He kissed the back of her neck and entered fast and hard. She was so tight and slick, he howled at the pleasure of it. He bit down on her neck, not thinking about what he was doing, tasting her blood and claiming her as his. He pumped into her faster and faster.

Sally could feel her pleasure building, and she wasn't sure how much more she could take. Her fangs were sharp and ached to taste him again. “Oh, my Goddess, I'm going to come; it feels so fucking good,” she murmured.

Connor responded by fucking her harder and cupping her breasts and teasing her nipples. “Come for me, Baby; let it go.”

“Oh, yes Connor, yes,” she screamed as her orgasm claimed her body. Her pussy clenched around his cock and he quickly followed her, spilling his warmth into her.

S
ally woke up the next evening as the automatic shutters opened. Her head was pounding and things from the night before were a little foggy. She looked down, saw she was completely naked, and looked over to find Connor in her bed, also naked.
Oh Fuck!
She thought as she remembered what happened the night before. She ran out of bed and grabbed her robe and covered herself as she searched for clothes to wear.

“Salihah, are you up, Sweetie?”

Sally froze at the sound of her given name; she looked over at Connor with a look of confusion on her face. “What did you call me?” she asked.

“Salihah; that’s what you told me to call you last night. That’s your name, your real name, right?”

“Please don’t call me that; I’m Sally,” she yelled out as she ran into the bathroom and slammed the door.

C
onnor sat up on the bed a little stunned.
What did I do?
He shrugged and decided to give her time and talk to her when she got out of the bathroom.

D
akarai arrived at
Bloodlust
like the text from Maurice instructed him. He sat down and observed the waitresses, wondering if one was Mary, the Vampire he was supposed to befriend. He spotted one waitress across the room and didn’t know for certain, but she was a vision of beauty. Her golden brown curly hair was pulled into a simple ponytail. Her body had curves in all the right places. He secretly hoped he was sitting at her table and that it wasn’t Maurice’s Mary. He would very much like her in his bed that night, and a few more nights for that matter. She wasn’t Salihah, but she would be a nice distraction. He looked up as a blonde waitress appeared at his table.

“What can I get you to drink?” she asked, getting out a pad to write on.

“I will give you one-hundred dollars to give this table to that waitress over there.”

“That’s Mary; she won’t date you if that's what you’re thinking,” the blonde replied.

“I didn't remember asking your opinion,” Dakarai snapped back at her, becoming impatient. The waitress scowled at him, snatched up the hundred-dollar bill, and hurried off.

Dakarai smiled as he saw Mary approach his table. She smiled, and he realized she was even more beautiful up close.

“What can I get you to drink?” Mary asked.

“I am Dakarai. I am new to the area. What do you recommend?”

“It depends on your pleasure. Are you looking just for blood or some extra effects? We can also provide live donors.”

“Are you offering, sweet Mary?”

M
ary couldn’t help but giggle at his flirtation; he was gorgeous and exotic with the most interesting accent. “How did you know my name?”

“The other waitress told me, and you have a name tag,” he pointed out.

Mary laughed and looked down at her nametag. “You know better than that. Vampire blood won’t give you what you need.”

“I know, but it would still be quite enjoyable. You interest me.” He gave her a flirtatious wink.

Mary looked at him and thought to herself that he had the most interesting grey eyes that seemed to see right down to her soul. She was used to men hitting on her, but this was the first time she ever thought about it.

“Thank you, Dakarai, but I don’t go on dates.”

“I was thinking we could start out as friends. Do you have a policy against friends?”

“Well, no,” she stammered. “Could you order something? I don’t want to get in trouble.” Mary couldn’t help but notice the way he sucked on his lower lip. She wondered what he was thinking about.

“Give me an O neg, any kind, with lemonade. I have a sweet tooth tonight.”

“Coming right up.”

She hurried off to fill his order and Dakarai couldn’t help but watch her walk away. He cursed under his breath, wondering why this delicate creature had to be the one Maurice wanted.

Mary was filling the drink order when her old friend, Sire, and boss, Enri, walked up. He smiled his happy smile, the one he seemed to always wear since he found the love of his life, Mallory.

