SS:
Where are we getting benzene?

RB:
Unfortunately, benzene is rather ubiquitous; you get it from oil products. For instance, in the Gulf right now it was recently found there were high levels of benzene in the seafood. Also, an orange drink that was popular was found to have significant benzene levels. Plus they found high levels of benzene in a carrot juice used for infants. It is the young people who are at the greatest risk.

SS:
How could this be?

RB:
When you ultrapasteurize fruit juices, it converts things like beta-carotene, phenylalanine, and terpene into benzene. Also when you cook with foods that have aspartame in them, you produce high levels of benzene, which is linked to lymphoma.

SS:
Then we need to connect the dots … chemicals and their association to cancer.

RB:
Absolutely; for instance, there is more benzene in foods than anyone realizes because of the heating process and widespread use of aspartame. By people using and cooking with aspartame, they are producing not only the formaldehyde carcinogen but also benzene. Lymphoma has the fastest-growing incidence of any type of cancer in people under age thirty.

No one is paying attention to the literature showing this powerful connection and also the possible connection to the weed killer Roundup. These products, combined with many others used around most homes, produce a tremendous increase in hematologic malignancies like multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and leukemia.

SS:
And these weed killers have now created a new generation of superweeds and superbugs that have developed that are immune to this herbicide. Yet from lack of knowledge, people are deliberately consuming these foods and naively spraying these poisons around their homes. Tragically, the children play in these same yards, as well as their pets, and then bring that poison into their homes.

RB:
Yes, and as a result their bodies now contain high levels of carcinogenic chemicals that can persist for a lifetime. Pregnant women are walking in their neighborhoods where Roundup is routinely used,
as well as other pesticides, and they are breathing it in and absorbing it through their skin.

SS:
What will happen to their babies?

RB:
Clearly they are now exposed.

 
OF GREATEST CONCERN ARE NEWBORNS AND SMALL CHILDREN, NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE CANCER RISK BUT ALSO BECAUSE MANY OF THE COMMONLY USED CHEMICALS HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON BRAIN DEVELOPMENT AND FUNCTION. REMEMBER, THE HUMAN BRAIN UNDERGOES A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF DEVELOPMENT AFTER BIRTH UNTIL AGE TWO YEARS, AND SOME PARTS OF THE BRAIN (CONTROLLING HIGHER BRAIN FUNCTIONS) CONTINUE THEIR DEVELOPMENT UNTIL AGE TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS. THESE CHEMICALS CAN CAUSE ABNORMAL WIRING OF THE BRAIN AND TRIGGER CHRONIC BRAIN INFLAMMATION.
 
 

SS:
What is the effect of genetically modified (GM) foods on the human body?

RB:
There is an interesting Russian study in which researchers found after the third generation of consuming these GMOs [genetically modified organisms], test animals developed kidney problems, liver problems, adrenal problems, and heart failure from eating GM corn and soybeans. With the widespread use of Roundup, you are not only getting the effects of the GM soybeans, but you are also getting a lot more exposure to the Roundup itself. As weeds become resistant to this pesticide, farmers are forced to use even more of it. So it’s a triple threat. The plants have higher levels of pesticide contamination, as does the atmosphere from the vaporization of these massive amounts, in addition to the harmful effects of the GM plants themselves.

In my studies from looking at what we know about Roundup, it’s a potentially powerful inducer of lymphomas and leukemias. This is being ignored because of the massive money made by Monsanto, the maker and leader in the industry of GM foods. European countries won’t use any GM foods or seeds. Africa tried to resist it, but
the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund used their power of the purse to force them to accept it.

SS:
And we do know the United States is saturated with Roundup. I read that 90 percent of all corn is genetically modified, and 80 to 90 percent of soy is genetically modified.

RB:
Plus a lot of the rice; it’s quite tragic. More and more of our crops are ending up genetically modified, and of course legislators get legislation passed that doesn’t require labeling of GM foods, so no one knows when they are eating it. In addition, once the foods are contaminated, there is no way to restore what has been lost—that is, natural foods.

SS:
Unless you are buying organic.

RB:
Correct, but so much of what people are consuming today are processed foods, and most all processed foods have soy flour in them so it’s almost impossible to avoid GM soy if you are going to eat processed foods.

SS:
And please tell my readers about the realities of soy, which has been sold as a healthy food to consumers.

RB:
Soy, even in a natural state, is not a good thing to eat. It’s very high in fluoride, manganese, and glutamate. It’s always been considered something that is not good for human consumption—until a massive propaganda campaign by the industry. They have figured out how to use it with clever processing methods, for example, soy milk; and then to add insult to injury, they’ve sold soy as a breast cancer preventative and a generally healthy food choice.

SS:
And women think, If a little soy is good, then a lot is better?

RB:
Yes, so they are buying soy in all different forms. Over half the children born in this country are drinking a formula rather than breast milk and most of it is soy formula and these babies are getting, in my view and others, brain toxic levels of manganese. This has been published in major pediatric journals.

SS:
I’m a little confused; manganese is a mineral that is good for us, right?

