Tres Zapotes, Mexico
[Si].
An Olmec ceremonial centre in the Tuxtla Mountains of southern Vera Cruz believed to have been occupied in the period 1000–600 bc. Excavations by Matthew Stirling from 1938 to 1946 have shown that Tres Zapotes came to prominence after La Venta was destroyed.
