“See you are not bad at this,” she said laughing as they paid and Emily rolled her eyes.

They were heading out of the mall when they bumped into someone coming
in
.

“Hi Sasha…Emily,”
Victoria
said catching their attention and she was with three other women all werewolves according to Sasha’s senses.  She did not have to say anything to Emily because she was starting to learn to read expressions very well.

“So Emily, do you think you have a shot with my mate?  I mean, you
are
a human and he is werewolf.  He cannot be protecting you all the time once he becomes Alpha,”
Victoria
said as her eyes gleamed and Emily looked at her intently, and
then
she had a flash.

Victoria and her cronies were walking into the house and Emily could hear the music all around her.

“Did you hear, Victoria, that Alpha Caine has picked four female members of
h
is pack to see if they are the mate of his oldest son to become
Alpha Female,” her friend Sally
gushed and Victoria laughed as she saw Ar
nold, her mate and future Alpha, standing by his father
.

“What has that got to do with me?  I am already in line for Alpha Female once my mate takes over the pack,”
Victoria
said winking at her mate.

“You really do not know,” Sally
said stopping in her tracks that
Victoria
turned around and glared at her.

“Victoria, Jay is th
e next in line for Alpha,” Sally
said.

“What?”
Victoria
said and Sally
explained, “Yeah, Jay Caine, the oldest son of Alpha Stan Caine.  Didn’t you say that he thought you two were mates?”
Victoria
nodded her head as she smiled widely at the information.  She knew what she would do and looking over at
Arnold
, she ran a finger over
the mark he had given her.  It would
be
easy to break their mating, but first she had to make sure that Jay knew she was still interested in him.  Then…he would be all hers.

Emily flashed back to the present as Sasha said to her, “Emily.”  Emily shook her head as she came out of it and she heard the others laughing as she came out of her daze.

“You are terrified, child,”
Victoria
said smugness, “
And y
ou think you would be a good mate for Jay.”  She shook her head as she walked away with the others following her.

“Come on,” Sasha said dragging Emily out of the mall and Emily could tell that she was pissed.

“Sasha,” Emily said once they were in the car with their dresses laid on the backseat, “I am not scared not of her.  I just had a vision about her and her cronies.”

Sasha sent her a quick glance before returning her eyes to the road, “I know that you were coming out of a vision, but that woman pisses me off.”

Emily laughed and Sasha had to smile for it was the first time since this whole mess started that one of Emily’s visions actually acted normal.

“What did you see?” she asked and Emily explained it to her as they went back to the house.

They were laughing as they came in and took their purchases upstairs to their room.

Sasha looked around and then she blushed but before she could say anything Emily said, “You are going to be spending you
r
nights with Mark, aren’t you?”

Sasha gaped at her and Emily just laughed at her.  “Let us go see where your mate is,” she said taking Sasha by the arm and Sasha noticed that Emily did not say anything about finding her mate.

“Emily…” Sasha began as they headed down to the gym area remembering that the men wanted to work out.  Emily stopped for a second then turned heading back to their room.  Sasha was confused as she followed her and when she saw her grabbing her bathing suit, she smiled and grabbed hers.

Emily…” she began again as they
headed down the stairs again both
clad in their bathing suits with a pair of shorts and a tank top.

Emily sighed as she said softly, “I am human, Sasha, and although
Victoria
is wrong about other things, she is right in saying that I would be more of a distraction for Jay than a
ny
help in the pack.”  Sasha stopped her before they entered the gym room, “She is right about you being human, but you are both wrong about you being a distraction.  Emily, your gift is powerful and could be very helpful to him in keeping you safe, and besides, I do not think that Jay is going to let you just walk away because of something like that.”

“Damn right,” a voice said, and they both turned around to see Jay standing their only in a pair of shorts and his eyes were narrowed on Emily who was swallowing as her eyes ran over his body.

Chapter
10

Mark and Jay had just finished working out when Mark smiled all of sudden and Jay looked at him in confusion until he smelled her, his mate Emily.  They were coming to the gym and he was walking to the door to open it when what they were saying froze him as Mark stepped forward frowning.

“…although
Victoria
is wrong about other things, she is right in saying that I would be more of distraction for Jay than help in the pack.”

“She is right about you being human, but you are both wrong about you being a distraction.  Emily, your gift is powerful and could be very helpful to him in keeping you safe, and besides, I do no think that Jay is going to let you just walk away because of something like that.”  Jay had opened the door as she was finishing her sentence, and he said, “Damn right” watching them turn to him.  He saw the satisfied look on Sasha’s face as she wa
lked past him to Mark but he
focused on Emily who was swallowing as she ran her eyes over his body.

He smirked, “Like what you see?”

Emily’s eyes flicke
re
d up to his and she glared even though she blushed, and he pulled her into the gym closing the door behind her.

“So,” Mark said, “did
you finish picking out your dresses
for the party?”  Sasha bega
n
gushing with delight about her dress as Emily rolled her eyes and just nodded.
Sasha continued chatting for a few minutes until Emily said, “Sasha, enough.  I thought we were going to go swimming after you made sure that
Mark knew that you would be sleeping
with him in his room
from now on
.”

