“Now say goodbye to Ace, and to your baby bitch, you won’t see either every again,” She hisses out as she puts her finger on the trigger. I close my eyes. I hear the gun go off and I hear Porsche screaming at Blaze to get off of her, he gets on top of her knocking her out.

He looks up and sees me, his eyes widen, and his face turns to pure horror as he scrambles up off the floor, making his way to me. I feel so sleepy all of the sudden.

He’s talking to me, but I can’t make out what he’s saying, he’s holding my shoulder, “What’s wronggg?” I slur out as I look down, I see blood coating his hand from my shoulder.

“Alison, you’re going to be fine, I’m calling an ambulance now, stay with me.” He shouts as he brings his phone to his ear shouting out he needs an ambulance, he gives the address and mentions to the operator to send the police as well.

She shot me; she was really going to kill me. Please let my baby be okay. “My babyyy,” I say just before everything goes black.

Chapter 20

Viper comes in about twenty minutes after Alison leaves with a somber expression on his face. I wonder what happened. He grabs a chair and brings it to the side of the bed; he sits down sighing rubbing his face.
What the hell?

“What’s wrong?” I ask. Hoping nothing happened to Alison or the baby. I wouldn’t be able to go on without them; they’re the reason I’m fighting to get out of this hospital.

“I just found out that Mark was taken to this hospital. When I was walking by the nurses’ station I found out what room he’s in. So I decided to go check. Well…He went into a coma when he got here. The bleeding in his brain was so bad they couldn’t stop it… He died about ten minutes ago,” He says as he looks to me.

How does he want me to feel? Yes, I feel bad that he’s dead because of the fight, but am I really that sad he’s gone? No, I’m not. What he did to Alison he deserved what he got. He went after what’s mine, and he wasn’t going to get away with it no matter what.

“I don’t know what to tell you, man. I know it sucks that he died but you know what he did to Alison. There is no way in hell I was going to just sit there and let him get away with it. He almost raped her,” I growl out as my anger simmers under my skin.

“I understand man, I really do. But I’m just letting you know in case the cops show up here asking questions. He went after you first, pled self-defense,” I look toward the window in my room, closing my eyes. Thank God it’s over; we don’t have to deal with Mark ever again.

Alison will be able to live freely. She won’t have to worry that he will come around again. I can’t imagine what she went through.

“I’m just happy that’s it over. She doesn’t have to live in fear.” I coax out as I try to sit up a bit, but wince as I feel my stitches pull. Fuck that hurts.

Viper gets up from the chair, giving a nod he walks toward the door, just as he is about to walk out the door he turns. “I’ll be back in a few, I need fucking coffee.” He mumbles out as he leaves.  Can’t help but chuckle, that fucker is a caffeine addict.

I’m left alone for a few minutes till I hear a knock. I look up from my spot I see there’s a uniform officer and with a detective. Well, I guess they’re going to question me now since he’s dead.

“Come in.” My voice sounds calm and even. As they walk into the room. One of the officers stand in front of the bed as the other takes a seat in the chair that Viper was sitting in a before. The officer in the suit speaks first as he grabs his pen and pad of paper.

“Good afternoon Mr. Hawke. My name is Detective Martin. I have a few questions for you regarding Mark Hansson. We are aware that there was an altercation between the two of you this morning at ‘Joe’s Diner’.” The detective looks up at me from his note pad. Of course, there was an altercation. If there wasn’t I wouldn’t be in the fucking hospital, fucking morons.

I clear my throat as I look between the officers. “Yes there was, but I was not the one who started it. Mark came at me when we were outside. I defended myself. After he stabbed me, I punched him a few times to make sure he wouldn’t get up and possibly reach for a gun…Maybe shoot Alison or anyone else for that matter.” I exclaim as I look up at the door just as Viper comes walking in with coffee in hand.

“Good afternoon officers. How can I help you?” He asks as he looks between the both of them.

“Well, we were just questioning Mr. Hawke about what happened at ‘Joe’s Diner’. Mr. Hawke informed me that Mr. Hansson was the one who started the altercation.” The suit mentions, Viper nods his head.

“Yeah I was there. We were at the diner for a party because it was Alison’s last day of work. We wanted to give her a party because everyone just loves her,” Viper mentions as he comes to my side.

Detective Martin clears his throat before asking his next question. “Who is Alison and was she involved in this in away?” He asks as he writes in his pad.

“Alison is my fiancé and the mother of my child, she’s five months pregnant. Mark was her ex. He went nuts, made a huge scene at the diner. She has told him multiple times, they will never be together again, but it seems he didn’t want to take no for an answer.” I snap out quickly.

I look at the clock on the wall. Alison should be showing up soon. I need to get them out of here. I don’t want her to get stressed out by seeing the cops here, questioning me about Mark.

“Well gentlemen. It was a pleasure talking to you. If there’s anything else that comes up, just call me. My fiancé should be here in a bit. She’s been so stressed today so she went home to rest. She should be here any minute,” I give the officer a pointed look.

“So if you don’t mind, I don’t want her to know anything about this. It will just add to her stress.” I coax out praying they won’t say a word of this to Alison.

