By dulling down people, we won’t be paying attention to what the elites are doing. Look at how people are ignoring fluoride, formaldehyde, and pesticides, herbicides, and GM food. People have their heads in the sand about toxins in general, and look what is happening. Sickness is everywhere. Cancer is soon to be the biggest killer in the world; the number of autoimmune diseases are climbing drastically; and debilitating conditions not only abound but are occurring at an earlier age. When traditional medicine practitioners are asked why? they just shrug their shoulders.
SS:
I say this over and over … connect the dots. But you think this is a sinister plot?
RB:
I think the original idea has gotten out of control and now we are all at risk. It’s really all a matter of worldview. Historian Eric Voegelin has shown that the idea that has captured the world is one that sees a handful of elites as the ones who should design society and move people about as if they were chess pieces. This worldview began as gnosticism. The great mass murders of the twentieth century were engineered by men who held this worldview—Lenin, Marx, Hitler, Mussolini, and Mao. Others were less bold and carried this idea out much more subtly and with a scientific flair. Most people I speak with don’t want to know the realities of what is really going on. They just want to play tennis, watch sports events, and play with their electronic devices.
SS:
Okay. So what should we do?
RB:
Here’s the reality: Supplementation alone is not the basis of good health; it is diet and exercise that matter most. Supplementation can improve the odds if there exists a severe deficiency, or if
one’s underlying problem is inflammation. You have to build your health on a good foundation. Your foundation is a good clean life:
• Make good friends.
• Concentrate on your spiritual life.
• Engage in regular exercise.
• Do mental exercises.
• Try to eat organic foods.
• Avoid the major toxins.
• Cut down omega-6 fats dramatically.
• Increase your omega-3 fats substantially.
• Consume meats from animals that are fed grasses and have no antibiotics or growth hormones.
If you do all this, you will return to times when people lived a very long life.
SS:
Can we live a long time and still have a brain that is working well? After all, you are a brain scientist. You would know.
RB:
There are actual studies that show once you reach age ninety-two, your body doesn’t age anymore. The brain will last if you follow the basics: don’t drink to excess, don’t smoke, try to keep your spirits up, and keep a strong family and good friendships. Most elderly today look terrible; they are incredibly frail, they have thin, transparent skin, broken and bruised, with red watery eyes. So even though we have medicines and technology that can force them to live longer, they become very frail quite early in life and as a result, they are chronically ill. The human brain has the potential to work efficiently well past the age of one hundred.
SS:
And of course supplementation is important?
RB:
Yes, as part of the program, to handle the toxic burden and aging in general, your body needs more than it can get from diet only. You want to take higher doses of vitamin C. I generally recommend 1,000 mg three times a day taken between meals, so as to prevent excessive iron absorption.
SS:
That’s a lot.
RB:
Vitamin C is a potent stimulant for absorption of iron. As you age your body accumulates iron, which is a powerful generator of free radicals. Iron also plays a major role in cancer development and degeneration of tissues. You don’t want to increase your iron absorption,
which is why it is important to take the vitamin C between meals. This is well researched.
I also recommend two kinds of vitamin E as a mixed tocopherol with a high gamma E component. Tocopherol is what vitamin E is made of and it has four components: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Tocopherol is a chemical name. Gamma is the only one that’s been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Tocotrienol is also part of vitamin E and it has four different parts: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Tocotrienol is a very potent cancer inhibitor and protector of the brain. So if you take both, it’s important to take them at different times of the day. The usual dose of mixed tocopherols is 400 IU twice a day and 50 mg to 100 mg of the mixed tocotrienols.

, 10,000 IU daily, has also shown to be life extending for some cancer patients. When researchers looked at cancer patients, many of them had very low vitamin D

levels, and in particular patients with the worst kind of brain cancer, glioblastoma, yet a number of the people in this study lived three to five years after their diagnosis, which is significant. Then there’s curcumin, 500 mg to 1,000 mg three times a day. This is an extract of turmeric and has a profound effect on inhibiting cancer. It is a powerful antioxidant, and the actual level needed to protect the brain is very small, which includes protection from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. One of the major problems is the poor absorption of curcumin from the gut. Dissolving curcumin in olive oil increases the absorption capabilities, and several brands of high absorption are available—such as the Super Bio-Curcumin from the Life Extension Foundation.
SS:
I take turmeric, mixed with olive oil, and rub it all over chicken and then roast or bake it and it makes the most delicious-tasting chicken.
RB:
If you prefer to take it as a liquid or to mix it with your food, mix one tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil with 500 mg to 1,000 mg
of curcumin. Take it three times a day. Curcumin stimulates emptying of the gallbladder and is a very powerful protector of the liver. It also stimulates detoxification enzymes in the liver. It is being extensively tested against a number of cancers, including pancreatic cancer, and the results are dramatic.
SS:
Cancer doctor Nick Gonzalez is a big proponent of olive oil to stimulate emptying of the gallbladder and protecting the liver. Can you substitute turmeric in olive oil and get the same results?
RB:
Curcumin is the active component in turmeric. The spice turmeric itself contains only about 6 percent to 8 percent curcumin. It’s a remarkable supplement. People are living longer and Alzheimer’s is a big concern. Curcumin supplements are protective, but they also interact with other important supplements to enhance their effectiveness; for example, as with resveratrol, quercetin, ellagic acid. Together, they are quite potent.
SS:
Curcumin is also an inhibitor for something called mTOR. What is mTOR?
RB:
This is what we call a
cell-signaling molecule
, whose job it is to transfer information inside cells—like a messenger service. This molecule, mTOR, which stands for “mammalian target of rapamycin,” regulates protein synthesis.
