His kisses trailed down her neck as his body pressed against her. She could feel through the tiny layer of clothing the effect she had on him. He wanted her just as much as she wanted him.

“Ok,” she whispered, barely able to speak, her heart pounding in her chest.

He stopped and held her head in his hands, his thumbs caressing her cheek. “Are you sure? I don’t want to do anything you’re not comfortable with.”

“I’m sure.” Stella knew that it if all they had was tonight then that was enough. She didn’t want a relationship, didn’t want the commitment. What harm could one night do anyway?

Still holding her he leant forward and kissed her once, she felt her body mould against him as he walked her forward towards the bed. She felt her knees hit the side of the bed. Tristan, still holding onto her face with one hand and his other holding onto her waist lowered her onto the bed, their lips never leaving each other’s. She used her hands to shuffle herself to the head of the bead, her head resting on the pillows. Tristan followed her movements, his body on top of her, his lips pressing more intensely. Stella felt her body aching for his
touch,
a small moan came from the back of her throat. She had never felt the need to be with someone so powerfully.

She felt his lips leave hers and trail down her neck to her shoulder. He pulled her bra strap down as he kissed her down her neck and where the strap had been. His embrace continued down her chest, Stella’s hands traced through Tristan’s damp hair. She drew in a deep breath as his mouth kissed the top of her breasts, his hand reaching behind her back to unclasp her bra.

He pulled back looking at her, making sure she knew exactly what he planned on doing. He slid her bra down one strap at a time, and then lightly pulled it away exposing her beautiful breasts. He paused for a moment, then leant down and gently kissed them. His hand tracing over her other breast, she felt her body arch towards his, letting out a soft groan.

His kisses moved down slowly, tracing the curves of her stomach, her body automatically arching to push against his contact. Her hands gripped the sheets at her side, sensation filled her body. He stopped momentarily, glancing back up at Stella looking for permission. She nodded as he slowly pulled down her underwear, grazing her leg with his fingertips, sending chills through Stella’s body.

He moved his body up now as he leaned next to Stella’s side, he kissed her lips as she felt his hand softly gliding up her thighs. She held her breath as his hand stopped between her thighs. He gently stroked her
there
. She moaned, forgetting what it was like to have a man touch her like that. She leaned up reaching for his mouth, kissing him passionately. She felt lost in a dream, her body floating above her as he did wonderful things to her. Her head dropped back on the pillow, she pushed her hips towards his hand, meeting his movement.

“Tristan,” she groaned. She felt his hand leave her as he brought her in for a deep kiss.

He immediately stopped. “Stella, I don’t have any protection with me.”

“It’s ok. I’m on birth control,” she reassured him, wanting nothing to stop him for even a second. She had been on the pill for years, even though she hadn’t slept with anyone or planned on sleeping with anyone for a while, she made sure she was always prepared for the unexpected.

He wasted no more time as he took her in another embrace. She felt his other hand pulling his pants down, he was over her now. He pulled her leg up gently and pushed himself inside her slowly. She moaned. The sensation overwhelmed her; she wanted time to stand still. Stop in the perfection of the moment. They locked their gaze on each other as she felt her body tensing, her climax coming. He moved faster and harder, for what seemed like moments suspended in time. She couldn’t control the feeling any longer, it came over her. “Tristan…” she moaned. Tristan held her tightly, kissing her lips with force while they both found their release, his breathing fast and intense.

He looked into her eyes as their breathing
slowed,
taking in what had just passed. When he moved to
lay
next to her, she turned her body so her legs wrapped around him, her hand resting on his chest. She closed her eyes, focusing on her breathing slowing down as she drifted off into a deep sleep.

Tristan’s eyes were transfixed on Stella. She had the white bed sheet wrapped over, just enough to cover her naked body. She was lying on her side facing Tristan sleeping soundly. The morning light touched her glowing skin, she was true beauty. She looked so peaceful sleeping, her head resting gently on the pillow, her hair hang loosely around her face. He knew it sounded cliché, but she looked like an angel from heaven.

