“What’s going on?” Jeremy interrupted as he
squeezed by the alien. He went to stand by Emily possessively.

“Just came to tell everyone we were ready for
takeoff,” Zor stated with a much colder tone than he had used with
Emily.

“Alright, Captain,” Jeremy said, trying to
get him to leave quickly, seeing the look in Emily’s eyes, knowing
she was attracted to the alien. “Thank you for letting us
know.”

The captain shut the door behind him as he
left. It was strange how quickly his heart raced at the mere sight
of the woman. He frowned thinking about how she was with that
scrawny, little human scumbag. His men should have never allowed
the human male on the ship. He walked toward the control room
trying to ignore the yelling he was hearing. It was hard for him to
not go back in there and pummel the male for talking to the
beautiful woman that way. Someone like her deserved better
treatment.

*****

“Emily, I left the room for ten minutes and
you were eye-fucking the captain of the ship!” he screamed at her.
Spittle flying out of his mouth.

“I was not,” she denied. “Why do even care?
You are always flirting with other women right in front of me.”

“God, Emily, you’re such an over dramatic
whore!” he yelled.

“Fuck you!” she yelled back as she headed for
the door. She was getting tired of this unhealthy relationship.

He shoved her against the door, pressing his
body against hers. “What are you going to do, go sleep with him
now?” he grated out through clenched teeth.

Emily turned and pushed him away from her.
She continued out of the room slamming the door behind her. She
walked around the ship for a while unsure of where she was going;
all she knew was that she needed a drink. She turned the corner and
ran into the captain. He caught her by her arm just before she
could hit the ground and pulled her back to her feet.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“Yes, I’m sorry, Captain,” she answered a
little breathless.

“Please call me Zor,” he said with a kind
smile that could probably charm the pants off any woman. “What are
you looking for?”

“I just needed a drink to calm down,” she
answered. “I was hoping there was somewhere on board to grab a
beer.”

“I’ll buy you one,” he said, smiling.
“Although you seem to be headed in the wrong direction. That way
will lead you to the control room and my bedroom. I’m sure that is
not where you wanted to go right now, but maybe another time,” he
said it as if it was an open invitation.

He started walking in the opposite direction
and she followed him. They walked through one door and then they
were at the bar. Emily’s cheeks turned red. She had walked by that
door twice and never thought it would be the one leading to the
bar. It had a symbol on it that she didn’t recognize, but now she
realized the alien symbol probably stood for BAR.
Well, duh to
her
. He pulled a seat out for her and sat down next to her. She
hadn’t been treated this nice since before her parents died. Her
father used to do things like hold open doors or pull out a chair
for her and her mother all the time.

“Are you sure you want a beer? They have just
about every drink in the universe here,” he asked quietly as he
signaled for the bartender.

“Yes, just a beer please,” Emily said, her
cheeks raging red as the bartender walked over.

“Two beers, Henry,” Zor said to the
bartender.

They were sitting right next to the tap so
they watched as he skillfully poured both glasses. He had four arms
so it couldn’t have been too hard. His skin was peach colored but
he stood taller than a human, plus his head was larger, and his
black eyes seemed to take in everything around him.

“Here you go, Captain,” he said as he put the
beer in front of the two of them.

“Keep ‘em coming until the lady has had
enough,” Zor said as he glanced at her and realized that she was
drinking pretty quickly. “Whenever you are ready to talk about what
has you so upset, I’ll be right here.” The way she was putting away
the beer, it wouldn’t take too much longer to get those
answers.

“It’s nothing you should concern yourself
with,” she answered as she set her glass down now that is was
completely empty. “But thank you.”

“I’m asking,” he returned pryingly. He passed
her his glass too. She took a huge swig of that as well.

“My boyfriend is a complete ass and blames me
for dragging him here. I’m an idiot for staying with him this
long,” she answered.

“Did you make him come here?” he asked.

“No, I told him I was going either way and he
decided to follow,” she returned.

“He doesn’t hit you, does he?” he asked,
sounding like he needed to hear an answer.

