The Desperadoes 3

Be My Dream Tonight

A fiery eruption of solar flares disintegrates most of Earth’s human population, frying electrical grids around the world and thrusting everyone into a cold, harsh land where only the strong survive.

Passionate ménages with the fierce men of the Durango gang have always made Eve Wright’s body hum with sizzling arousal. Secretly, she loved all three men, that is, until she suffered a head injury and forgot them. Now her memory is returning with a carnal vengeance and she knows of only one way to relieve her sexual frustrations…by returning to the men she once loved.

When Eve shows up at their hideout, Kayne, Riley, and Maddox are pleased she wants them to help her remember what they once shared. Their hot looks, tender touches, and scorching pleasure-pain will leave Eve tangled in an erotic storm that threatens to break her heart and give up a gut-wrenching secret.

Chapter One

Eve Wright hugged herself as the cold, early-morning July mountain breeze whispered against her body. Dressed only in a pair of heavy-duty work boots and a thick wool blanket that reached her ankles, she carefully stepped along the rock-riddled pathway that descended into
Stanley
Glacier
Valley
. Casting quick glances behind her, she surveyed a rock plateau strewn with straggly, twisted pine trees where the Durango Gang hid during the summer months.

Nothing moved back there, except the white, puffy clouds in the crisp blue sky and a rock rabbit that whistled in fright the instant it saw her. It scurried quickly away across the endless array of craggy gray rocks.

She’d left Riley Raine and Maddox Burns sleeping soundly back there after a passionate night of sex with them. Below her, hidden in one of those rocky outcrops was Kayne
Durango
, leader of the gang. It had been his turn on lookout duty last night, so he hadn’t been in camp. Subsequently, he’d missed out on the scorching ménage with Riley, Maddox, and herself. She’d missed Kayne’s company, and now she wanted some one-on-one action with him.

Kayne was the oldest of the three at thirty-eight. Maddox was thirty and Riley twenty-eight. She was twenty-five and too old to follow their orders when they told her not to leave camp without an escort. She knew it was dangerous because of the grizzly bears and the wolves that were starving due to the aftereffects of the Catastrophe. But animals didn’t scare her.

What did frighten her were the powerful emotions she’d developed regarding the three hardened men who consisted of the Durango Gang. Not long ago, Kayne had said the gang might be expanding. She didn’t like that idea. With more men entering the gang, she worried about her being shared with other men. Sure she would have a say in it, the men had after all asked her first if she wanted to join them in the gang, and she’d known what was required of her. Three guys were plenty of action for her, and unknown to them, each man now owned a piece of her heart.

It was hard not to love the desperadoes. They’d rescued her from a pleasure house in
British Columbia
shortly after the Catastrophe. They’d taken her into their gang, fed her, clothed her, and kept her safe from the roaming cannibal gangs and other unscrupulous characters that took advantage of people who’d suddenly found themselves desolate and desperate following the Catastrophe that had fried Earth’s electrical grids and disintegrated a good amount of Earth’s human population. In return, she’d given them access to her body, and not long after, she’d secretly given them her heart.

Bastards
.

Yes, she was in love with all three men. Men who most likely viewed her only as a sexual object. She wanted to know how they truly felt about her, but the last thing she wanted to do was to tell them that she loved them. If she told them, then she may end up making a fool out of herself, if they didn’t reciprocate her feelings.

She sighed and shook her head at such schoolgirl silliness.

Yeah, they showed her they appreciated her during their lovemaking sessions. They made sure she was always the first to come, and they certainly treated her with tenderness. Actually, they showered her with too much tenderness at times. Sometimes they treated her as if she were some easily broken doll, who needed pampering and looking after. Their concern for her safety and her happiness had been fine in the beginning. Lately, it wasn’t enough for her. Lately, she realized she needed something from them. She needed something

“Why are you out here alone?” Kayne’s angry voice snapped at her from behind.

Damn him. How had he managed to sneak up on her like that? She hated when he did that. For Pete’s sakes, she’d just looked behind her a second ago and hadn’t seen a thing, except that rock rabbit.

She whirled around and came face-to-face with the tallest man in the gang. At six foot two inches to her five feet seven inches, he didn’t intimidate her with his size. What did intimidate her was the wild patter of her heart every time she looked at him.

Startled by Kayne’s sudden appearance, she misstepped on a loose rock and teetered. Before she could fall over, he reached her in a split second, grabbed her around the waist, and hurled her off her feet as if she were a feather floating on the breeze.

Oh, he smelled so heavenly. Always did. Outdoorsy smells. The scents of tart pine and crisp creeks and of the

Mountain
wilderness. Wild man. In bed and out.
