“She doesn’t scare me,” I tell him with a bite of authority, even though I don’t believe those words at all. She scares the shit out of me. I know I’m supposed to keep my enemies close and all that crap, but I don’t want her anywhere near me. In fact, if Josh and I could go live on a deserted island I’d be content. That would mean I’d be able to keep him all to myself.

“I won’t let her anywhere near you,” he says, reassuring me that I won’t have to deal with her. I’m not stupid, though. They run in the same social circles, attending the same parties and galas. Unless he’s intending on keeping me home, I’ll see her, and when she’s eyeing my husband I’ll be sure to flash my ring so she sees it every single time. It’s me who wears his ring, not her.

I know I sound petty and vindictive. I can’t help it. Right now I’m living this fairytale romance—one I never thought I’d have—and it would be foolish to think our lives are going to be perfect.

“Are you hungry?” he asks, nipping at my neck.

“A little.”

“For what?” Now he’s moved to my breast, pulling one of my nipples between his teeth.

“Well I know what you’re hungry for.”

“Always, my wife. All the fucking time; I want to be buried to the hilt inside of your pussy.” His words eat up my flesh, causing me to blush.

“I love how easily I can turn you on,” he says, sliding a finger between my folds. My eyes roll back in my head as I try to focus on him. “We are going to have an amazing sex life.”

“Is that so?”

Josh pushes the rest of the sheet off of us, exposing his hard on. He strokes it a few times and even as I watch him, I can feel his eyes roaming all over my body. I lick my lips in anticipation of what’s to come. A shiver goes through me as I picture myself sitting on top of him with my head thrown back in ecstasy. Sex with him is the one fantasy that he hasn’t left me disappointed. I had always imagined what it would be like with Josh and he’s delivered each and every time.

I straddle his lap and grab his shaft to guide him into my wet center. Slowly, I ease myself down onto him while his hands remain steady on my hips. My fingers dig into his abdomen as he closes his eyes and pushes his head back into his pillow.

“Don’t move yet,” he murmurs, meeting my gaze.

“Why not?” When I shimmy my hips, his hands clamp down, adding pressure to my hipbone.

“I just want this moment, so I can memorize you like this.”

“Like what?”

“The way you look right now with my dick buried deep inside of you with your pink flesh and your nipples peaked ready for my mouth.”

“Joshua Wilson, I never knew you were so damn dirty.” I rock my hips forward as his grip tightens.

“I never knew sex could be so empowering. You’re like the charge of electricity that I need to fucking live. I’ve never felt this way before.”

With his words I push his hands above his head and leave them there. I’m not strong enough to hold him down so I can only hope he complies with my silent request. Rising up to plant my feet on the bed and placing my hands on his stomach for leverage, I push myself off his erection, only to slide back down again.

“Fuck me.” He watches his dick move in and out of me. “This is the hottest thing I have ever seen.”

Even though I suspect otherwise, I’m choosing to believe him. I’m choosing to listen to everything he says when he tells me that he’s never felt like this.

My legs tire quickly, forcing me to change positions. I rock toward him, letting my breasts drag against his chest.

“Touch me,” I beg, needing to feel him.

“Fuck yes.” Sitting up, he immediately takes one breast in his mouth. He alternates between sucking and biting while his other hand disappears between us and his finger starts rubbing and pinching my clit.

“You’re so deep.” The words that tumble out of my mouth in a non-coherent sentence seem to spur him on because he shifts positions, pulls me down to his chest, and starts thrusting into me. I scream out as my orgasm rushes through my body, making me convulse with pleasure.

Josh grunts as his release finds him and his limbs go weak. We’re both still, too tired to move and unwilling to disengage from each other.

“I’ve just decided you can’t stay here or move back home while I’m filming.”

I laugh, causing his still somewhat erect penis to flex inside of me.

“Do that again, babe.”

I do this repeatedly until he starts moving slowly inside of me. The slow ministrations are welcomed and before I know it I’m flat on my back with my legs over his shoulders. Our releases are quick this time and feel more like aftershocks. It’s like we needed this extra bit to finish us both off.

He rolls off of me, pulling me into his side. “So like I was saying …”

“Yes, about me not staying here.”

“Yeah, you’re definitely coming to Alabama with me because there’s no way in hell I’m going to survive without being inside of you for that long.”

“You can survive without sex, Josh.”

Josh pops up onto his side, startling me. “Woman, do not make me hog-tie you and drag your ass to Alabama.”

“I’ve never been tied up,” I interject. He drops his head and groans, before looking at me again.

“Seriously, though, Joey. I don’t want us to be apart from each other. After a long day at work I want to come back to your arms and make love to you. We’ll rent a suite at a hotel, and while I’m working you can explore or take some of the local tours. When I’m not working, we’ll walk hand-in-hand while we sightsee and have a mini-honeymoon.”