RB:
Only in trace amounts. It’s extremely brain toxic in higher amounts as in the amounts found in soy, so if you are drinking soy milk and particularly if you are giving it to babies, it has high enough levels to produce brain damage. Then if you are combining it with fluoride (through drinking water and the soy itself) and glutamate (a powerful brain toxic chemical), which is also found in the soy and
many processed foods, you are greatly compounding the toxicity to many organs, especially the brain.

SS:
Our poor babies. At present they are already born with 287 different toxins, 180 common to all of them.

RB:
It’s pervasive. Even people in the North Pole have been found to have large numbers of these pesticides and herbicides in their bodies, plus industrial solvent residues in their tissues. Babies get it passed through the mothers’ placenta. When researchers biopsy the fat from the breast tissue or abdominal fat of women, they find hundreds of these compounds, known carcinogens and known neurotoxins. They damage the brain and particularly the developing brain.

SS:
But no one is telling the mothers. It’s the biggest-held secret in the United States. And when it comes to people’s homes, no one wants a single insect, so they have the exterminator come in and regularly service their houses. Factor in having a child born into this environment that’s virtually saturated with these carcinogenic chemicals, and the result is an explosion of damaged livers and immune systems.

RB:
Yes, and many of these pesticides are known to also produce autoimmune diseases. In addition, many produce abnormal development of the brain. We are saturating ourselves to the point where it’s seriously impacting health. We are seeing a rise in all kinds of cancers and neurological degenerative diseases. Studies show that vaccines do not cause brain damage or autism and that the autism groups made a mistake saying it was because of the mercury, which is a neurotoxin, but even if you remove the mercury from a vaccine, you will still get the same effect. There are also other toxins that are a bigger problem in vaccines than mercury, like aluminum. But the fact is that all these toxins are stimulating immunity excessively. Our children are being given six or seven vaccines during a single office visit, and this is very damaging to a developing brain.

If you gave the same thing proportionately to an adult, which would be around thirty-six to fifty vaccines, no adult could tolerate it. You’d be so sick, you’d think you were dying, plus you would risk developing all sorts of things like MS and other serious autoimmune disorders. You wouldn’t be able to think, your joints would ache, and your body would break down. So no adult would ever accept getting that many vaccines in one office visit, yet that’s what we do to children every day in this country. Several studies have shown that
the vaccination process soon after birth can dramatically increase the sensitivity to exposure to a pesticide later in life. We call this
microglial priming
. This could increase the child’s risk of developing a disease, such as Parkinson’s disease, at an earlier age. It can also increase the child’s sensitivity to the toxic effects of exposure later in life to illicit drugs, such as cocaine and methamphetamine.

SS:
And the children are already toxic from all the other chemicals plus fluoride and soy formula, then add in dioxins and phthalates from plastic baby bottles and it’s a recipe for disaster.

RB:
Exactly, plastics are leaking out BPA and other toxins, and these are endocrine disrupters. We are seeing an explosion of thyroid dysfunction in this country from plastics, pesticides, and fluoride—all known thyroid disrupters. In our research, we know that if you have reduced thyroid function, it is the leading cause of elevated cholesterol. Textbooks will tell you that.

SS:
But people can take a statin. All the doctors know that! [Laughs.]

RB:
Well, that’s the craziness of all this kind of modern, so-called evidence-based medicine. They sell the patients a drug, a statin, when all you have to do is get them off the endocrine disrupters and get the thyroid functioning again. In addition, there are many ways to naturally reduce your risk of a heart attack or stroke that far exceed the efficacy and safety of statin drugs.

SS:
Interesting. I was on a major news show last year and the newscaster and I were discussing vitamins and supplements (he thinks they should be government controlled), and he lashed out at me over red yeast rice, saying that it raised his liver enzymes so he went back on Lipitor. I looked at him and all his apparent low-thyroid symptoms—missing the outer third of his eyebrows, sagging skin on his face, poor coloring, thick through his abdominal region—and I realized just how “off” today’s medicine can be even for people like this successful man who thinks he is paying for the best advice. I’m sure no one connected the dots to realize that most likely he didn’t need cholesterol-lowering drugs but that his thyroid needed attention.

RB:
He would be better off checking his T3 and T4, putting reverse osmosis filters on all his water faucets, getting off Lipitor, finding out why his enzymes were elevated, and eliminating chemicals from his life.

A researcher named Dr. Beatrice Golomb did a comprehensive review
of the side effects of statins, and it is very extensive. Everything from memory loss, brain dysfunction, increased cancer rates, peripheral neuropathy, and increased risk of ALS (a highly fatal disease) are all conditions caused by taking a statin and the effects are devastating. It gets crazier; now many doctors are urging nearly all forty-year-old men to take a statin. The fact that a person with normal cholesterol would get on statins is insane. Manufacturers of statin drugs even suggest putting statins in the drinking water, which is frightening because statins are also a powerful immune suppressor. If you have over two hundred million people in this country regularly taking statins, including children, for a lifetime, that means they are immune suppressed for a lifetime. They are going to catch every cold, virus, and bacteria; and they will have difficulty overcoming these infections plus have a high rate of cancer. Early observations with statins are that they increased the cancer rate because they suppress immunity. Yet, I suppose the manufacturers feel this will justify even more vaccine recommendations.