“No, he hasn’t yet, he’s raised his hand to
me but hasn’t actually hit me. He’s more verbally abusive than
physical,” she answered, taking two more huge gulps of beer.

“You don’t think he would do that to you?” he
asked, watching as she guzzled down the rest of his beer. A drop
missed her mouth. He stared as it slid down her chin, to her chest,
and then dropped between her breasts. He licked his lips at the
thought of licking it off her. He turned his head quickly, hoping
she had not caught the direction his eyes traveled.

“A few months ago, I would have been able to
say no,” she replied. “Now, I just don’t know. I don’t trust him
not to.” She looked at her watch and frowned. “I really should go
before he gets mad and comes looking for me.” She stood
quickly.

Zor took her hand as she started to walk away
and kissed the back of it. “Let’s do this again sometime.”

Emily was immediately turned on from his
touch. She felt her nipples harden and there was wetness between
her thighs.
What was wrong with her? She had just met the
man.

He watched her, enjoying the sight of her
cheeks flaring red again. His eyes followed her as she walked away,
her hips swinging enticingly. The woman appealed to him on some
level. She was sad yet seemingly strong. He liked that.

Emily walked back to her room. Jeremy was
waiting on the bed, sitting up. She closed the door, knowing that
he was going to yell.

“Where the hell have you been?!” he
screamed.

“Does it matter?” she returned, not wanting
to take any more of his shit tonight.

“Yes, it does,” he spat back. “Now tell me
where you have been, you little slut!” he screamed.

“I went for a beer!” she yelled back.

“How much money did you spend?” he
questioned.

“None, and it’s my money anyway,” she
answered.

“What did you do? Did you sleep with the
bartender for a free drink?” He was seething with rage.

“Why do you have to be such an ass?” she
said, raising her voice.

“Fine, just come to bed,” he said. “You can
make it up to me.”

“Ugh…Jeremy, I don’t want to,” she
answered.

“Why? Are you fucking someone else? You must
be since you never want me anymore,” he returned angrily. “I should
be able to take whatever I want from you. Someone as simple-minded
as you shouldn’t be able to make decisions for themself.”

“Fuck you, Jeremy!” she yelled.

He grinned an evil grin and she knew what he
was planning to do. Her heart started to race in her chest as he
walked up to her. He shoved her against the wall and laid a rough,
overly aggressive kiss on her lips. He rubbed his fingers on the
outside of her panties. She shoved his hand away.

“Stop it, Jeremy, I don’t want to!” she
yelled.

“You aren’t even making an attempt to get
away, Emily, don’t you think it’s obvious, look at me and look at
you,” he said as he pressed his body against hers.

She shoved him away from her and he sat on
the bed in awe. Emily never argued with him, she always did
whatever he wanted her to do.

She grabbed a towel and went into the
bathroom to see that there wasn’t a shower in there. She left the
room and found a women’s shower room a few doors down from where
her room was. She hurried and hopped in, surprised to see five
shower stalls in there. She jumped in the closest one and showered,
cleaning herself thoroughly. Tears streamed down her face. She
wasn’t sure she could go through that again. When she was done, she
got out to see she hadn’t thought to bring any clean clothes with
her. She wrapped herself in a towel and tried to run back to her
room quickly before anyone saw her.

“It usually takes more than one beer to get a
woman naked,” Zor said as he saw her running out of the women’s
shower room.

She turned to look at him and her cheeks
flushed again. “I’m sorry. I forgot my clothes,” she answered
embarrassed.

“I’m not complaining,” he returned with a
smile as he eyed over her barely covered body. “There was a report
of a woman screaming, was that you?” he asked hoping it wasn’t.

She looked down at the floor. “I need to get
back to my room,” she said and disappeared as quickly as she
could.

She got into her room, happy to see that
Jeremy was already asleep. She dressed and laid on the small bed
staying as far away from him as possible.

