No-Bake Fig and Hazelnut Balls

• 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

• ½ cup butter, softened

• ¼ cup sifted powdered sugar

• 1 tablespoon milk (if needed, for smooth

consistency)

• ⅓ cup finely chopped dried figs

• ⅓ cup toasted hazelnuts (filberts), chopped

• ¾ cup shredded coconut, sweetened is best

Mash together the cream cheese, butter, powdered

sugar and milk (if needed) to make a thick, frosting-

like consistency. Beat with electric hand mixer on me-

dium speed, about 1 minute or until combined and a

bit fluffy like meringue. Stir in figs and hazelnuts. Chill the mixture for 30 minutes to an hour or until it’s firm

and easy to handle (it’s like making chocolate truffles).

Using your hands, an ice cream scoop or (most likely), a

melon baller, depending on the size you want, shape mix-

ture into balls. Roll balls in coconut. Once all the balls are made, charge them with your desire for fertility as in the above recipe. Serve immediately or cover in plastic wrap

and store in the refrigerator until serving time.

118 Chapter 6

Magic Snack

For a healthy snack that also improves fertility, combine

sunflower seeds, chopped hazelnuts, raisins, and chopped

dates with some sweetened coconut flakes to create a kind

of magical trail mix. Charge the mix with your magical

goal and eat as desired.

Bath Salts

Bath salts are an excellent means of relieving sore muscles and a way to absorb magical energy that has been placed

into the salts. Soaking in a tub of warm water softens the skin and the bath salts help to make it more receptive to

cleansing and absorption. The following recipes are com-

bined to make a bath salt to relieve stiff muscles and aches and pains.

Peppermint Oil

• 3 tablespoons peppermint (fresh or dried)

• ½ cup vegetable oil (soybean)

• Optional: 3 drops of peppermint extract

(added after the oil is complete)

In a small pot, swirl the peppermint into the oil and

over very low heat, warm the mixture until you can smell

the herb in the air. At this point, remove from heat and

allow to cool. When cooled, strain and bottle the oil and

if desired, add the peppermint extract.

Healing 119

Peppermint Bath Salts

• 3 cups of Epsom salts

• 2 cups sea salt

• 1 cup baking soda

• 1 tablespoon (½ ounce) peppermint oil

Mix all ingredients together and empower with your

desire for healing and relaxation.

To Use: Add ¼ cup; up to 2 cups of bath salts per

bath. If you have dry skin, use ¼ cup at first and experi-

ment with lager amounts as desired. Soak for 20 minutes

in the bath and feel the muscle ache and stiffness im-

prove.

love, lust and

Beauty Magic

When heading to the market to buy groceries, we’re

not usually thinking about love magic … I know

that magic and broccoli have never mixed well in my

mind! There are however, tons of options at the store for

casting a spell of love. We must however, be very cautious when using magic to find love. In regards to our personal

magic, this type of working above all others MUST be

done with the ‘for the good of all’ intention added into

it. You really, really should never cast a love spell to gain the love of a specific person. While it is understood that this is unethical magic, that reason is all too often, an

insufficient deterrent. The call of “the one” that strongly yearned-for lover; seen only through the idealized haze of
121

122 Chapter 7

their admirer is frequently so powerful that all common

sense is overwhelmed and we give in to the temptation to

misuse our magic and cast a manipulative spell.

If we cast a spell to gain the love of a specific person

and we are successful in that goal; we are then extremely

vulnerable to suffering several different consequences. The first potential consequence we might encounter is, once

our idealized haze is pierced by the reality of having “the one” sitting in our living room hogging the remote and

burping the alphabet, we may decide that we don’t really

like them so much anymore and want to be rid of them;

only to find that they are deeply devoted to us and “would never leave us” no matter how much we wish they would.

A second consequence is; if we are casting a spell to gain the affection of a specific person, with specific qualities (that we think we enjoy), it may also attract a great many others who share those same qualities. Yay! Lots of hang-ers on that will all be fixated on you! Joy … the misery

of unwelcome attention. A third and perhaps, the most

difficult consequence is that when a person is “magically

captured” they are essentially bound against their free will and while they do not consciously realize this; subconsciously, they know it and will strike out accordingly. It is only natural to resent being bound and enslaved to another’s will. When someone is under magical influence,

they are ALWAYS
subconsciously
aware of it. Their mind may not be powerful enough to break the spell, but as a

defense mechanism it will resist. This resistance will show

Love, Lust and Beauty Magic 123

itself in continual arguments and episodes of conflict in

the “relationship” which will ultimately sour it and create a need for separation.

