Mark 3:31–4:25

31
There came then his brethren and his [Jesus'] mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
32
And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

33
 And he answered them, saying,
Who is my mother, or my brethren?
34
And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said,
Behold my mother and my brethren!
35

For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

4:
1
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
2
And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
3

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4

and it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5

And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6

but when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7

And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9
 And he said unto them,
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10
And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11
 And he said unto them,
Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all
these
things are done in parables:
12

that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and
their
sins should be forgiven them.

13
 And he said unto them,
Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14

The sower soweth the word.
15

And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17

and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
18

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19

and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20

And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive
it,
and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21
 And he said unto them,
Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22

For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24
 And he said unto them,
Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25

For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Psalm 37:12-29

12
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13
The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy,
and
to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16
A little that a righteous man hath
is
better than the riches of many wicked.

17
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the L
ORD
upholdeth the righteous.

18
 The L
ORD
knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the L
ORD
shall be
as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22
 For
such as be
blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and
they that be
cursed of him shall be cut off.

23
 The steps of a
good
man are ordered by the L
ORD
: and he delighteth in his way.

24
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the L
ORD
upholdeth
him with
his hand.

25
 I have been young, and
now
am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26

He is
ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed
is
blessed.

27
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28
 For the L
ORD
loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Proverbs 10:5

5
 He that gathereth in summer
is
a wise son:
but
he that sleepeth in harvest
is
a son that causeth shame.

Leviticus 9:7–10:20

7
And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the L
ORD
commanded.

8
Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which
was
for himself.
9
And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put
it
upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar:
10
but the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the L
ORD
commanded Moses.
11
And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp.

12
And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar.
13
And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt
them
upon the altar.
14
And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt
them
upon the burnt offering on the altar.

15
And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which
was
the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.
16
And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner.
17
And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt
it
upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.

18
He slew also the bullock and the ram
for
a sacrifice of peace offerings, which
was
for the people: and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,
19
and the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth
the inwards,
and the kidneys, and the caul
above
the liver:
20
and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:
21
and the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved
for
a wave offering before the L
ORD
; as Moses commanded.

22
And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
23
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the L
ORD
appeared unto all the people.
24
And there came a fire out from before the L
ORD
, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat:
which
when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

10:
1
And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the L
ORD
, which he commanded them not.
2
And there went out fire from the L
ORD
, and devoured them, and they died before the L
ORD
.
3
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This
is it
that the L
ORD
spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

4
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
5
So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.

6
And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the L
ORD
hath kindled.
7
And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the L
ORD
is
upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

8
 And the L
ORD
spake unto Aaron, saying,
9
Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:
it shall be
a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10
 and that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
11
and that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the L
ORD
hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

12
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the L
ORD
made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it
is
most holy:
13
and ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it
is
thy due, and thy sons' due, of the sacrifices of the L
ORD
made by fire: for so I am commanded.
14
And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for
they be
thy due, and thy sons' due,
which
are given out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
15
The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave
it for
a wave offering before the L
ORD
; and it shall be thine, and thy sons' with thee, by a statute for ever; as the L
ORD
hath commanded.

16
And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron
which were
left
alive,
saying,
17
Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it
is
most holy, and
God
hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the L
ORD
?
18
Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy
place:
ye should indeed have eaten it in the holy
place,
as I commanded.

19
And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the L
ORD
; and such things have befallen me: and
if
I had eaten the sin offering today, should it have been accepted in the sight of the L
ORD
?
20
 And when Moses heard
that,
he was content.
