“No, I don’t have anything,” she kept shaking her head. “I didn’t go for my shot last week because I wasn’t feeling like myself.”

“Love,” I closed the distance between us. “It’ll be fine.”

Pulling her off the tub, I cupped her face while wiping her tears with my thumbs.

“This never happens. I’m not sure what I was thinking, and I’m always so good about this,” she started to ramble.

“Love, it's fine. Come back to bed with me and later this morning we’ll get some breakfast then go to the pharmacy so you can get the morning after pill.”

“I can’t take pills,” She cried.

Soothing her, I said, “Calm down. I know how you can take them without knowing.”

“How?” she asked.

“You’ll see.” I kissed her nose, “Now come back to bed. I’ll take care of everything.”

She nodded her head, causing her afro to move all over the place. It was cute on her. I realized I loved her fro. After we both had crawled back in bed, she turned to face me and said, “Are you clean?”

“Yes, I have my bill of health from a few weeks ago. I will bring it with me tomorrow.” I said without thinking.

I was already making plans for tomorrow with her?

Oh shit.

“Okay,” she breathed deeply. “I need to have mine updated, but I never have unprotected sex, so I should be good.”

“Why are you so freaked out?” I moved her hair out of her face.

She sighed, “Sorry you had to see that. I just -”

She exhaled, “My father died a few years ago from AIDS, so I get freaked out about stuff like that.”

Damn.

After she had made the shocking statement, it was like she put her shield back up with me. She even tried to move away from me, but I stopped that. Wrapping my hands around her neck, I halted her movements and pulled her back towards me so our noses were touching.

“Sorry to hear that about your dad.” I whispered against her lips.

“Thanks.”

“Your mom?” I asked.

“She was not affected and had stopped sleeping with him a long time before that,” She told me.

There was something else there, but now did not seem like the time.

“I see why you get freaked. We are good. I’ll take care of everything, okay.”

“Yeah,” she responded.

“No, I mean it Lauren,” rubbing my thumb across her eyebrow. “I got you. Do you trust me?”

“I don’t know that I should,” She answered honestly.

“You will.”

The next morning was fast paced because I was scheduled to be at work, but Lauren and this situation came first. We went to breakfast at Sal’s because they served the best chicken and waffles in the county. She was a little apprehensive to go back there, but after I had explained that she was some sort of legend, she acquiesced. The manager came up to her, raving about how she pounded the girl’s head over the table and how he wished he got that on camera. She did not share his sentiments, as she was very grateful that it was not recorded. She told me this after he left.

Lauren was quiet throughout the meal; I assumed she was still reeling from the scare last night. Once we finished eating, our journey to the CVS was also in silence, until I had enough.

“Are you alright?” I inquired.

“I will be okay, just wrapping my mind around everything that has happened.” She kept her head forward.

“I see.”

“I am concerned about taking this pill.”

“Love,” I put my truck in park. “I’ve got this.”

“Okay,” she shrugged her shoulders.

***

Once we arrived back to her condo, I grabbed some water, a knife and some paper towels. Her hair, which was normally all over the place, was in a neat bushy ponytail that made her eyes look slanted. Those deep brown eyes already captured my attention, but with her hair pulled back, it put her entire face on display. She was simply beautiful.

“Come here,” I called to her.

She turned from her computer to look at me, “What’s up?”

“We need to take the pill.”

“We?” she quipped.

“We are doing this together, so yeah, we.”

She got up and came to me, “I’m telling you Zach, if I gag, throw up or die, it will be all your fault.”

“A little dramatic…”

“I get it, honestly.”

She stood in front of the couch, beside my right knee. I moved my leg so she could stand in between mine. As I unbuckled her jeans, she raised an eyebrow and asked, “Do you think now is the time for hanky panky?”

The woman was funny.

“No, this is the part where you will take the pill.”

“What?” She tried to step away. “It won’t work if you shove it up my woman parts.”

I erupted in laughter.

“Love,” my hands rested on both of her hips. “Trust me.”

Her breath reached my face, as she exhaled her acceptance. Once her jeans were off, I pulled her down on my lap and opened the bag.

“Lie back and close your eyes.”

She exhaled deeply again but obeyed me. I opened the bag that I brought from Sal’s and CVS. With the knife, I cut up the pill into tiny pieces. The blueberry muffin that I bought from Sal’s was topped with a glazed crust. They were very good, but when I saw that she had blueberry muffin mix in her pantry, I figured this could be the ticket. Just in case, I planned to seduce her to take the pill. I broke the muffin up into bite-sized bits and embedded the cut pieces of the pills within them.

Lauren’s head was on the arm of the chair, while her bottom lay on my thigh. As I opened her blouse, I whispered, “Trust me, love.”

She inhaled and exhaled again as I pulled her bra down to reveal her nipples that were playing hide and seek under the lace. The brown circles surrounding them were big and inviting. They were made to be sucked and nibbled on until they were nice and erect. Perfect. Leaning down, I wrapped my lips around one and squeezed the other, as my thumb rubbed the nipple. Lauren moaned, arched her back so I could grab more. Looking up at her, I saw her bronze lips were slightly parted, showing the tops of her straight white teeth. Her lashes rested on her cheeks, displaying the light tint of golden eye shadow. She looked like an angel, laid out just for me.

“Open your mouth,” I tell her.

