4. Hit Blazes With Snowballs

Heading to the Nether? Hate Blazes? We all do. They're excruciatingly annoying especially when you're trying to collect a few resources at the Nether or head to a Nether Fortress. Every few steps you take is like an apocalypse. You get hit with fireballs from every angle, and it's all thanks to the Blaze.

Fighting them with a bow and arrow can be quite taxing on your resources. Instead you should use:

Snowballs!

All you have to do is hit the Blaze with a couple of snowballs and you're set! You can collect snow with a shovel in a snowy biome. Make sure to bring about two stacks of snowballs to have any chance of defeating thirty to forty Blazes in the Nether.

It's an unknown fact that Blazes hate snowballs so use this to your advantage. Snowballs can destroy Blazes and work just as good as any bow and arrow.

5. Cobblestone Prevents Ghast Attacks

Talking about Nether mobs, here is another way to prevent them from attacking you.

When you first enter the Nether, you will be fired fireballs from every corner by Ghasts and you will be in a hotbed of Nether mobs. That's why you should create a small cobblestone cabin before heading out to fight the Ghasts and get going on your journey through the Nether.

Ghasts are repelled by cobblestone and their fireballs don't impact cobblestone. This means you can get your resources ready such as snowballs (for Blazes), your bow and arrows, any armor you need and more. If you're a newbie and have just entered the Nether for the first time, you'll find it pretty daunting without an indestructible base that you can return to.

6. Build A "Zombie Blocker" Door

If you're tired of all the zombies that keep invading your house at night, you should seriously consider making a "zombie blocker" door. This door basically stops all zombies from breaking into your house by smashing down the door.

All you have to do is place a block on the area where you want to put the door, and then place the door above the block. The zombie has to break down the top of the door in order to break down the entire door, but since the top of the door is out of reach, they can't smash down the door.

Note: Zombies will only actually break the door down fully if you're in Hard mode. If you aren't they will try but they never will fully break it down so don't worry.

7. Use Water To Mow Your Lawn

Tired of all those pesky weeds surrounding your house? Trying to build a home but those annoying weeds are getting in the way?

By pouring water on the lawn, it will destroy any grass that grows on it. All you have to do is fill a bucket with water and then pour the water on the grass. This is a quick but super effective hack that will definitely speed up the grass destroying process. It's also a quick way to harvest a massive amount of wheat seeds all at once.

8. Infinite Water Source

Again, you might know this already, but if you're a complete newbie, here's a quick trick. If you are building a farm or need a ton of water and fast – it's going to be a real chore when you have to go back and forth to a river or sea and collect the water in buckets.

Instead, you should create an infinite water source close to your farm or building.

This water source consists of three blocks dug out, in a line. Place water in the second block with a bucket, then in the first block and finally the third block. The water should be still and not flow in any direction. Got that? It
was
a mouthful.

Then, get an empty bucket and take water from the middle/second block. Don't take it from the outermost blocks though, because the water will flow meaning it won't be infinite anymore. You can keep taking water from the middle block without the water ever disappearing.

9. Sprint On Ice

Whenever you head to a snowy biome that has a section frozen off in ice, you should sprint across it. It's a nifty lil' shortcut you can use that will definitely get you across the snowy biome a lot quicker. Heck, it's very difficult to cross the snowy biome anyway which is covered in mountains, dense foliage and a ton of trees.

Take the ice route instead.

Bonus:
If you sprint and jump at the same time, whilst on ice, you'll go even faster!

10. Defeat The Enderdragon With…Snowballs

Yep, you read it right. Just like Blazes, you can defeat and kill your ultimate enemy, the Enderdragon with snowballs. Sounds pretty weird! But it works!

So the next time you're thinking about defeating the Enderdragon, you should definitely bring a couple stacks of snowballs that you can use. It's a much better way to use up your resources and since snowballs are so easy to get, you won't feel bad wasting them all!

However, that doesn't mean that you can ONLY use snowballs to defeat the Enderdragon. Of course, you still have to fight it with the weapons and tools you have, but you can also use snowballs too.

11. Wear A Pumpkin, Stare At Endermen

Endermen are very irritating especially in the sense that whenever you stare at them, they vanish and reappear somewhere else (sometimes, behind you…*shudder*). That's why you should wear a pumpkin on your head. You'll usually find pumpkins on the tops of mountain tops and on the tops of extreme hills. After all the work it took to get up to the top, Mojang decided to reward you with some pumpkins and the occasional red rose if you're lucky. However, not all extreme hills have pumpkins, but you're more likely to find them there.

Once you've got a pumpkin, wear it on your head! Then, you can stare at the Enderman all you want and he can't do anything about it. He can't come near you.

12. Build Off The Sides of Torches

Torches are super handy, aren't they? Here’s another thing you can use torches for.

It's actually possible to build off the sides of torches. This is great when you want to build a roof which has a pyramid-like shape and want to create a sloping roof.

Simply place a torch on a block and then, place your desired block on the side of the torch. This involves hovering over the torch, until you see the grid box (a black outline around the torch) and then right click to place your desired block beside it.

This makes building a whole lot quicker. Instead of placing a block beside the block, and then a block on top of that, all you need is a torch and you can build off the side of it.
