Chapter 3: Lacianne

Two days passed by and I haven’t heard anything from Bryce. Since he was so adamant about me being his lawyer, I presumed he would be marching into my office the next day, demanding that I keep the cash I sent back to him. That obviously wasn’t the case. He never showed up at my office or called. I felt a little hurt by the situation. I wasn’t sure why, but Bryce consumed my thoughts so often. After the sweet, gentle kiss he gave me, I ran out of the restaurant, not even bothering to order my food.

The way he talked to me and handled me was intriguing. His approach wasn’t like most dudes. Yes, he was rude and cocky, but it didn’t make me want to slap him. The way he talked to me had me ready to call him daddy and ask what he wanted for breakfast. However, that was just silly thinking because the two of us would never work. I could tell from his demeanor that we came from two different worlds. Let’s not mention that he needed a criminal lawyer on his team. There was no way in the world I was going to date a criminal. My little fantasies would just have to do because Gunz was off limits.

The work day came and went pretty fast, and I couldn’t be happier. My days started to blend together and I began to feel as if I was losing my mind. Being a criminal defense attorney was a lot of work. It wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle; I just had to get use to the process. I gathered all of my case files that needed reviewing over the weekend and headed down to my car. I threw my briefcase, along with the rest of my things on the backseat, and jumped in my car. I sat there for a second, trying to get my car to warm up. Even though I was a winter baby, I couldn’t stand the cold. Spring and fall were more so my seasons. I drove home in silence as I did after every work day. The silence always helped my mind to unwind. I lived alone, but as soon as I stepped foot in the house, it was right back to work. My whole life consisted of nothing but work. I couldn’t complain because work was the reason I was able to afford a beautiful two family home in New Springville located in Staten Island. I loved my house. I upgraded the whole house after a year of owning it. Hardwood floors, Pella windows, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances decorated my home. The house had four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which was more than I needed. Nazi had her own room because when she came up from college, she would stay with me instead of our parents. The other two rooms were supposed to be guest rooms, but they were really for show because I didn’t allow anyone besides my family in my home. My home was my sanctuary, and I liked to keep it that way.

I parked my car in the driveway and headed for my front door. The case files I had in my backseat would have to stay there because this Friday night was going to be spent unwinding and soaking in a hot bubble bath. Walking inside, I kicked my shoes off at the front door and went straight for the kitchen. I pulled out a glass and a bottle of wine, ready to get my calm evening started.

As I poured my glass, I noticed a huge bouquet of ocean breeze orchids. Now upon seeing them, a couple of thoughts ran across my mind. The first was how did they get into my house and who were they from. I was grateful for them because they honestly were my favorite flower. The fact that they were in a cute purple vase with my name engraved on it made it all the more special. I walked over to them, guessing my mother or father sent them as an early birthday gift.

I smelled the flowers, loving the scent, before looking for a card. I grabbed the card from in the middle of the bouquet.

Laci,

I see that you’re a difficult one, but a challenge isn’t something that I back down from. Orchids symbolize perfection & beauty. So imagine my surprise when your favorite flower is the ocean breeze orchid. I already knew you were beautiful and perfect, but now I can add rare to that list. The money that you sent back to me is in your bank account. Don’t question how, just simply smile and enjoy your flowers.

Gunz

An unexpected smile spread across my face. I grabbed my phone off the counter and quickly went to my Citibank app. I hurriedly signed in and lo and behold, my bank account had an extra forty grand. I moved the flowers from the counter and sat them in the middle of my island. I shook my head as I picked up my glass of wine and headed for the staircase. I climbed the stairs, ready to soak in my tub, when I heard music coming from Nazi’s room. I rolled my eyes and went towards her door. Not really caring about respecting her privacy, I opened the door to find her dancing around her room to a Beyoncé song.

“Nazi, what are you doing here? You’re not supposed to be here until next weekend. My birthday is the 14
th
, remember?” I asked, turning down her music.