Sticking my index and middle finger in her mouth, those soft lips moistened the pads of my calloused skin. Using her tongue to draw them further in, she started to suck on them, further driving me crazy. I nipped her nipple, which produced a yelp from her. Lifting my head, I withdrew my fingers and grabbed a piece of the muffin to place in her mouth. Her brows came together at first, but after a taste, she chewed willingly. Using my other hand, putting them down her panties, I rubbed her nub in tiny circles until she moaned while feeding her another piece of the muffin. She inhaled it because her breathing was labored as a result of what I was doing to her sweet pussy. I repeated this a few more times, but the last time, I rubbed faster, until she grabbed on to my shirt and came all over my hand with a loud scream.

Crumbs were all over her mouth, her breast, and neck. As she calmed down, I lapped up each piece with my tongue. The entire muffin was gone. She had taken the pills and had an orgasm all in one.

“You can open your eyes now,” I told her.

They fluttered open and focused on me, “Wow!” she breathed. “Now how are you going to get me to take the pill?”

“You already did.” I licked my fingers.

“Huh?” she asked.

“It was in the muffin,” I explained.

“Oh, wow.” She raised an eyebrow at me. “You are just full of surprises. Very clever.”

She wrapped her arms around my shoulders, pulling herself up to straddle me.

A grunt escaped my mouth as her hooded eyes landed on mine. I wanted to take her, wanted to make sure she knew, but we had that “thing” looming over us. She hated me and what I wrote, yet she did not know. I should have cared, but as she started to rock on me, it escaped my mind.

“Love,” I breathed, “You think we should chill for now?”

“What?!” She exclaimed.

“After this morning, after the way we ended things. That wasn’t really resolved.”

She stopped rocking and looked at me. “What is there to resolve?” She asked with curiosity. “You know Z. Hays, I’m assuming, and you didn’t admit it.”

“No, I told you I heard of him.” I clarified.

“Fine, so you like his work?” She asked, but tried to get off of me. I held her firmly on my lap.

“I’m a fan of his work, yes. As I told you on the night we met, I dabble in some BDSM, but not all aspects.”

“What aspects?” she asked with more than curiosity in her voice, but intrigue.

“Have you tried it?” I asked.

“No, not really.”

I continued to hold her on me.

“Well, I like the bondage aspect, but in moderation. Tying up my partner, but no gagging. I like the discipline part: I’ve used canes, belts, hands, and floggers. I’m less into the sadistic part. I don’t get off from inflicting pain, but I do get off by seeing that my partner enjoys being spanked or disciplined, the submissive aspect.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah?” She made a humming noise and continued, “So you like women crawling around on the floor being pulled by their hair?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Seeing a woman crawl with that ass on display, yes. Treating a woman like a dog, not so much.”

Her eyebrows went up.

“What?”

“Well, Z. Hays, writes about that.” She said pointedly.

“Okay, you are a blogger, and you clearly don’t like everything you read. I may not be down with every aspect of his writing, but I do enjoy him as an author. He really is a good writer.”

“What are you his spokesperson?” She asked sarcastically.

“No, but I do enjoy his work.” I grabbed her by the neck. “Love, you got to give honor where honor is due.”

She willingly came down towards me as her lips were inches away from mine. “Is that the army talking?”

“No.”

“Hmm, well he is a good writer.” She conceded.

I smiled and took her lips as she wrapped her hands around my neck to deepen the kiss. The woman was unraveling me and now she just admitted that I, I mean, Z. Hays was a good writer. Life, all of a sudden, seemed good. It was then I decided not to tell her. She just wouldn’t know. She couldn’t. I wanted her for me, but I know that her knowing who I really am would be the end.

“Love,” I moaned as she sucked on my neck.

Running my hands through her hair, I pulled it so I could take over. She was one that needed to be tamed or she would try to tame you. Her eyes were low again as she licked her lips.

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM

Someone was banging on the door.

I looked at her to see if there was something I should know, but she raised her eyebrows and went to get off of me. I moved her so she was sitting on the couch. If someone was knocking like that, I was the only one answering the door. She followed, being hardheaded.

A raised fist was high in the air, mid-knock, when I opened it.

“Yes?” I looked at the short woman that I met a couple of weeks ago. She had called her Gab.

She looked at me and blushed a little like she wasn’t expecting me. “Oh,” she said.

“What do you want?” Lauren snapped, standing next to me.

“We need to talk.” She peered at Lauren.

“We most certainly do not,” Lauren said as she tried to close the door, but I wouldn’t let her.

She looked at me as if to say
move
.

“We can catch up later,” I said.

“No, Zach, Gabrielle and I have nothing to discuss.” She enunciated every word.

Oh, this was a girl fight. I turned towards the woman in the door and said, “Are you going to be able to work this out like adults or will you need a mediator? I’ve broken up enough female fights already.”

“What?” Gab gasped at his comment.

“Will there be a physical altercation?” Zach asked again.

“No,” she exclaimed. “I just need to talk to Lauren and explain. She’s my friend.”

After assessing the women who looked very remorseful, I turned and backed Lauren in the corner, near the crowded coat rack and whispered, “Love, I’ll see you later tonight, okay. Let’s do dinner at my place. I’m cooking. It’ll be simple, but delicious.” She softened and nodded, so I continued. “Talk to your friend. You only come across real friends once in a blue moon, and life is too short for stupid shit.”

I kissed her as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Sucking on her tongue, her bottom lip and jaw line. “See you later,” I whispered in her ear and turned to leave, opening the door, so the short one could go in.

She took advantage of the opportunity, and when I looked back, she was closing the door as I started Lola.

Well, my job was done in that regard.