“That’s what I wanted, too, Josh.”

“Then why didn’t you tell me?” he asks, cupping my cheek.

“I was afraid.”

He doesn’t ask of what because I’m sure he knows. Leaning forward, he kisses me softly, letting his lips linger against mine. “Never be afraid to tell me what you want. You’re my wife. My partner. After this movie and the next, every project I do will be a decision we’ll make together. Wherever I have to go, you’re always welcome.”

A small tear forms in the corner of my eye and he wipes it away. “You’re so beautiful, Joey. I tried to deny my feelings. I tried to fight every single one of them, but every touch, every kiss, and every time you would look at me it would chip away at my resolve. I thought I could kiss you and enjoy the days we were spending together, but every single one sealed our fate. There was no way I was leaving that house without you next to me.”

“But you did,” I stupidly remind him, ruining the moment.

“It’s a mistake I’ll never make again.”

While we dress for dinner, Josh gives me the rundown on what to expect. He says most of the paparazzi will be gone, having moved on to the next celebrity, but some will linger around, waiting for us to make another appearance.

He asked me from the get-go if I wanted to order room service or venture out and I chose the latter. Not because I don’t want to be holed up with my husband, but because I felt like if we didn’t leave we’d never eat any food, and we’re both famished. We need food in our systems, good food at that, and room service isn’t always reliable when it comes to quality.

I put on a simple blue dress with matching heels. It was hanging in the closet and Josh said the manager likely sent it up as a gift. It would be rude not to wear it. Josh dresses in relaxed jeans and a button down, rolling up his sleeves and showing off his arm-porn. He catches me licking my lips as he flexes absentmindedly.

“We can stay in,” he reminds me, causing me to avert my eyes.

“No, we need to eat and you know as well as I do if we stay here we’ll end up rolling around in our food and not eating it.”

Josh comes to stand behind me, nipping at my neck. “And what’s wrong with rolling around in a little chocolate pudding?”

“You’re insatiable.”

“I am, and it’s all your fault. I can’t get enough of you and I don’t want to share you with anyone else.” He grinds into my backside, showing me just how much my words ring true.

“Maybe we should go downstairs to the hotel restaurant. That way the manager will see that I’m wearing his gift. The last thing I want to do is upset him.”

“I like that idea. Being in good graces with hotel managers is beneficial to us, especially when we want to escape. Plus, that means if we stay in, there will be no paparazzi trying to take our picture. I really like that idea, Mrs. Wilson.”

My knees go weak when he refers to me as Mrs. Wilson. I lean my head back onto his shoulder, giving him ample space to continue his beautiful assault on my neck.

“If we’re living in L.A., would we really escape to a hotel?” I’ve read the tabloid reports before—celebrities coming in and out of hotels and calling it a getaway—but if you live there, why would you need to?

“Depending on what’s going on in your life, the media could be hounding you and sometimes you just want a break. Hotels offer security, seclusion, and other amenities you might not get at home. Most have state-of-the art gyms, spas, and other services.”

“I guess that makes sense.”

Josh stands behind me and we regard our reflections in the mirror. Aside from the obvious physical changes—like both our hair being longer and Josh sporting a nice scruff—we’re the same people that we were inside the house.

“I think I could look at you all day and never tire of it.”

“I think that would be creepy, but I’d still like it. That means our roles would be reversed. I will have gone from the stalker to the stalked,” I tell him, taking a jab at my own infatuation with him.

“President of
my
fan club, remember?” He winks, reminding me of the job title that he bestowed upon me in the house.

“Is this a paid position?” I ask, turning in his arms. I let my fingers drift along his cheekbones, tickling the pads of my fingers with his whiskers.

“You don’t have to work, Joey. I’ll take care of you. I already told you earlier that I want you to travel with me. I don’t want to be one of those couples that are separated by distance and plagued by rumors. If we’re together, we’re stronger than being apart.”

I hadn’t thought about not working, or needing to find a job in Los Angeles. His words give me a sense of relief all while making me feel happy. I want to be with him, and if that means living out of a hotel for however long it takes, so be it. As long as we’re together, I’ll be happy.

A
s we touch down at the Jack-Edwards Airport, I figure now is the best time to let her know that
Sweet Home Alabama
wasn’t exactly filmed here. That has to be one of the hardest parts as an actor when it comes to locations. You read a script and the writers’ notes tell you where the film is based, you get excited and look up what the town is like and try to picture yourself as your character walking down the street, only to find out you’re not actually filming there, but one or two states away because it’s cheaper and the tax credits are higher. In Hollywood it’s all about the most bang for your buck.
