Epilogue

Alicia was in the living room sitting on the floor playing with Fate when Calor came into the room.  He looked down at her.  "I have a surprise for you."

"As good as Fate?"  She scratched the puppy under her chin and was rewarded with a big sloppy kiss on her face. 

He laughed.  "Better.  Get dressed.  We're going to a party.  April, Erin, Amber, and
Jayn will all be there."

She jumped to her feet.  "Really?  I finally get to meet Amber and
Jayn?"

He nodded.  "Finally."  She'd only been in Texas for three months, and she acted like it had been forever. 

"Let me just change.  I'll be ready in fifteen minutes."

He sat down, tapping his foot, knowing it would take her much longer than fifteen minutes. 
It was worth the wait to see her face when she saw his surprise, though.  He knew she thought it was the party, but it wasn't.  It was so much more.  He couldn't wait to see her happy face.
