Authors: Jeff Baron
CUT TO: Grandma, Chris, and Chloe walking up to the next door neighbor's front door. Grandma rings the doorbell. We hear Roscoe barking. The door opens.
MRS. IRZYK: | Well, hello. |
GRANDMA: | Hi, Beth. You've met our grandchildren. |
MRS. IRZYK: | Hi. Did you want to take your car out? I'll make sure the dog stays inside. |
GRANDMA: | No. Chris and Chloe brought something for Roscoe. |
Chris holds up a doggie treat.
MRS. IRZYK: | Oh, nice. (calls out) Roscoe! |
Roscoe runs in, grabs the treat from Chris's hand, then runs out.
MRS. IRZYK: | He learned his manners from my husband. |
CHLOE: | Do you think Roscoe can be part of my science project? |
MRS. IRZYK: | You can't dissect him. |
Chloe takes a glass slide from the plastic container Grandma is holding.
CHLOE: | I'm comparing human saliva with dog saliva. |
MRS. IRZYK: | Oh, sure. Roscoe will lick anything. Let me hold the slide so he doesn't eat it. (calls out) Roscoe! |
In slow motion, Roscoe runs in, and then we see a close up of a big dog's tongue licking the slide.
CUT TO: Grandpa's workroom. Grandma is inside the time machine. Chris and Chloe watch. Grandpa pushes TALK.
GRANDPA: | Are you sure about this? |
Then he pushes LISTEN.
GRANDMA: | Roscoe, here I come. |
