Highlight

Emily Davis is desperate to get off the
planet. Reports of the sun’s inevitable explosion were wreaking
havoc about the inhabitants of the Triad Galaxies. No planet within
the three galaxies surrounding the sun will survive. The one
problem holding her up? Her boyfriend, Jeremy Stone. Jeremy thinks
the whole story about the sun exploding is made up. He fights her
at every turn. At the last moment, Emily is able to convince Jeremy
to take the alien ship, the Galactic Star.

Captain Zor heard Terra is looking for more
evacuation ships. He decides to leave his pirating days behind and
make a legitimate business move. He didn’t expect the chaos he
found when he landed on Terra. The humans were knocking one another
around trying to get to a ship. He could care less for the humans.
That is until he spotted her boarding his ship. The human female is
the most beautiful creature he has ever laid eyes upon. He wants
her instantly. The problem is, she has a boyfriend—a whiny, abusive
boyfriend.

As the Galactic Star takes Emily further from
the only home she has ever known, she realizes her relationship
with Jeremy isn’t what it should be. Trouble arises and she has
only one person she can turn to, Captain Zor.

Will Emily decide to stay with Jeremy? Will
Zor be able to fight his attraction for the human female? What
troubles will they find while leaving Triad?

Prologue

The end of the world was nearing for Terra,
the human race, and all the other inhabitants that lived within the
Triad Galaxies. The sun was growing larger and larger. It dried up
most of Earth’s water supply and the temperatures had become almost
unbearable. The sun continued to expand and would soon explode
outward, destroying everything within the three galaxies
surrounding it.

A galactic evacuation was called and the race
was on for all those who still inhabited the older planets to leave
as their one chance for survival. The human race was in a panic
because they didn't have enough ships to get all of their people
off the planet. Only those with higher government ties or the
extremely wealthy were given the highly sought after spots on board
an evacuating ship. Several alien species, once known throughout
the galaxy as space pirates, took it as an opportunity to benefit
financially from the humans’ dilemma.

At one time the humans had banned all alien
life forms from Terra, but now their only hope of survival was to
rely on the very aliens who nearly killed them years before. Hatred
and prejudice ran deep on both sides. Both aliens and humans must
overcome their hatred of one another and learn to live together
peaceably if they had any hope to survive leaving Triad.

Chapter One

“Emily, hurry up, this was your idea!” Jeremy
yelled as he pulled her through the groups of people trying to get
on the human ships.

“Sorry, Jeremy. I don’t want to run over
anyone. It’s complete chaos out here,” she returned.

They finally got to the ship named the
Galactic Star, with its strange alien crew, loading passengers and
their bags. Jeremy approached the alien captain and handed him most
of Emily’s gold.

The alien captain didn’t even look at Jeremy
as he took the payment. When a beautiful, dark-haired woman passed
him, his eyes tracked her every step. Who was she? Was she with the
human male?

One of the alien crewmembers led Jeremy and
Emily to a small room. The alien was like a big blob with eight
tentacles and a blue color to its skin. It stood about six feet
tall. Emily did her best not to stare at the alien. Jeremy, on the
other hand, stared and showed his disgust.

The room they had was small, maybe eight foot
by eight foot. There was a small bed, not as small as a twin size,
but not as big as a full. There was a dresser on each side of the
bed and a small closet for them to share. There was a light on each
dresser and a small bathroom connected to the room.
Was this the
best their gold could get them?

“Dammit, Emily, I told you we should just
stay at home and wait this thing out!” Jeremy yelled.

“And then what, get blown up with the
planet?” she threw back in his face.

“Yeah, because the government has never lied
to its people before!” he returned his voice still raised.

“It’s obvious, Jeremy,” she started. “The sun
is now bigger than earth when you look at it, and even the night is
still lit by the brightness of it. The temperature is almost
unbearable and the water is drying up everywhere on the planet’s
surface.”

“God, you’re just as gullible as the rest of
the damn human race!” he yelled as he stormed out of the room
slamming the door behind him.

Emily sat on the bed then and took a breath.
She had no clue why she let him treat her like that, especially
when she paid for everything he did. She didn’t even feel like she
was in love with him anymore. She started crying, wondering why she
was still with him. Most importantly, how was she going to leave
him when she was on a strange ship full of aliens?

She thought back to when she first met
Jeremy. He had been dating one of her friends. The relationship
didn’t last but six months. Her friend broke up with him and moved
to another state. She remained friends with Jeremy and he began to
pursue her.

She had fallen for his blond hair and blue
eyes; he had a great smile and at one time nice to her. After a
year of dating, they moved in together and then he had started
making demands on her. After a few months, he became more verbally
abusive. They were constantly fighting. He was furious she had only
let him touch her sexually a few times after he moved in. She
hadn’t enjoyed any of the times with him.

When the fights escalated, she threatened to
leave him. He would always make some grand gesture to make things
up to her. It always turned bad again because he couldn’t keep up
with the effort to be a good person. She had tried to leave him
before, but when she had moved out, he followed her. There were
times she wished he would leave her, she knew he never would. She
was his meal ticket.

There was a knock on the door, but before she
could even stand up or ask who it was, the door was suddenly thrust
open. She glanced at the man standing in the doorway. He looked
like a human other than his light gray skin tone. He had stark
white hair with high cheekbones. He wore no shirt. She recognized
him as the guy that Jeremy handed her money to outside of the ship.
His body was bulging with muscles. Her mouth went dry at the sight
of him and his blue eyes seemed to sparkle at her.

“We are getting ready for takeoff,” he stated
in a sultry kind of voice. “Is everything alright?” he questioned,
seeing her eyes were blood red with tears still surfacing.

“Yes,” she lied, turning her head away.

“Would you like to come and see the takeoff?”
he questioned, enthralled with her beauty, her dark brown hair
complimented her gray eyes and pale skin. His eyes roamed her body,
enjoying how short her skirt was and lingered on the low cut front
of her shirt.
How could he have almost missed not seeing her
when she boarded the ship? She had to be the most beautiful being
he had ever seen, despite her being human.
