Lyon’s The Next Generation Catalina

“Anthony I’m not sure about this.” I looked back at her with all the love I’ve always held for her shining in my eyes. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give up for her, nothing she couldn’t ask of me. But this, this was in my blood. It was almost as if something was calling me to it.

“Come here.” I opened my arms and pulled her in close when she walked into them. “It’s going to be okay I promise.” I kissed her tiny little head and held her delicate form close to my heart.

“Boy what the fuck?” I rolled my eyes over her head at the newcomer as she sniffled into my chest, seconds before dad took her out of my arms.

“Why is your mother crying what did you do? Come on Derry quit it.” She rubbed her runny nose in his shirt and made me grin. I’d seen her do that a thousand times and he always said the same thing. “Fuck babe, that’s nasty damn.”

“I didn’t do anything dad. It’s time for me to go and she won’t let me leave.” She’d been blocking my way for a good half an hour doing her best to change my mind. I’d only been home a short while after being away at school for fucking ever. Now I planned to take at least a year off and do some travelling before settling into the lucrative position I’d been offered at one of the nation’s best research hospitals.

It wasn’t the travelling that was bothering her, it was the fact that I planned to do it on the custom made bike I was on my way to pick up.

Catalina Lyon. More trouble than I had time for-for two reasons. One, I’m too busy to deal with her ass right now, and two, her old man is a hardass. Add the fact that I’m a good seven years older than she is and I’m already dead in the water. But I want it, I want it bad. I must be fucked in the head.

“You still here?” See what I mean? I didn’t answer her, just gave her the look that I noticed makes her twitchy. I’d met her for the first time only two months ago when I came to her dad about a custom made bike. I remember it like it was yesterday, that jolt in my gut. I was only supposed to be riding through, put some money down on my new ride and be gone. One look at her and I changed my plans.

Two minutes after meeting her, I knew. She was Derry all over. I guess it’s true what they say. Boys marry women who are just like their mother. She was the first person I called. Even before I’d made my intentions known to Ms. Catalina, I’d called mom and given her the news. ‘mom I met my girl today’. She didn’t ask any questions, she didn’t have to. I’ve had women before, I started young. But I’ve never introduced anyone to her as my girl.

Of course she wanted me to bring her home. I guess I forgot to mention that the girl in question was a hardheaded pain in the ass and her dad would bury my ass somewhere between here and home if I made the wrong move.

Now she was doing her blushing shit and trying not to move. Too late; she’d already let me see her weakness days ago. “Yes I’m still here, I’m waiting for you.” Here comes the attitude. She has a point to prove ever since I challenged her about working on my ride. She might be her dad’s newest secret weapon when it comes to building bikes, but I don’t take chances with my shit.

“Look, I told you it will be ready when it’s ready don’t rush me or you can go buy one off the showroom in the big city. If you want a bullshit piece a crap that looks pretty on the outside, but really has no substance.” Now she’s giving me her ‘got you’ look. She likes hitting me with zingers. This was her way of calling my a pretty idiot, which she’s done a time or two since she went into heat. Poor thing, she’s never had to deal with her feelings before. I think before I stepped into her life she fancied herself one of the guys.

I didn’t come right out and ask, I value my life and this wasn’t my backyard. So I’d watched and listened and learned. She was the second daughter in a family of nine, five girls and four boys. I knew if I showed my hand too soon the Lyon men would shoot me down without a thought. They seemed to think their females were off limits, at least the younger ones. The eldest daughter was already married with a couple kids under her belt.

I’d also learned that this was something she did on the weekends only on her father’s orders. The rest of the time she was studying to be what I already am, though she doesn’t know it.

As far as she knows I’m just a tattooed thug with more money than brains. Which is what I overheard her say to one of her siblings.

“Mengele where…something I can do for you Stanton?” The great man himself entered the shop and gave me ‘the look’, and though I have the utmost respect for the man, he was gonna lose this one. I gave him what my mom calls the devil’s smirk before motioning with the slightest movement of my head that we needed to go somewhere and talk.