“I’m your sister; how could I forget your birthday? Not to mention, your birthday is Valentine’s Day.”

“Yeah, well you could have given me a heads up that you were coming.”

“You could have given me a heads up that you were dating someone.” She smiled, pulling me over to her bed.

“What are you talking about? I’m not dating anyone.”

“You don’t have to lie, Laci. He sent you your favorite flowers and those are not easy to get. As soon as I got here, the doorbell was ringing. The delivery guy didn’t even want to give them to me because he had strict instructions to give them to you. He even had a picture of what you look like. Is the dude you’re dating in the FBI? If so, tell him I have a couple of tickets he can get rid of.” She laughed, but I didn’t find anything funny.

I was thankful, but creeped out at the same time. I couldn’t figure out how he knew my favorite flower, where I lived, and he had a picture of me to give to the delivery guy. Not to mention, he put money in my back account. I hope he wasn’t a stalker or anything because I would hate to have to move.

“So, who is he?” Nazi asked, taking me out of my little rant I was having in my mind.

“He’s not my boyfriend; he’s my client that just might be a stalker.”

“A stalker! Did you tell dad? Matter of fact, he wouldn’t know how to handle a dude that goes by the name Gunz. I’ll give you the lipstick stun gun I have. You need it way more than I do.”

“Where the hell did you get a stun gun from? You do know it’s illegal, right?”

“Sissy, it’s only illegal if you get caught. Anywho, let’s go out tonight.”

“I don’t want to. Why don’t you go up the street and go visit mom and dad?” I lived a couple of blocks away from my parents. They were part of the reason I was able to afford this house. I paid for the house with most of my money, but their names were the ones on the dotted line.

“They don’t even know I’m up here and I would like to keep it that way. Come on Laci, come out with me. I want to go to a reggae club.” She smiled.

“You think you are so slick.” I gave her the side eye because she knew I loved me some reggae. Mavado was my weakness; I repped the gully hard.

“Fine, if you’re not having fun, then we can leave.”

“Okay Nazi, I’ll go,” I sighed, sipping on my wine.

“Good and I’ll pick out your outfit, so don’t worry. Go get in the tub, so you can soak because I know that’s what you were going to do. I’ll have your clothes out on the bed.”

“Don’t try to dress me in anything too revealing, Nazi.”

“I won’t, relax. Now, get out my room, so I can finish listening to my music.”

I rolled my eyes at her and left out the room. I went straight for my master bathroom and turned on the hot water in my free standing tub. I added a couple of drops of vanilla oil and some vanilla scented bath salts. I sat my cup of wine at the edge of the tub before going into my room. I stripped out of my clothes, leaving them on my bedroom floor. I turned on my heels to go back in my bathroom when my house phone started ringing.

“Hello?” I answered, walking towards my bathroom. I lowered myself into the steamy bath water, trying to get comfortable.

“Did you like the flowers?” his deep voice asked through the phone. His voice was raspy, but sensual at the same time.

“Yes, I did like my flowers, but I’m starting to believe you’re a stalker. First, you get my address to send me flowers, then you somehow get my bank account number to send me money, and now you have my home phone number.” I had to stay calm because I didn’t know if he was a lunatic or not. For all I know, he could be sitting outside my house.

“Baby, there is no need for me to be a stalker because a nigga like me got a flock of bitches ready and willing to do anything I need them to.”

“Oh really?” I said, feeling a twinge of jealousy. “Why don’t you go keep one of your bitches company and get off my phone.” Something about him saying he had other women bothered me.

“Calm down, Laci. No need to be jealous because we aren’t even together. Like I said, this is all business between us.”

“Okay.”

“I just wanted to call you and make sure you liked your flowers.” I could hear a laugh in his voice.

“Then you could have called my office phone and left a message.”

“I don’t do messages, plus calling your house phone is more intimate. I can bet the only people who have your house number are immediate family.”

“You are absolutely right. Calling my house phone is more intimate, and intimate we are not. Anything else you need concerning business, you can reach me at my office.” I hung up the phone feeling pissed off.