“How is everything going?”

“Great. I even made a new friend tonight.”

“Really? Who?” Enri asked.

“Over there; his name is Dakarai. He wants to be friends.” Mary pointed over to Dakarai sitting at the table watching her intently.

“I don’t like it. Men, especially Vampires, don’t do the ‘just friends’ thing. He wants something, I know it.”

“Enri, I love you like a brother, but you need to back off. I know what I’m doing. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to take my new friend a drink.”

Mary put the drink down in front of Dakarai. He took a sip and thanked her. “Very nice. Do you have time to visit with me?”

“Well, all my tables are caught up. I could sit for a few minutes.” She sat down and put her tray off to the side of the table.

“Has your name always been Mary?” Dakarai asked as he continued drinking.

“Yes; I have always been with Enri, my sire. He protected me so I never had to change it.”

“And are you still with Enri?”

“No; I moved out a few months ago. He owns this club so I still work for him but I have my own place now. Your turn; tell me something about you.”

“I'm not exactly sure how old I am; there were no calendars back in that time. I have lived everywhere and have met many historical figures through my travels, but all that is a bore. I only wish to settle for a while.”

“And you picked Detroit? Did you run out of places to visit?” she joked.

“Not at all. I like it here; the lakes are beautiful, and I hear the west side of Michigan has wonderful beaches.”

“Yes, but the whole sun thing can be a bummer.”

“Didn’t Enri teach you anything? Wait until the sun is about to set for the day, and you’ll have just enough light. It’s not that strong so it has minimal effect.”

“Sounds wonderful.”

“I would be honored if you would let me take you.”

“Oh crap, my tables.” Mary grabbed her tray and rushed back to work. Dakarai sat alone for a little while when his phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Have you done as I asked?”

“Yes, I’m in. She’s very friendly. It was easy.”

“Good; just remember she’s mine so keep your hands off.”

“She said she doesn’t date. She was only interested in a friend.”

“Good, good. I will be in Detroit by tomorrow. I will call you when I get into town.”

Dakarai hung up the phone and left a generous tip. As he walked toward the door, he passed Mary on his way out.

“Leaving?” she asked.

“Yes, I have business to take care of; I’ll come back tomorrow. Are you working?”

“Yeah, I’ll be here. See you tomorrow.”

Chapter 6

C
onnor stood on the other side of the door as Sally refused to come out. She’d bolted from the bedroom into the bathroom and had been inside ever since.

“Please, Salihah—I mean, Sally. Just come out and talk to me. I need to go to work soon. I don’t want to leave like this.”

“Go away, Connor. Just go,” she yelled through the door.

“I need to go to work, but I’ll come by later.” Connor finished dressing and walked out the door. Just his luck! Javon was standing there with an unhappy look on his face. He was bare-chested in a pair of pajama pants.

“Wolf, what are you doing here?”

“I brought Sally home last night; she called me for a ride. Anything else that may have happened is between us.”

“Listen to me, Wolf, and listen good: Sally is like a mother to me. If you do anything to hurt her, I will make you regret it in many painful ways.” Javon smiled, not bothering to hide his very lethal looking fangs.

“Vampire, it would not be smart to underestimate me. And you should know I care for Sally very much. I would never hurt her.” Connor pushed his way past Javon and left the house.

S
ally listened until she was sure Connor left before she ventured out of the bathroom. She quietly stepped out to find Javon not looking too happy. She did her best to paste on a smile and act natural.

“Javon, so nice to see you this evening.”

“Sally, I know,” Javon said

“I don’t know what you talking about.” Sally walked past him toward the door; he stepped around her blocking her path.

“Sally, please tell me what happened with the wolf.” Javon scowled.

“His name is Connor. Why are you acting this way? I thought you liked him.”

“I did until you started dating him.”

“We’re not dating, exactly. Well, honestly, I don’t know what we are,” she said, sounding exasperated. “We have been spending time together. Then last night I had a blood cocktail, you know, the kind that makes you drunk.”
