“Would I play with something so serious?”

“What’s his name?”

“That nigga named Terrance. I think he has something to do with that shit. I still have to get some more information.”

“From Cali?” KoKo said with great shock in her voice. She wanted to elude his perception.

“Yeah. But how you know he’s from Cali?”

“Nah, that nigga Terrance was at the club and I was wondering who he was, so I put a few bitches on him. Then I ran into him a few times and he tried to holla at me, but I’m on it.” She quickly tried to sell Night a story.

“Well, we need to put somebody on him.”

“Nah, I got this,” KoKo insisted.

“KoKo, we ain’t trying to get you in no bullshit.”

“I’m already deep in all this shit. And if he is the one responsible for killing Kayson, I need to get up close and personal and find out everything and everyone involved. And then at that point when he least expects it, I’ll take that muthafucka’s life.”

“KoKo, be careful. Kayson would never forgive me if I let something happen to you.”

“Don’t worry about me. The only one important here is little Quran and I promised him I would seek and destroy anyone involved in his father’s death. And my word is bond.”

“I’m going to head out and keep the trail on him.” Night stood up to leave.

“Yes. Do that. I want to know what he’s doing and who he’s doing it with. His father, mother, and child, his bitch and the whole fucking nine.” KoKo's first plan was to rob this nigga, but that would have to wait until she made him feel some medieval pain.

“What are you getting ready to do?” Night questioned.

“Get dressed. A bitch is about to go on the hunt.” KoKo got up and headed upstairs to strap up and hit the streets.

Night didn’t know she was already hip to who he was and what he was doing. She had hit the dude he was doing business with, which caused Terrance to go back to Cali. Within twenty-four hours, she had all the information she needed and was California bound.

Over the next couple of days, Night had confirmed that the nigga was involved and he was trying to find out how deep. KoKo revealed that she was close to Terrance and had found some shit out. She had that nigga in a trance, was getting ready to make a trip, and would settle all this shit.

“You need to be careful, KoK.”

“I’m good. I’m getting ready to take a trip out west and do some shit. I got a chick out there who I’m trying to put on my team, so I’m going to pay her a visit. I’ll be back in a couple of days.”

“You need to take somebody with you.”

“I am. My money and my nine.”

“Keep being a rebel without a cause.”

“I got it. If nothing else, you know Kayson trained me well. I got that nigga by the balls.”

Night looked at her and hoped she wasn’t slipping and falling in love with some nigga she’d just met.

KoKo went downstairs to give orders to the crew, and when she came back up, Night had left. She sat down, turned around in the chair, and re-lit her blunt. She had the strategy all set dealing with Terrance. She already had Wadoo on it and was making a trip to Cali. Her eyes were on his connections and she was getting ready to see what it was he was really doing in her city. And in order to do that, she would have to move on his turf and see what type of wolves he had howling. She never told Night everything because if she learned anything from Kayson it was this, 'you give a nigga what they need to know and let them find out what they want to know.'

Chapter 32

Shit don’t Look Right

KoKo landed at LAX airport and was picked up by Wadoo. He was this cat from Yonkers, who had moved out west and she and Kayson would use him to move guns back and forth from the east coast. Wadoo saw KoKo coming, jumped out the Lexus truck, and gave her a big hug, lifting her off her feet.

“What’s up, little sis?”

“Nothing much, just trying to handle some business.”

“You got bags?” he asked, looking behind her.

“No, real women just roll with plastic. You know where I want to go.”

“Rodeo,” he said with a tone of certainty.

“You already know.”

“You came out here to go broke?”

“Never that, just going to put a dent in it. You got my info?”

“You know it,” he said, proud of the shit he was able to come up with in the short time he had.

“Well, let’s take a ride and find somewhere to sit down and talk.” KoKo started walking to the car.

“You hungry?” Wadoo asked, headed to the driver’s side.

“Yeah, I could eat.”

“Let’s roll.”

They both hopped in the car and shut the door. Before they pulled off, he reached in the glove compartment, pulled out a gun and a blunt, and gave them to KoKo.

“Can you handle this good old Cali bud?”

“I’m about to find out.” KoKo pushed in the cigarette lighter as he pulled off.”

When they got to the restaurant, they sat down to eat and he told her where Terrance laid his head and where he did business. Also, the place where he was most of the time, which was Star’s house. He told her where Star went to school and gave her car make, model, and plate number. By the end of the meal, KoKo was turning the plan over in her head.

The way she saw it, she was going to make some moves that would get in those pockets while she was planning her next move. Wadoo cut into her thoughts.

“Oh yeah, that nigga inherited money from his mother. She set up a trust fund for him and before she got killed, it sat until last year so he just got about two million dollars.”

“Is that right?” She was salivating at the thought. “Thanks, big bruh.” KoKo slid a small stack of money toward him then put a hundred dollar bill up for the check. Wadoo looked at the stack and then slid it back to her.

“You trying to insult me?” he said with indignation.

“Nah, shit, it’s a fucking recession. It ain’t easy to pull in information on muthafuckas these days. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate it.”

He gave her a real serious look then KoKo grabbed the stack and he put his hand on top of hers and said, “Be careful. Niggas out here are real slippery. I can’t function if I know you’re out here and some shit happen to you.”