Bryce was so confusing. I may not have been into dating, but I knew when someone was flirting with me. He would flirt with me, then throw it in my face that we only had business together. I didn’t even want to have business with him, but I didn’t have much of a choice since he put it in my bank account. I was going to keep him at arm’s length because I still felt he was borderline crazy.

Chapter 4: Gunz

“Bruh, you better leave that girl alone before she call them boys on your ass. You probably got her scared to leave her fucking house and shit.” Jinx laughed.

Jinx and I were chilling playing 2k14 in his crib, when I decided to call Laci and fuck with her a little bit. I got the money back from her untouched the next day and knew I had to come harder. I had Jinx look up her bank account information. Jinx was so good; I even found out her favorite flower and where I could order it from. I wasn’t a stalker or no shit; Laci was just worth all the effort I was putting in.

Laci was real stuck up, but I could read her ass like a book. I said that shit about having a whole bunch of chicks just to get under skin. I needed her to know that I had options, so the time and energy I was putting into her meant something. The whole ‘it’s business thing between us’ was to see if she would admit her true feelings. Her body language and aura screamed she wanted these eleven inches, but her mouth always said something different. I was waiting for her to let it be known she wanted more than business with me.

“Laci ain’t gonna call them boys because she’s intrigued by a nigga. Her bougie ass just doesn’t want to admit it. It’s cool though because I’ma gonna have her ass climbing the walls real soon.”

“You bugging, my nigga. But, I’m going to let you do what you need to do because you don’t listen to anyone anyway.”

“I’m glad you know, baby bruh,” I chuckled.

You damn right I didn’t listen to what anyone else had to say because a nigga was a grown ass man. I never acted without thinking about the consequences. Every movement I made was calculated, including Laci.

“Roll with me to Temptations. I met a shawty earlier today.”

“That Jamaican spot over on Church Ave?”

“Yeah, that’s were she said she was going to be at.”

“Why not take your sister?” I laughed.

“You know how she can be when it comes to us and females.”

Jiselle was something else. She didn’t care if we fucked bitches, but that was as far as she wanted it to go. Jiselle was our world and she knew it. She would run bitches off, just so she would stay number one in our lives. No matter how many times we told her no chick could take her place, she didn’t want to believe it.

“You know she just don’t want no one coming in and fucking up our bond. I’m down to go ‘cause I don’t have shit else to do.” I dropped the remote on the coffee table and got up to leave.

“Ight, make sure you’re ready by 12,” Jinx said.

I nodded my head, letting him know that I heard him, and left out. Getting in the house, I had an urge to call Laci back up. She hung up on me before I was done talking and I didn’t like that shit at all. Going against my better judgement, I called her and the phone went straight to voicemail. I laughed to myself because Laci just didn’t learn, but she was going to find out that fucking with me could either be a blessing or a curse. If she kept acting up, I was gonna have to show her ass just how I get down.

* * * *

“Where shawty at that you’re supposed to be meeting with?” Jinx and I were off in a secluded area, holding up the wall. From where we stood, I could see everything going on around me, but no one could see me. I liked for my presence to be felt, not seen.

“I don’t know, but I’m about to be up out of here,” he said, running his hand over his face. The chick Jinx was waiting for had to be some type of cute. Jinx didn’t like waiting on no one, so for him to have waited two hours for her spoke volumes.

“All you got to do is say the word and we gone,” I told him.

“Ight. Wait, hold up, there she go right there.”

I looked in the direction of where Jinx’s focus was and my eyes landed on Laci. I looked at him, then back at her. There was no way Laci was fucking with Jinx.

“Nigga, you bagged Laci?” I asked.

“Don’t nobody want her stuck up ass. I got the chick walking next to her.”

“Oh, my bad, bruh. I didn’t even notice her ass,” I chuckled.

“Yeah, I bet you didn’t, ole sprung ass nigga. Let me go get them. When they come over here, don’t start no shit nigga.”