Sasha’s mouth dropped open at Emily’s words, and Mark just looked at her with a smirk.

“Oops, sorry,” Emily muttered although Jay could tell that it was
an
insincere sorry.

“I am so going to kill you, Emily,” Sasha growled as she looked at her, and Emily just laughed.  She started running though when Sasha lounged.  Emily may not be a wolf but she was fast and she showed it as she run from Sasha.  She flipped over the bars landing on feet as Sasha stopped in front of them.

“I am going for a swim.  You may need one, too, Sasha to calm you
r
hot headedness,” and Sasha growled as Emily quickly pulled off her tank top before running towards the pool.  Jay and Mark followed as Emily slipped out of
her
shorts before diving
smoothly
into the pool.

Sasha stood at the edge for a moment before she pulled off her clothes to reveal her bathing suit before diving in after her.

She popped
up
a few minutes later and Emily popped
up
after her.

“Feel better,” she asked and Sasha turned around pushing her underneath
the
water while laughing.  Emily came back up spluttering and Sasha just stuck her tongue out at her before swimming over to the side where Jay and Mark were standing.  Mark knelt down as she approached and he kissed her soundly as Jay slipped out of
his
shoes before sliding into the water and swimming over to Emily.  He pulled her into his arms and kissed her without a thought, and Emily could not help responding to him.

“Gross
,” another voice said as Michaela
came
running into the room and she dive bombed into the pool.  The four of them started laughing as she came up for air and she smiled.

They played together until
dinnertime
,
and then
they got out to dress and head
ed
to their rooms to change out of their wet clothes.

Later that evening, Emily sat on her bed looking at Sasha’s bed.  Sasha had already came in and got the things she was going to need to stay in Mark’s room tonight, and she was going to miss having her here with her.  She frowned as she curled up on the bed because she really did not want to have any visions tonight.

The door opened without a knock and she sat up in surprise as Jay shut it behind him.

“Get what you need for the nigh
t,” he said without mincing words
, and she looked at him in shock.

“Huh” was all she could say and Jay rolled his eyes as he pulled her up to her feet. He kissed her on the lips then pushed her lightly to the closet, “Grab a change of clothes, toothbrush, hairbrush, and anything else you use in the morning.  Tomorrow we will see a
bout getting all
of
your
things transferred to my room
as will Mark help Sasha get her
things transferred to his room.”  Emily finally understood what he was saying, and she bit her lip as she said, “What about my parents? Your parents?”

He said honestly, “They already know, and although you father was not happy about it, your mom told him it was for the best.  I am not going to let you go through what you did last night and every night since you have been he
re by yourself.” He narrowed his
eyes at her and she nodded her head as she gathered what she would need.  “Besides,” he added wa
tching her, “We need to talk s
tarting with your gift that you never bothered to mention before.”  Emily looked at him with wariness in her eyes but she nodded her head as she finished and looking around, she said quietly, “I am ready.”

As they walked out, she heard
a
whisper loud enough for her to hear, “No, you are not but you will be.”  She gasped at his words and he placed a hand at her lower back steering her to his room, and Jay felt a sense of satisfaction as he opened the door to his room and
she walked in looking around her as he followed closing the door behind him.

Emily looked around Jay’s room and had to admit that it was defini
tely better than the one she stayed
in
with Sasha
.  She put her bag down on the floor next to the bed and wandered over to the window placing her arms around her
middle
.  Jay watched for a moment then went to pick up the bag from the floor and started to take things out of it.

“I started having visions
when I was two or three, weird dreams; a boy falling down and hitting his head, a little girl drowning in her pool, an older man being hit by a car.  The bad part is I would always see a few minutes before that final ending.  At first, I believed it when my mother told me they were just nightmares.  I was three and it made sense that I was having nightmares, but then I started seeing th
ings during the day too.  Of course, not everything I see is bad or about death, but most of it is.” She paused for a moment and Jay continued unpacking her bag putting her toothbrush and brush off to the s
ide to put in the bathroom
as he waited for her to continue.  “It happened at the fair too.  I was not scared of the wolf, but I had seen him a few seconds before he arrived.  The only thing I don’t remember is him saying soon.”  Jay froze at her words because he had said
it
as he ran away but Emily would not have heard him for she was not werewolf.  Jay looked at the woman in front of the window and he saw her frown.

He finished unpacking before walking up to her.

He spun
her
around to face him and she looked up at him with big brown eyes.  “You and I both know that
Victoria
is right even if she wants you because you will be Alpha.”  Her eyes widened as she said this and Jay could not help the laugh that came out.  He would not tell her just yet that the position of Alpha was going to Mark.

He leaned down and kissed her b
efore saying, “You may be human
Emily Ann, but destiny
h
as pronounced you as my mate.  Why don’t you do the same thing you told your sister, and that is get to know
me first before you decide
anything else.”  Emily looked up into his green eyes and she knew that she did not have to get know him for she already knew the answer, but she nodded her head for if they took it slow then maybe he would find someone better.