“Don’t worry, bruh, I got it. Drop a sista off on that strip so I can spend what you won’t take.” They headed out the restaurant and as they were leaving, a girl came up on them.

“So this is what you do when I can’t find your ass?”

He turned around and was shocked as hell. “Oh shit, Michelle, this is KoKo,” he said.

“What the fuck does that mean to me?” Michelle shot back.

“It better mean that you don’t want any problems with me,” KoKo said calmly.

“Look, I ain’t got time for this shit. I had a long day and then I walk up on you with some bitch.”

KoKo looked at Wadoo. He looked back like, please don’t. He knew how crazy KoKo was. So he grabbed Michelle, but it was too late.

“You see a bitch, you slap a bitch.” KoKo turned into the pit bull she was. Michelle snatched away from Wadoo and went at KoKo. As soon as she got close, KoKo gave her a short jab to the face and knocked her ass down. Michelle’s head snapped back as she hit the ground hard. Blood poured from her nose.

“Why you let this bitch hit me?” she yelled while trying to wipe her nose.

Wadoo tried to help her up off the ground, but KoKo grabbed his arm and said, “Nah, hold up. Let me educate this bitch first on who the fuck I am.”

Snatching a napkin off one of the outside tables, she pulled out her nine and covered it up. Putting it under her Michelle’s chin. The girl looked petrified. Wadoo didn’t interfere because he could tell KoKo was only going to give her a warning. Plus, he had been telling Michelle to chill out. So today was lesson number one.

“Look bitch, he told you I was KoKo. This man is like a brother to me so your dick ain’t in jeopardy. But if it were, you would never catch us out having a fucking meal. He would be somewhere tasting this luscious nectar then be going coal miner deep in this pussy until I say I don’t want no more. Now, the next time you see me, bitch, respect me, because the last muthafucka who called me a bitch is feeling real claustrophobic right now.”

Michelle’s eyes were glassy and her face pale. She looked like she had just seen a ghost. KoKo threw the napkin in her face, stood up, and looked at her like she was dirt. “You better be glad I’m on vacation or I would blow your gotdamn head off. Now get yourself together and I expect an apology.”

Michelle was scared as hell, her eyes got big as saucers, and she kept flinching every time KoKo moved. She took the napkin and began wiping her face. “Let’s roll, Wa. I got shit to do. You need to bench that bitch. She is definitely a liability.” KoKo went to the truck. Wadoo looked at Michelle and shook his head.

“I tried to tell your ass to calm down. I’ll catch you later,” he said.

“You’re just going to leave me here?” Michelle asked as she started to cry.

“Like she said, we got shit to do.” He walked off and didn’t look back.

As they approached the car, KoKo said, “That’s why Wahida Clark said, ‘Every thug needs a lady.’” They hopped in the car and pulled off. Within the hour, he dropped KoKo off on Rodeo Drive. She gave him some dap and then he pulled off. She headed straight for the pay phone and called Gwen, who was right in the area. Just as KoKo had instructed, she met her at the Gucci shop in minutes.

“Hey girl, it is good to see you.” Gwen came in the door in rare form and went over to where KoKo was trying on a pair of ‘fuck me’ pumps.

These muthafucka’s are definitely shoulder worthy. Her thoughts came to a halt by Gwen’s high-pitched voice. “What up, ma?” KoKo gave her a hug then sat back down.

“Is everything straight?” KoKo went straight to business

“Yes and I—”

KoKo cut her off, putting her finger up to her mouth. “Don’t talk business in the street.”

Gwen nodded in agreement and then grabbed a pair of shoes. They spent about an hour in that store then moved down the line. By the time they finished, KoKo was spent. They headed to a nearby hotel and checked in. KoKo had a package waiting on the bed. She had it sent so she could handle something.

“All right, thanks for helping a sista to her room. I will call you later. Be ready to pick me up when I call,” KoKo said to Gwen, looking at her like, you’re dismissed.

Gwen left thinking, that bitch is the truth; glad I’m friend not foe. The elevator came and took her to the lobby. She headed to her vehicle with the plan on her mind.

The Set Up

KoKo opened the package and started to smile. This is just what I ordered. She laid it out on the bed and headed for the shower. All oiled up, she slid on her outfit, grabbed her props and rolled out. Once downstairs, she jumped in a cab and headed to her next destination.

After putting on her game face while standing in the hallway, KoKo rang the buzzer. After a few minutes, she heard the door.

“Who?”

“Maintenance.”

She heard the locks clicking. When the door opened there stood Terrance shocked as hell. In his doorway, KoKo stood in a navy blue jumpsuit with a tag that read Pipe Works. KoKo looked up from her baseball cap and said in a sensual voice, “I heard they were laying good pipe up in here.”

A sneaky grin came over his face as he admired all of KoKo’s curves. He hadn’t seen her in over two weeks. It was like somebody brought a man on a desert a tall drink of water.

“Well, are you going to let me in or just stare at me?” KoKo asked, swishing past Terrance making sure his dick was greeted by her juicy ass. It worked because immediately his little friend stood up.