If mTOR is overactive, you won’t live very long. If you inhibit it, you not only inhibit cancer but will live much longer. So this simple supplement protects against cancer and lengthens life span. Curcumin targets cancer cells, and like a magic bullet it causes cancer cells to die but protects against cell damage caused by chemotherapy.
SS:
That is an incredible statement. What drug can do that?
RB:
None that I am aware of. If a patient is taking chemotherapy, it dramatically improves the effectiveness of the chemotherapy while at the same time protecting normal cells and tissues from chemo damage. It also protects the brain from chemotherapy damage.
I have a doctor friend whose wife had stage IV breast cancer. It had spread to her bones, liver, and elsewhere. Her oncologist said she wouldn’t live but a few months at best. Her husband, a cancer researcher, put her on curcumin, high concentrations, and it’s been fifteen years, she’s alive and doing well. She stopped the chemotherapy also.
SS:
Well, you suggested curcumin to my girlfriend, Susie, who has lung cancer and I notice she has no brain loss at all; sharp as a tack. We both agree the curcumin was vital.
RB:
Anyone having radiation would also be well protected from damage by taking curcumin. This is especially important if you insist on getting yearly mammograms or you require diagnostic x-rays or a CT scan.
SS:
A lot of my friends are being diagnosed with breast cancer, mostly DCIS. What do you think is causing it?
RB:
Most likely pesticides and industrial chemicals; it could also be from their makeup, which has parabens, benzene, toluene, and other carcinogens. A lot of those chemicals get concentrated in the breast ductal tissues because special enzymes concentrate these toxins to dangerous levels locally. Also, women need to understand that cancer loves sugar.
SS:
That’s a problem for menopausal women because low estrogen makes you crave sugar.
RB:
Yes, and it’s difficult to make people understand that cancer will starve to death if you have no sugar of any kind in your diet.
I recently found a case report in a medical journal of a man with an advanced pancreatic cancer. After a short time on curcumin, one of the man’s tumors shrunk 75 percent. As long as the patient stayed on curcumin, the tumor did not grow. What is interesting about this is that he was receiving a small dose because they didn’t use olive oil to enhance absorption. So if it was that powerful against pancreatic cancer in a small dose, imagine if it was used with olive oil to enhance absorption. Researchers found that curcumin protects against every kind of cancer they’ve tested: the leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myelomas, and pancreatic, breast, and brain cancers.
The third important thing to know is that once you develop cancer, you must avoid all glutamate, which includes MSG. Most processed foods contain some form of hidden glutamate, such as caseinate, natural flavoring, hydrolyzed protein, soy protein isolate, autolyzed yeast, et cetera. Tumors have extensive glutamate receptors on their membranes, and studies have shown that glutamate stimulates the growth, and even more important, the invasion of the cancer. If you deny the tumor glutamate, its growth is significantly slowed.
SS:
What foods have glutamates?
RB:
Red meats. It doesn’t matter if it is grass fed or not, plus the iron in red meat is a potent stimulus for cancer growth. Some designers of cancer treatments have used iron chelators with great effectiveness against cancer. It binds the iron so the cancer can’t use it.
Curcumin also binds iron in tissues so cancers can’t use it to grow, but allows you to have normal functional use of your iron.
SS:
What other foods?
RB:
You’ll be surprised to know, tomatoes. If you pureed a tomato, it releases a fair amount of glutamate; also soybeans and mushrooms—portobello and mushrooms in general have a lot of glutamate. That’s why they taste so good, so you have to avoid them if you don’t want to stimulate your cancer’s growth and invasion. Cheeses also have a lot of glutamate, especially Parmesan cheese. Soy, as stated earlier, also has relatively high glutamate content.
SS:
But again, women feel soy is cancer protective.
RB:
Studies have found that soy makes breast cancer grow faster because it is a powerful stimulant for aromatase, an enzyme that stimulates cancer growth. Also, the glutamate and the fluoride in the soy stimulate cancer growth.
SS:
Does that include soy sauce?
RB:
Yes. Soy sauce is also extremely high in glutamate.
SS:
It’s a bummer about tomatoes.
RB:
A whole tomato is fine, because if you eat a whole tomato, it releases the glutamate very slowly and most of it is used up by your muscles.
Again, curcumin is the best protection of all for cancer as it inhibits cancer at every stage; it’s a powerful preventive. If you take curcumin, quercetin, ellagic acid, and resveratrol and avoid sugar, your chance of developing cancer falls dramatically. And if you do develop cancer, it’s going to be a lot more benign than if you eat a typical Western diet. What people don’t realize is that they can change the aggressiveness of cancer through these powerful supplements.
If a patient continues to have a bad diet and consume a lot of omega-6 fats, he or she will stimulate a very aggressive cancer.
Diet does make a difference, but you never hear oncologists talk about nutrition. When I was in medical school and residency training, nutrition was never part of any protocol.
SS:
Up until I began with alternative Western doctors, I never once in all my life had a doctor advise me about nutrition. Okay, let’s talk about the obesity epidemic and health.
RB:
I am absolutely convinced that obesity is due to the high level of excitotoxin additives in foods, particularly when fed to small children. These chemicals produce lesions in the brain that in lab animals produce gross obesity and metabolic syndrome. Until adults stop
feeding children soy products and the high level of glutamates found in other foods, we will be plagued by this obesity problem. I strongly suggest getting rid of high fructose corn syrup as well. I would also reduce the massive sugar intake seen today among our youth, which greatly compounds the obesity caused by glutamate. Feeding animals glutamate makes them prefer high-carbohydrate diets and sugar. I would encourage children to eat healthier food. The problem is that these poorly nutritious foods are full of glutamates (which taste scrumptious) and sugar and that’s all kids want once they taste it.