“I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t start anything, but I got you. I’ll play nice for the time being.”

Jinx coolly walked to where the girls were. He said a couple of things to them, then grabbed the chick’s hand he was waiting for. I studied Laci while everything was transpiring. As Jinx pulled at the girl’s hand, Laci whispered something in her ear. The two ladies went back and forth with each other for a little while, until Jinx’s girl dropped his hand and started saying something to him. As I continued to look on, I came to the conclusion that my brother was going to be at the losing end of the stick, and I just couldn’t have that. I walked over to where they were, making my presence known to Laci. We locked eyes and she rolled hers, then looked away.

“Laci, who said you could come out here in that thin ass latex one piece?” The material of the black one piece she was wearing clung to her body, the same way a newborn latches on to a nipple. It left very little to the imagination.

“I didn’t know I needed permission to wear what I like. Nazi, are you ready to go?” I caught on to the look Laci was giving Nazi. She should have known that she wasn’t going to get away that easily.

“Wassup Nazi, I’m Bryce, but you can call me Gunz.”

“Hey Gunz, I’m Laci’s little sister, Nazi.” She smiled.

“My brother, Jinx, was really looking forward to spending some time with you. Why you trying to leave him hanging and shit?”

“I’m not trying to leave him hanging; I just didn’t tell my sister that I was coming to meet him. How would I look leaving my sister to chill with a dude?”

“You don’t have to worry about your sister because I got her.” I smiled at Laci, showing her all thirty-two of my pearly whites.

“Like hell you do!” We all turned to look at her, as if to question did she really just say that. “Nazi, don’t leave me alone with him. He’s a stalker,” she whined.

Before Nazi could say something, I stepped in between the two and bent over low enough to whisper in Laci’s ear.

“I told you before, I got a boat load of females that are willing and ready for me to invest my time into them. A nigga like me stalking you would mean that you got something that I want, and from the looks of it, you don’t. Your sister and my brother are trying to make a love connection and I’m not going to let your prissy ass cock block. So, you are going to tell your sister to go have fun and you are going to come with me.” I gave her a hard stare, letting her know not to try me.

“Its fine Nazi, go have some fun. I’m sure Jinx will get you home safely,” Laci sighed.

“Love you, sis,” Nazi cooed as she walked away.

“Yeah, love you too,” Laci sighed.

I grabbed Laci’s hand, half expecting her to pull it away. I led her over to the bar because her ass was uptight and could use a couple of drinks. I helped her on to the barstool before leaning next to her, flagging down a waitress.

“Let me get six shots of Tequila. Laci, what you want?”

“A long island ice tea,” she said. “Are you going to take all of those shots?”

“Nah, I’ma take four; you’re going to take the rest,” I told her. My eyes kept lingering on her body. The way her titties sat up in the one piece had me ready to spill a shot on her exposed breasts, just so I could lick it off. Her sex appeal was alluring.

“I don’t do shots,” she said, waving her hand no.

“There’s a first time for everything, right?”  The bartender was right on time. He placed Laci’s drink in front of her, then sat the shots in between us. I pushed one over to her and grabbed one for myself.

“I don’t know about this.”

“There is nothing for you to know. Lick the salt around the rim of your glass, down the shot, then bite into the lime.” The look of horror on her face was hilarious.

“I promise you it’s not that bad.”

“I’ll make you a deal.”

“How did I know that was coming? The lawyer in you is coming out I see.”

“Ha! Very funny. If I take this shot, then you have to get out on the dance floor with me.”

“Baby girl, you’re gonna have to take more than one shot for that to happen.” A nigga like me don’t dance. It wasn’t because I couldn’t, I just didn’t see the point of all the dry humping. That shit did nothing but leave a nigga with a hard dick and a chick with a wet cat.

“Fine, I’ll take four,” she smirked.

“Ight ma, it’s your world. Get to drinking.”

Laci took a couple of sips of her drink before going in on the shots. She downed the first two without a problem. By the time she got to her fourth one, her ass was giggling out of control. She was definitely a lightweight.