Detective Martin stands nodding his head. “Thank you for your time, Mr. Hawke,” He turns to leave.

“Am I in any trouble officers?” I ask just before they make it out of the room. Detective Martin turns to face me.

“No. As I can see it, it was self-defense. You shouldn’t worry about it. I will notify the parents of the deceased of the story as well.” He turns and leaves with the other officer in tow.

I let out a breath I was holding as they leave the room. Thank fuck. “See man, I told you self-defence,” Viper says with a crook smile, laughing at me.

“Fucker…” I mutter out as I wince from laughing. I can’t wait for this to heal and the stitches are gone, fuck it hurts when I laugh.

Viper and I are talking about what I plan to make for the baby. I want to make a wooden crib by hand with Vipers help of course. He’s the woodworking master at the club. I want it to be a surprise for Alison. I hope she will love it. I look at the clock on the wall. She should have been here a while ago. What is taking her so long?

“Alison should have been here by now,” I look at Viper, and he shrugs. Now I’m getting worried. I look up and see the same detective from earlier standing in the doorway with a gloomy expression. My gut twists as I look at him. “Mr. Hawke…” He clears his throat as he tries to speak.

“Alison?” I whisper softly not trusting my voice.

“Alison Murphy was taken in a while ago in an ambulance. She was shot in the shoulder by a Porsche Anderson. She’s in surgery as we speak. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mr. Hawke. Miss. Anderson is in a room being detained because of the injury to her head from a Mr. Bale.” He mentions as he leaves the room. I stare at the empty space in the door way, it feels like all the air was sucked out of the room. I’m fighting to breathe, my lungs not getting enough air as I panic.

No not Alison, please God no.
I try to get out of bed; Viper is standing beside me trying to get me to calm down.

“Get me a fucking wheelchair NOW. I need to see her,” I say as my breathing comes out in fast pants as I try to suck more air into my lungs.

“Ace man, calm down, I’ll go get a wheelchair. You don’t want to tear your stitches.” He leaves to fetch a chair for me. Hopefully, she gets out of surgery soon, and she and the baby are fine.

I’m going to fucking kill Porsche for this. Dumb bitch what the fuck was she thinking. A few minutes later Viper comes walking in pushing a wheelchair. Now, I’m going to pay a little visit to that bitch before I check on Alison. It’s not hard to not know where Porsche is, just look for a cop outside her down.

I head towards some rooms; I’m hoping one of them is Porsches room. But I stop short as I notice Detective Martin standing outside of I assume is her room. I wait until he leaves to make my way to her door.

I’m standing in front of the door. I take a deep breath trying to calm down, so I don’t end up killing her once I see her.

I open the door, I wheel myself in. I close the door behind me, her eyes snap open, and she smiles seductively at me. I notice she’s handcuffed to the bed.

My anger comes in full force seeing her. Knowing she’s the cause of why Alison is here in surgery. I’m done playing nice; this fucking idiot doesn’t get it. She makes Mark look like a fucking saint.

“Hey baby.” She holds her hand out to me.

I shake my head in disgust; she frowns as she takes in my expression. “What’s wrong baby? I took care of the problem that was keeping us apart,” She whines out. Just hearing her say that makes my blood boil.

“Listen here you stupid fucking
BITCH
! Stay the fuck away from Alison. You won’t have to worry about cops picking your ass up next time. It will be me burying you alive in the fucking ground, got it?” Her eyes widen shaking in fear as she stares at me.

“Bu…But baby, you love me. I know you do. Wwe…” I cut her off as I raise my hand.

“Don’t you fucking say another word, I don’t want you. Never have and never will. You were quick fuck here and there when I wanted it, nothing more. Stay away from my fucking family; you understand me?” I turn the wheelchair around and leave. She starts sobbing as I exit the room, I feel nothing. No pity, no guilt.

Once I’m out of her room, I see Viper standing down the hall talking to Detective Martin, well that’s my cue to leave. I wheel down the hall; as I get around the corner, I take a breather. I wait for Viper to head back this way.

“Did you do what you had to do?” Viper asks as he makes his way toward me.

“Yup, the bitch should stay away now,” I mention as he wheels me down the hall to the elevator to see if Alison is out of surgery.

Viper wheels me in front of the nurse’s station on the surgery floor. “Is Alison Murphy still in surgery?” I ask the nurse standing there looking down at patient forms. She looks up from the forms and looks me over then, then moves her gaze to Viper. She smiles wide.

“Umm… are you a family member?” She asks softly as she stares at Viper. I chuckle, seeing Viper get uneasy by the way she’s staring at him. He shifts his weight from side to side.

“Yes, I’m her fiancé. Hayden Hawke.”

“Oh, so does that mean your single?” She points at Viper, his eyes widen in surprise by her bold question. He shakes his head.

“Umm…sorry but I’m not single,” He mentions, she pouts at the news.

“Oh that’s too bad,” She looks at the computer.
What the fuck?
I’m here to find out information on Alison and this fucking nurse is here trying to get a date.