He didn’t get much sleep that night, he could only think about her. He’d been with other women before, but had never felt the feelings like the ones he had for Stella. These feelings were so new to him, he wanted to hold her and be with her forever. But he feared the truth about him would turn her away. She had to know who he was; it wouldn’t be fair to their relationship, if there even was one. He wanted to believe they had a relationship, but ultimately it would be her decision and he knew that he should have told her earlier who he was, before he let things go as far as they did. But he craved her, he needed her. He only prayed she would forgive him for not telling her sooner.

Stella woke with a tingling feeling down her arm. She opened her eyes slowly, Tristan coming into her vision, his hand gently gliding over her exposed arm. He looked even more handsome than last night, she wondered if it was even possible for him to look bad.
Unlikely
.
She smiled at the thought.

“Good morning,” he said, gently kissing her forehead

“Morning,” she replied, stretching out her body. “What time is it?”

“Nearly six.”

She gave a small growl, stretching her legs beneath the sheets. She would have to be up ready for work soon.

“What’s wrong?” he asked with a concerned look on his face.

“Nothing.
I just have to get ready for work soon, and that’s the last thing I feel like doing.”
Especially with you half naked in my bed
, she silently thought. “Why are you awake anyway?”

“I have to go back to my room
soon,
Ben doesn’t know I left last night. He is probably having a heart attack right now.”

“Is Ben your brother or something?”

“No,” he gave a small laugh.
“Although he feels like it.
No, Ben’s my agent.”

“Oh.” Stella sounded surprised.
“Agent for what?”

He took a deep breath, whatever he was trying to say, he was finding it hard to find the words. “I’m a singer Stella.”

She looked even more confused. “And… I’m assuming that’s a good thing Tristan?”

“Kind of.”
His face was strained. He looked hurt. “I’m a famous singer Stella. Have you ever heard of me, Tristan
Woods.

The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t quite pick why. “I don’t think so…”

He gave a sigh then started to sing in the most saintly way,
“It wasn’t up to you to decide for me to leave. I wanted to stay, and I needed you. I needed our love…”
He had the most incredible
voice,
it was nothing like she’d ever heard before. She recognised the song, she had heard it on the radio, and she was sure Claire had played it before.

“I recognise that song,” she said slowly, realising what it meant. What last night meant.

“I’m sorry Stella. I should have told you from the beginning who I was. I wish I could stay with you, but I have to get back.” He handed her a piece of paper. “Here is my number. I want to see you again Stella, but you need to decide for yourself if you want to see me again. My life isn’t like others. Our relationship wouldn’t be a typical one. But I’m willing to make it work Stella.”

Relationship?
Stella turned over the word in her head as Tristan leant down and kissed her one last time. She felt the same sensations like the night before. But before she could relive her feelings, Tristan pulled away. He pulled himself off the bed, grabbing his shirt, still wet from the night before, and flung it over his shoulder.

“I
gotta
go, but call me Stella, please,” he pleaded.

She nodded giving a half-hearted smile, not knowing what she should say. She went into this with the notion they would only have that one night, no more. No relationship, no complications. Yet when Tristan had said the word relationship she found herself wanting one, one with him. Stella’s last relationship was four years ago. She had been with guys since, but never wanted anything more than a fling. She didn’t want a relationship, didn’t want anything serious. As she watched Tristan walk out the door she tried to think through what just happened.

She was puzzled by his confession. He was a famous singer, but that’s all she knew, that’s all she had to go off. She decided she needed to find out more information about
him,
she quickly jumped up and grabbed her laptop from the chest of drawers. She sat back down on the bed, keeping herself wrapped in her sheet. She opened the laptop and waited for it to turn on. Why had Tristan been so concerned with her knowing who he was? Was he really that famous? She wouldn’t put it past her for not knowing who he was. She had spent the last four years buried in her study; she rarely watched TV or listened to music.

