes, Rebecca caught her looking at her shoes.

“Sorry, they’re lovely where did you get them, if you didn’t mind me asking?”

Rebecca was just about to answer when Mr. Nichols walked from a door in the back through to the reception where Rebecca was sitting. She stood up and shook the hand that he had extended.

“Rebecca thanks for coming to see us on short notice”

Mr. Nichol’s said while walking her thru the open plan office to the door that he had come from as the staff’s eyes followed them until the door was closed.

She didn’t know where the door lead, or as to where they were going. She presumed that they were going to his office which was possibly in some part of the building.

They went up a flight of stairs to another door with a security code key pad, his fingers rapidly keying in the digits. The door opened and they stepped thru into another office. This was full of the hustle and bustle of a busy office. They walked through to what she thought a huge corridor to a large open plan office with pods in the main area of the floor space. There were glazed offices around the perimeters. It looked like it used to be two buildings at one point which were knocked into one. Rebecca certainly hadn’t anticipated this.

She just thought it was going to be a quick meeting, how wrong she was.

They approached a large corner office, Mr. Nichols showed her in and to a seat, before sitting down himself.

“Rebecca thanks for coming into day, I know we spoke about a lot yesterday, I was wondering how you feel about what I said?” Rebecca sat there her hands on her lap.

“Absolutely fine Mr. Nichol’s, I’m very interested in the service that you provide for your clients, I like the diversity of the business, Mr. Nichols I’m delighted to accept the position” She spoke with conviction.

“Good. Because you Rebecca, have a meeting, up-stairs in less than five minutes.” He motioned with his head with a single nod type movement.

He looked at her face to see if there was any reaction. He smiled to himself she was as cool as a cucumber, and he knew he put her on the spot, “No problem Mr. Nichols” she smiled.

Rebecca followed him out the door and to a highly polished chrome lift; he pushed the button as he turned to her;

“Don’t worry, this is all normal, it’s just with the nature of the business. You have to be pretty versatile, which I know you are” he smiled reassuringly at her, “It’s just formalities don’t worry about a thing”.

The lift arrived and they stepped into the glass surrounded walls, and ascended to the 5
th
floor. They were walking down a vast corridor with glass walled offices, and then they entered the boardroom.

The table was a huge, its walnut surface highly polished creating a glow down at the end of the table with she could see the outline of quintet of people. It was enormous it must have sat thirty people at least.

They walked to the end of the room where four people were seated, in front of them she could see her C.V., and leather bound A4 folders with note pads, pens lying idly for the moment.

To the right of them in the corner was a stenographer, who was obviously talking minutes of the meeting. She looked at each, all men bar one woman, who reminded her of ‘Maggie Smith’ in the ‘first wives club’.

Rebecca smiled at each and sat in the Chair Mr. Nichol’s had pulled out for her. She was surprised the gentleman who headed the table was the first to speak.

“So Rebecca, I’m delighted that you’re finally joining us here at ‘Black Card’. Now, we have arranged for you to leave your employers, effective immediately. Your personnel belonging are being collected as we speak; now we would like to you start with us on Monday morning. He looked at her blankly as he continued.

“We have also spoken to you about relocation”, he looked at Mr. Nichols who gave only a singular nod in agreement.