Chapter Two

Emily woke up to see that Jeremy was gone.
She was actually relieved he wasn’t there. She had found herself
dreaming about the alien captain. She felt guilty even thinking of
another man while she was still in a relationship with Jeremy.
Though, her relationship with Jeremy would be over soon enough. She
would take her money and see if she could get her own room. She got
dressed for the day and put her hair up. She went to grab her money
but it was already gone. Furious, she went to find Jeremy.

“Hey!” She heard someone call out from behind
her. She turned to see Zor approaching. “I never got your
name.”

“It’s Emily,” she answered. “Have you seen my
boyfriend, Jeremy?”

“Yes,” he answered. “He lost a bet with a
bunch of the crewmembers and they sent me down to get more money.
They are holding him in a cell until his debts are paid.”

“Dammit! He took all of my money!” she yelled
raging mad.

“I can cover his bet for you, but you’d have
to let me buy you a cup of coffee,” Zor said. “Maybe breakfast too,
depending on how generous I feel like being.”

“I won’t go to bed with you. My boyfriend may
be an asshole, but I won’t sell myself for him or anyone else,” she
answered with her cheeks flaring red.

“I didn’t ask you to my bed,” he returned,
smiling. “You jumped to that conclusion so fast. Perhaps the
thought is not so abhorrent to you.”

Her cheeks got even redder and she looked
down at the floor. He put his hand under her chin and made her look
up at him. “You’ve thought about me, haven’t you?” he
questioned.

She looked away from him refusing to answer.
How did he know that?

He saw that he was making her uncomfortable.
“Never mind, let’s go get you that coffee.” He led her to the
bar.

He ordered a coffee for each of them and they
sat there sipping in silence until the second cup of coffee came
around. “So do you want me to release him from his debt or not?” he
asked.

“I don’t know,” she stated, then quickly
changed her words, “Yes. Now I’m going to have to find a way to
make money so we can live. Jeremy wasted it all.” Mostly, she
wanted to earn back the money she needed to get her own room on
board the ship.

“Well, I think the bartender is looking for
another attractive day waitress and a night waitress. Take your
pick,” Zor said, smiling flirtatiously at her.

“I’ll take nights, I’m not much of a morning
person,” she answered. She also hoped that Jeremy would be around
less during the day.

“Are you sure it’s not so you don’t have to
see your boyfriend?” he questioned accurately.

Her cheeks got warm again. “No,” she answered
but she knew he could tell she was lying.

He stood and walked over to the bartender.
Emily waited for him to come back and when he returned, he gave her
a big, sexy smile. He was just too attractive for his own good.

“Can you start tonight, sweetheart?” he
questioned as he handed her the outfit she was supposed to wear for
work.

She was in awe at how quickly that was done.
She jumped off the barstool and wrapped her arms around his broad
shoulders quickly. Her cheeks turned red as she realized what she
was doing and she let go. “Thank you,” she said.

“Do you want me to buy you some breakfast or
are you going to get more rest. You should probably at least rest
your feet so they don’t hurt so badly tonight? You need to be here
at eight,” he questioned.

“I should at least try to get some rest,
since I am going to have to be up all night,” she answered.

“I’ll go tell them to release your boyfriend
and I’ll cover his debts. He won’t get this treatment a second
time,” Zor warned her. He was a little disappointed she wanted her
good for nothing boyfriend released. “I’ll stop by later this
evening and see how your first night on the job went once your
shift is over.”

“Thank you so much,” she said. She downed the
rest of her coffee quickly. Zor insisted on walking her back to her
room on his way to get Jeremy. Emily had almost forgotten about
Jeremy completely.

She knew she had to make him stop gambling if
he was being that careless with her money. As he walked through the
door without a scratch on him, he walked up to kiss her but she
turned her head quickly.

“What’s your problem?” he asked.

“You stole what little bit of money I had
left and gambled it all away. We have no money to buy food with,”
she answered. “You should be glad the captain is so nice, he
released you of your debt and helped me get a job to bring in what
we need to survive.”

“How dare you talk about your little crush in
front of me. If we had no money, how did you get him to release
me?” he questioned her suspiciously. “Did you sleep with him?”