Don’t I make it all sound wonderful? Well I’m sorry,

but it is every Witch’s responsibility to warn against the misuse of magic in an authentic manner; explaining why

not to misuse your skills, instead of just stating a blanket

“don’t do it” which explains nothing. Now to the good

news; feel free to use magic to gain love as often as you

wish. Just make sure that you are not casting for a specific person. If there are certain qualities you require a potential love to possess, it is fine to include those as conditions of your spell; just use care. In a love spell, more than any other magic, it is imperative that you focus on how you

wish to
feel
when your goal is achieved. If you focus on how you want to feel, the feeling becomes the top prior-ity in the magic. This then overrides anything in the spell that would counteract bringing you that feeling. If you

combine proper feeling with “according to free will and

only for good” you have created your ticket out of magical mistakes (in most cases). As long as you avoid manipulation or dominance, everything should work out fine.

Okay, enough nagging and warning and guiding and

tutoring (and more nagging); time for the spells. Love

spells are fun, fabulous, magnetic, sexy, and luckily, really easy to make straight out of the grocery store! Let’s start with my favorite magical concoctions; brews.

124 Chapter 7

Brews

Ah, brews. Stirring the cauldron, cackling, tossing in

herbs, cackling, watching the steam rise, cackling, charg-

ing the mystical infusion, cackling, and of course, cack-

ling. Okay, maybe
not
so much cackling. Anyway, there are many liquids that have been associated with love, li-bido, and sex. Wine is one, as is mulled apple cider. This section is not so focused on the idea of “love potions” so much as brews that can be used in conjunction with other

spells. Administering a “love potion” to someone in hopes

of gaining their love is, as previously nagged, unethical

magic.

The first recipe is a non-alcoholic cider drink that you

can use as a libation or offering in spells designed to bring love into your life. You can also drink it to infuse yourself with loving vibrations and an aura of attractiveness.

Cider of Love

• 1 orange

• 15 cloves

• 4 cinnamon sticks

• 15 allspice berries

• 1 teaspoon of nutmeg

• 7 cardamom pods

• ¼ cup brown sugar

Love, Lust and Beauty Magic 125

• ½ gallon of fresh, unfiltered apple cider

Pour apple cider into a 3-quart pot, cover, turn the

heat on medium. While cider is warming, quarter the or-

ange (with the peel intact; stem removed) and add the

slices to the pot. Place the spices and brown sugar into

the sauce pan with the cider. Keep covered and heat the

mulled cider mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low.

Simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.

After 20 minutes, remove from heat and strain cider

away from the orange bits and spices. Charge the mixture

with the energy of love. Serve hot or chilled. This recipe makes 8 cups. You can store the cider in the refrigerator

in a pitcher and drink a cup of it, say each night for a

week during the waxing moon while looking for love to

increase your chances.

Magical Love Wine

• 1 bottle of red wine (your choice)

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

• ½ teaspoon nutmeg

• ¼ teaspoon ginger

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix and empower the spices and add them to the

wine. Add the vanilla extract and re-cork the bottle. Let

the wine sit for at least three days in a cool, dark place
126 Chapter 7

before serving. This wine can be served to one you love

to increase the loving feelings between the two of you.

It should only be served with someone’s knowledge and

consent. It makes a good compliment to a romantic din-

ner. It can also be used by one person alone; drink it to

enhance your attractive nature, but if intended to be used by only one person, it is probably best to cut the recipe in half or used as one small glass a day for a week or until

the wine is gone.

Tea of Desire

This potion increases lust and passion and can be con-

sumed by couples to increase their desire.

• 1 black tea bag (regular tea)

• ½ teaspoon lemon juice

• ½ teaspoon orange juice

• 1 pinch coriander

• ½ teaspoon dried mint

• ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

• 3 cups water

Heat the water to just under the boiling point (bubbles

appearing at the bottom of the pot) then, add the remain-

ing ingredients and remove from heat. Allow to cool for a

few minutes and charge with your intent. Strain, sweeten

(if desired) and serve.

Love, Lust and Beauty Magic 127

Coffee Aphrodisiac

If you prefer coffee to tea, you may want to try this recipe.

Some people have sensitive stomachs though and they

may be bothered by the acidity of coffee. If you are not

a regular coffee drinker, now would not be the time to

start. There is nothing less sexy than an upset stomach.

For those that do enjoy coffee, this recipe is rather simple to prepare.

• 2-4 tablespoons ground regular (or

decaffeinated, if you prefer) coffee

• ¼ teaspoon cardamom

• 6 cups water

• Honey (to sweeten)

• Creamer *optional

Mix the coffee grounds and cardamom together in a

small dish and charge them with your aphrodisiac intent.

Next, place the mixture in the filter of your coffee maker and fill the back with 6 cups of water or your preferred

amount. Turn on the coffee maker and once the coffee has

brewed, pour into two mugs and sweeten to taste with the

honey, adding creamer as desired. Sip the coffee slowly

and relax.

Chamomile Attraction Bath Brew

• 6 chamomile tea bags

128 Chapter 7

• 3 cups of water

Brew the chamomile tea and add it to your bathwater.

Bathing in chamomile increases your attraction abilities

and draws potential lovers to you.

Love Perfume

• 1 teaspoon mixed spice (see below)

• ½ cup ethyl alcohol