She typed Tristan Woods into the search box on the internet. Over 40,600,000 search matches. She was stunned. Could she really have been so blinded to not know who he was when clearly he was well known to so many people? She searched through the first page of search results, websites, news articles, fan pages. She found his official website and clicked on it. She stopped for a moment, looking at the picture in the background, his eyes staring into the depths of her heart. She moved the curser over the
About
tab, clicking on it, she read it slowly. When she finished it, she sat back on her bed. He had worked hard to get where he was, and now he was living his dream. He had thousands, if not millions of fans who adored him. What had she gotten herself into? She leant back over the laptop, moving her cursor over the page, clicking on the music player.

She listened to his beautiful soulful
voice,
he was singing the song he sang to her only moments ago. She listened to his songs, one after the other, all with the same intensity. It didn’t matter if he was singing acoustic or more upbeat songs, it was mind-blowingly good.

Stella sighed, falling back on the bed; she searched the ceiling for answers.

This is what she wanted, a no strings attached hook up, he would go back to his life and she would go back to hers. She couldn’t imagine going back to her life now, not after what happened. He had asked her to call him, begged her even. Maybe he wanted more. He did say the word relationship, but he was an extremely popular singer.
A famous singer.
A celebrity.

“Shit!” Stella exclaimed. It would never work. She was
a nobody
and he was…well everything. Sadness sank within her as she realised they would never be together, it would only be a night of passion and nothing else. They were from two completely different worlds. She then quickly pulled herself from those thoughts. Why had the thought of not having a relationship with him made her upset?

She wouldn’t call him, no she couldn’t. She made a promise to herself long ago, and she wasn’t about to break that promise for some famous singer, no matter what she felt for him. They had a great time together something she would remember for a lifetime, and that’s all it would be, a memory.

Tristan
gathered himself outside of Stella’s unit, leaning up against the door he’d just exited.

He had spent hours this morning debating on what he should do. He didn’t want to
leave,
he wanted to stay there forever in that perfect moment. He considered cancelling his flight this morning, but he realised Stella might not want him to stay. He wasn’t honest with her about who is was, and although generally girls swoon over him once they figure out who he is, he had a distinct feeling Stella was not like that. In fact she wasn’t like any other girl he had ever met.

When he told her who he was, he wanted to get out of there as quick as possible in case her reaction wasn’t the one he’d hope for. He hoped she would accept who he was and want to take a chance with him, but he knew there was a good chance she might never want to see him again.

He didn’t want her to make her assumptions of him based on his celebrity status, he was well aware of the media exploitations of his ‘encounters’ with women. He didn’t want Stella to think that was who he
was,
maybe two years ago it was him, but not now. He spent years on his rise to fame taking in all that his new found status gave him, including the partying and women. Unfortunately it took him longer than he wished to realise that kind of life only lead to loneliness and unhappiness.

The past two days with Stella, although brief and unexpected, were two of the most amazing days he had experienced in a long time. He certainly never had that type of experience with a girl before. Something about her made him want to spend every second of everyday just getting to know her. He normally didn’t have a problem figuring out women, but Stella wasn’t different. She was a mystery. Everything about her intrigued him, he prayed she would call him, he didn’t know what he would do if she didn’t.

CHAPTER THREE

3 Months Later

Stella never told anyone about that night, not even her sister, Claire. If all they were going to have was one night, then she wanted to cherish it.

She had never been so conflicted with her feelings. The first month had been the hardest. She found herself one too many times dialling his number and then quickly hanging up before it rang. She wanted, needed to talk to him, to hear his voice. She stayed strong however, reminding herself that she couldn’t live in his world. She found herself often wondering over the many months of what her life would be like, to wake up in his arms every morning.
To kiss him.
To love him.
She quickly shook the idea out of her
head,
she didn’t want a relationship, let alone with a famous singer. When she found herself in those moments of desperation she would immerse herself in her work, it was nearing the end of the financial year, so she welcomed the distraction of working more.