“Hold up Laci, before you take the last shot, let me take mine first.”

“Okay,” she giggled.

I reached over the bar, grabbing the salt shaker. Gripping Laci firmly around her waist, I moved her closer to me. My fingers grasped her hair, forcing her to tilt her hand to the side. From her jaw line to her shoulder blade, my tongue glided, leaving a slippery trail.

“What are you doing?” she asked, just above a whisper.

“I’m taking my shots, relax love.”

I sprinkled salt on the trail I left, never letting her hair go. I stuck my hands in her drink, pulling out an ice cube. Popping it in my mouth, I chewed the ice up, ready to get my shots started. The coldness of my tongue sent chills up her spine as I licked the salt. Letting her hair go, I threw back both of my shots, and the last one of hers, with ease.

“You have to eat the lime now,” she giggled again. Now, any other chick giggling this much would have had to step, but Laci’s giggle was elegant and angelic.

“Trust me, I know.”

I forcefully cupped her chin, bringing her mouth only inches away from mine. With my free hand, I picked up a lime and squeezed some of the juice on her lips. Bringing her face closer to mine, we shared breaths as the juice dripped to her chin. I gently placed soft kisses on her chin before greedily sucking on her lips. Just as I was about to slip my tongue in, she pulled away from me.

“Just business, remember?” she giggled, holding on to her chest. She could say it was just business all she wanted, but from the dazed look in her eyes, I knew she wanted the business.

“You got it. Come on because I owe your giggling ass a dance.” I grabbed a napkin, wiping her chin and neck.

I grabbed her hand and led the way to the dance floor. The DJ must have been playing one of her favorite songs because as soon as we found a spot on the dance floor, she went to work. Laci was whining her hips, letting the reggae sound take her away. At first, I was just standing there because the sight before me had me in a trance. The Laci that was dancing all on my dick wasn’t the same chick I met in her office that day. Nah, this Laci was different. This Laci was caressing herself and pulling me closer as the music took her away.

“Come on, you’re supposed to be dancing, not just standing there,” she said, as she spun around to face me.

Laci dropped it low in front of me while holding on to my belt loops. The DJ switched from playing Popcaan’s “Naughty Girl”
to Konshens’ “Walk and Wine”
.
Laci heard the song and really started showing out.

She did this weird little frog hop, turning back towards me. I looked on as this girl got on her hands and started popping her ass. I wanted to stop her because moves like this was only meant for me to see, but I couldn’t because I was too intrigued and shocked. She spun on her head a couple of times, then landed into a split. Oh, but it didn’t stop there. Her ass started to split, moving across the floor. I guess you could say she was split walking. I made sure to stay close, just in case one of these dudes decided to get out of line.

“Is that a new DHQ I see!” the DJ called out.

Laci was doing her thing, but the stares she was getting from other dudes started to piss me off. I wasn’t the jealous type, but niggas shouldn’t be looking at what doesn’t belong to them. Laci was whining her way back up to her feet when I snatched her ass up.

“What are you doing?” she complained, trying to break loose from my grip.

“No, what the fuck are you doing?” I gritted.

“I was dancing, something that you know nothing about,” she spat.

“Nah, that shit wasn’t dancing. You were a borderline stripper out there. Ma, if you would’ve started taking your clothes off, I would’ve gave you a band for the shit you were doing.”

“Excuse me?” she asked, shocked.

“Gunz, you would never have to worry about me embarrassing you like that,” some chick said, standing there watching Laci and I.

“You’re right. I wouldn’t have to worry about you embarrassing me like that because your face is fucking embarrassing enough. Get the fuck out of here and go get some plastic surgery or something.”

“Humph,” the chick said, storming off. Laci was standing there looking mad as fuck. I rubbed my chin, trying to figure out how shit got out of hand. Arguing in the club wasn’t even me.

“Look, my bad, ight.”

“If that’s an apology, you can keep it,” she said, crossing her arms around her chest.
